More important: Will ASA have good controler and TV support for consoles? Do we get rid off all the ever changing double functions and overlaps of keys, the dynamic wheel wich even keeps changing while you are using it, interacting with an object outside the center of focus, menu fonts too small to read on a 4K screen unless you stick your head in the screen and all the other issues you won't notice when you test only at a desk setup on a small monitor with mouse & keyboard?

Don't forget, console gaming originates in the livingroom, on the cauch, staring at a TV.

You can download the complete server and upload it to your own private server, unless you are on console. In that case you have to rent your server from Nitrado.
Connection timeout does not mean the server is already closed, this is just ARK as usual. Servers close next friday end of the evening.
On initial saves you couls see profile files named after implant number but these are now saved differently as these files also could contained IP information, I have no idea how it is embedded now.
For transfering between servers you have to be on the same cluster so there is not a direct way to save your character from official to unofficial.

Only on rented Nitrado servers, not for download to your own console/pc.

Funny, they say midnight (24:00) but their calculator is using early morning (00:00). When using UTC, the 24hr is to be used. They should have sticked to their usual hillbilly potato time.

ASE is played for 8 years by many and ARK2 is a different game. Most likely we'll be just as surprised for the end of support as we were now. First end of events "cuz ARK2 soon" and now "Sunsetting ASE cuz ASA soon". It is the wrong order, twice in a row!
WC is quiting way before they offer their playerbase an alternative, no high expectations anymore on this one. Tme will tell indeed...

Just a minor issue here: I don't think MS is having issues with mods but Sony did give Bethesda loads of trouble for mods in their games on the PS platform. I HAVE NOT SEEN A SOLID CONFIRMATION THAT SONY IS OK WITH ALLOWING UNRESTRICTED MODS. Also the cut taken by WC is rather high, so mods getting a fair share is also up for debate here.
I realy do hope we are getting a pleasant surprise when it launches and I admire your optimism but me personaly? I don't like to exchange splitscreen multiplayer for crossplay in just a reskin.

Cynically I must agree with @arkgerman1975 because my view is that this is a flat re-skin with NO real benefit other than some prettier screen stuff. Which is why I also am not interested in any trailer for a game I have played for the last 8 years. Nor interested in even thinking about buying such a re-skin before there is some real (sorry to me the pictures are not that important) benefit evinced by the "new" game.

I'm afraid you are not wrong, altough it will kill the last piece of symphaty I have for everyone involved in the project if none of the great idea's are implemented and it will turn out to be just a reskin but without the splitscreen multiplayer.
The whole reason it is not a free port anymore was because of all the new stuff that would be added!
A decent updated in-game trailer would take away some of the pesimistic/realistic expectations. Also, still not even a placeholder in the PS store. And we are supposed to believe they will make the deadline 6 weeks from now?

We know ASE since 2015. ASA is not the same game, goin after all the hints and snippets shared it is just fair we expect an upgraded version and a gameplay trailer should help us to understand a bit better what to expect.
If you think nothing will be different from the 2015 game you have missed a lot since the 31st of march.

This is not an in-engine or in-game screenshot. Also this is not representative for anything in the game, only for the work of a mod creator.

Most think it could be a sequel to Gen 2, but for all we know, it will be about the beginning, even before the Island. Think about the mixed up order of Star Wars movies. ARK 2 could be something like that.

As far as I understood the trailer and the snippets of concept ideas from the CC's over the last 2 years, it will be about leaving the ARKs behind and starting over on a planet after chrashing there. So not the beginning but a new beginning.
