My point, the original point, was and still is that leaders are responsible for the products the company creates, and the leaders are at fault if the product is bad. That has been the actual point all along.

Your statement what I responded to was about not blaming devs for releasing half baked products and that they just should tell their leaders to wait till it's ready.

There's no such thing as a good company with good leaders and bad employees. Good leaders hire, and inspire, employees to be better.

However there are plenty of examples of bad companies with bad leaders and with good employees who are prevented from being as good as they want to be by the bad leadership.

Good leaders allow and encourage a company to be good, bad leaders allow and encourage a company to be bad. The the quality of the company, and the quality of the products they create, are ultimately the responsibility of the leaders.

All obvious but beside the point. My point was that if bad leadership is raping your dignity it is up to you if you accept it or not.

    • Swaths of areas showing NO dinos until you are pratically literally on top of them
    • Flying into things like gigas that literally appear out of nowhere because of the new idiotic rendering
    • Cant see your own dinos across your base
    • Cant go fast on a dino and have one follow because, wow, yep: they render out

Guess you are talking ASA but it sounds like what happened on ASE when servers got busy. Not realy sure if it is indeed smaller render distance or just slow rendering but it seems kind of scaling to server load.

A few exceptions?  Are you only playing games from last gen on your PS5?

Most games nowadays are absolutely 60fps as a standard. They might offer lower framerate quality modes, but 60 is generally the standard. Its not 2018 on ps4 anymore.

To be fair, my TV does not go over 60 fps. And I'm one of the people that most of the time go for quality over fps.
Still it's unreasonable to claim that 60 the MINIMUM is, it is the maximum at best in most cases. Even if 60 is the goal it is often not stable.

Besides... We are talking ARK here: Heavy duty and never known for optimisation. OG poster is crying for no reason while there are enough good reasons to cry about.

Please tell me you will be Adding a performance mode or something for ps5. It looks great but 30fps makes things hard to play after ages on everything being minimum 60. Bit concerned about it if I get surrounded by Wyverns in the Future.. or Bugs in a Cave..

Also drops to 20 if you're in a forest with a torch.

    BS.
As much as we want it to be "minimum 60 fps", on a console stable 30 is the benchmark with a few exemptions that have stable 60.
For ages... On a device that is just 3 years old...

I feel like we're talking past each other at this point. I agree with you about individuals being responsible for their own work. But their individual responsibility still cannot make the overall product better if they're working in a bad environment. No matter how much people are responsible for the quality of their own personal work, the overall quality of the product is still the responsibility of the owners and senior leadership of the company.

Maybe it's fair to accuse individual developers for failing or refusing to leave a bad company, but even if that's true it's still not the fault of the individual developers that the company is bad. The blame for a company being bad and creating bad products will always be the responsibility of the leaders.

Employees are responsible for themselves, leaders are responsible for the company.

I think we just have different opinions ;)
Leaders are only leaders as long as they have minions and followers. That can translate as employees and customers in we are talking companies.
And from that point of view they are responsible for who's the leader. Think the recent events with Open AI is an example of that.

Indeed not their fault but by inactivity to change it for sure they have a share in responsibility. Just as good as we have when we keep buying crap.

I hope its only me seeing that cuz no way im buying it lol

I just saw in CC 368 the following:

    Given the news:

ARK: Survival Ascended will now be launching at an Early Access price point of $44.99
    with a launch-discount bringing it to $39.99.

We had initially planned to ship with more content on Day One, but that won’t be happening, so we’re adjusting the launch price accordingly.

So for PS5 launch €339 is wrong buit the €44,99 I see is also not correct.
    Well played...

It's pretty dangerous logic to try to pursue an argument like this, there are too many problems.

    * Putting on tires is life-and-death. People can die if a wheel is mounted wrong, no one has ever been killed by a bad video game.

    * Even if no one gets hurt a badly mounted tire can cause thousands of dollars of damage to the car, a video game is not going to do thousands of dollars of damage to a computer.

    * People can (and do) sue mechanics for doing bad work. Even if the mechanic wins the lawsuit it still costs them time & money. That doesn't happen with video games.

The point is that it should not matter if your job is "important" or very small, if you take yourself serious you shoud alway refuse to do only half a job.
And yes, this can force you to tell your boss to go and pleasures himself and look for a new job.
Been there, done that. No regrets.

Okay thank you. Should make trading and buying better being able to trade with Xbox and pc players once the servers open up.

If that's what you want, just join one of the older servers. More worth trading there anyhow.

For the PS players that just want to play ARK instead of shopkeeper it is just bad news, the risk of not getting a decent spot on an overcrowd server is a lot higher now. The ammount of servers is too low for the current population and going at the ammount of new servers for the Xbox launch it is more than likely the number of new servers will be insufficient for new PS players and the already existing surplus of PC and Xbox users.

Obviously that's not the fault of the actual developers, the people who do the work, it's the fault of upper management and the people who own the company, but they are perfectly fine with people giving them money for a sub-standard product.

I'm not realy onboard with that idea. I mean, every mechanic with a little self esteem would refuse to let a customer hit the street with only 3 of the 4 tires mounted correct, no matter how loud his boss is yelling. Your boss might fool you once but next time you are just as bad.

Same go for us, the gamers: As long as we p(l)ay we are indeed supporting this.

  11. Just wondering how many new servers will we get for ASA on PS5?
Somebody recently pointed out there were not even 4k new slots at Xbox launch, this is not verified but is awfully little when looking at the numbers of ASE on launch of a new map.
With the new servers only being "console" and not "PS5" I expect a huge run of Xbox players that are strugling with overcrowded servers, creating the same problem over again.

I realy try to see some light at the end of the tunnel but with the usual lack of information it becomes very hard.

    Console only servers are PS/Xbox.

There will be no PS only or Xbox only official servers.

My issue with this wording is: Is there a difference between Xbox, the console, and Xbox Windows/remote/gamepass whatever other way they have expanded?
With the huge delay of PS over the other platforms I realy think they should offer PS only for the time being.

I own both PC and XBOX versions. So far my best experience is on console. Also It literally didn't show up to buy untill the day of. So my guess is this time tomorrow.

The placeholder is already in the store for months but the date and price are still undecided. Normaly that info is updated even if there is no pre-order.
This gives me a strong feeling the promissed "early acces" discount is "forgotten" just as happened for Xbox.

A very useful Tip, I say it myself, if you dont have a bunker, but rather just walls, is to keep in mind that Re-fertilizer can recover big rocks (ASE) These other players can use to get dinos over your walls...
Remember where those big rocks were, so you can fortify your walls better at that point, or replace your walls more accordingly...

Re-fertilizer is annoying to work with but indeed a possible tool for trolls. Unfortunatly there's not much you can do against a quetzal or other dino with platform saddle and ramps except becoming paranoid and make the walls realy high.
