  1. Really happy about the patch, thank you! ❤️ Now I'm just waiting for a fix to S+ and Homestead structures getting mixed up by the game, as well as a few other building bugs I'm sure you're working on, and I can go back to ARK!
  2. Oh, I only heard about this very recently, but not the particulars. Thank you for clearing it up for me. That is indeed very useful knowledge! ❤️ ? I don't agree with this at all. I consider the kibble system to be a very core mechanic and I am adamant that any chore mechanic should work on any combination of maps, including isolated maps. Coincidentally, it working on individual maps is also a good way of making sure it'll work on any combination of maps, so that's good at least. On the subject, I would also like to say that I definitely don't approve of needing a paid map (DLC), however, there is the free map Ragnarok so I know that's not what you're trying to say.
  3. Are you aware that you necroed a thread almost 8 months old? And I'm not entirely sure for what... ?
  4. Another ARK Digest question: Now that we have the Enable mating option, would you consider removing mating behaviour when wandering? It would be nice to be able to have my animals on wandering without mating (and not having to neuter/spay them as that's permanent). Edit: And one more Any chance you can share your reasoning behind the new kibble system? I mean no disrespect, but to me it feels a bit rushed and not very thought through - I would love to hear what your intentions were and be proven wrong.
  5. Yeah, I assumed that was the reason they removed boss transfers from Tek Transmitter. However, as a server setting it wouldn't be on official, nor on many unofficials, I suspect. I just think it'd be good to have it so that on my private server (and single player), we don't have to move our dinos to the obelisks...
  6. ARK Digest question: Any chance we'll see any of the following server settings (feel free to just mention the ones you've decided for or against considering): Allowing stackable foundations Allowing transfer to Boss Arenas from the Tek Transmitter Allowing logging in to a server without entering the password if you've entered it previously (since it was last changed) Multipliers to change the frequency and/or length of fog (as opposed to just turning it on/off) Allowing flyers to level speed (old fliers)
  7. People on the beta have reported S+ working more poorly since the integrated changes came, like suddenly having no snap points, etc. I'm worried about this as well... the reports I've seen from the beta branch tell of S+ no longer working well... However, S+ just got a huge update yesterday and maybe it was fixed there? Wouldn't that make all the already build structures vanish? That's really not a desirable outcome.
  8. Questions for ARK Digest: Logging in to a password protected server takes quite a few steps. Have you considered any of: Saving a password for a server so you don't have to re-enter it unless it changes? Allowing auto-connecting to a server by double-clicking it in the server browser? Allowing enter to confirm password (instead of having to klick the OK-button after entering the password)? Have you considered adding more achievements as well as DLC-specific achievements (other than the one for The Center)? I really love achievement hunting and feel it helps give a sense of progression through the game (which could also address that some players feel the new kibble system reduces the sense of progression). They don't need to come with skins/hairstyles: as far as I'm concerned, the Steam badge is enough (Discussion about achievement suggestions here) Is there a possibility of Direwolves getting armour or a saddle, or is this something you've already decided to not prioritise? What's your opinion on adding more baby dinos in the wild, like with Kairukus and/or allowing taming of baby dinos? Do you see any value in consistency, i.e. removing the baby Kairukus if it's not possible adding babies to other species? Any chance we'll ever get an integrated autorun feature? I just got the autorun mod and I didn't realise just how sick I was of needing to have my hand on the keyboard. This is something I'm sure many of those who can't get mods really would benefit from.
  9. Thanks for that link, AMAZING work ❤️ One question about the link though (and actually the beta, I might have misunderstood) : Is there only one kibble now? Not one for the island and one for Extinction? Since the dinos for all expansion packs are in the same table.
  10. Yeah, I get that... I always just figured it fitting endgame (as a tek item) that it would be easier to find at least the high levels since that would set focus on taming and breeding and give more of a purpose to endgame. I mean... I do understand the argument against, it's just that it's not so obvious to me as to completely banish all my hope of it
  11. Given how they work, i doubt this will be taken into consderaton, hence the tribe or bp reason. Agreed, I did think about that. As my understanding of the system is, they have engrams that are craftable and when you learn an engram you unlock/add it to be craftable. What I'm thinking is a split and if my understanding is at all close to the reality, I was thinking it could be done with minimal changes like so: When you level up, you don't learn engrams anymore, but something new... let's call it a skill. When you learn a skill, it will unlock/add one or multiple engrams to be craftable. That way, the "only" change that needs to be done is in the "engram-learning stage". Or do you see further issues with that idea, that I'm missing? Aak the mod maker. Oh wait, he has no plans for it. Not the mod maker's fault, I think. As I understand it, consoles don't allow mods unless they are DLC. Also: I think the question was "when will the S+ integration be available for the console versions for Ark?" and to that I don't have a good answer, but I confidently guess not before it's out of beta on PC. So for you on console, look for the changes to get out of beta and I believe you'll get it at the same time or not too far after Too broken in vanilla gameplay. Really? In what way? I was actually really hoping for this... Nope. Agreed - all those NPCs in S+ I believe to be too automated for the devs to be interested in integrating them in vanilla.
  12. This brings another thought - maybe an engram rework in the future? With there being so many different building part variations, especially now with the triangular parts being added (don't get me wrong, that's great!), a lot of engram points go into speccing buildings. What about grouping together certain items into one engram? A simple example would be an engram sloped wood wall which, when learned, would allow the player to craft both left and right sloped wood walls. Of course, there could be other granularities, where for instance an engram wooden wall could teach the player how to craft all wooden walls: wooden wall, sloped wood wall left, sloped wood wall right.
  13. Something I just noticed... The image shows railings on the ramps, but that is not mentioned in the change list. I wonder if the railings are coming as well? I actually hope not, because if one looks closely, they see that the railings are not new models but only the original model rotated: This looks a bit weird, not to mention it doesn't meld very well with the railings on the ceilings. If I compare it to how S+ does it (see image below), where the railings have new models that meld well (or, at least, better) with railings on ceilings, I do hope they get an extra iteration
  14. One thing I'm wondering about - if we use the AlwaysAllowStructurePickup option set to true, will that mean that you always pick up structures by pressing the Use key when looking at them (that's what I assume "quick pickup" means) - so that we're at a risk of picking up structures when trying to pick up/use something close to them? Use Case: I have Dimetrodons on a stone foundation and try to pick up their eggs - that's not always easy and sometimes I have to look away a bit to get the pickup - if I miss, will I risk picking up the stone foundation? Use Case 2: I have a flyer parked right next to a wall and run to it quickly to jump on and fly away - will I risk picking up the wall if I aim a bit wrong before pressing the Use key? I disagree slightly... As far as I understand, the dino leash still allows the dinos to move (granted, I haven't used it myself yet), whereas the hitching post immobilises the dinos as well, which I love. I'll still miss that aspect of the hitching post. Also, as someone else stated, it's only in Extinction and on top of that there are cosmetic and usability differences that are, to me, in the hitching post's favour. For instance, I like how you specifically choose which dinos to hitch and that there isn't a range marker (red ring) on the ground. What I miss the most, though, is that roofs align with foundations so that one can build better on slopes (especially if there are no stackable foundations) Lastly, another hand up here for stackable foundations! :) Also, I hope the S+ quirk of fence foundations not being snappable to the edges of roofs doesn't carry over :) I need that to make my 45 degree turns in my water pen :P Currently I need to still use the vanilla fence foundations to make it work (or I'm missing something, but I've really tried a lot). With all this said, I'm not worried or displeased at all. I have a few questions and a couple of remaining desires, but I'm amazed and thrilled about these changes and it has been well worth the wait! Excited to see the new textures as well! Great job!!
  15. Oh, yes, YES! It really hurts my OCD that you get extra levels for beating Aberration but not Scorched Earth (and not Extinction?) ??? Also, with many new engrams I'd love some more engram points so I can spec more. (Logged in for the first time in like half a year just to agree ferociously with you guys ) I do, pretty please I'm actually really excited about the winter event
  16. Love how the direbear will be able to collect honey! Just... it can't climb, can it? If not, I feel that ability somewhat wasted as most of the bee hives I see are quite high up on rocks or in trees. Would love for the bear to be able to climb up to the honey!
  17. And really? Is there no way to update to it if you're not running SteamCMD? That's.... wow, no words! Why aren't the Steam beta branches being used if they want to keep it optional (which is my way of giving them the benefit of the doubt this isn't just due to halfassedness)? That way you can choose it from the Steam interface and it would work for non-SteamCMD dedicated servers as well as single player. They really seem to want to discourage people from playing single player
  18. I second this! The halloween event was the same - very insufficient instructions and with the short time span I never managed to activate it. On Steam I can open the properties for a game and go to the beta tab to chose a beta. Would expect it to be in that drop down list, but I only have "NONE - Opt out of all beta programs" and "oldbuild"...
  19. WOW! You're just gonna pretend like you didn't piss off a lot of people? I mean, closing your eyes as a kid might make you believe things went away, but you *must* have grown up since then?!
  20. @DaEndGame and @GamerPerfection I do realise this : ) I was merely clarifying since you, DaEndGame had missed the text. However, thanks for your replies : ) And I was hoping that upon highlighting this mistake, the devs or someone who knew would address it and let us know whether they are cancelling it altogether or just postponing it.
  21. The very first row mentions it: Then no questions answered nor is the lack thereof addressed, which confuses me (and possibly others).
  22. Which part is considered the digest? Are there no questions answered for this week's digest?
  23. Survivor, Jazzop, asks, "Any chance you can add a hotkey to change arrow type, maybe hold down the crossbow hotbar selection and press another button to switch from tranqs to normal." @Jazzop I really want to know this, too. I hope you ask your question again Switching ammo without going into the inventory would be great!
  24. Not sure what you mean with "the people who gather their player bases information". The site we're currently on is the official site for the creators of the game, but they are limited by Microsoft's rules for seasonal content. I think the hoops they have to jump through is a bigger issue than the price tag, but sure, that's an argument that could be made However, I believe PC custom servers have the option to enable or disable seasonal content... maybe that content is included for you on xbox so that you can enable it on your own servers. Or maybe, even, it's included, but inactivated, in an upcoming patch so that it can be activated at the proper time in the future? I don't know at all - both of these options are plausible to the best of my knowledge. I suggest you ask about it for a digest - so many people are interested in it that they might take the opportunity to address the issue. Good luck!
  25. I'm sorry for you, I really am. But if you read what others have posted in this thread before complaining, you would know that it's because of Microsoft's rules that it's very difficult/expensive to have seasonal events. It really is no use complaining to Wildcard about it. You would be much better off complaining to Microsoft that they might see that their player base wants this and consider a change of policy. I don't think the Xbox will get the event, unfortunately (see my above response, and also multiple answers in this thread before mine). Maybe no events ever, maybe no events during Early Access. The rest of the patch you most certainly will get sooner or later! That has nothing to do with it (see my responses above), and really, the whole "we are not important"-whine is not going to help. ALL of us are important to Wildcard and they are working hard to deliver the same content to Xbox as they do to PC (which are, by the way, the guinea pigs so that when the content does reach Xbox, it's more polished and less buggy), in spite of Microsoft's rules making it hard! Really, if you want to whine, take it to Microsoft, because that's where the problem is.
