nerfed pods, lowered structure limit, ... the aim for fewer players^^

not exactly aiming for fewer players although a-amount of players will quit playing for sure.
but aiming to reduce the number on official servers and driving players to private servers where they can have all the features that got removed or drastically reduced in ASA (over time since it went live).
reduced render distance, reduced tame limit, reduced structure liimit, dino spawns seem to be reduced as well in either amount or frequency - all that you can have again if you rent a server from nitrado leaving official behind.

or leave ARK behind for good. I know that's the hardest to do once you're into it. i'm struggling myself to get it accomplished. that said the above is free of sarcasm but a good portion of salt.

They intend on trying to improve this change today.

    trying ... improve ?

maybe they should try to play their own game on an Official server incognito as Average Joe and not as an almighty GM. Other than that there hardly is anything to try but to revert a setting or two. Granted that I'm not a programmer so maybe it takes more than just change a value but they SHOULD know how to revert as they're the ones who made this bogus change in the first place

my question is, why did they do this...?

because the servers suck and can't live up to the promise they imply with xx / 70.

On that matter WC caters to Nitrado and not the players. Less dinos to render as you don't see them means less load to the server.  It's easier to limit our experience than fixing the broken decay timers which, considering all the abandoned structures by people who are not as stupid like you and me and left the game, add load to the server(s) for sure.

All in all ASA is performing way worse than ASE did up to Gen2. And it's worse than Gen2 as well which was crashing with almost every server save but ran without the massive rubber-banding (to the most extent).

  5. hey you, you console people

I get it, you're mad about the delays but there's something VERY positive about it: MS and Sony seem to check on the product more thoroughly than Wildcard or Steam.
So once ARK:ASA is available for your preferred gaming gear you MIGHT NOT have to deal wih all the crap WC / Snail distributed to PCs worldwide via Steam.

    Think positive

Thank you for making ASA a story driven sci fi game and best game ever by far

thank you WC you are by far the best company ever

can’t wait for the new story maps

Are you on the correct forum ? Are you talking about ARK:ASA ?

And are you talking about WC as in Wildcard or another company that actually matches your description ?

Still no migration plan? I have "only" about 1200 hours invested on SE - but there are people with tens of thousands of hours, and a good part of them breeding!

Why not a "one way, single time" migration? Even if the bases were left behind (snap points been upgraded and all), the tames (and gear) surely could be imported. A one time, one way, format filter for tames/gear shouldn't be that hard.

Heartbeat and respiration almost drive them into overload. that mitigation thing might kill then instantaneously.

  8. the price still might be an issue to some but at least you don't pay for a pig on a poke.

    but:

Do you really think that the small improvements that might come with ASA justify to ditch up to 8 years of playing in exchange for a start from scratch and even pay for it ?

there still is quite some ppl out there who play on your mostly neglected official servers and you basically kick them in the teeth.

what really needs an overhaul isn't ARK:SE but the overall WIldcard attitude towards the player base and the support it gave you over the years despite your attitude

Jeremy also had a no-business-agreement with Tandy.

in the end it cost WC $40mill and ever since Snail Games runs the party.

would i trust that guy ? not as far as i could possibly toss him

    😍😍😍😍😍  20 - 30 days 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Decay time could be shorter, maximum 30 days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    limit pillars on the map.
auto decay abandoned structures, scattered on the map.
destruction of loose structures shorter decay time.

true.  a single pillar  (no attachments) is gone in 7 hours, an abandonned campfire or a spikewall stays forever and a day.

limiting pillars sounds good but is not feasible as some structures might eat a lot of them. so where to set the limit ?

  11. "We are currently working on some additional QOL changes, which will enable players to pull out 1,5, or 10 items at a time if an entire stack isn't needed (You can press/click these buttons multiple times to get your desired quantity). "

1, 5 or 10.  that is quite some low options ?   why not add an interface where you can choose how much of 'the item' you want to pull from the storage ?   just like for crafting where you can enter the amount to craft (give you got the resources) ?

And why can't we, the players, use the T key to pull a stack from ?  the radio button 'remove a stack' or what it's called, basically does the same.

  12. I play ARK since day one and been through quite a bit of ups and downs considering that I play on Legacy.   But this particular server is the most pathetic ... I don't know ... hardware ?

It basically requires a reporting page of its own where you report its uptimes as oppossed downtimes.

The Legacy Sister Server, 947, ain't that much better as I can't see it when waiting for a reconnect to 946.

    @StudioWildcard

I don't know what you have in mind when it comes to Legacy. Most players arranged with the fact that there is no support and that Legacy servers basically are a lawless zone where any dimwit can harrass and insult other players. Blocking mission terminals or passages that are crucial for gameplay is being tolerated also as there's no way around it. The CoC has no impact on Legacy. I admit that i know of two cases where people got globally banned but I think that only happened due to the fact that a player on the server in question had a hot wire to the Devs.

So what's the deal? Do you plan to shut Legacy down but instead of simply announcing it you keep them running until even the last player is so annoyed from the performance that he leaves ?

946 is online for 10-15 mins and then crashes staying offline for 30-45 mins if not longer. Is it the 60 cloners running in ONE base that crash the server or is it all the pillars ONE boxtribe plastered half of Eden with ?

The players on 946 Legacy just want to have fun. They're not complaining about lost items or dinos but a server that literally became unplayable due to either hardware issues or  dupers. Of course none of the players can bring a proof of either.
