  1. I've been pretty silent since 8/8, that's mostly because of the mass amounts of progress we made. So here goes what happened in about 4 weeks. (there's a tl;dr at the bottom) Last time, I told you we wanted to relocate. We did that and were busy at work day on day off. I got home from my actual work one day and wanted to start on our breeding center. Though even the structures frame was green, I couldn't place them. There's a beacon drop within the perimeter of our chosen place. A real large and pretty flat area of around 20x20 rendered useless. There goes my plan on that building. The best part with playing on officials is trading, be it on your own server or through any website. If I remember correctly, T has been the first to acquire something through trades - a black/and green Jerboa. Sounds not like much but ever since, I've been hot on heels to scoure the forums for something worthwhile. It's not that you get that for free, but it's interesting how much fun you can make out of crafting 400 Adobe walls or 30 Stone Behemoth gates, just make it a race to get half of done first. The next weekend she told me, that one of our former admins, on the player dedi server we used to play on, gave their base on SE up in favor to stay on the island. He offered everything including most gear, bps and dinos. We gave away our base, we build on 889, for free and claimed our new-ish-ly acquired base. Taking our precious trades with us and left the rest of 'em for the new owner. Onto more breeding and trading, just on a different server and with more backed up materials to use. Those 2x and 3x events are awesome for breeding and gathering. I don't remember the timeframe on the next paragraph, can't be more than a week I think. Anyways, I got home from work the other day. T had already sent me a message that read 'Hurry, I have a surprise for you!', well I had to take a shower and eat dinner first. Man, have I've been excited to see what the fuzz is about. Once ready, I joined and wanted to know what's going on. Both P and T held their mouthes shut, leaving me even more suffering. Finally T said 'Get to a drop or obelisk and upload yourself' I did that and 'Where do we go?' I asked. I joined the other server and waited for T to pick me up. She's been in the same tribe that we got the base on SE from, and invited me as well. We flew over to their base and she said 'Pick one dino, it's yours. But let me give you a tour first' After touring through their homestead, I had to ask 'So why are we in their tribe now? And why is no one home? What's all that about?' And she said 'Well... this is all ours now, they decided to move off of legacy completely.' I was stunned, first we get a base with ~100 dinos for free and now another one with more than an additional 150?! (tl;dr) Apparently we are 'proud' owner of two bases on two servers with more than 300 animals after just shy over four weeks on official servers.
  2. We mostly went exploring the (new to me) SE map. At some point we stood on the edge of some small crevice. We were on the two low level Raptors, we tamed the other day. T said we could jump over it so I tried. A little run-up, timed the jump, lag and down I went on my Craptor (yes, it's his name). Luckily I could jump off his back in before landing. Here I've been, on a map that I don't know and in a dark and treacherous trench. 'Go left' she said 'I'll catch you at the exit'. I already lost orientation when I arrived at the bottom, so I had no clue where left would be. She's a genius, she threw a lit torch down the trench. 'Here, see that? That's left.' About 20 scary, but not really dangerous, minutes later we met at the exit. First thing I said - 'Bring me home, NOW!' On our way back, we found a neat and flat spot that no one built on yet. We agreed to relocate and build a little something over there, placed some thatch foundations to reserve the place. Back home, we prepared building pieces for an L shaped base in 8x8. Imagine the Tetris piece, with each of the three 'cubes' being 4x4. Later on a wild 150 lightning Wyvern flew around the edge of a hill, swooping in and out of render distance. He went off in the mountains, phew. As our friend P joined our party chat, we convinced him join us, even if he said he won't start over and especially not on officials. Only problem being, he doesn't own SE. The gentleman I am, I bought it for him and logged off for the night. Both, T and P have a day off today. Let's see what awaits when I get back home.
  3. Our unofficial server crashed yet again last Friday. The host decided to keep the server down for good. T and I decided to play on an official SE server until we get server rentals on console. We already had existing characters, so we transferred them to an SE server and met up somewhere on North 2. Or better said, I tried to find her as she already started to build a small thatch hut. Man, it is hot on SE. My water was constantly at zero, no stamina and then comes the first sandstorm. I haven't made it through. Died twice and we had no bed build yet. 'Why didn't you go in the tent?' she asked, she should've told me that. I've never played on SE before. But hey, I'm fine. We started to tame our first raptor and perfectly on time when it got tamed, a saber ate him and both of us. Alas, we had a bed to respawn now. Back to gathering by hand I guess. Later on we tamed another one, level 5. He can carry stuff, that's good enough. T found a nice spot to gather metal and we had a smithy and metal tools in no time. With the smithy came the opportunity to start renovating the hut with Adobe, so we did that with all the resources we collected earlier. I logged off for the night, but she kept playing for a while. I just got a message of hers that said 'We now have an Anky, Doed and Morellatops as well as two Jerboas.' She's been a busy bee this night.
  4. I love the hand-drawn stuff. --- So we get rentable servers earlier than Ragnarok?
  5. As I said earlier, our unofficial got wiped last week so back to square one. Though, we did pretty well over the weekend. If you've read the post on the last page, I decided to not leave my tribe. Pr left on his own. Friday started off pretty slow as I was on my own, waiting for T to get her bum up and start Ark. I convinced her pretty quickly though. P turned up shorty after that. The last night he got three ascendant fishing rods from one of our admins. We wanted to tame a Quetzal but we had no means to, only primitive rifle and tranq darts. We sat down on hidden lake and did fish for about 2 hours until we got a mastercraft rifle BP, and crafted one. We had another problem, the only flier we have is a Pelagornis and no way to pick him up. I went out to find a Pteranodon and quickly found a 130 and tamed this fella. Back home P prepared some crafting to get a few passive levels on the Ptera. And off we went. Last night he already saw a level 25 circling around the hidden lake. We tamed this one and did a quick metal run to get an industrial forge going asap. Saturday was the day all of us didn't do much. P had a barbecue after work and I haven't seen him at all. T didn't feel well the first half of the day and had a date later, so we only spoke for about 2 hours in the morning. I had not much time either, so nothing really changed in and around our base. Sunday, I've been on early and wen into the Redwoods cave to level myself from 88 to at least above 90 for the chem bench - ended up as 96 so I went hunting for biotoxin. Yay shock darts on a MC rifle, awesome. T had a bad hangover from her party last night so she turned on around noon at the earliest along with P. I flew around the map for two hours to see if I can spot something remotely useful to tame. Did see a 115 Yuty but I decided to not try to tame this guy. Don't even know how, with him scaring my defense away. Nothing for the rest of my journey. Almost home just along the treeline I finally saw something great - a 150 male Therizino. I yelled at T to get her rifle out - that I've finally found something. We tamed this guy as well and finished our weekend with some more fishing and some nice BPs along. More for me to sort today.
  6. Apparently I prepared to leave my tribe to start off as a lone ranger. Maybe I'll take P with me, I know him for years and played with him since release. tl;dr I'm sick of being in charge of everyone as the tribe owner plus building is on me all the time. long version P and me, we used to play on an unofficial for about a year (since release of The Center). The server did wipe itself for quite a few times, sure it's annoying. We started new every single time, switching back and forth between The Island and The Center. In the end, the server owner decided to keep the server offline due to losing people and his own interest in the console version (he's on PC now). We, P and me, played some different games and eventually wanted to go back to Ark. For some reason he had a friend in his list that owned a second console as a server to host Ark on. We were so excited to start over on a new server, make friends and 'waste' more time playing the most time consuming game ever played. So we joined and did the noob stuff you do when starting fresh. About a week later we were offered to merge with the alpha tribe. We did that and had a good time. They then decided to abandon their base in south jungle and move to volcano island, which was a great opportunity for the two of us - we had no clue where to find anything in their base. Said and done, T did build another huge base on the volcano island, pretty lange rooms, clear and organized. We have a rule on our server, that each tribe can have a port for water dinos. P and I used that rule to our advantage and build our own little haven. Everything went fine for about two month, then we got the update with those Thylacoleos and whatnot, not on The Center though. T convinced us to switch to The Island and we gave in to her begging. M left the server on that occasion, so it was up to the three of us. I went in and created our tribe and that was the day I became the one in charge for everything. Not a bad choice for the duration of us being on The Island. I had a week off of work and plenty of time building our new home. We went as far as we could with everything like ~40 boss Rexes, mutated Therizinos and Tapejaras, a vault filled with element and then - the server data corrupted. A sad day we had. We went back to The Center and started from scratch in hopes for the other save to un-corrupt on the next patch. I again started to build a new house - bigger and better than the last one. What a bad idea that was. It took about four evenings after work to finish the exterior. I did not go anywhere in those four days. That's where it began to get stale and boring to be who I was at that point. However, the others did a great job in doing what I didn't. We recruited Pr into our tribe and he also did very well. Two or three days later he confronted me why we have an admin area (filled with all the goods, fridges, ACs and so on) that he can't open, also he can't demolish or unclaim. I told him that we have to be careful with what we allow new members to do or see. Anyways, I knew him for a while already. He was a lone one back on The Island, we traded and did fun things together. That's the main reason we decided to recruit him in the first place. I gave him admin rights and he didn't abuse them - good. Two weeks into making ourselves a home, the server crashed again. Day one one the respawn screen. Day one and no character creation screen? All characters and buildings are still there, but the structures were 'unclaimed' so to speak, no tamed dinos around and all strorage was empty. The tribe manager still showed all activity though. There was nothing left to do. Either delete one or the other save. Our host deleted the Island save and there we are, back at square one yet again on The Island. I've been pretty much forced to build again and Pr and T are doing whatever they are doing. I haven't even had time to invite P into the tribe due to conflicting work schedules. I met him last night and we talked for hours on end. We will leave the two and do our own thing. It's not about me having to build all day long. It's more about Pr being suspicious about what I do and how much progress I make when I'm online, T doesn't get it that I'm not in love with her (we live in the same city, tho we never met each other), I'm about 10 years older and live a completely different lifestyle. It's simply not what it used to be 3-4 month ago. So, if anyone of you reads this - I would've told you personally. But that's how life is - harsh and unforgiving. --- on a side note, where's @Cymas? I miss reading your stories. :'(
  7. What an eventful day we had yesterday. First off, logged on pretty early as usual on a Sunday. P was already on what I didn't expect, and surprisingly he hatched pre-incubated Rex eggs for the backup-boss-collection and a few blue Theri mutations, nothing new here. Onto my daily things I always do first. I checked the tribe manager, nothing died - good for once, wanted to fill the throughs - all full. What a busy bee P was this morning, I later found out that he was already on since 4am. As perplex as I was, I probably stood there for 5 minutes not knowing what to do now. Anyways, I went to breed some Pteras in hopes of new combination amongst their stats. The mating process began and after they finished - no eggs. Must be a bug with our base littered with eggs and poop. Moved the remaining ones out to the taming pen and bred them over there. Good news - got all eggs dropped, bad news - nothing special with the babys. They did not made it through. As it already was about 1pm, I was worried where E was all morning long, rang her up and she logged on about 30 mins later. I've planned an event for the two of us for while. Naked, Mindwipe Tonic for each, place a gate across herb island and then timer on and one of us goes around the island in clockwise direction, the other one counter clockwise. (some of you may seen the videos from Slipgater and Mazion, that's exactly what we did) Well I was the one going clockwise. Went good until I reached the snow, placed down a sleeping bag and ran into the snow and made it almost through (we decided to skip the outer edge of the swow, instead follow the river up to Far's Peak(?) and back on the beach at the hidden lake) but a pack of Allos wanted me not to finish the snow in one go. Spawned back at my sleeping bag and spend some time to craft at least two new ones, one on the same spot and one halfway through the snow. Guess what, I made through the snow all the way around up until the northern edge of the swamp by the green obelisk. Hyped and thrilled with the progress, I forgot to craft sleeping bags while I go. Killed some Dilos for hide and placed one down. Immediately after I got eaten by a Kapro who also ate me while respawning. Back to the middle of the snow and yes, killed by wolves. Back the beginning of the snow on the western beach, a Rex on top of my sleeping bag. I decided to not start all over at our base, as E already made it almost around with only one death. She made it a little later, congrats sweetheart. After all the hassle we sat down in front of the ACs and had a few beer as that is some spare time to have a chat and relax. So onto the real deal for each Sunday - boss battles. Prep work is always done over the week. We used our newly acquired Tek Transmitter to get the Rexes over to green ob without the hassle to fly them on a Querzal back. We had enough mats to get into the Megapithicus fight four times and we made it through all four fights unharmed with 480 Element to call our own. After all that, it's already been 7pm and called it a day with a few more beer to recap our day.
  8. Hey man, I know you're hard at work. But could you edit the console patch notes to reflect up to which minor version of the PC updates we got?

  9. @Cymas P didn't die yesterday? That's a common thing to read in your stories, along with you rescuing his Microraptor.
  10. It's 71 post-tame levels (~2.5m XP max). So she would end up as level 274, but that's highly unlikely due to the minuscule amount of progress at the last 5-10 levels. Only thing I truly maxed is a frog, tamed from a 150. Using him in the swamp cave with an ascended saddle is amazing.
  11. Well, my day... it was yesterday, actually. After we managed to get 10 bred Rexes and a few bred Allos to the green ob from herb island, we started the easy Broodmother fight and surprisingly we've won. To our dismay, we found out that we only got 10 element in exchange for two dead Rexes and no more Allos after being tp'd out. We decided to try medium aswell, we had the artifacts ready and just needed a few more talons and teeth. I flew back home to get the artifacts and more Rexes, and my mates stated farming said items. I was back at the ob first and waited for the others. Well, here goes the not expected part. While waiting below the Rexes with the artifacts still in my inventory, I heard a smack followed by big red letters that enlighten me that I've been killed by (insert name) of tribe xy. I didn't lose much, JM compound bow and about 400 arrows some good and water. Alas, I sure did lose something of value - the artifacts! All of this ended with a semi raid against said tribe, who then went offline mid-fight to enable ORP and get out unharmed. We brought the Rexes back home and hatched a few more eggs. A chair and few beer sure help after such a day.
  12. Check the general forums. https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/forums/forum/3-general-discussion/ Keep an eye out whenever @Jat opens up the contents submissions for Community Crunch 79.
  13. Hope they'll do a Mega-Digest-Update soon. There's a lot of pages to go through already.
  14. Welcome everyone. Hope you'll have as much gun as we had for the last couple of months.
  15. Nope, not at all. I assume it will be brought to us with the upcoming 'procedurally-generated-arks' update at some point in December.
