Path of titans actually has developers that seem to want to interact with and make their fans happy rather than filch them for all of their money. Devs that also play the game and- get this- don’t abuse their power in game for an unfair advantage.

How about, you know, revealing in real time game play? A screenshot isn’t proof of a solid work. For all we know you could’ve had some poor intern sit in a chair staring at a screen for an hour before the textures properly rendered in and things stopped falling apart at the seams to score that picture perfect shot. Show people that the game WORKS goddamnit.

Sadly it’s arguably the only clever thing they’ve done in the last few years. If you can dangle shinies in front of your consumer base and get them to “playfully” fight amongst eachother then you can be as awful as you please as long as you don’t get too crazy. I foresee a lot of shinies in the near future once more players realize some new textures, dinosaurs, and maps, doesn’t really change a buggy game.

Perhaps it could, however i’m gonna be real with you chief, considering wildcard and snail’s current handling of the game thus far even if they did decide to go through with that idea they’ve already proven that they’re not to be trusted with something as basic as considering future add ons that weren’t in the plans. If they couldn’t be trusted to give players their saves to play for free I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they agreed to look into adding them but immediately shoving them behind a paid dlc pack. Such is their greed now.

And as of the rhyniognatha they’ve presumably decided in their game that they want to only add the winners. Perhaps you and the others asking for the runner up’s inclusion should deal with that too. Physician heal thyself and all that jazz. Also maybe don’t presume this is about ego considering I’m not even planning to buy ASA and will use literally none of these creatures anyway. Victory or loss of these tames won’t affect me, I just dislike seeing a voting system invalidated whenever it occurs.

The prize is literally stated and has been the same since the first vote: the winner gets put in the game. Winner, singular. It’s a competition regardless of what they label it because it’s based on elimination of candidates until one remains. Acting as if it’s been any other way is being unaware of how a competition works at best and willful ignorance at worst. Saying they can’t add every single one in the game stops being a viable thing to point out when you preface it with “add the runner up”. Why not the runner up’s runner up? Why not the runner up’s runner up’s runner up? Get where I’m going with this? Saying it’s just a game doesn’t change the fact that in an elimination match there can only be one number one

There’s no point in a ranked vote if you state that one (1) creature wins the prize just invalidate it by adding the ones who lost anyway. It’s not “gatekeeping”, it’s holding to vote integrity. There’s also the issue of what happens when you add the runner-up despite the loss, that being eventually people poke and prod and demand that you at 3rd place too, then fourth, fifth, etc. until you have to devote resources to adding every submission because now they figure they can whine hard enough to make you cave. In my experience giving the grand prize to a runner-up also can also potentially mean a loss of truly quality submissions. Rather than shooting for the top every time people can decide they’ll settle for good enough to place in second. It’s unlikely but not impossible.

Now now, no need to needle them over the loss. It’s important to be graceful in victory and acknowledge that they gave it a good attempt. Keeping a stranglehold on second for the entirety of the competition is commendable.

Desmo won once and is comparatively small. Scarcely bigger than a ptera. Dinopithecus also wasn’t jumbo sized by ark standards.

It’s ironic that you claim he’s being a douche whilst also directly insulting him for little more than sharing his opinion. That aside I share his opinion at least regarding adding it in. I may enjoy the creature’s concept and even suggested abilities for it in previous iterations but I’ve also said the same thing repeatedly since the first time a vote happened: runnerups shouldn’t be added as it cheapens the vote. In a race with one gold medal you don’t break it in half for the other guy no matter how hard they fought. The tenacity is admirable yes but the fight’s over and they weren’t the victor. Adding the spider would only diminish the winner’s achievement and lead to a resurface of the issue we’ve seen since creature vote #2, I.e. “x is popular so I say add it anyway!”. Start here and next it’ll be “add gorgon too”, then “add hatze too”, etc. etc. until there’s no point in voting.

The mod preview screenshot is neat and all but it doesn’t change the fact that no one knows how well the game or even just the creature in Asa will operate until you show the damn game in action. A pretty potential tame means nothing if your consumer doesn’t know if the sheer act of moving makes it do a dying ankylo

It’d be nice to see this take the win but I’m glad that the folk responsible for its conception have the decorum to know to cut it off if it doesn’t make it this time around. Better to let it leave while people still regard it fondly than have it turn into the beetle where it keeps coming back with more and more over the top clutter

Oh yea no, courtesy of wildcard and snail holding console player saves behind a paywall those are forsaken. Really scummy in my opinion considering they already have an avenue for revenue through unofficial. Letting people just have their saves for free wouldnt impact them in the slightest.

No you can be specific on consoles for that as well, at least for levels any way. The command prompt is cheat Gmsummon “insert creature here_character_bp_c” (level) with the quotation marks. So say you want a max level on official Rex you’d put cheat Gmsummon “Rex_character_bp_c” 180. Stats will still be random but colors can be changed via the prompt cheat settargetdinocolor (region number)(color number). I’ve used both prompts enough times when making prize dinos for the in game contests we used to host on my server cluster to become fairly familiar with them.

From day one of the ASA announcement they’ve essentially just been dangling shiny keys in front of everyone to act as a distraction. At first it was concept art of upgraded assets but when people rightly ignored it and demanded to see in game progress and saves for AsE they clammed up and hoped people would forget. When people doubled down and got angry at being charged to keep their saves on single player they released another vote, then another, and yet more to come for each map. They’re really hoping people just forget or play along if they offer enough shinies. I’d be insulted if I wasn’t too busy laughing at how this will likely go down. In a way it makes me regret going for my masters in forensic science, had a been a business major this would have been an amazing choice for a report for how not to run a company.

I didn’t hear this part. I knew that they’re forcing people to pay if they want a single player world but seriously, 25 bucks? I pay somewhere around 55 for three maps at 10 slots. You guys are being ripped off. Seriously genuinely ripped off.

See the problem with demanding concessions for your group alone is that if it pulls through and you get what you want while the other guys are left to the wolves, if things go wrong on your end down the road there’s no one to help you. I suppose, I’m just concerned that a whole hoopla might occur if someone wins one and submits something that pulls ahead in the other vote as well. People might cry bias.

So just give help to the Xbox crowd? PlayStation and switch just sit out in the cold?

Again, this is primarily a suggestion for the coming maps due to the fact that fantasy creatures become more prevalent with the newer maps. It’s not as if making it an option completely weeds out the real world creatures.

2? That’s some serious optimism. Players will be lucky if they see anything new within the next decade. Assuming snail doesn’t shoot themselves in the foot and bring it all crashing down that is.

Seeing as extinction is next on the list wouldn’t it be prudent to consider lifting the real world restriction? The further along into maps it goes the higher the number of non real world creatures gets after all. Would be interesting to see what people come up with when given more wiggle room
