  1. Pathfinding is horribly bad. Tamed dinos can't walk in a straight line, but you steal a dino egg and every wild one can make a bee line straight to you.
  2. Hours of preparation go into taming a dino. From growing vegetables to crafting kibble. Crafting narcotics and darts. And finally spending hours upon hours searching the island over.. and over.. and over until you spot the one you're looking for. You quickly find a location void of foundation spam and build your trap. You trap it, knock it out, and guard it. Finally. the hours and hours of work and devotion pay off. You get your dino home and park him in your safe base so nothing can happen to him. Taming this dino was like winning the lottery for me. In the safety of my fully enclosed base. He dies. Some how he just falls through the floor. https://imgur.com/Z95QV0P Then a few days later my 219 Ichthy falls through the ground while hes floating in water. https://imgur.com/U0o2LFU Why is this still a thing? ARK is literally the only game I've played where stuff just falls through the ground randomly and dies and erases hours and hours and hours of work. Its beyond frustrating. ASE had this same exact bug and now I'm seeing it in ASA.
  3. 120 hours. Still unable to log in and my character is stuck on 963. I can't refresh bases or feed any dinos. Though are are all dead by now. Put in a ticket and was that customer service can not assist with this issue.
  4. What do you mean by switch session? I use the Epic client by the way. Also. 96 hours later. Still unable to log in and my character is still stuck on 963. I'm 100% sure my dinos are dead now and bases are in decay. The bases on the other maps were on day 7, my refresh day when this mess started.
  5. 84 hours later.... Still can't log on. Bases in decay and dinos are long dead. And customer service says sorry we can't do anything. My character is stuck on 963. I am unable to log on to switch servers to refresh bases or feed dinos.
  6. 60 hours later. Still unable to log in. By now the dinos are dead and the base decay on multiple servers is in effect. I am stuck on 963 and unable to log in and switch servers.
  7. 36 hours later and still unable to log onto 963. Because of this, my bases on multiple servers will start decaying with the electricals and plumbing. My dinos that are out, are dead from starvation because I 'm stuck on 963 and can't transfer because of the server full bug. About 6 months work of work will be erased and honestly I will probably just quit. I don't plan to spend another 6 months breeding and building back all of those bases. I had looked forward to Ark 2, but seriously, if you can't even get your first game right, why would I buy the second one.
  8. I just realized that I can't even refresh the bases on 7 other servers either that I refresh every Saturday, which was yesterday. So the electrical and plumbing will be decaying.
  9. Same issue again today. Still can't log on. My character is stuck on 963 and I can't feed dinos on other servers that if they aren't dead yet, will be dead soon.
  10. Haha you got my hopes up for a second there. Epic client did an Ark update.. but same issue. Server full. 14 hours later.
  11. 12 hours later and still unable to log in. At this point, my dinos are going to be dead. I'm really tired of stupid "bugs" or "issues" beyond my control erase my hard work.
  12. Been trying to log in since 9 am central. 2:27 pm now.
  13. Two days ago I logged onto 963 to check out Gen 2. logged out on 963. Today, for the entire day, I've been unable to log back on because the server is full. This wouldn't be an issue because I can just wait, except, I have dinos out on other servers that I need to feed and because I can't log on, I also can't transfer to another server. They will start dying if they aren't feed soon.
  14. On Ext 457. Giga were scheduled to hatch soon. Then work called.... and I was on the phone for quite some time. Came back to pc and they were all dead.
  15. Our tribe migrated partially to Extinction 457. Easier to get element there. A few banded together and made me a skiff. It was great. I took all of my giga , loaded up my best tek armor and took to the skies on the skiff. I was going to take on the world. Then I lagged. and then the skiff flew past some red glowing things. Then every thing evaporated. The skiff, all of my personally 100% imprinted gigas, my tek suit.. everything. Just went poof with no way to recover anything. My tribemate built me another skiff and some tek armor, but I'm really going to miss those gigas. You just don't wake up one day and decide to 100% imprint multiple gigas. Its a huge time commitment. My tribe mate also gave me a few giga eggs so they are hatching now, but I do miss those gigas.
  16. It has been awhile since I've been here. Still on CI 836. I went to 317 and got help killing Rockwell. Got some really awesome masks. When I transferred back to 836 the server crashed and I lost everything. My Reaper I had been leveling for weeks, my mastercraft shotgun, mulitple stacks of ammo. Mastercraft flak set. Everything lost. Sigh. A friend of mine gave me an owl egg of the most amazing color. It's yellow/red. Similar to my sun conure irl. I hatched the egg and started raising it. Such a pretty bird. I was raising it with 2 argies and 3 tek rex's. I filled up the trough 1 last time as it was 10 minutes from 100%. I was ecstatic. I went out side to fill another trough and my tribe mate asked me what happened to the owl. I said what do you mean, I literally just fed it and walked outside. Then I look in the log, it had died. I was literally so infuriated I cryoed the remaining dinos and logged off for the night. I still don't know why it died. It was in a locked metal building with a tek feeder stocked full of meat. It was 10 minutes from 100%. 10.. minutes. This game sometimes. You get something amazing, then something beyond your control happens and you just lose it. For absolutely no reason. The frustration is real.
  17. I have come to the conclusion that the island 892 server is just complete garbage. Crashes, rollbacks, rubberbanding, losing dinos from lag is just too much. I locate a Crystal Isles official server map with a friend and schedule moving day. Moving day came and I started the back and forth trips. On one of the trips my mastercraft riot gear just went poof. I had it equipped the entire time and on one of the return trips I appeared naked. Went back but it was long time if it had dropped in a bag. That really sucked because that armor costed me soooo much. So I get set up, a simple base built and decide I will catch my first dinosaur on Crystal Isle. I'm by a lake so a Hesperonis seems easy enough, right? Well to catch it you have to kill a fish and drag the body to the bird and click E. Easy peasy? Um no. Becasue when you are carrying the fish you can only target the fish. No matter how I twisted the camera I could not target the bird. Every once in a while, I will see in yellow letters Press E to feed and I would try to press it, but the fish would just fall.. or did it fall? What is this sorcery? The fish floated right up like a helium balloon. It stayed in the air and I was unable to give it to the bird. I head out to kill another fish. I find a 150 sabertooth. The bird should love this. I hurry back and sure enough I can't target the bird again while carrying the fish. I try spamming E, it drops the fish, picks up the fish, drops the fish, picks up the fish, but none of the E's are catching this bird that is walking around. Why is this so hard. There is NOTHING passive about a passive tame. Why do they call it a passive tame. Just let me knock it out. That is more passive. After several more attempts I finally get the E on the bird and he eats the fish. Thank you. 15 minutes later. 15 minutes to feed him 1 fish. I literally thought it was going to decompose. I go to get more fish. I was getting luckier on the next fish and got it to 67 percent. Then as I was dragging the next fish, a barry decided I was taking his food and promptly ate me. I run back and the barry has scuttled off down the river. I collect another fish, drag it over, hit E and it floats up in the air like the first one. Seriously, I thought. By now the taming meter was down to 47% and dropping fast. I run to grab another fish. I drag it over and I'm back to fighing with the E button again. One of the drops, the bird attacks the dead fish and it disappears without getting any taming credit. I sigh, and head out to catch another fish while the taming meter continues to tick down. I manage to get him a few more fish and the meter is back to 77%. And the lake is out of fish. I look around to another lake. It has fish. I dive in and immediately see 2 leeches incoming. I swing my sword and kill both of them. I kill a fish and bring it back to the bird. I tried the E spam again, and again the bird attacks the corpse and it poofs without taming credit. Why can I not target the bird while holding a fish. This is just silly. Two times the bird even stopped, turned around and walked right up to me. And yet. No. I can't target something standing right in front of me because I'm holding a fish. The meter is dropping down again. I run over to get another fish and this time get a leech. My campfire is missing. I'm not sure what happened to it , but it was literally just there. I cooked meat on it. I had to run around and collect items to craft another campfire. I craft it, jump in and the leech was gone. I head back to the lake to notice that the tame timer is now gone and I lost the tame. So much for taming my first crystal isle dino. I swear, there is nothing passive about passive tames. You do way more work.
  18. Starting off today, my other neighbor gave me another magmasaur egg. I put it in the hatchery with a giga egg my new tribemate gave me. I'm still rotating timers to get 100% imprint on every egg I hatch. My Argy became an adult today with 100% imprint. I have 4 wyverns with 1 more imprint each and they will be done. A deinonychus that needs 2 more imprints to reach 100%. The server is lagging a lot today. Those world save lags are compounded by other lags very similar in nature. I'm rubberbanding all over the place. My neighbor lent me his adult magmasaur. I took it out for a test drive collecting metal. landed on the mountain and 2 saber cats jumped me. No, I was not happy to see them. That was a rex cryo in my pocket. I toss out that 450 rex and he chomps those 2 cats easily. I uncryo the Magmasaur and get to work. Wow, is it amazing. I loaded up my argie with about 8.5k weight in metal and headed back to my base to smelt it. It is near time for my eggs to hatch. They are both about 3 minutes apart. First the magmasaur hatches. It's so cute. I cryo it and wait for the giga egg. 3 minutes later on schedule, it hatches and out pops 3 gigas. THREE. I just hit the giga lottery. WOWOWOW. I quickly cryo all 3. I've been looking for primal crystals now for a few weeks and a guy just offered to give me some that he had. I cryo my 4 growing wyverns and jump on my adult wyvern and start heading to his base. ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' Then the server crashes and does a rollback. GG Wildcard.
  19. I woke up this morning and realized I had left my Magmasaur egg in the hatchery. I was ecstatic to receive it as a gift yesterday. It must of hatched and died overnight. I swear, like I said before. In ARK, you either wake up to a disaster you go to sleep to one. There are no good days. Going back to work this week, so I'll have less time to be disappointed in ARK.
  20. Today was a busy day. I worked hard rotating various timers for imprinting on 7 dinos. I hit every imprint on the timer exactly. My rex hit 100% today so I was feeling good. My giga was only at 14 or 17%. Something like that, but he was coming along. I really like this Giga. He is like a lime green and he is supposed to be over 1k melee after imprinting is complete. I'm working really hard not to miss any imprints. It will be worth all the work in the end. My 377 boss deino egg hatches on time, so I start feeding the baby. I'll be ready to join a group for the dragon boss soon. The day is looking up. Nothing has died. I'm really feeling positive. My neighbor stops by. He just got back from Aberration I think he said. He didn't catch anything except a few skins. Then the 892 server crashes. It's offline for a bit, but I am spamming refresh and as soon as it is listed again I log back in. All of my babies and dinos are still there. I quickly run around check their food supplies. I then update the times on all of my imprint timers. Phew, I thought to myself. It could have been worse. Then my neighbor logs in, but his tribe name is missing. And he is on a fresh character. The crash occurred before the world save and his character isn't there. This day is going south fast all of a sudden. After several attempts and transfers between worlds he finally appears back on 892 but he is missing all of his stuff and his wyvern that he had brought back to 892. He still retained ownership of everything he had on 892 prior to jumping to the new map so not all is lost. A little bit later he spots a Tek Quetzal. It was a beautiful bird and he needed my help taming it. His plan was to have me join his tribe temporarily so I can pick him up on an Argie and he can shoot his rifle at the Quetzal. Seems simple enough. I said sure. I joined his tribe, I pick him up with the Argie and off we go after the Quetzal. After about 50 ish darts, it goes down. It lands by a river with Allosaurus near by. We secure the immediate area and go back to our base for reinforcements. I grabbed my snow owl and cryo my new 100% imprint level 450 rex (61k hp 1.9k melee) and another 450 rex (33k hp, 1.2k melee). We get back to the Quetzal and I set up both Rex's on aggressive and not to attack unconscious dinos. I use the owl to scan for dinos in the area and we quickly clear out a large radius. All goes according to plan and the Quetzal is tamed. Wow, this day wasn't too bad afterall. We head back to base. He beats me back to base. He said thanks and said he was going to boot me from his tribe now. No problem. Glad I could help. I am instantly ejected from my owl very, very far up above the swamp. I come crashing down and die instantly. O.M.G. What just happened? Apparently when I got booted from his tribe, I lost ownership of my own owl. I tell him in Global what happened and he quickly comes to invite me back. No longer with a base of my own, I had respawned at the beach with the rest of the beach bobs. My neighbor gets to me and invites me back into his tribe. We are really far from his base so I swim out into the ocean and drown myself so I can respawn at his base. I run over to my base and grab my argy. I fly out to where I died and get my loot (which included my 2 rex's that were cryo'd) and I fly up to whistle my snow owl to follow me home. During this my neighbor somehow crashed his Tropeognathus and died himself. As soon as I get back to my base, I jump on the owl, switch on the vision to look for his bird. He had actually spawned close enough to his body that he was able to retrieve his items and his bird pretty quick. We then both head back to base. At base we try to figure out how I lost ownership of everything. I lost my storage building with 30+ large storage boxes plum full of loot. I lost my fully equipped nursery that was as tall as a behemoth door to accommodate any dino, this also included my workshop with all of the industrial equipment and 4 fridges for kibble and dino food. I lost my huge green house with 24 plots. I lost my dino pen. And I lost my hatchery that was built with 30 ac, and also contained a cryo fridge, 2 generators, and 3 more refrigerators. As long as I am in his tribe, I can access my own stuff but if I leave, I lose everything. And to top it off, in the excitement... my beloved giga starved to death. Just the biggest let down of the night. This game just really plays on your emotions to the point of exhaustion. The most positive part of this is the players on 892. They are the greatest group of people I've gamed with in a long time. We struggle together. We lose stuff every time the server randomly crashes. We've all hit E at our destination just to rubberband back 100 feet and fall from midair to our deaths. The continuous rollbacks are just crazy. It just boggles my mind how a server runs like this. We are in 2021. I played World of Warcraft for 14 years and it was never this crazy. Server technology and technology in general has progressed far but Ark seem stuck in time 7 years ago. Anyway to end my story for the day, I now belong to a tribe of 2. I fully trust my new tribe mate. I know he feels bad about the whole situation. I would too in his shoes. It is not the end of the world. It could always be worse. So when life gives you lemons, squeeze it into lemonade and drink it.
  21. Today was a quiet day and I've given up all hopes on making it back to the island with a Ferox. My friend really wanted to try again. Capture it and resell it he said. We'll make lots of money he said. What could possibly go wrong? Really, do I even have to ask that? Whatever I guess, sure beats standing around for the next 6 hours waiting on my giga egg to hatch. We head over to Genesis and spend a couple hour collecting points and buy about 54 element. Then off to the cave. Clear out the bears .. and there are no Ferox's. Someone had recently cleared the cave. No problem, We'll hang out a bit nearby until they respawn. I'm semi-afk on a work call when I hear the sound of my character dying. I ask my friend what happened and he said we both froze to death. I was outside the cave afk, but he was inside the nice warm cave and froze to death. We shrug it off and head back to the cave. The Ferox have started to respawn and we quickly tame one. I'm really short on time today and need to get back to the island because of imprint timers so we head over to a transmitter. We use the rex and giga to clear all the dinos around the transmitters. Then put them in cryo. We realize the Giga still has 40 element in his inventory so I told my friend to take him back to camp and put the element in storage. He ends up storing the dino next to someone's base.. I really hope they don't mind. We'll be back soon to get him. The lake is cleared, we walk up to the transmitter and there is a timer. Sheesh, always a timer. My friend decides to take the Ferox out of cryo to my dismay. He askes if we should feed it elementium. I told him we need to save it. So when I see the Ferox suddenly go all hulk I already knew. He jumped on it and started riding it in circles. I sighed. Then... the respawns. 2 direbears respawned on the lake and they made a quick meal of the 22 ferox. I let out an even longer sigh. I am really starting to expect this now and I'm not even let down anymore. I know it is inevitable.
  22. New day, new adventure. Yesterday ended in a disaster so today I really was looking forward to something positive happening. A friend and I jumped over to Genesis to tame a Ferox. We gather up all of our supplies. My friend wanted to test some taming method using a Equus. He never rode an Equus so he wanted to ride it to the cave. About 1/2 to the cave he realized how fragile the Equus was on this harsh map and swapped mounts with me. So I rode the Equus from the halfway point. At some point in the journey a raptor knocked me off the equus and I was quickly devoured by 3 direwolfs or was it bears? Either way, I was dead. My precious Equus was quickly devoured next. My friend was on the giga moving so fast that he got ahead of me and was unable to find my body. Which of course held all of our food, water, grapples, etc.. So I ressurect back at the base and grab a rex and head back to the cave. My friend found out that by standing on the giga he was out of range of the Ferox and didn't need any grapples. We get the first Ferox to 75% and then it just turns around, swims to the bottom of a lake and drowns. For absolutely no reason at all. We are dumbfounded. What just happened. So.. round 2. A 145 Ferox approaches, and it is successfully tamed. What a magnificent day! Then.. BAM!!! A direwolf walks through the cave wall into the cave and eats the Ferox. Then kills my friend. I quickly dispatch the wolf and shake my head. This is just crazy. We have just enough elementium for 1 more attempt. Another 145 appears. This must be our lucky day! It is quickly tamed and we exit the cave before some random bad luck happens. We get to the transmitter to go back to the Island. We successfully make it back to the island. I can't believe it. A good day, finally! Then................ as my friend mounted on the Ferox, it fell through the map and died. I think it's time to take a nap before I throw my monitor across the room.
  23. A lot of stuff has happened. After about a week of asking, I found someone to sell me a weight argy. This should make gathering so much easier. After adding stats it has 10k weight. I am so happy. Finally I can get ahead. I splurged and installed an industrial cooker because I wanted to start making kibble. Apparently I've been doing it wrong with raw meat and berries. I don't live close to water so I installed 4 water reservoirs on my roof and ran pipe down to the cooker. I accidently broke a portion of my wall while setting down pipe and when I put the last flex piece in, it did a little bend and actually went through the gap. This prevented me from putting the wall piece back in. So I had to remove it. You know, removing pipe is a pain in the rear because you just can't click it. I kept targeting the wall behind it. Now, this is in the nursery room with a behemoth door so the room is rather tall. I used an argy to fly up to the top to set up the pipe. But removing it while on an argy is a completely different story. Since argy's bounce up and down, whenever I hit E on the pipe, I would leap off the argy and go crashing to the ground every time. The fall didn't kill me, but it did do about 100 points of damage each fall. The whole argy thing wasn't working out, so I had to bring out the big guns. The giga. I walked him into the room. Dismounted and walked to the tip of his head.. finally! I can reach. I'm aiming for the pipe.. and .. aaaaaaaaaah I'm falling! The giga decided it was time to eat and bent down which sent me crashing to the ground. After about 4 crashes, I was able to time his eating to remove most of the bad pipe. I did have to destroy some of the wall though because I kept targeting the wall each time in stead of the pipe. The whole process of installing the reservoirs, pipes, and cooker probably took me about 2 hours including watching a short youtube video on the process. Finally, something good is happening. I look up kibble, and make 50 batches. So now to test it out. I grab the 50 kibble and 3 stacks of narc and my trusty Thylo and I'm off to the swamp. I see a rex, great! Grab out my mastercraft rifle and just bought and start firing. After about 30 ish shots, the rex literally runs off full speed and I lose it. I have no clue where the monstrosity went. It just disappeared. So there is a Therizinosaur just standing there looking at me.. You know. I am not going home empty handed so I raise my rifle and fire. He chases me back to the trap and falld in. YES! I make sure to change the thylos settings to only attack conscious dinos. Theri's use alot of narc so I toss in 2 stacks and the kibble. I am in a swamp so there are gators, kapros, frogs, etc. near by. I jump on the Thylo and eliminate them all. That's all I need is something to hit this and ruin my tame. It is a 115 with +57 on 100%. It takes a while and I keep feeding it narcs. I ride the thylo in the vicinity looking for anything that could potentially be aggressive and pre-emptively kill it. So far, so good. This day may actually be the day that starts off good and ends good. Oh don't worry though. This is ARK, and we don't have happy endings here. At about 80%, I see the message. 435 argy killed by 90 raptor. I suddently go all irate. What in the world! My argy was locked in my house, safe. I just bought it for a lot of ingots. A LOT. I finish taming the theri and head back home. The tame was successful at 99.99% and the resulting level was 178. I get back to my house to inspect. A raptor had gotten inside through a small opening during the remodel. He killed my prized argy. The baby rexes and velonasaur in the nursery were safe. It appears my other raptors killed it while it was in my house. It did destroy a storage box, but the box had just been emptied before my trip. I let out a sigh. To behonest, I would rather it had killed every other dino in my house, but it killed the one I really, really, really needed. Back to hoofing it for ingots I guess. Such a major setback.
  24. I thought I should try Genesis. I spent about a week farming up stuff to buy some decent gear. Fur set, ghilli set, and my mastercraft flak stuff. Spawned into Genesis and on my first jump, i'm stuck floating in the air. I will die and lose everything, again. This game is something else.
  25. Got up this morning and the giga juvenile starved to death. I had filled his inventory and the trough. The other 3 babies still had stacks and stacks of meat and the food in the trough was spoiled. I was only away from the game for about 8 real hours. I kid you not, any other day since I've played the trough has not had much spoiled food, but today, there were multiple, multiple stacks of spoiled food. Like 6-8 stacks. So the giga died and all the food spoiled. I would really like 1 good day that doesn't start or end with a disaster.
