  1. Yall have been killing it lately. A little break time is plenty warranted.
  2. I'm having fun with just the 4 critters in the creature mod. When TSW fully releases on ASA (even its several years from now) I may need restraints to stop exploring.
  3. So where's the big thing to look forward to regarding ASA this Friday aye? Idk, I guess take the discord with a grain of salt at this point. Millions of people are going to be very displeased if the trailer doesn't come out within the next 4 days. They'll have less than a week to find out PC specs if it doesn't. Another option is just blatantly saying "oh hey by the way if you actually want to play the game without fire hazards use this" so people would buy it. Lots of busy people need these dates early so they can plan to be there at launch. Maybe it's just the final certification being a day or so late but still the hourglass is running dry and hype is unbelievably unstable. You all got us very amped with your trailer praise, and the raptor, and the discord notes but advertising the wiki and the dreadnoughtus concept... while cool they really just slammed us with distrust, worry, and irritation. You've got less than 2 weeks before release and 4 days to release a trailer before the community kinda explodes in fury again. This whole project has been elusive and destructive to the community. Idk, I love the game but i wish i had more faith in what you people of the team publicly say. I'd love ASA to be successful but it can't be as good as it could if all of the PC players are delayed because they need parts. Plus that would hurt the community mentality even more. Again Idk I'm not as angry as others just disappointed and not sure what to think of the current situation. Even a "hey its still in cert but on track or we are updating the trailer with dates because cert finished" would have avoided all the poor reactions in the comments for this crunch. I just hope post release you all could be a little more straightforward. Tell us what you want us to know and if you can't say anything, say that you can't say anything. Denial is better than radio silence. Whatever is happening behind these imaginary curtains, good luck and work hard you're almost there. I'm sure the team has probably reached a near breaking point trying to make this is what 7 months? - a survivor worried about his next journey's start and the people making it possible.
  4. Thats literally what the cyan stuff on all extinction creatures is. Corruption that they adapted to live with and element that was incorporated into their biology. Corruption is just unstable element in a sentient form. Chemically overpowering it would be possible. Velonosaurs, Manas, and gasbags are the direct result of this.
  5. That depends. If darwinopterus wins the second stage. If it does then no. If it doesn't that's up to the creator or anyone else who makes a different darwinopterus.
  6. A new medium carnivore in the only place on extinction with no tameable creatures because fleshy striders were removed? Count me in. Love the abilities.
  7. You honestly may have made the best rideable flyer concept from a vote yet. A actually interesting, map thematic, and well designed flyer that isn't just another azdarchid quetz reskin with giga stats. It's like a reptilian griffin-ferox intended to use the creature itself as the main damage source. Literally the polar opposite of dreadnoughtus but it might be my favorite concept so far. Though the thing has to be insanely smart or dumb as rocks because it can disobey/ignore element's hivemind XD.
  8. So i have 3 questions mate. 1) Can it eat veggie cakes. That is a very valuable peice of info that could potentially make or break the concept in terms of OPness based on my next question. 2) could you give a rough estimate of your intended base stats or average stats. Gigas for example usually come out with around 500 dmg and 25k health. 3) would you want level requirements for taming in general (like with crystal wyverns) and what level would you want the normal saddle. I'm here to critique and question because I really want to get a good well rounded creature that won't break everything for my main vote on my personal favorite story map. I'd hate to see this concept become the next astrodelphis.
  9. If you read fully it will be out of early access when all the dlcs have been remastered. ASE is a finished product with 12 or 13 maps (I might have missed one). They can't call the remaster "Fully released" until all the current content from ASE is in ASA. It's not going to be like early ASE when the island had a hole in it, and wasn't even done and they announced and made scorched earth before release and everything was a buggier mess than it is even now. What that does mean though if they follow the current pattern with Island and scorched is that we get a new map every 2-3 months. Pushing ASA fjordur for example all the way to between 24 and 39 months from the release of the island. So about 2-3 years. But hey we get the best story dlcs next year. 😆 Ark 2 pre-order in 2027 on the Xbox Y and Playstation 6. (Joke)
  10. Its all good. (You can make another entry if you want) or if you think your new idea will work for it you could start an abberation concept. Judging from "merging with the moa" I'd assume you made an elephant bird? I too hope they do some antasy creature votes eventually. But for right all 6 current story maps are getting a real creature. The same way all the previous votes went.
  11. No. I believe you misunderstood. The rule is that it has to be based on a real prehistoric species. If exaggeration through the addition of claws, horns, size, and other parts was not acceptable more than half of the entries would be invalid. Again staying true to the real world has never been necessary. The most recent contest is evident of that. Same rules that time and look what won. A giant flying insect that produces resin in its abdomen that looks to be between 15-20 feet long. If the idea was true to reality we would have an earwig the size of a players thumb or the concept would be entirely invalid as the only fossil is a singular head in some amber. With this all in mind I'd love to see you come up with something for the aberration vote. Keep cool, process carefully. Good day to you.
  12. And the giga is over 80 feet in length. the spino has no paddle like tail. the titanosaur is a Mish mash of sauropds. the amargasaurus definitely did not shoot its spikes like artillery. dilos were a bit bigger than in game raptors or barys, had no frills and did not spit venom. Real life jellyfish use venom and harpoon to sting not electric arcs. Electric eels didn't live in salt water. Mosasaurs lived near the surface because it breathes air. Tusotutheis was a vampire squid. And so on. Ark is not, will not, and never has been realistic with creature design. Decorative horns don't make this entry violate the rules at all.
  13. Is this supposed to be a comeback? The charca is a relative if the giga that was close in size even in real life. on the other hand the real megaraptor was about 2 meters tall (between 6 and 7 feet) This thing size wise would be about equal to ark's raptors and baryonyx if it kept a realistic size. Even super buffed up it would barely come close to allos without being completely nonsensical. If this wins it won't be another giga. Not even another rex. Think more like bary sized elemental raptors that hate everything that flies.
  14. This is probably the only rideable theropod concept I like this vote. "Ark has too many theropods... blah blah" I don't care. The snippity snappity byird lizards are cool. Now I agree with some other people this is a bit much. But simultaneously its not too much. The only criticism I can offer is perhaps removing the visceral/bleed/crushing ability. Or at least make it simpler. The wyvern talon and dodowyern mask abilities are awesome. (How Would crystal wyvern talons interact in the future?) I like the jumping, the flyer knock and all that. But the C/stick attack could be a little less. I think something like simply making that attack a dodge/lunge could be cool. Not an attack just something for mobility. The charged version of this could be some kind of scythe clawed slap or tail slap that "knocks the wind out off flyers" but mechanically just stam drains them. Now that criticism is over here's my ridiculous tanget of some extra ideas. Just a few. - the alpha fire wyvern trophy. Maybe this could be equipped like the talons but would astetically have a wyvern skull sit on top of the maip's head maybe being a stronger version of the fire talon mode. - crystal talons. Since crystal talons are general and not specific to tropic, blood, or ember maybe this talon acts as some kind of defensive buff instead or slower attack speeds that hit harder. Maybe coating the horns/claws in crystal. - alpha crystal talons There are only alpha blood crystal wyverns so maybe a lesser version of the blood curse, corpse healing, or a basic bleed could be the effect from this talon. - wyvern queen. That could look like crystal version of the alpha trophy's effect with the skull and could functionally work like the dodowyvern. Causing either a stacking fire effect, or attack speed boost for ember. 25-50% power version of the aquatic buff for tropic and the previous concepts for blood. That is all. I like this concept as medium theropod completely designed around wyvern killing and secondarily as a flyer counter. I can see "It's John Cena" edits already if this thing could jump up and smack flyers to the ground. Great concept and good luck fellow entry person. I won't leave my entry here as I mistakenly did a few times already in conversation.
