  1. That's what they said. "ARK 2 will launch in 2023, simultaneously on Steam Early Access and as a console launch exclusive for Xbox Series X|S and with Xbox and PC Game Pass on Game Preview."
  2. Ark 2 will be in beta (early access) when it's released. Just like Ark 1 was.
  3. Most of this looks pretty fun. I hate 3rd person views and Souls combat... Yikes.
  4. We shall see on the 12th or the 14th with the extended event. Rumors are fun!
  5. Nothing of the sort has been officially stated. There may be talk of Ark 2 at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase this Sunday: https://gamerant.com/xbox-showcase-games-ark-2/ So maybe we'll know then.
  6. In Ark, that's all that matters my friend.
  7. The graph shows the player base staying nearly the same. Over the entire life of the game. What you are talking about is those same players are now spread out among all the new DLC/other maps which is undoubtable true.
  8. Clearly states you don't get the DLC for free. Just the updated original version you already paid for.
  9. They just did, quite literally, update the game people already paid for. For free.
  10. I've removed posts having nothing to do with the Switch platform. Please do not hijack threads.
  11. If you were around when you could pick them up on PvE before they changed it, you would know why. People would spend all day picking up high level dinos and dropping them in bases, taming pens, you name it. Good times.

    Ark 2 ideas

While that's a silly assertion it's also impossible. They are building on a new version of the game engine. The old code isn't compatible.

    Ark 2 ideas

What about the people that don't want to PvP at all (i.e most of the player base). This would get completely abused.
  14. Vin didn't buy the company. He is employed by them.
  15. You are only seeing Steam players. Epic players don't show in those numbers.
  16. While that is possible. Ark 1 is probably going to go the way of all older (tech) products. All products are built with some amount of engineered obsolescence. Otherwise, you can't sell new ones to the consumer. I'm willing to bet Ark 1 will be left out on the vine to slowly die therefore pushing the consumer to the new product (Ark 2). It's nothing new or groundbreaking. Just business. Here is my take. Events will end. Once Ark 2 is released, support for Ark 1 will end entirely. Ark 1 servers will slowly be taken down and repurposed for Ark 2. TBH, this could all happen a lot quicker than that as well. It just depends on how fast they want people to purchase and move on to Ark 2.
