  1. It has been a while. Time to play has been really limited. During Fear Evolved I had to prepare to defend my thesis. Which unfortunately cut my time short. Graduating was a priority, but at least I succeeded. I did fire up Ark for a bit. So, here a recap of several short session First I brought some Giga’s over to the Island. Mainly to actually see the Dodorex for the first time. Been playing for years, but never actually seen it in game 😅 Had day and night drift by, when I finally got the messages it had arrived. We went on the hunt and managed to slay the beast! Three of my Giga’s died, but they were expendable. This ordeal actually took two play sessions, but seeing the Dodorex was worth it. Hopefully, next year I’ll be on Scorched to see the Dodowyvern. But with the amount I play I’m not counting on it… Next up: A taming spree on Ragnarok. Ragnarok is and will always be my home. It also is my save where I can do and cheat whatever I want. I mainly used this to hoard Wyverns over the weekend. Either high level or just plain pretty. My home base next to the green obi has become a bit laggy though. It is still very playable, but annoying. So, I wanted to build a new base for my Wyverns and maybe a few other creatures. I also had the urge to just destroy my current base and rebuild it. But it was a real pain to actually finish, undoing all that work is kind of painful 😂. This lead up to my latest session More recent: Was home rather early after work yesterday, and having spent a couple hours outside of the office helped with my motivation to play. First I did a dino scan, to see if anything interesting was around. A 360 Tek-Anky. Well, I’m not one to pass something like that up. The scan said it should have been on one of the safer island, close to the swamp. Hopped on Shakan (my Ice Wyvern) and flew over. Passed over all of them several times, saw several Anky’s, but not the one I was looking for 😭. In the end I gave up and returned home. Went out again. This time to scout for a location for my new Wyvern Keep (name still undecided). I’d already thought of building around the castle on one of the plateau’s there. So, it was the first place a flew towards. Kept an I out for interesting creaturea, but nothing notable popped up. Did raid a beverdam for some paste. Although my Achatina’s have been breeding like crazy, even with mating turned of. I’ll have enough paste to last. Anyway, reached the castle. Killed a skeletal Bronto, who was still wandering around, and went to look for a decent location. Eventually decided on a small ‘island’, without ground access. Started laying some foundations, and decided to expand it with a bridge. It will probably turn into a full fledged base at some point, but it may be a good thing. I’ve been stuck next to green obi for years now. My initial plan turned into something different, with the way my foundation turned out. However I do like it. Now to think about the continuation into something useful and decent looking. Till next time! Which may take awhile again 😅
  2. A recap of yesterday. Again didn’t play for very long, but I did accomplish a few things. When I logged on the goal was to get to level 16 and build a raft. So, I started gathering the materials. After doing that I wanted to get a berry collector. My target became the Parasaur I tried to kill yesterday. Level 30 and very colourful. Bola’d her and clubbed her in the face. Knocked her out, put Mejo’s in her and waited. Easy tame in a quiet area, when she stood up I named her Danny. We walked back home and I made a saddle. this sped up the narcotic making process considerably. Anyways, went on the harvest wood, stone and flint. Also to make sparkpowder. Till I finally got to the level of making a raft. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough hide. So, I took Danny and we killed a pig walking nearby. Harvest it and crafted the raft. In the meantime I had levelled up to the point of tranq arrows. Crafted a bunch of those. When I heard walking nearby. A level 36 Tek-Anky had wandered next to base, without back up. She took about half my arrows, but went down and tamed without a hitch. I named her Bunny. No idea why, but it suits her. As a better dino she can harvest without being ridden. Took her near a few river rocks next to base and got a bit over 100 metal. Threw those in the forge. Then I finally took the raft for a spin. Hoping to find crystal, drops and maybe something else. Went around the lake and only found to drops. Got ghillie boots from one, the other contained a adobe door Went back home. Killed another pig wandering nearby and crafted a crossbow.
  3. Wanted to play a bit after work, but actually getting to that point took much longer than expected: Today I wiped my Valguero save to start fresh and it was a struggle. Even though I only played about an hour. Spawned in at the small islands. Obvious and relatively easy first place. Got a small thatch hut going immediately. Followed by the hunt for hide. My first target, a level 30 pig. Attacked it and lost it in the vegetation several times. I remembered how much i dislike the bushes on Valguero. They are a pain. Lost the pig completely and gave up. Decided to go for something that would attack instead of run. 30 Stego. You can probably guess how that turned out. I died six times. First time to the Stego. 2nd and 3rd time it ignored me but its buddy didn’t. I also hit a Trike in the proces one time. At least my corpse gave me some meat. Next target was a Parasaur. It ran and of course I lost it. Pachy was next. It killed me in seconds. I don’t think I’ve ever died this much in a playtrough. But it actually is refreshing 😅. Gave up hunting and decided to just level op and try to get to 16 for the raft. But then! In the fading light I saw the dead figure of a Megalodon sticking out of the water. You bet I swam right over, being careful this time. Harvested it and finally got some hide! Crafted a bed and mortar and pestle. Made a few narcotics and called it a night after that. If I play again tomorrow the adventure will continue and hopefully I’ll be able to tame a decent berry harvester or exploring mount to hunt some drops. Although a raft may be a better choice to do so
  4. Again, didn’t do to much this morning. Started of checking on imprint timers. Went out and did a dino scan. Finally a high level Mosa popped up. Flew over there. Finding it was actually the hard part, as it had meshed itself through the rocks. Taming was very easy and safe. Podded her and went back home. My wyvern wanted to walk. Did that and hatched dimorph eggs after. Few keepers, twin males with all the stats. All Megatherium babies were killed, again. Female Theri matured, male is at 80%. Giga’s are at 75%. Deinonychus’s grew up. Put them all next to each other and compared them. Only kept a pair, others killed. Did the same to my Argies, killed 4 out of 8 and one Snow Owl. After a short session went to look at some modded maps. I need to start over somewhere as a noob again and grow, instead of having everything.
  5. After being obligated to show my face at a birthday, I lasted two hours, went home and fired up Ark just to relax before heading of to bed. Thus a very short session. Started and had to wait about halve an hour to imprint one of my Giga’s again. During the update this morning I added a few mods (not sure wether I’ll keep them or not. One of them added more animals. Dino scan showed a 300 Snow Leopard. Which I tamed. It is a very pretty animal. After that I visited the Fire Wyvern trench. Snatched a 350 egg. Teleported back and put it in the hatchery. Imprint timer was down to 6 minutes, waited it out, and cuddled my bright blue R-Giga. The other two had a 10 minute timer. Hatched the wyvern egg. Female, in contrast to the male earlier to day. She is prettier as well. Not really colours I personally like, but they are my first two ‘large’ wyverns on Fjordur. Once they grow up I’ll breed them to combine their stats. Male has better weight. Which is about it though. Anyway, walked the two other Giga’s when they asked for it. Also unpodded the carno’s I tamed this morning. All female unfortunately. Unpodded the R-Giga. Stats aren’t any good, but he is a pretty colour. Red and white. May breed his colour into the line in the future.
  6. Started of imprinting my 3 Giga’s. Did a dino scan and came up with a list of the ones I wanted. Tamed 6 Yuty’s, 3 Griffins, a snow owl 4 Carno’s, 2 Wolfs, 2 X-Allo’s, a Deinosuchus, a Quetz, another R-Giga and 4 X-Anky’s. I also started working on a new building, but got distracted and teleported to my old base to get al my Deinonychus eggs. Hatched them all. Only kept 4, this may change when they grow up. I need to pay more attention to their stats. Anyway, another imprint on my Giga’s (hour timers). Bred my now grown op Megatherium male to the female. No keepers so far. Did finally get a useful Theri, female with almost all the stats and a male with the other. When they grow up I’ll breed them. After taming the Griffins, I compared the stats with the ones I currently have. Killed 3 of them. With the SS Mutator I could breed them in the future, but my boss fight creatures are a priority right now.
  7. Learned today that singleplayer on Fjordur is very buggy. Which explains the problems I’ve been having. Luckily singleplayer also offers ways around these problems. Started of the day breeding Megatheriums, first baby killed. Letting the timer run down, I wen to get groceries. New baby just popped when I came back. Killed, again. Teleported to my autumn base to do a dino scan. 5 High level Therizino’s. 3x 300 and 2x 290. Tamed them all. Two weren’t any good. Put the other at base, close to a hatchery and let them breed. Also brought my Megatheriums over again to the autumn base. Second round there, finally gave me keepers. Male twins with 3 out of 4 stats. I only have work the stamina in there from the female. Raised both, just in case something went wrong. Popped first Therizino babies. Two got a mutation, so I podded them for later. In between timers I redid the lower level of my base. Set the R-Giga’s to breed and dino scan showed a 280 normal Giga. Tamed it. Was female, one I have is male. Bred them as well. First baby from my R-Giga’s gave me a male with all the stats! Of course I get lucky with Giga’s and not with Megatheriums whom I actually need… Third baby, female with all the stats and a mutation in health. First normal Giga baby, all the stats and a mutation in melee. Not complaining, but why not in creatures I really need 😭. Anyways, the Megatheriums are almost grown. Giga’s are Juvenile. All was well. Spawned a Fenrir, as I can’t visit Jotunheim. Tamed her and bred her to the one I had. Baby didn’t get the good stats, killed. Also tamed another Kentro, two Anky’s and a Stego.
  8. Lately it has been a lot of one step forward and several steps back with Ark. Got on and bred my Megatheriums, babies weren’t any good. After waiting around in between timers, I eventually went out and did a dino scan to see what was out there. 300 R-Giga, yes please! Got her tamed up and podded her. 280 X-Dunkleo and he had almost beached himself. Easy tame, next to him a 280 Angler and Xiphactinus. Got them both. Teleported back to base and threw all three creatures in my pen. Then teleported to Jotunheim. Arrived and got the message your, all water creatures, were killed. Lost everything. Closed Ark and loaded an older save. Back to before I tamed everything, bred, collected and organised items and creatures. Re-tamed everything. Build a new level to my autumn base. That way I can breed my new Giga’s. As the Giga I tamed was female and I already got a male. Build an elevator to the lower level and blocked it off with Behemoth gates and pillars. My bronto resides on this level, as do my two Acro’s. Went up and visited a close by red drop. Ascendat compound bow, crossbow and a saddle (don’t remember which one). Relocated my Megatheriums to my autumn base. Much easier than teleporting back and forth. Still no useful babies. Wasn’t thinking and teleported to Jotunheim again. This time I was nowhere near my water creatures. Arrived, and got the same message. Lost everything, again. Quit, reloaded the old save again. It put me back about 4 hours. Actually quit again, because I was to tired to play and do everything again. If I feel like it, I may fire Ark up back later on tonight.
  9. When I played last sunday, it wasn’t very active. Meshed through a rock when exploring on my newly bred Basilo twice. Loaded an older save the first time it happened. I ended up in an even worse situation as I couldn’t retrieve the items I gathered that second time. Today I reloaded the first save where I meshed. Retrieved my items, and teleported to base. Went on to relocate some more materials and animals from my old base to my “Autumn Base”, as I haved dubbed it. Tamed 4 Argies. Got a few better stats than I currently have. Mainly in stamina and health. I will get to breeding then eventually, if I don’t forget. So much to do, so little time… Anyway grabbed a few drops. Got another Pteranodon saddle bp. It is actually better than the ones I’ve got. Although I don’t really use them much. Maybe after breeding some with notable stats they can be useful for egg runs. Which is something I also did today. Managed to snatch a 340, 200, 190 and 95 Fire one. This trench on Fjordur only houses fire ones. Great for focussing on just the one type. The 340 is currently in the hatchery, By the time I had done all this. My female megatherium grew up. Killed the three others and bred her with my wild tamed male. unfortunately, no real keepers. Got a female with a mutation. Podded her. All the others were male and didn’t get all the stats. I will breed then again tomorrow, and hopefully I can get a pair of them to continue this line. In between I may visit Jotunheim to see if the Ice wyverns over there have laid eggs and I want a female Fenrir. At the same time I also want to go back to the Island to continue my official journey, but I want my Megatherium, Frog and Therizino line to be done first. Which, with the rate I’m playing will probably take another year 😅
  10. Been awhile since I last played, but atleast I got a lot done on Fjordur today. Started of by breeding my Megatherium’s and after four babies I managed to get three keepers. A set of twins, both female and a male. Now to combine the three, in order to get the weight, melee and stamina in. Later on I found a wild male with better health. So, I’ll breed that in once I’m done. Also went on a taming spree. Got 5 Megalodons, kept 4. Two M and two F. Bred them and got a M with all the high stats from one pair, and a F from the other! Once they matured I bred them and got another set of twins, M and F. Not sure about the stats yet. Also tamed: Three Basilo’s. Bred them, baby isn’t anything special. Liopleurodon, a normal one and two X, both female unfortunately. Three Anglers. All low level. Two manta’s, M and F. Six Xiphactinus, three of them are abyssal. All Male. I build a pen for them in a lake, almost next to my base. Will expand it in the future and may even move my base on the water. The none aquatic creatures I tamed, where two Griffins and a Giga. Finding a high level one has been extremely rare in all my SP games. So, I couldn’t pass up the 290 roaming close to my old base. Whilst searching for aquatic tames I came across a cave filled with Magmasaurs. Ran out before I got roasted by 8 of them 😂. Went back to base and threw some stuff out I collected from drops. Nothing noticeable unfortunately. Anyway, after my Megatheriums matured, I bred them. No keepers, killed them. I also grabbed three more Deinonychus eggs. They are in the hatchery waiting for me. Popped over to Ragnarok. Went hunting for Dimorphodons. Found a couple of high level ones. Shot down a 290 and it fell through the map 😔. Cheated and spawned one in to repeat the process. I’ll have to check later if they have any notable stats.
  11. Been awhile since I last played. Was actively playing some other games and also haven't had the energy to fire up ark. This is a compilation of small sessions here and there. Continued breeding Megatheriums on Fjordur. Still no success. The game just doesn't want me to have a baby with all the stats. Planned on expanding to a area below, but the terrain is very uneven and placing a behemoth gate just looks weird 😅. Need to plan some more and work out how to exactly encorporate the lower area. Decorated my base a bit, but didn't do anything else of note. On Ragnarok I just messed around. Flying about, murdering low level creatures. Hoping something useful would pop up. No luck again. Seems Ark hasn't been on my side me the times I played. Hopefully I will find some more energy to just play for a bit on a more regular basis. Although I just got a new job, so that probably won't happen...
  12. Spent more time working on my base. Added a house for myself with a nice porch. It’s got some really nice views. Beneath my house I built storage for weapons, saddles and their blueprints. Built houses around my forge, replicator and one for a grinder, fabricator and chem bench. After that I teleported back to my old base to collect all the items and resources. Went back and forth for those, as well as to bring my dino’s over. Birds are all on the roof, megatherium/Fenrir and kento in the stable. Erin is located next to my house, same goes for my doeds and ankylo’s. The latter two still need designated area’s, but I had no inspiration for new buildings. Also found a chainsaw in a drop. Killed a brachiosaurus on my way to another drop. Collected a ton of hide. This will really help fill my hide storage for saddle’s in the future. After I filled my troughs with meat, I called it a day.
  13. Continued working on my base on Fjordur for a bit. Finished the roof of the large building, made it flat in order to house all my flyers. Also brought my Quetz over for measurements. Added a storage building and organised it. After that I started working on my perimeter wall. My base should now be safe, as I added several plant species X to block any unwanted guest. Brought Bane (Acro) over to see if he would fit and I actually have a lot more space then I originally thought. To think of the future I build and elevator, which is connected to the plateau below. I can easily wall that one off, for more space.
  14. Played for a bit last night as well, went flying around to scout for a base location, again. Flew over two of the islands several times. When I kept going back to a certain area with autumn coloured trees, on the largest island. Decided that this area will be my main base location, for now atleast. It is has a very nice view and a larger flat area than I thought at first. Started with the constructing of the base. Small crafting area overlooking a large portion of the map. It was meant to be my personal house. But it turned into a stable 😅. It has small sections for shoulder pets. This map contains the Abberation shoulder pets, which I would like to tame. As well as dimorphodons and otters. After constructing the rest I quickly went and retrieved the two Shadowmanes. Used them to decide on the layout of the stable. By then it was getting late, so I called it a night. This morning I logged onto Ragnarok. Had my Shadowmane baby from yesterday out. Whilst he matured and waited on the imprint timer, I did some housework. Finished right around the time of the imprint. Again, waiting for him to mature, I ran the desert drops. Got an ascendant sniper rifle! Nothing else of worth. After that I flew through both the wyvern areas with Destro (Griffin). No eggs unfortunately, killed several low level wyverns. When I got home my baby matured. Put him in line with the other Shadowmanes and bred him to the high stamina female. They popped a female baby with a mutation. Not what I needed, but cryo'd her anyways. May find a use for her later.
  15. Started the day on Genesis 2. Tamed a few more Shadowmanes and a nice R-Quetzal. Uploaded all of them, including the Shadowmanes I tamed before, and the items I collected. Went to Ragnarok and downloaded everything. Put the Shadowmanes in a row and the Quetzal on a perch. Took a look at their stats and bred a high health female to a male. Popped a male with her health on the first try! Will raise him and breed him to my high melee/stamina female and high weight female. Hopefully, I can get a baby with the colour from my high melee/stamina female. She has a light greyish colour that I want to combine with another male. He has this colour on the top of his head, which she hasn’t. Two of the tamed Shadowmanes were now ‘useless’. So, I uploaded them again. Plan is to download them on Fjordur and use them there.
  16. This is more a recollection of the past few days. None were really notable or anything. Started out Wednesday exploring and running into a cave. It has been a long time since I’ve been in this particular cave, and I was admiring the scenery and area I hadn’t seen before. Couple of minutes later: You were eaten by a level 370 Rock Drake. I knew they were in this cave, so I should have known better 😅. Anyway, retrieved my stuff, Erin and Otter. Hopefully this Drake will lay an egg at some point, but with my luck I’m not counting on it. Yesterday was a short breeding session for my Megatheriums. Nothing notable. Found a nice Acro, 280 Female, tamed her. Today was spent exploring (again). For some reason I cannot seem to decide on an actual base location. I just keep going around making screenshots. It is really difficult finding a spot where I want to build. Maybe I need to make a checklist and use that to cross reference with different locations. (Which is actually a good idea, now I think about it.). Anyway, stole two more Deinonychus eggs, 320 & 370. They’re currently in the hatchery. Also tamed a 300 Argentavis with very high melee, but again female. Now I really need a male.
  17. Started the day exploring a new area on Fjordur that just released. I keep saying this map is pretty, and the new area is no exception. Flew about, stole a poison wyvern egg, only 30 so I ate it. Tamed a very pretty Tapejara and Pteranodon. Also found a high level Deinosuchus, 280. Most of the time they are < 100. Took a bit of time, but tamed him. I got Kapro’d during the taming proces, but easily got rid of it. Teleported back home and checked on Megatherium. Two babies, killed one. The other is female with same stats as the mother. Will raise her to breed with the male as well. Re-organised some of my storage boxes. Flew around some more. Found a very pretty stego, only 50 but tamed anyway, and a max level Stego, also tamed her. On the way back a bright red argy was flying about. “Couldn’t resist so I got her too. I have two now, both female unfortunately. So, I need to find them a mate.
  18. Bred Megatheriums twice today, killed all babies. In between cool down I explored some more, didn’t get far though. Found about 8 Deinonychus nests. Took all the eggs, kept only 3. Hatched them, 1 female 350, others male 300 and 310. Kept them for now. Also hatched some bred eggs, killed the babies. I also have one adult deinonychus male that I can kill. He doesn’t have a good stat compared to the others.
  19. Didn’t have the inspiration to continue expanding my base on Fjordur. Ended up flying around on my crystal wyvern, whom has how earned the name Daisy. I’m still looking for a new base location, but can’t seem to find one that works for me. During my flight I spotted a cave in the distance, it was filled with dung beetles! Tamed three, two 280 females and a 300 male, killed the others. I flew around the redwoods again, the thyla’s seem to hang out on the ground more then on trees. Eventually I noticed another cave, took a peak, and it was filled with insects. Now I really want a Megatherium to go in there and gather chitin. So, time to look for them. The redwoods only houses low level ones. Flew to another island, same story. Teleported home, starting from there is faster. Went to the other snow area. Before reaching the area a 300 Anky popped up, with a high weight roll. She was almost dead, but managed to snatch her away. Brought her home and tamed her before setting out again. This time I did reach the snow. Again the Megatherium’s were low level. Got distracted when a high level Snow owl popped up. I’ve only seen leven < 100 so far. Tamed it and a nearby high level Argy. Continued the search, circled the snow and found one, a female! Tamed her and sent her home, few minutes later another female! Also tamed her. Now I was running out of time, because of an appointment, but I really wanted to find a male. Flew around when I noticed a Mammoth with something stuck inside of it. 280 Male! Managed to lure the Mammoth away and plucked the Megatherium of the ground. Flew him home and knocked him out there. Safe and sound, giving me the opportunity to leave him there and get ready. Once he was tamed compared the stats of all three. Male has high melee and stamina. Female has higher health. The other female doesn’t have the best stats, but her weight is still better than the others. Didn’t have to chance to breed them, that will have to wait till tonight/tomorrow.
  20. Added a storage building to my base on Fjordur. Just a simple square box. I plannen on adding buildings to it, that’s why I am leaving it as is for now. After that I took my Acro out to hunt and gather hide. Came home with plenty, although I had a lot of trouble finding larger dino’s in the beginning. Only managed to find up to the size of a stego. Of course when you want to hunt Bronto’s they aren’t around. Found them eventually, it took me quite a distance from my base, but I also managed to snatch two more Deinonychus eggs. Hatched one, finally a female! Terrible stats, but I’ll use her to breed the male stat’s into a line. After hunting I wanted to start on my farm. On my first day of exploring I came across a farm, didn’t take anything. Which I should have. Flew around the entire map trying to find it. Also tamed a Maewing whilst doing so and hunting several drops. I found another Rex saddle, bp this time! It has 286 armour and really low cost. Which is strange, compared to the Basilo saddle I found has around the same armour and requires 10x the amount of resources. Anyway, during my search for the farm I found a cave with Itsy and Bitsy, two broodmothers, each with 500k health. Erin and I ran as fast as we could out of there. If I want to take them one I need to tame Megatheriums and probably breed them. I continued searching and was very close to home when I finally found the farm (of course it is close to home…). Farm had all the veggie’s, so I got al the seeds I needed. Went home and planted them. Close to home I also tamed a Quetz, decent stats and she has a bright red body. Afterwards I went to Ragnarok. Mainly to hunt for drops, but unfortunately nothing notable came out of it. Tried to run the Ice Worm Queen, but she wouldn’t spawn. It was probably because I was riding Sefra and not walking normally. Came back home and found out my two adolescent Giga’s had starved to death. One of my troughs was empty. Which is strange cause I always have them stocked. They should have been in range of another trough nearby, one that did have meat in it. I’ll just have to breed them again and completely fill the troughs just to be sure.
  21. Added three buildings to my base on Fjordur. One greenhouse and two stables. Although they fare probably not the most space efficient buildings, I think they turned out fine. One will be used to house my Deinonychus’s. This will be the first time I actively use them, as I haven’t spent much time on Valguero. Also the reason why I snatched several eggs today. I only kept three of them, the others where low level. Unfortunately, after hatching them, they all turned out the be male. For now I decided on keeping them, their stats are all different and may be useful. Anyways, the two stables are connected and you can only reach one through the other. Underneath the bridge between the two buildings I can store either small creatures or two Stego sized dino’s. The larger of the two stables can house up to an Allosaurus. One of which I also tamed today. Other than that I tamed a Griffin, but there was not much action going on. I did however found a ascendant Rex saddle, just over a 100 armour, in a red drop. The first Rex be I’ve ever found! For now I’m keeping it as a saddle, but I may turn it into a bp in the future.
  22. Continued exploring on Fjordur. Was also the only thing I did today. Tomorrow I plan to continue expanding my base. Although my goal was to explore and try and find a new base location, I kept getting distracted by the environment. So, I just rode around and took in the scenery. Found a large mine and the Rock Drakes hiding in there. Also got surprised by the radiation, but just quickly continued and got out. Whilst running around a large blue shape appeared. R-Giga, 290. Turned around as fast as I could and bolted. Erin may be strong, but a Giga is a step to far. Luckily I saw it in time, we got out of there with little trouble. There also seemed to be a lot of microraptors around. We out ran them, except for one time, where they jumped out of the bushes. After exploring one of the islands, I teleported to the red obi. Magmasaurs where running around everywhere. Seemed to dangerous to go about on Erin, decided to bring in my wyvern and we flew around for a while before I returned home. Back at base I ditched resources and bp’s I collected, before teleporting over to Jotunheim. Very quiet area, not a lot of dino’s around, I did manage to snatch a 190 Ice wyvern egg. No wyverns in sight, got away easily. Found the map exclusive animal the Fenrir, tamed two of them. Both male unfortunately, but had no luck in finding any others. Hopefully a next visit will be more fruitful.
  23. Started on Ragnarok. After yesterday’s session I also played in the evening for a bit, and managed to grab 2 380 lightning eggs. Almost lost Destro, my griffin, because I wasn’t paying enough attention to his health. Invested his levels into health, which I hadn’t focussed on enough. Today I hatched those eggs, decent stats, ugly colours. Blue belly, grey spikes, purple body and dark wings. It looks messy. Both male, keeping them because they are the highest ones I found after starting this playthrough. After having altered my rates I looked at my active animals. I believe they are better balanced this way, but I need to play more to prove this. Went back to Fjordur. I am starting to really like this map, and I haven’t even explored half of it. My focus for the day was starting a base, using the Castle, Keep & Fortresses mod. Because the pieces are rather expensive, I used creative mode. I like building, although I am not very good at it. Created several different buildings. A main house with bedroom, office and large kitchen. Played around with decoration, which I never really did in the past. Ark doesn’t have many decorative pieces, but playing around with boxes, trofee cases etcetera dit make it more interesting. It also has a garden, though empty at the moment. I tamed a Doedi and Anky in it. The area I’m in has several spawns, along with many deinonychus and nests. Anyway, second building houses 2 CKF forges an a small stable for two Anky’s next to it. Build two small 1 x 1 sheds for a tek generator and an SS hatchery, and a large building covering a tek replicator. The last building is a stable. It is a really odd shape and there actually isn’t much room, but I like it. Hopefully, it will force me to not leave a lot of unnecessary dino’s scattered around. With this base I’m trying to be more innovative with the space. Although it is highly likely that I will move, if I find a better spot. After building for a couple of hours, I took a Thyla (later named Erin) and started exploring from a ground level. Earlier on Ragnarok I uploaded a Thyla, Otter, a few weapons and armour. When I retrieved it, I crashed, lost al the items. Crashing is a rare occurance for me. In my time playing Ark I’ve only crashed a couple of times, but apparantly uploading and collecting things/creatures is something I need to be more careful of in the future. I’ve definitely seen complaints about this problem, never really thought much of it, until now. I am glad that playing SP grant me the opportunity to fix whatever i lost. Back to exploring: Just randomly started and travelled around the different layers of the map. There are a lot of height differences and several underground area’s. Many of which I still need to uncover. Meanwhile I found a 300 Acro, obviously couldn’t resist, a 300 Kentro with a black body and a Tapejara whom I managed to knock out in one hit. I came across a set of small ruins which seemed interesting. Had to dump myself down a well and found an underground tunnel, with a need looking spectacle at the end. Seemed disappointing to have it end there, but it wasn’t! Got through a secret tunnel with a loot crate beholding an Ascendant Pteranodon saddle. Further along the way I found an artefact. First one! Felt rewarding to go through a cave without ever having seen any of it and finding the artefact. On the way out, took a different tunnel, I got jumped by a Purlovia. Luckily Erin tanked the hit and killed it afterwards. Got my guard up and managed to be prepared for the other two. Killed them easily. Exit out of the tunnel, into the night. Again a sneaky Purlovia got me. Kept going, over mountains, through valleys. Visited some of the interesting sights I found yesterday: a fortress in the snow, and a mine with an enormous pit beneath the path. Eventually ended up near the green obi, when dinner was ready. I have been on a roll playing the past few day and will definitely continue exploring tomorrow. If anyone is looking for a new map to explore. Definitely check out Fjordur. The quality is amazing, and it is very different from the official maps.
  24. Started on Ragnarok today. Continued hunting for decent dino’s to start new lines, unfortunately I didn’t have luck finding Rex’s or Therizino’s. Got one of each, neither with outstanding stats. Did find more Acro’s, and managed to snatch a 370 Fire egg, horrendous colours, but good melee. Also payed a visit to the wyvern cove. There is a 380 lightning wyvern lurking around, hopefully it will lay an egg in the future. Whilst hunting a came across an almost max level tek griffin (don’t exactly know which mod it is from), looks really cool. Quickly popped over to the Center in te hopes of finding some high level Giga’s, found two! 300 and 290 with fairly decent stats. Tamed them and uploaded them. Went back to Ragnarok to retrieve them: crashed whilst downloading. Lost the 300, but decided to cheat and spawn one in of the same level. Bred them and out of 3 eggs I kept the 2 females. Will use them to continue breeding. Also went thyla hunting, managed to find 4 high level ones. Only 1 female unfortunately, but I am currently in the process of breeding them. When I get decent offspring one will be sent to Fjordur. I checked out Fjordur today, have had it for a while and explored it in the very beginning. A lot has changed, and it is gorgeous. Had brought over a crystal wyvern to make exploring easier, but I definitely want to check it out on foot (with a decent thyla). Definitely need to set up a real base, although I am still not sure where to build. Currently, I have a bed in one of the ruins. A spot I really like, but probably won’t be a permanent location.
  25. Hello everyone, new member to the forum here. Before telling you what I did in Ark, let me give a short explanation of my play style: I exclusively play singe player and some what on a irregular basis, due to time and energy constraints. Starting out on PS4 just after Ragnarok had released, I made the switch to PC about a year and a half ago, when I finally got a gaming PC. I currently play with several mods and boosted rates on different maps, but Ragnarok is my unbeaten favourite. Mods I use are: Super Structures, Ark Additions, Kraken’s better Dino’s, Awesome Spyglass/Teleporter, CFK and specifiek ones for Valguero and Crystal Isles and my level cap is 300. This is going to be a recap of what I did yesterday and today. Both taking place on Ragnarok. Yesterday I decided to clean up the mess that were my hatcheries. All littered around my base. Instead of cleaning out the ones that were full, I just kept adding new ones. Same goes for dino’s that I have had on mating for a very long time. The combined results where hundreds of eggs. Without any focus on correctly combining stats and colour on any of them. My main focus is more on combining colours I want together, rather than stats. The rates I currently use kind of eliminate the need to breed for stats. My creatures, even tamed ones, are hilariously OP. This is something I still need to adjust, to make it more of a challenge. Anyway, I hatched almost all the eggs that I had stocked up, apart from a few ice wyverns and several Acrocanthosaurus eggs. In the end I massacred about 90% of the new babies, but kept a few which seemed decent or had some form of mutations. I am a real noob at breeding, so I am just slowly starting to see where I end up and learning in the process. One thing I did accomplish was getting an Acro which is entirely blue. Although not all the same shade, she is still quite pretty. After having gone through all those eggs, I wanted to start out with a clean base. Because most of my dino’s are all relatively old, I don’t remember if kept them at their tamed level. Which is why I was in desperate need of fresh blood and more focus on necessary stats or just pretty colours. So, I went on a taming spree. Mostly collecting more colourful Acro’s (yes, I am a hoarder when it comes to them). Other than that I tamed a Rex, two Direwolves, two Allo’s, a Therizino and a Frog. Today I continued my taming spree. Went out looking for more Rex’s or Therizino’s, but no luck there. All where at most 150 or had terrible stats. I did however get a few Mammoths, two Rhino’s, two more Direwolves and Frogs, Acro’s and a Turtle. In between taming I teleported to the desert drops to check for loot, but they weren’t impressive. Mostly saddles and ghillie, which weren’t as good as the ones I already have. I also ran the ice cave in the hopes of finding a Rex saddle, but was rewarded with two Giga saddle BP’s, one ascendant with 25% armour (because that is worth it…) and a 130% mastercraft saddle, and a ascendant Yuty saddle 56%. I have one which is 78%, so I might turn the lower one into a blueprint as a spare. Running the cave showed me I really need to bring my rates down, because my tamed Thyla (Sefra) can one shot a male Deathworm and she ate the queen for breakfast. After flying around the snow and taking out low levelled creatures I ended up just below the beaver dams, the ones close to the green obi, where I tamed the before mentioned turtle. When I jumped back on Sharten, my Ice Wyvern, I blasted the remaining creatures, but also hit E and went forward. This resulted in the cold embrace of death 😅. Did the fly of shame to retrieve my stuff, Otter (Lila) and Sharten. After that it seemed smart to call a day. Hopefully, tomorrow I have more luck finding Rex’s or Theri’s. I have never actually done a run through all the official maps, but I really want to. A while ago I made a start on The Island and I have some what of a setup, but finding high level creatures was not in my favour. So, I have decided to just do this on Ragnarok, because the odds are jbetter and in the mean time I can keep collecting Acro’s
