  1. I seem to remember a tiny lizard-like alien creature in the first Ark 2 trailer...and there were more-normal-sized-ants and whatnot so it would be nice to have more ambient creatures just...around. In LOTRO there would sometimes just be a flock of birds that would go across the sky in the distance that were never actually "close" to you and whatnot, so even just a visual like that would be nice here and there.
  2. Alright, so you know my opinions on fantasy vs realism but I think THIS one you nailed it! Large animals DO communicate with song and feeling vibrations of steps over great distances (whales, elephants...) so it could be completely viable for this animal to do so too and then adding in a "dance" adds some fun flavor without pushing it too far. THIS guy, I admit, I actually REALLY like! I'm not super big on "big bois" but THIS I want! I'd completely suck with it as I have no rhythm and I'm sure lag could throw me off a beat, but I'd give him a go! This one, Shockal, is definitely going in my top picks!!! Good luck in this round of votes, dude! I'd love to see this guy in there, he's my absolute favorite of all the BIG entries in here!
  3. it really would!!!! Tracking is something I really hope gets added to the game, especially since they mentioned Ark2 things were supposed to be able to follow your scent!
  4. Thank you so much! I don't know that we can claw our way into the top 10 but I'll be happily supporting your "kitty" if it can hang in there! I REALLY like it!
  5. Per my avatar "Thyla Life" I've come to love the thylas Ark has given us so I am all for a new one too! And man I LOVE your art!!!! Thank you for supporting team cheetah and I am here to proudly support this! If our kitty loses, I'll take yours
  6. Thank you to everyone for appreciation and support. A LOT of work has gone into this beloved cat! We've been planning on trying to get it ready for Extinction for a long time now and we still have so much art in-progress! Myself and my husband have a 2 year old daughter irl so we only get an hour or two a day to work on art which has made some of it slow-going but we have soooo many ideas and love to give with this animal!
  7. My crayon-colored just for fun "okapi" color pattern as well haha , because the team loved it so much:Also the color suggestions from my 2 year old Yes, with pink shoes colored in by her daddy per her suggestion.
  8. Thank you so very much! There has been a LOT of work put into this kitty! Cheetahs are extremely near and dear to my, and Raeph's heart, and my husband, PaulStewart, has been trying to go all-in on helping us too! There's a lot of heart in this entry and it feels very good to have it recognized! We appreciate it!
  9. Because there isn't much Miracinonyx in this Miracinonyx. Purposefully, to a degree. In discussing the Giant Cheetah with Shockal's Miracinonyx posts there was a definitive difference in our chosen styles of creature creation. Our Giant Cheetah team, especially having a Zoologist lead it, has focused very much on validity of the abilities in reference to the true, real life modern animal and its ancestor. We focused on realism for our game mechanics so that the cheetah would look and feel like a cheetah. Shockal wanted to focus on the game mechanics that they wished to see in the game and a more fantastical, "over the top" (as in making it be able to outrun the fastest flyers whereas real cheetahs--and the cougar-relative Miracinonyx--weren't capable of out-running the fastest flyers in real life, but not completely "over the top" as in out of the realm of possibility for WC to implement) feel for a speedster and applied it to the Miracinonyx name. So, if you're looking for a realistic "cheetah" then you want Raeph's Acinonyx, and if you're looking for the speedster mechanics offered here then you want Shockal's Miracinonyx, and if you want a cheetah--ANY cheetah--and don't really care then you can vote for either...or both! But you are correct in that this is a very fantasy version of the animal made to suit Shockal's needs and the Acinonyx was kept more realistic in its designs. It was how we best decided to stay separate of each other as "teams" as well. Leaning hard into what we wanted to see for the cheetah submissions. And thus it becomes a matter of preference (or lack of preference) between how much one prefers their Ark creatures to seem close to the real thing versus really enjoys the more mythical elements to the creatures in the game. And a side note, I have a feeling were this to win that WC would make it look more like the real thing (though I could totally be wrong on that, you never know, but they did "fix" the faso to look more like the real animal versus the submitted creator's design) if it's purely a looks thing turning one off too. I'd like it to look like the real animal a bit more, but my preference is the side of realism. I really love Shockal's designs as a fantasy cat species. But that is just my opinion. The Acinonyx will be back for Extinction, we have every intention. So if it is more your style, feel free to watch for it there. And if it can't get anywhere there, it might go against this cat again in Valguero. Maybe.
