  1. For TLC Pass 3, some of the potential creatures that comes in mind such as : Bronto: New model is more than needed. At bare minimum, their health and weight needs to be drastically improved to be on par with other creatures that can carry more. (Basilisks, gasbags, quetzs, etc.) Adding an AOE stomping ability would be great. 10-15 secs stun + mild damage. Carno: Still a good cave dweller, but just about useless nowadays for anything else. A weaker charge ability like the rhino with a touch of bleed effect would be nasty. FFS, no rubber forearms! Megalodon: Looks like a shark but the real thing was easily twice the size of what we got in game. Megalodons were the apex predators of the ocean during their era, period. That being said, I'd love to see a bitting ability like the megalosaurus where you can hold on to something and shake its head until limbs of the victim detach. Alternatively, a way to jump out of the water from below like actual great whites would be insane. Pulmonoscorpius: Model still looks great but the hitbox NEEDS to be fixed. Getting stuck in scorps has been a thing since day 1 of EA and it's never been adressed. Their stinger attack should be as potent as basilisk bite. If they grow in size, their pincers could use the same grabing logic as the ptera for small creatures. Araneo: The model never looked good in my opinion. It needs to look like an actual spider and be able to climb walls + ceillings at bare minimum. Its webbing ability could be changed into an alternative version of Y-Plant traps. Mammoth: Also a creature in dire need of a remodel. I'm ok with their current stats as they are as well as their utility for wood/berries. I would however add an insulation value while being ridden, like the basilo, considering the amount of fur on these things. Please, no more yellow spot in the b-hole location... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Crystal Isles: Hosted the map on one of my server for a while and played it. 3-4 months ago, I'd say the map was about 50-60% completed back then. A LOT of overspawning issues with some of the creatures needs fixing. Some areas also needs attention such as the volcano where you can casually walk around and instantly die to lava damage because the zone volume is not optimized. Others will simply crash your game because they are overfilled with static meshes. Crystal wyverns can't be implemented unless seriously reworked. WAY too fast for any PvP related activities and very very easy to tame.
  2. You can craft them in a replicator.
  3. As for the invaders, check out this line of the season pass description : [ everything from gunning down waves of enemies with the aid of power-ups ] That would be your horde-mode.
  4. If you really expected Genesis to be released on time, you either wear pink glasses or are unaware of WC's terrible lack of commitement to meet any sort of schedule/deadline.... enough said.
  5. Aberration solo series : - Defeated Gamma Rockwell under 12 minutes as a warm up for the alpha. - First batch of reaper clones is coming along very well, yet very costly in terms of shards. - Started to bred spino which are far cheaper. Current line is around 5.6k hp / 380% dmg (pre-imprint). Recorded a few more solo bosses fights: - Beta Megapithecus. - Alpha Megapithecus (not published yet). - Beta Dragon. Here are some of them : Gamma Overseer Beta Megapithecus Beta Dragon I'll try to upload the gamme tek cave this week (already recorded 108 GB file...) Cheers!
  6. Worked a bit on my solo ascension series on Aberration. Tamed one of my best anky since I started the game in EA. A 135 female which came out at 370% dmg post-tame. To make matters ever better, her very first baby hatched with a dmg mutation (380%). Also tamed a 145 crab. Reaper cloning is coming along very well. In terms of video recording, I did : Full gamma tek cave run (±35 mins) legit, solo. Gamma Overseer (±10 mins), solo. Both are yet to be published as the tek cave alone takes a whopping 13 GB. Cheers!
  7. Biggest challenge of doing the vanilla Ascension solo is to beat the dragon. The gamma one can be done easily without mutated creatures as you can see in my vid (posted a few days ago in this thread). For the beta/alpha, that's another ball game entirely.... The tek cave in itself is very easy and so is the overseer once familliar with it. That being said, I'd suggest doing a few dry runs in SP to be familliar with the whole thing. As for the Snow Cave, I wouldn't bother with allos as you can fit a rex inside with a cryopod. There are a 1-2 spots where you'll need to recryo/unpod but accessibility is alright. Only the artifact room can't be entered by a rex, but that's manageable. On the plus side, bringing rexes in here will help you level them up for upcoming bosses as a full clear usually nets me around 25-30k xp.
  8. Well done, keep up the good work!
  9. Beautiful colors on that tape, well done! As for the swamp cave, may I suggest trying it with a megatherium. Arthros can't reach you directly with their spit and you can navigate the whole cave from it whitout having to cryo it (besides the entrance). 2 spots specifically will require some elbow grease to fit the damn thing but it's so easy to handle the rest of the cave.
  10. Been a few weeks since I posted here but I made plenty of progress. As for my solo series, I am coming along very well on Aberration and I'm almost ready to take on Rockwell (gamma). - Built a tek replicator along with a proper base. - Bred some megalosaurus for a trip down in the red (drake eggs) - Hatched and raised a dozen 180+ rock drakes. (A 185 hatched at 380% melee!) - Got my hands on a first trash reaper, from a 85 queen. - Also gave birth later on this week to a 220 reaper (from a 145 queen). - Crafted a cloning chamber, for the upcoming reaper army. Just need to place the damn thing properly.... Regarding the solo video recordings, I did a few more, yet to be published : - Beta Broodmother. - Beta Megapithecus. - Gamma dragon. As for the ice themed map, I'll pause the work on it for now due to IRL constraints. In fact, I'm looking to change jobs and will undertake classes in cyberscurity at the university this winter. Cheers!
  11. From 4 years of playing this game and even if others consider this a myth, I'm 100% convinced there is a subroutine function in the game that make crap spawn near/on top of an ongoing tame. Every single time I did a tame in this game standing near with the creature unprotected, something predatory spawned near by. Containement structures don't always save your creatures from being attacked as I often saw raptors/t-birds/compies spawn inside the cage with your creatures... If you start a tame here are a few tips that will save you from frustrations : - Build a pen around it, ALWAYS. - If possible, build a second layer. - If you want to stay near by/or need to, keep your eyes open. Don't go watch a video while waiting, you are bound for disaster. - Starve tame. Put 1-2 food at the end of the expected tame time and if you see the effectiveness is not what you expected, don't waste ressources. - Use stasis to your advantage. Dinos will keep on spawning when out of render range, but they remain static until rendered by a player. To sum it up : 1- Build a pen. 2- Starve tame. 3- Get away until it's time to feed it.
  12. Productive week for me on my SE solo series : - Finally got my hands on a pair of yutys (male 145 and female 120) and leveled up the first baby (currently sits at 273). - Also finished leveling the rexes for the manticore and crafted the last remaining saddles. - Cleared all 3 caves for artifacts. - Went straight for the alpha manticore with the crew and nailed it. Started today on Aberration : - Tamed a pair of ravager males (150 & 130). - Built a small base in the blue zone (10 x 6 metal structure with basics stuff) - Got VERY lucky and came accross a female mega (140) and a male mega (145) - Made a few hazmats for red-zone fun during the weekend. Oh and here's the gamma monkey video :
  13. Worked on SE, bred some more rexes and still looking for a decent yuti. As promised, I created a fresh character and started to record videos for each and every boss of all difficulties, done solo. I'll upload the gamma monkey tomorrow. In the meantime, here is the gamma brood :
  14. Small hiatus from posting here. Solo series is working well as I am almost ready to tackle the manticore on all difficulties. Still need to get my hands on a proper yuty.... As for the ice map, I started to test out with an independant mod to apply my custom weather/engrams and it seems to be working so far. A few things needs to be fixed such as the player UI disapearing, among other things.... In the meantime, I also finalized my concept for snow structures : - Essentially, you'll need to harvest Ice Chunks and crush them down into Flake Ice. - Once that is done, you'll need one of the 2 new crafting station, either the primitive or modern press, in order to process a specific amount of Flake Ice into Snow Blocks. - Snow structures will cost the same resources as stone, but the stone component will be replaced with aformentioned blocks. - Structures will share the same damage table as wood for balance purposes, but also yield the best insulation values against the cold.
  15. I played there for a few months for the actual challenge of being limited to level 44, wild dinos at level 30 and tribe limited to 5 players. Lots of PvP opportunities there as there are no broken OP dinos and raids are limited to grenades mostly. Sad that these servers are prolly the only officials worth playing nowadays considering all the cancer going on on regular/small tribes/arkpocalypse. Maybe you should try for yourself to get established. Getting saddles for anything such as carnos, argentavis, rexes or gigas is an actual challenge.
  16. Almost done with Scorched Earth (2 weeks into it => official ratings, except for breeding). - Got half a dozen 175+ wyverns. - Bred 10 boss rexes. - Got all artifacts. - Looted a 60 armor rex saddle BP, which is more than enough for the alpha manticore. - Tamed 2 Phoenix for fun. (120 & 135) - Tamed a 130 rock golem for the sake of it... I decided to challenge myself more for Aberration & Extinction. Will start at level 1 and enjoy the early game survival. I'll only transfer my "ascended" character once ready for the map boss. ----------------------------------------- I'll resume work on the test map during this weekend. Might record videos of all boss fights including the tek cave/overseer, done solo legit for those interested into it.
  17. FYI, you have unlimited time once in the overseer section. 19 rexes 20k hp 500% dmg equipped with 80 armor saddle + 1 yuti will let you solo the gamma one, but expect losses in the dragon phase (lost 14 rexes in my very first run). 18 theriz (20k hp, 700% dmg, 120 armor saddles, 15 cakes each) + 1 yuti and I have yet to lose a single one to the gamma overseer after 3 runs through the cave. Why 18 theriz? Because I ride a sacrificial rex to clear the cave while the crew is following. 3/4 of the opponents can be sniped and baited into lava. For higher difficulties, mutated creatures and 100+ saddles are mandatory. ~1400-1500% dmg theriz were needed for the alpha seer. And for the record, I do it on my unofficial server with "official settings", so it's perfectly achievable solo granting time investment. Cheers!
  18. Took the week off from the dev kit, while trying to get anwsers to the issues I faced with my concept. Did some major progress in my solo series as I finally defeated the alpha dragon & alpha overseer. Started on SE, which I haven't played in 3 years... jeez the memories. First 3-4 hours : - Tamed a 125 argentavis. - Tamed a pathetic lvl 5 rex as a "meat farmer". - Tamed a 120 anky + 20 doed. Over the week : - Found a decent plateau high up the mountains left of blue ob. - Built a miserable 4x3 adobe base as well as a dino gate wall to prevent further carno infestation. - Got a cryofridge yesterday! - Kibble tamed a 150 wolf (340 dmg) and a 145 female rex, which ended with 9.5k hp. I'll most likely tame the first male rex I see and start breeding them while also looking for a decent saddle BP. Might as well skip wyverns entirely on this map as they are not required to defeat the alpha manticore...
  19. I might as well start a proper "classic PvP" cluster at that point... I'd do the following : - 1x rates as back in 2015. - No kibble. - Remove all industrial grade engrams. - No scuba gear. - No Tek. - Only dinos prior to EA patch 173.0 - Disable breeding. - Most likely lower dino levels. - With some work in the dev kit, I believe I could prolly do the Island pre-biome.
  20. Finally managed to release the test map on a server and currently doing a dry run of the damn thing. Feel free to come face the elements with us! https://www.battlemetrics.com/servers/ark/4245377 Closed it until the next batch of fixes is in. Server is in PvP hardcore-mode, just to up the stakes a bit. Here is a quick list of known issues : - Ice related engrams don't show up, but the resources are available. - Frostbite icon (not the final icons btw) does shows up as planned but the mechanics didn't followed... - Overspawn of sky drops. - Icebergs mesh is whacky.... - Combat musics / amb sounds didn't followed.... Most issues are related to the PrimalGameData_BP that for some reason didn't followed the map when I cooked it.
  21. Made quite a lot of progress in the dev kit, regarding the ice-themed test map. All creature spawns for the main land as well as icebergs are 100% complete. Tonight, I also finished all my custom loot tables for the supply crates. However, drops placement needs to be completed. I'll finish them up and place player spawns in a day or two. Map should be out for testing by friends/familly in a few days. My TODO list before public test release : - Add SFX. - Fully create/implement my snow structures tier (Resources already in the map). - Lower ocean floor in order to spawn dunkleosteus, plesios, etc. - Add ocean floor meshes. (I already have a trench concept for resources). - Get started on the inland caves network. (Which also acts as the entrance/proving grounds towards the mini-Ab zone.) - Get started on said mini-Ab zone. Still debating if I'll go heavy swamp or ice cave themed on that one... Let's go nuts and make it a frozen Aberration according to my map theme!
  22. Couldn't help myself and spent some time again in the dev kit on the test map... Here is the current progress : Next step, custom dino spawns & drops! Land creatures of the starter region will include (Creatures not seen here will be part of the harder regions of the main map) : + jerboas
  23. Took some time away from the dev kit to work on my solo series (on a server, not in SP). Saturday, I leveled and tested out the gamma overseer crew on the beta/alpha megapithecus and succeeded. So I decided to prep up for the actual tek cave + overseer fight on sunday. Sunday, moved the crew at the entrance of said cave. Went in with 16 rexes (20k hp/550% dmg, 80 saddles), 3 theriz (same stats as the rexes) and 1 yuti. Took me about 45 mins to clear it (3/4 of the stuff can be sniped and dragged into the lava). Lost a single rex to the lava... stupid pathing IA. The actual fight was surprisingly easier than expected (despite losing 14 dinos). Here is what you should know if you ever want to do it solo as I did : - Ignore the defense units, unless your dinos are stuck in them. - Ignore the drones, they hardly do any damage at all. - Level your dinos into damage more than hp. The dragon phase will still take its toll no matter the hp of your creatures. Beta overseer is next!
