I am guessing "grape" is getting filtered because the letters after the g spell "Unicorn." This sort of thing is common among poorly designed word filters.

Rexes, therizinos, or shadowanes would be the best general purpose boss fighters, each having their own merits and downsides. If you have a saddle BP of better than 80 for the rex or theri I would go with them, otherwise I would choose shadowmanes. If you had equal saddle bps between rexes and therizinos, I would choose tickle chickens if you are well set up for veggie cake production, otherwise rexes.

The server save files that will posted are simply snapshots in time from a server (and official servers autosave every 15 mins anyways); if you load them up on a private server everything will be exactly how it was when the save was taken. PC players will be able to also easily load those saves as single player games; things might be tricky for console players unless Wildcard adds some sort of load a save file function to the game. As for transfering items/tames from official to single player, well that would be nice, but not strictly needed. You can always use admin commands in single player to spawn in whatever items or tames you want.

The explanation is that there were two separate projects to save humanity after the titans showed up; the Ark project to maintain life near Earth in hopes of one day cleaning it up, and the Genesis ship project to find a new planet as a back up. There is a good chance that the new DLC map coming with ASA will cover what happens between extinction and the survivors arrival on the Genesis ship.

The existing mods are for the current version of the game, and are not going to go anywhere unless the mod creator decides to pull them from the Steam store. There is a good chance that mod creators will start to not update mods for the current version, which has the possible chance of some bug fix breaking an existing mod and it not getting fixed. Granted, ASE is probably only going to get minor bug fixes from here on out. As for mods for ASA, mod creators will have to choose if they want to port their current mods to the new game. You would have to look up any posts by mod creators to see if they plan on making an ASA version.

Sinocrops are good creatures to start breeding; the extra mobility they provide is handy for all sort of PVE & PVP uses. They are also trivial to raise (since chitin is easy to get & does not spoil) and a pain to tame, so breeding is the best way to get more. Thylas are worth looking into breeding, to aid with cave defense; their bleed is handy against soakers. Focus mainly on boosting their health. They also come in handy for certain brute hunt missions on Gen1.

As a work around, try cryopodding them up before you do any boss battles.

Same here; my friends & I got heavily invested on the official servers before we realized how much better it would have been to set up our own private cluster. So right now we are mostly in base maintenance mode (plus some boss fights with oddball tames) until the server saves are posted. Then I can set up our own private cluster with that if ASA gets delayed or turns out to suck.

I don't know about the scream thing, but have a fix for the second issue. Before you log off, you can open the admin command bar and use the command saveworld . That will force a manual save of the game. The command is also useful if you are doing map uploads / downloads in single player; if I am downloading stuff from another map I will saveworld after every few creatures or items. That is because if the game crashes inbetween you downloading stuff and a save happening, you lose all the stuff you downloaded.

Whatever you do, make sure it is powered back up before you check its inventory; there is a bug that can cause the charge times on cryos in unpowered fridges to be calculated incorrectly, resulting in dead creatures that would otherwise be fine.

Sinocrops would be a good one to consider; not useful for boss fights, but super useful for almost every other tasks on most maps. Health, stam, weight, maybe even melee would be worth mutating. Aside from their obvious flying backpack use, a swarm of them with good helmets on is surprisingly deadly.

Its not just three times, you can run that boss fight as many times as you want, you just won't get anymore level cap increases after you have done alpha once. Its pretty common on servers for more experienced players to run newer tribemates through those fights, for example. Or after you have done alpha with the standard rex/therizino army, you want to go back and try out your mutated chalicotheriums for fun, well you can.

Killing other players in PVE is possible if you drag their sleeping body into water to drown them; if you sleep in a bed they will not be able to drag you. Only tribemates can access sleeping players inventory directly on PVE.

R flavored creature came out with Gen2, and are not found on prior maps, unless you edit the spawns. And they can't breed with regular variants of a creature.

Just a couple things to mention, in case you missed them since you are new. The first is that the official beginner servers wipe every couple of months; you can transfer stuff off the server to the main PVE ones, but do note that it is a one trip. Something else to mention is that all the official servers are being closed in August; final server saves will be provided, so it will be possible to load those up as a private server or single player game.

Wyverns & Rock Drakes need wyvern milk & nameless venom respectively when they are babies, they can only eat meat after they are fully grown. Rexes and shadowmanes should be just fine if you have enough meat in the maewing; double check that nursing mode is enabled in the radial menu, just in case there is some bug where it is showing milk but no nursing mode, and that the babies are within the maewing trough line.

In single player you can transfer items between different characters on different maps just fine. Just upload, close map, open new map, download. The only difference is that you will not be able to use drops to do uploads/downloads, you will have to use Obelisks/Terminals until you get a transmitter or stryder.

Dododex is your friend; it is a website & phone app that will let you put in your settings and then see the baby raising times, among many other functions. You can also adjust imprint settings, or since you are on single player, use the admin command setimprintquality=1.0 while looking at a tame, to fix any imprint issues.

I will sometimes do turtles for early game kibble, since they are so common & trivial to tame. Tame yourself a decent horse, then just run around kicking turtles & shoving in mejos, you can have dozens taming within an hour.

So I had an amusing idea for all the official PVE player were - before the servers go down, you should set up turrets & other defenses around your base. That way people can load up the saves in PVP mode and use them as practice for raiding. I personally plan on setting up a small team of heavy combat dinos (uber gigas, boss rexes, etc) at every single teleport spot on the Fjordur map I play on, and put them on aggressive.

Just want to add that you can head to a map where megalania are trivial to find, like Ragnarok, tame some females + 1 male, and bring them back to the Island to breed. Megalania are weird in that they are the only creature were the tamed ones drop the apex tribute item.

Not right now, but it will be possible once they close the official servers in August. Wildcard has stated that they plan on posting final save files for the official servers, so you will be able to take the save file of the server your character is on, and load that save as a single player game. Then you can do single player transfers as normal.
