  1. I raid people for fun all the time its called PVP. As you play on a PVP server you should expect PVP. Since our own server is deliberately kept dead we normally raid other servers to relieve the boredom. We go to our transmitter sort by most players and hit join. There is a surprisingly great amount of fun you can have just killing randoms and blowing up their bases. It's even better when they cry in global chat for help and then you wipe out their would be rescuers when they show up. At the end of the day when you have vaults full of every type of ascendant BP and a nice collection of the purest bred dinos what else are you meant to do to have fun? The point of this game is PVP so why not make use of it.
  2. Tek Helm

If they make it work like the gas mask then what is the point in having the gas mask. The gas mask is already under utilized by players.
  3. Island vs. Rag vs. Center vs. Scorched?

The Island is the best map with the most thought and effort put into its construction. Its smaller then the other two maps but its much more refined. A work of art. It has thick jungle in which you can somewhat hide and nice swamps and locations that make logical sense. Following the release of the island they made a map some random made called The Center as an Official map. If you compare the two its like day and night. The Center is big but ugly. It's terrain lacks any kind of significant vegetation oweing to map and memory limits due to the map size. The result is you have this large map that is very plain with resources located in a few selected areas that force you do to use aerial dinos to access them. A change a year ago made it look even more crap by adding some giant ugly cliff thing down the south and plonked a red forest in there too for good measure. In short terrible map and even the bosses aren't good for farming element. Ragnorak is basically similar to the Center. Another random made it with the same concept that the best map is some giant map with little on it. It's half finished and just woeful. Terrible map.
  4. Server Wipe

With the huge amount of duping that is going on atm I don't see how the Devs really have any other choice. There are hundreds on youtube and forums all showing how to dupe and pretty much all of the big tribes are involved in it and even now smaller tribes getting in on the act given how easy it is to do. For instance I won't name any names but you go to the home server of certain tribe and just sit on there server and sure enough it will constantly have certain 'issues' at various times of the day. Now this server is pretty dead with a max of 10 players on it at peak hours. There will be 3 people on and suddenly the servers having issues. I know for a fact from a recent ex member of theirs that they are definitely not super farmers by any means but you wouldn't know it by the amount of TEK structures and resources they have. The devs wiped servers nearly 2 years ago for something far smaller then this so it makes perfect sense especially given the game is soon to be released that they wipe the servers on release. It will happen. It has to happen. There is no other option, the devs might be playing for time but at the end of the day they know what they need to do. The majority clearly are in favor of a wipe and I sure like always there will be some PVE players that spent years building some giant lag inducing monument to their vanity who will absolutely hate it but I guess that just bad luck. If they are truly concerned about PVE players being upset they could always just wipe Official PVP servers that would quieten them down.
  5. how many miss day 1 of ark?

I can recall when the strongest beast you could tame was a level 30 Rex. I remember when wood bases were a common thing and metal was exceedingly rare. Good raids with pikes, hatchets and picks, bows and arrows. Definitely was a lot of fun. There was big tribes back then too but they weren't nearly as invincible as today because a wood base is only a wood base. The whole air supremacy crap hadn't been added yet either so things still happened mostly on the ground.
  6. Nerfs To Slingshot?

I have noticed in the last 2 patches the humble slingshot has been hit quite hard with the nerf stick for reasons no one quite knows. I can count on one hand the amount of times someone has attacked me with a slingshot in ARK. I can also count how many time I've ever used one to tame anything: Twice. I've played this game for over 4000 hours now and its extremely rare to see anyone even carrying a slingshot on them let alone actually using one for anything. So I have to wonder what the logic is behind these nerfs given that it is extremely rare to see anyone even using the thing so in terms of being OP I very much doubt it. Secondly there are definitely far more unbalanced weapons that are in everyday use in the game that have not even been looked at in terms of balance. The club and other KO weapons are still too good and sniper rifles are pretty much the only ranged weapons apart from the RPG that have been used in PVP for the last 2 years.
  7. Don't forget about PVP.. You missed that one but yes well said. No one needs silly stories in a sandbox game.
  8. Duping has ruined official pvp servers!

Which is actually a really great thing. There is no way a new player that buys the game at the marked up price of $60 can even remotely hope to compete with tribes that have glitched, exploited and duped their way to victory over the last 2 years. A wipe has to happen.
  9. Adding pointless lore and fictional stories would be a grand waste of the developer's time. There are far more pressing issues the devs to address such as major bugs and overall game balancing. In any case I'm pretty sure this forum has a creative writing section in which you write your lore and share it with other role players.
  10. Server Wipe

The vast majority of players that I have spoken too on servers are in favor of a wipe. They understand that a wipe needs to happen for the sake of balance and that a wipe would also make the game more interesting not only for new players or returning players but also those that play it at a high level.
  11. Server Wipe

If they let nature takes it course on PVE servers then they wouldn't have issues with giant laggy bases dotting the landscape. The strong would survive and the weak would be destroyed. That is how it should be. The real problem is the artificial safety bubble that exist's on those servers that means your never in harms way or at risk of losing anything. It's like some schools today that give awards to the disabled kid that came last in athletics race simply because they want to make him feel like he's a winner too. Reality is a bit different but like those kids there are these PVE servers created for those that can't handle true competition.
  12. I'd like to play on Officicials butttttt.........

I kill new players and their bases if they don't have the required documentation. For instance if a new '123' player joins my server and no one in my tribes knows them they are instantly put on the death list. Same for other suspicious types, such as players with a lot of hours suddenly joining. Even if you don't tick those boxes if you build some shack where I don't like it I'll come along and eat it either my 300 lvl Giga or with a bunch of C4. Either way it and its owner are dying. People complain about this all the time but I always tell them what I'll tell you. We control the server and we will do what we like. If you choose to join our server you are effectively are putting yourself in harms way. If your a genuine new player that isn't going to cause issues then I'm sure there are a couple Officials servers out there that might let you stay and build but most prefer to eliminate a potential future problem early rather then risk letting it grow strong. That's my take on things. Kill them early and kill them often. Don't let them build up or anywhere on your server. A dead server is a great server.
  13. Club nerf

Clubs and other KO weapons still need to be reduced in effectiveness. Weapons that kill should be preferable and overall more effective to weapons that merely KO.
  14. False Advertising?

A better question is how many times have you seen someone wearing TEK armor in a PVP fight?
  15. Devs does any of you play official?

Most of the devs and moderators are PVE players from what my sources have told me. It's pretty evident when you consider it took them over a year to balance flyers and 2 years to balance clubs. A PVP player would picked up on this straight away.
