  1. From the videos/streaming (allowing for compression effect) on console, it's definitely not visually impressive for a 2023 game. It is early access and barely made it out the door of course, so some improvements might be made on console versions eventually. Compared to the PS4 version (never got next gen update) it is still an upgrade, I guess. But, is the offering at the moment really worth it all things considered or is it better to wait a few months to see how it shapes up? Well, that's up to each individual. Personally, I'll wait and see...I'm not fussed about just replaying the Island at it's current state.
  2. It'll be just in time for a next, next gen patch like the PS5 got then...aww wait...
  3. Is the lack of the ground tessellation on console a permanent feature or just hasn't been implemented yet? I've seen some pretty weird flat gravel textures (not even the usual norm/spec maps for the 3D illusion)
  4. I believe they said they only implemented parts of Fluid Ninja...performance and all. A question I have is what happened to ground tessellation in Xbox? It seems to be completely missing and instead some very weird flat rocky ground decals
  5. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think a lot of the issues are down to the simplistic walking animations that cannot cope with the more complex environment geometry. Especially in the Island which has incredibly higher density of rocks, trees and sharp elevated terrain compared to DLC maps that followed it. I think you can also tell by some of the much later creatures that were introduced with much more refined and higher quality animations.
  6. CDPR is still doing great...Anyways, PS players will get to enjoy Extra Life event same as everyone else...kinda reminds me when you setup the dinner table and the family dog is sat there on the side looking at the food you're eating, sniffing the air and drooling lol. Enjoy folks, you're bound to get some scraps at the end, no need to throw tantrums
  7. I wouldn't be betting on any date with these amateur clowns, you're just setting yourself up for more disappointment. Its just as likely to be next year as they've not once given a specific target date for PS5. At least you'll get to see how it looks and runs on Xbox so you can expect a worse port on PS5...least amount of effort as always.
  8. With a lvl45 easy to craft saddle requirement, it's still a solid all round early tame able to also harvest both meat, berries and early honeyX3 ( a bit rare to get access to gillie and bug spray this early) and lastly shooting while riding. I'll stand by the point that it's the animations that let it down for movement&fighting
  9. Nope, ain't no way of that happening so get those torches and pitchforks ready. You know what's ironic...PS5 version wouldn't launch even if it passed cert before Xbox now....cause you can't have a MS partner launching it on PS before xbox.
  10. Lets not forget this was originally slated for an August release, then became October, then November and you still can't pin down a release date...still a bunch of amateurs 8yrs and hundreds of millions later. Anyways, it's been over 3 weeks now since it was released on PC and since you ain't really that bothered with other platforms I watched streams etc to get a feel of the game and experience second hand all it has to offer. I mean beyond the shine, its just the same old Island and creatures/items/game loop. Honestly the 'hype' and 'wow' factors are now gone. I got used to seeing the graphics and barring a miracle console versions will pale in comparison visually. So, I genuinely don't feel any urgency or craving to just replay the Island any more. Bottom line is...I don't care for it and sure as hell don't care for you upcoming PR events. Last thought around their two upcoming events though...don't be a douche if you attend. If you want to express dissatisfaction, don't attend at all. Less views and attention hurts a lot more in PR activities than spamming obscene abuse in chatrooms etc.
  11. It's just very bizarre how the sea is like a cave. Nothing interacts/fights with each other and just waiting to agro on tames&survivor. It used to be that sharks at least attacked the Dolphins back in the day where their aggro range wasn't as insane. It's been said many times but the whole water ecosystem could do with a revamp, but I don't see it happening by Devs, only by moders. Partly why I like the addon moded creatures is because they actually fight each other and the vanilla creatures sometimes in the wild.
  12. The main problem with the Quetz I think is it's speed. If the Rhynio can carry everything and still be speedy, I don't see why the Quetz can't be about as fast. To be clear I'm looking at it from PvE standpoint. The niche Quetz is supposed to fill is the platform saddle ability(unique for a flyer), especially after the Rhynio was introduced. And although one can argue it can be found on a lot more maps, you know everyone transfers the Rhynio at the first opportunity so that doesn't matter as much. So, I'd say Platform saddle should become standard, fix the speed, increase the carry weight&stamina and lastly replace the god awful model.
  13. Bears are a solid mid tier tame and if anything they're underrated imo. They shine more in Aberration , no pun intended. Their only issue is movement were they rely on building up speed but get stuck on terrain too easily. Also their animations are way too simplistic and boring, so they don't look cool enough and ferocious. High lvl dire bear saddles BPs have also always seemed amongst the more common ones to find.
  14. There has been footage of people playing it on Xbox I believe (some weird glitch that gave them access it or closed beta, don't know). The footage I watched, showed someone loading it up and having over 7hrs on it. I thing it was on a Jade PG vid, so I'd say it is working for single player at least (I stand corrected as bellow). Cert is more about other stuff rather than how well or crappy the game runs when it loads up. For this particular issue at least, it's not about lying but rather the inability of project management to set realistic time frames and meet them. No amount of complaining will affect these release time scales, so keep calm and carry on as they say.
  15. The environment in ASA looks fantastic for sure. However, I think they need to go just a little bit further to liven it up a bit by implementing a few things they already had done later in ASE. In particular, I'd love to see a couple of simple, small aesthetic changes done. Mainly the flocks of birds they introduced a while back to liven up the sky, a similar addition with schools of fish and fireflies/Butterflies/bugs that liven up the environments and don't take up much memory to implement. Possibly the addition of small gusts of wind picking up patches of the odd dust as seen in Extinction and moving foliage. I believe these are small additions that could add alot to the life of the maps
  16. 16 times the 'Floaters' , it just works!
  17. Well, prepare for this week's ''Delayed release date Community Crunch''
  18. I don't suppose you remember WC's promise for that next Gen upgrade for ASE...delivered it on XBox and didn't bother with PS and never addressed the lie. PS players are always at the bottom of the list for them and that should be pretty clear to everyone after all the years of ASE. Its just the way things are and no amount of complaining will change it, so just accept it or move on. At least Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be out soon and probably before ASA on PS5. I'll wait and see If the PS5 version of ASA looks and runs like a potato by comparison to the other versions. If it does, I'll be jumping on that game instead even if it does cost more.
  19. I think you should take any justification they provide with a huge and healthy dose of scepticism, given their lack of honestly historically. I think at least half of the player base do single player. Most Steam Users(and content creators) seem to be sticking to single player till the servers get sorted in a few months really. Being early access, they could have simply disabled the MP function and launch the single player....unless, the actual issue lies with stability and performance with the game being so bad that was virtually unplayable during cert. The PC specs requiring 32-64 RAM while consoles barely have 16 is quite the red flag for me....
  20. The disappointments don't end....wait till you see how it looks and runs on consoles, especially on PS that's historically the worst optimised. It'll be worse than what ASE looks on PC and run at 20FPS, guaranteed....and stability...oof!
  21. I said it in my comments all the way back before August. It was always going to have a 3-4 month delay and be a staggered release with PC first, Xbox second and last PS5, because I know how you clowns work. You've always treated PS customers as second rate, which is why you lied about that next gen upgrade 3yrs ago now and always kept it as the worst optimised version of the game. So, this just reaffirms the pattern hasn't changed and the PS5 version will once again be the worst optimised with the most delays. As a Playstation customer, I'm not going to spend another 2 yrs getting 2nd rate treatment again whilst paying the same to get less. Even though I commented only 2 days ago my intention for buying it, now really I'm done with your BS because I know for certain I'll be setting myself up again for a 2nd rate experience all over again. Also, you put ASA up on the Playstation store wishlist, but you've used the same screenshots from the PC trailer which is false, misleading advertising. Put some actual in game pics&trailer so the customers actually understand what they're getting.
  22. I'm fairly sure I'll buy it on PS5 assuming I don't see shocking bad graphics when compared to what I've seen on PC. I mostly played single player for yrs though (except a yr or so on a server with friends), so the whole Nitrado controversy isn't of concern. Also, I do have some friends who started playing the Steam version for the first time and they plan on getting a server up, so if crossplay does become a thing it gives me more options. Honestly, it's not like I don't expect ASA not to go through the same pains as ASE in terms of bugs, bad performance and frustrations but overall I expect the good aspects to balance the bad ones the same way as ASE did for a casually fun overall gaming experience.
  23. Personally, I'm hoping to finally see the mods on console and in particular those that keep the 'Ark Theme'. In particular high quality creatures(new or vanilla replacements), maps with new bosses and activities for survivors and Maps with new varied assets instead of re-hashing or mix and matching existing maps. Maps that are as different as the paid Ark DLCs. I'm sure we're going into ''wish list territory'', but I do hope to see a mod that revamps the water fauna making it as fun and diverse as the land fauna. I've kinda given up on Wildcard revamping it really. It's just so bizarre seeing none of the creatures interact with each other and just waiting for a survivor to jump in and be laser focused on them....like caves where everything just sits still waiting for you. It works for the caves to a degree for spookiness, but not the ocean which feels wrong.
  24. Given the struggle I see with PC hardware to make the game playable and look&run good, it is very worrying for consoles. I do hope they add two Graphics settings options. Bumped up visuals capped at 30fps and performance mode with lower settings capped at 45-60fps (HZD style).
  25. Keeping real, I think Dinos have had the bare minimum changes (mostly resurfacing the outer layer detailing to take advantage of nanite which makes Normal/Specular maps practically redundant ) to be able to get the game out the door, which is understandable really. So, the wonky animations in particular as well as design of many creatures kind of look strangely at odds with the environment. Dinos are the centrepiece of the game really. As such, if they really want the game to look polished and future-proof visually, they really need to TLC pretty much all the creatures in due course. All the sea creatures are long overdue for TLC as well as the largest eye catching Herbivores whose models, animations and abilities have looked very poorly for far too long. I heard some complaints on streams around dino counts, but personally I would rather see a better spawn point distribution and use memory overhead for richer and more varied animation and behaviour work (even seen in the later modded creatures) to liven up them up.
