  1. Dryptosaurus arcus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive In short, I believe that Dryptosaurus could sort of act as a middle ground of Deinonychus and the Rock Drake, as it is a high mobility climber, but doesn't have any of the gliding aspects as the Drake. It would be a more mid-lateish game tame as opposed to the very lategame Drake. Wild: Found in the high craggy sections of the Arks, Dryptosaurus are masters of traversing the Abberation's caves. Able to leap great distances and scale walls, they effortlessy navigate the strange terrain. The quills lining their bodies can charge with electricity that they generate naturally, augmenting their claw and tail attacks with the ability to knock smaller prey unconscious, and in higher doses, damage Tek. Domesticated: Once Tamed, the Dryptosaurus becomes an incredible traveling mount. Their ability to scale the cavern walls and pin smaller creatures are invaluable against the dangers across the ark. As a last ditch effort, the Dryptosaurus can convert all of its bioelectricity into pure adrenaline, trading their specialized abilities for a burst of strength, speed, and durability. This only lasts a short time however, and the Dryptosaurus must rest and recharge afterwards. Spawning and Taming: The Dryptosaurus should be spawning up in the higher up areas of Abberation, but always in pairs, as reference to the Leaping Laelaps painting. The taming method is relatively simple, the Dryptosaurus has an electrical reserve much like the Morellatop's water, it needs to have used up electricity as attacks or in exchange for the adrenaline boost first. Only when recharging does the torpor actually effect it, as it is at its weakest. If you'd like to see Dryptosaurus added please vote!
  2. Dryptosaurus arcus Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive In short, Dryptosaurus used to be called "Laelaps" named after a mythical hound that Zeus gifted someone. Laelaps meaning "hurricane" and being from Zeus inspired this Dryptosaurus to have bioelectrical capabilities. This specifically fits Ragnaroks whole theme, referencing myths and deities and all that. Wild: Found in the high mountainous regions of the Ark, Dryptosaurus are oddly always found in twin pairs, dashing and leaping through the crags and snow like wild dogs. Although, like the direwolves of the tundra they have a similarly vicious temperament, and will pursue any prey relentlessly. The quills lining their bodies can charge with electricity, that they generate naturally over time, augmenting their claw and tail shot attacks with the ability to knock prey unconscious. Domesticated: Once tamed, the Dryptosaurus becomes an incredible travelling mount. Able to scale walls and pin smaller creatures with their rending claws, as well as leap great distances to close gaps. Their bioelectricty comes in handy for knocking out would-be foes, but also has a use against the survivors of the Ark. With enough concurrent electrified attacks, the Dryptosaurus can temporarily interrupt short-circuit and disable Tek. Finally, the Dryptosaurus can empty it's bioelectrical reserves into pure adrenaline, trading their abilities for a burst of enhanced strength, speed, and stamina, and durability. This only lasts a very limited time though, and must wait for the Dryptosaurus to charge again before it can be used. Spawning and Taming: The Dryptosaurus should be spawning up in the highest peaks of Ragnarok, mostly in the snow biome, but always in pairs, as reference to the Leaping Laelaps painting.
  3. Oh, well that was actually supposed to be the fun of it, this Kronosaurus doesn't need water. I thought it could be fun especially because I don't think aquatic creatures ever get enough support because they're locked to the water. This way people can tame a cool pliosaur without it being mostly relegated to ocean runs. But your opinion is valid too
  4. Thank you! I definitely had the concavenator in mind, along with the manta ray. I want this guy to feel fun to move around with if it does ever make the cut.
  5. Alright so while this is a little out there of a concept, I felt that its a disservice that there have been basically no aquatic creatures to be voted into the game, and that Liopleurodon being a temporary tame may leave some with a desire for a pliosaur tame. That being said, this Kronosaurus had adapted to the ark by becoming a sand-swimming mob. This allows for locomotion similar to that of the manta, but diving in and out of the sand instead of the water. It can be leap out of the ground and land on things like stones or platforms, but will move very slowly, akin to a sea turtle. It should primarily be half sunk into the earth at all times as if in water. Dossier Common Name: Kronosaurus Species: Kronosaurus gaeas Time: Early Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild: The Arks never cease to amaze me, imagine my surprise when I saw the historically aquatic Kronosaurus diving in and out of the desert's dunes. They have adapted to the sands, swimming just as easily through the earth as the few shallow oases scattered across the ark. It's not uncommon to see them leap from the sands to snap up smaller prey. Although exceedingly rare in the desert, it rapidly heals when fed fish meat. Domesticated: Once tamed, Kronosaurus become the premiere desert mount. Their unparalleled resistance to the desert's elements gives their rider resistance to the effects of sandstorms and heatwaves. As they navigate the desert by sensing vibrations in the sand, the Kronosaurus can locate other creatures in a wide area around it using the sensitive barbels on their lower jaw. Once found, they can cause devastating wounds through their vicious leaping bite Abilities A brief rundown of the Kronosaurus' abilities. First and foremost I want this mount to be fun, either by building momentum like the direbear, or by drifting by taking sharp turns like andrewsarchus. The ability for it to leap is important, as at the height of it's jump it can inflict bleed. The Kronosaur should feel like a fast paced sand skiff with teeth. Secondly and maybe the forefront of the Kronosaurus' perks is its resistances to the various weather affects that plague the Scorched Earth. Its proficiency at navigating through the sand and how it absorbs heat protects the rider from sandstorms and heatstroke. Dealing with these can be a pain and a mount that helps to mitigate the need to place down a tent could be very helpful. As the Kronosaurus needs to be able to navigate the sands, I thought that it should have a sense ability like a parasaur or direwolf, this could also aid in vision while mounted during a sandstorm. As a bonus the Kronosaurus should still be able to swim in the few pools around the map, and get boosted healing from fish meat. Not important for this map but if taken to other arks it can be used as a regular aquatic mount. Spawning & Taming: Although it can carve through basically any ground surface like water, it should only spawn at the perimeter of the map in the open dunes, to keep it consistent with the theme of the "sea of dunes." Taming should be a simple knockout, it prefers fish meat to other meats, and honey over all else. To couple with the Kronosaur's traits I thought that it could have two types of saddles. For those who want to use it as a utility burden mount for weathering sandstorms it could act as a built-in smithy. For those who value the Kronosaurs' speed it can have a separate saddle with a sail affixed to the back, this makes it more like a sand skiff and grants the Kronosaur a slight speed boost and/or a tighter turning radius. Whatever is more balanced. Closing Out: I won't pretend to know anything about game balance when it comes to spawnrates or stats, so I'll let that be sorted out. But I do think this could be a wholly unique mount that fills out a niche in the game we don't really have. Especially since aquatic mounts aren't really voted for, and we're severly lacking in pliosaur content. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read through this, if you like, VOTE!
