  1. In the morning logged on to (Official, Valguero), checked on the babies. The tropeo was gone, but there was nothing about her death in the tribe log, so I decided to drop all babies form the maewing to see if it's a glitch. And it was! Upon dropping the babies the tropeo appeared, alive and perfectly fine. There still was plenty of meat both in the trough and in the maewing. I bred gigas (only one was ready) and wyverns, didn't keep either of the eggs, and that was all on Valg for today. And just now I refreshed the base on (Official, Crystal Isles) and fed dinos both on (Official, Lost Island) and Official, Extinction). On Extinction I was greeted by a shadowmane sticking through my wall. As it was in no position to block anything, I assume it was dropped there accidentally somehow, rather than placed on my base intentionally. Ad that's all for today.
  2. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, refilled maewing, unpodded gigas and the sino. Unfortunately, I didn't put enough meat into the tek trough yesterday, so only one of the tropeos survived (the mae was fine, being omnivorous saved its life). Bred sinos, gigas, wyverns, tropeos, argents and mantises, one argent egg kept (clean female). Hatched yesterday's eggs and put the tropeo and argents (twins) from them with the maewing. Made some cementing paste. Removed all sulfur form the tek trough, replaced with meat, turned the generator on. This time everything that stays out should be fine. Podded gigas and that's all for today.
  3. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, refilled maewings. Bred tropeos, wyverns, gigas, maewings and mantises (tropeo stays. The rest as always). Replaced the male dodo and sino breeders with the newly grown ones and bred, one sino egg stays (new guy's stam mut not inherited, but mutated colors are, and there's a dark purple mut which goes quite nicely with magenta body (would be an eyesore on a larger dino, but sinos are great i bright colors). Unpodded for raising gigas, tropeos, and a mutated mae that I had for a while. Took a stack of darts, a rifle, two boxes of chocolate, two stacks of narcotic, and 7 pieces of best kibble and went to tame... Something. Yep, I had no clear goal. None. Zero. I just looked at every knock-out tame I saw to decide if I want it. Nothing caught my eye, until I went to the snow and saw HIM. Level 145, male, red-and-white argent. I NEEDED to have him. I tamed him with no trap and no net, just shooting him while flying on my sino. He hurt me quite a bit - no wonder, I've been wearing only cloth armor (good cloth armor, but still) lately and didn't change for the hunt. Good thing I had two boxes - turns out it's not just tames they heal - they work for players, too. Finally I knocked him out, fed him the remaining box, gave him the kibble, enabled tracking and went far away so that being unrendered would protect him form danger. As I was waiting for him to get tamed, I went wandering around, ended up on the mountain and accidentally discovered that the bones there give keratin when harvested. Neat. The argent ate just one piece of kibble and already was only one more away from being tamed, so I went quickly back to take away all but that one piece - just because I barely ever tame anything doesn't mean I should sacrifice some of my kibble to however many points his "food" stat will increase post-tame. Finally, he was tamed. I named him Bloody Cupid, exported his stats (36 stam, not bad. 28 weight, bad but whatever, 39 melee, great, 41 oxygen... Dude, what?), podded him and went home. Home I decided to start my argent breeding anew. I unpodded my clean females (Snowy, Sophani and Nightmare Shadow), and put Bloody Cupid with them. I also unpodded my flawed, mutated females from the old time and killed them, so now the only female with a mutation that's left is Sapphire, who is a resource run argy, not a breeder. This time I'll do everything properly, no mutations allowed on females and all. I mean, I used to keep some mut females because "but it's on stam! I'll definitely breed her to a male and get a male with that stat instead!" And guess what? I never did anything with them because I'm too lazy for that. The first eggs weren't any good, only one kept (clean female), but I'll keep trying. Threw out some sulfur from the tek trough, put meat in there instead, and turned the generator on, because the tropeos and the mae are staying out for the night, podded the gigas and that's all for today.
  4. (Official, Lost Island) Fed dinos. (Official, Extinction) Fed dinos, did a dust run (with a wyvern, because more fun), 16 whole stacks plus a bit extra. Uploaded the dust. Considered taming a second megalo, but realized I don't have any live cryopods here, so didn't do that. (Official, Crystal Isles) Refreshed the base. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, refilled maewings. Bred gigas, tropeos, sinos and wyverns, put the new eggs into the incubators, hatched the eggs form the last time. Killed the green sino, looked ugly, the other one will be raised to become a new breeder. Out of the new eggs only two stay - clean females, giga and tropeo. Unpodded two gigas, a sino, a tropeo and a dodo for raising. Unpodded my bronto and went to the swamp, got a ton of rare flowers, won't need a new flower run in a while. 2 stacks went into each of my two hives, the rest is in the fridge. Repodded gigas and the tropeo, sino and dodo are staying out. Logged off... Then remembered I forgot to retrieve the dust, so started ARK again, took the dust, made it into element and shads, and THAT'S all for today (good thing I remembered about the dust!)
  5. (Official, Valguero) Bred wyverns, gigas, sinos and dodos. Made EVEN MORE tranq darts. Just because. Unpodded Mara (my only female tropeo) and bred her to Stripes. Hunted things, first with a magma (for fun) then with a giga (to actually get meat for the troughs). While hunting with the magma found out that it's not a great idea to keep magmas on anything but passive - in a misguided attempt at protecting me Hothead nearly killed me. So it's passive for him and the other two from today on. Gave bees more flowers. They were almost out. Next time I'll DEFINITELY do a big flower run! ...If I don't forget again, that is. Now, about the eggs: one dodo egg stays (male, new mutation: yellow on the head. Old mutated color (powder blue on the legs) inherited), two sino eggs stay (both male, one green on 0, I forgot what's the other, but it too has something new), tropeo egg stays (clean female), one giga egg stays (clean female. Yes, I have a lot of those. But after that one time with a rollback I decided to keep all 21 point melee females again. Just in case). Everything else cracked. And that's all for today.
  6. (Official, Crystal Isles) Took a wyvern and wandered around the map. Found a cave, entered, killed a purlovia, got attacked by another, left the cave. Might go there again at some point, but without fighting anything (dinos too high level. Would have to transfer something actually battle capable to CI for that, and that's just not happening) - just to take a good look around. It seemed nice. Grabbed a few drops, in one was a tropeo saddle. (Official, Lost Island) Fed dinos. (Official, Extinction) Fed dinos.
  7. (Official, Valguero) Yesterday's dodo egg hatched, new mutation didn't look exciting (as I said once before, I don't really remember what color region is for what on what, so actually seeing the dino still comes as a surprise), so I killed it. Bred gigas, sinos, wyverns and dodos. No eggs were kept. One giga egg was with a mutation, but it was a female and the mutation was on stam of all things. Plus the color was boring. Fed dinos, filled a maewing with meat, unpodded the baby gigas to raise them some more. Killed things for the sake of killing things (to be exact, used my sino to fly around while shooting deinons and brontos with my pistol). Grabbed two deinon eggs, 135 and 20. Cracked both after seeing the stats and colors: both were going to be ugly, and the stats were bad on the 135. Made more tranq darts. I already have so many that I'll probably never use all of them, but still, nice to have a lot. Should make more gunpowder at some point, though. Repodded gigas and that's all for today.
  8. (Official, Valguero) Bred dodos. Nothing else was ready. One egg stays - male and a new mutation. Found some decayed dedis, looted the stim one (partially) and the narcotic and chitin ones (fully). Got so much narcotic that it didn't fit into my vault, so made a few hundreds of tranq darts from the rest. Gathered some rare flowers, not much. Didn't feel like going to the swamp, so just went to the nearest spot where they grow by themselves. (Official, Lost Island) Fed the dinos. (Official, Extinction) Same. (Official, Crystal Isles) Refreshed the base. And that's all for today.
  9. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, bred gigas, wyverns, mantises and sinos. Thought about breeding the dodos as well, but decided not to. Cracked all eggs except one of the two giga ones. Took Minerva (magmasaur) and hunted dinos just for fun. And that's all for today. Yep, another short day.
  10. (Official, Lost Island) Fed dinos, crafted metal pipes, tap and reservoir and installed all that, so once again I have water on my base. (Official, Crystal Isles) Refreshed base. (Official, Extinction) Fed dinos. Heard a drop, went to take a look, but it was yellow, so didn't do anything about it. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, bred gigas, wyverns and sinos, hatched the gig egg form the last time. All new eggs were cracked: wrong colors and weight on the wyvern, no new mutations on sinos, and both giga ones were unmutated males. Gave bees more flowers. Will have to gather more soon - I'm almost out of them. And that's all for today.
  11. (Official, Valguero) Something I forgot to mention the last time is that not just fresh gigas were unpodded for raising, but my second pink sino as well. And unlike the gigas, the sino was not podded at the end of the day since it eats non-spoilable food and not much of it. So I logged on to find it 98% grown, and imprinted it. Refilled the maewing and unpodded gigas. Hatched the mantis egg and put the new mantis with the maewing. Bred gigas, wyverns, and sinos, kept one giga egg, and cracked all others: no new mutations, no right color wyvern, no nothing. Went to the loot cave to see if there's anything decent, nothing good. Grabbed a few beacons on my way home, nothing good there, either. Podded gigas and the mantis, and that's all for today.
  12. (Official, Lost Island) Took down the stone pipes left from the decayed reservoir - when I'll make a metal reservoir, I'll install new, metal ones. Hunted, mostly for keratin. Killed an alpha raptor and an alpha carno - raptor because I wanted to, carno - because it was right outside my base so as long as it was alive I wouldn't be able to go harvest berries with my stego. Fed dinos. (Official, Crystal Isles) Refreshed base. Checked on the wyverns - Lilac was low on crystals. Gathered more and fed her. (Official, Extinction) Fed dinos. Tamed a level 10 tapejara just because it was stuck on my gate, but then killed it. Uploaded a stack of dust. Saw a drop nearby, but it was yellow so didn't try to defend it. (Official, Valguero) Remember how the last post ended with me podding the babies? The babies two of which are gigas so take forever to raise, and other two - wyverns with such a specific combination of inherited colors and stats that it's a miracle I managed to hatch whole two of them? Well, apparently there was a bit of a rollback, so the fact that I DID pod them was erased from history. They're dead. The fact that I entered my house and closed the doors before logging off was, of course, also erased from history, so I logged on to a deathscreen, and had to start my day on Valg by crafting new armor and weapons (well, at least new longneck is the best I've ever crafted - 212%!) and unpodding my old sino (a former breeder male named Ched) to carry instead of Wings, because Wings also died. After that I fed dinos, refilled the maewing and unpodded two fresh female baby gigas to raise, and bred gigas, sinos, mantises and, of course, wyverns. I kept one mantis egg, everything else I cracked. Of course the wyverns didn't give me a new almost-full-gray all-right-stats baby because that would be too easy, apparently. Probably going to be weeks before I get a new one. Hatched the ice wyvern egg from the last time, podded the baby. Retrieved the dust, AFKed for a while because I wasn't really in the mood to play but had to let the new gigas grow for a little bit, podded them, went into my house and closed the doors, waited for some time just to be safe and logged off. And that's all for today.
  13. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, unpodded wyverns for rising. Thought for a bit and decided to unpod the gigas, too - if I stick to just raising them on events, I might never finish them at all - so I filled a maewing with meat and put the two baby gigas near it. Bred my adult gigas, as well as mantises, sinos and dodos. Didn't keep any eggs - AB-SO-LU-TE-LY nothing good in them. No new mutations, and I already have plenty of female fail gigas in case something happens to the current two, so one of the eggs being female changed precisely nothing about its fate. Did a nice cement run, fed gachas a ton of arrows, cracked the resulting crystals for obsidian and made a lot of poly. Wyverns got hungry enough, so I went on a milk run. It was pretty uneventful, aside from me trapping whole six wyverns at the same time. Grabbed a 95 egg, too. Returned home, fed the wyverns, put the egg into the incubator - it's male, highest stat melee (26 points), colors seem to be okay. It stays. Decided to give the bees more flowers and that's where things went wrong: as usual, I took a repellant and two stacks of flowers out of the fridge, used the repellant, and opened the first of my two hives. It was full, so I took out one honey to fit the flowers. That was okay. Then I opened the second one, also full, took out one honey, put in the flowers, decided to eat the honey I took out and... The game froze so hard, that I couldn't even kill it in Task Manager. As if ARK decided that nope, today it says "No, thanks" to death. Had to reboot the computer. After that I started ARK up again and continued my day by wandering around randomly on my current favorite wyvern, Topaz Thorn. Ended up in the swamp, and saw a male sarco. I don't particularly care about sarcos, but that one looked nice (which basically means he looked black. Later it turned out he was actually black/gray/brown/green, but that's still pleasantly dark) and I had my rifle and some darts with me, so I tranqed him and went to grab some narcotics and kibble. Returned to the sarco, and decided to look around to see if there's maybe a high-level female for him, but no such luck. Tamed the sarco, named him Wiggles, brought him home and made him a saddle (I have a nice BP for that). Got a decent bonus on the saddle, too, it's a bit over 100 armor - BP's own is 85. Took Wiggles out to see how good he is... Well. Thanks to the saddle I didn't lose him then and there to some random raptor pair, but still he's not exactly usable by my standards. Low damage, slow on land, too fast in the water (hard to hit anything that doesn't just stay in front of his maw). He'll stay, but in a pod, not as something I'll actually use. Podded the babies (older giga almost 10%!), and that's all for today.
  14. (Official, Lost Island) Mounted my rex and went out to get some meat. Killed a raptor, headed for a pachyrhino near it, and the server crashed. (Official, Valguero) Bred gigas (kept one egg), unpodded Alduin and Asha to let them grow, but the game was running so fine today, that I podded them soon after and went into the Abyss instead to hunt crates. Wasn't my best crate run - for starters, just s I entered there were TWO alpha megalodons and five or six regular ones. I killed them all, of course, but that's 1/4 of my basilo's health lost right at the start. The loot was... Well it was. Nothing great, no BPs good enough to replace what I already have except for a quetz platform saddle which was 1 point better than the one in my vault, and everything I got as items was only fit for the grinder. Found a decayed vault, a bit of paste and a tek mosa saddle in it, which is not bad (I don't have the engram for that, nor do I have a mosa, but tek stuff is good for grinding up). All the heavy items except for the very last portion were uploaded, so I didn't have to haul all that weight around and just grabbed them from the transmitter once I returned home. Then I ground up the loot and made all the organic poly I got into soap. (Official, Lost Island AGAIN) The server came back so I went to feed m dinos. There was a bit of a rollback, I was in my house again, with the door closed, just like when I logged on the first time. My water reservoir auto-decayed because of course something had to be lost to the crash. I mounted my rex, killed some paras and pachyrhinos, gathered some berries and finally filled the trough. (Official, Extinction) Fed the dinos. (Official, Crystal Isles) Refreshed the base.
  15. (Official, Extinction) Did a small dust run, just 6 stacks, and I didn't even wait for the last two to become ready for uploading before, well, uploading all others. (Official, Valguero) Retrieved the dust and made it into element. Unpodded Alduin and Asha for a bit of raising. Fed dinos. Bred gigas, sinos, mantises and dodos, two dodo egg and one giga are staying, the rest cracked. Hatched an old giga egg and podded the baby. Repodded Alduin and Asha and that's all for today. Short and uneventful, I know, but that's how this day in ARK was.
  16. (Official, Lost Island) Crafted the items I was meaning to send to main base (a pressure plate and a loadout mannequin), uploaded them as well as some poly, some cementing paste, some electronics, a mammoth BP (because its pretty decent and I couldn't remember if the one I have o main is better or worse) and a tiny amount of dust. Fed the dinos. (Official, Crystal Isles) Checked on the wyverns, looked through my boxes to see if I have anything nice (not much A few gems, a bit of paste and poly, and a karkinos BP), took what I found and uploaded it. Also killed a level 20 tropeo. Wanted to kill it with my wyvern, but it grabbed me and I punched it to death. (Official, Extinction) Fed the dinos, uploaded some dust, poly, paste and electronics I had, as well as two Enforcer BPs and one Scout BP. (Official, Valguero) Unpodded Alduin for raising, hatched the eggs (giga and wyvern), podded the gigas (twins) and moved the wyvern, which I named Asha, to Alduin to let them both grow for a bit. Crafted and installed a tek transmitter and retrieved all the uploaded items from it. Turns out transmitter is a REALLY convenient thing! No more flying over giant lagfest bases just to grab some stuff. Probably could use it to prolong loot hunts, too, uploading heaviest and/or most valuable things and used SCUBAs at the crates and grabbing them from the transmitter after I return instead of being limited by my basilos weight. As for the plate and the mannequin... The mannequin seems pretty nice. For now I'm keeping my gasmask on it. Even if I won't use it much, it looks neat. The pressure plate does not appear to be particularly useful and doesn't look neat, but it didn't require much effort to make, so it's not a big disappointment. Also, I replaced my base's secondary, small gate with a tek one, so now I'll start using the small gate when riding out on a small dino again - something which I haven't done ever since I installed a trek behemoth gate. Bred dodos and sinos, cracked all the eggs. Nothing good in them. Gave bees more flowers, repodded the wyverns. And that's all for today.
  17. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, unpodded mantises and Alduin, replaced pvevious sino male with the now-grown pink one. Bred sinos, gigas, mantises and wyverns. Out of the eggs one giga one stays (clean female) and... The wyvern! Right colors, AND all right stats! It's female so Alduin will still be my main wyvern, but this new one will be his mate and give me plenty mostly gray, or, if I'm lucky with the mutations, even all gray babies. Unpodded boss rexes to assign whatever points they got since last podded (each only got one ew level, and I put each of those into melee). Repodded them. Took tributes and kibble (basic and a bit of simple. I'm not wasting the good stuff on a hungry pig). Took a gasmask, a gun and ammo, and stimulant. Took the rexes, the yuty, and the daeodon. And went to the green obelisk to fight the Beta bosses. It wasn't exactly fine. Upon entering the arena the game froze, so I couldn't mount my yuty immediately and since I forgot to put him on passive, he went to fight the dragon and after the game unfroze it is only by luck that he was still alive (half health) and I was able to mount him. It was also by luck only that the fight wasn't ended there and then by Dragon's pteras and dimorphos. Without my control, instead of a more or less neat boss-by-boss progression in turned into a giant fightpile. Also a rex died during those moments, but, believe it or not, it was the only one that died. Then, after I mounted my yuty and rexes were busy munching on the megapithecus (dragon was already dead, I even found a moment to take its dermis), the game froze again. It froze for a solid minute, I thought it'd disconnect! Fortunately, it didn't, but it felt like that minute shaved off a good few years off however long I'm supposed to live. The megapithecus fell, and so only the manticore was left... And the manticore fight actually was kinda fine! It landed often enough, I didn't even need to use my gun. I didn't get manticore's element and trophy, but aside from that I got everything I was supposed to get. After the fight, the rexes's remaining health ranged from "a bit over half" to "HOW ARE YOU EVEN ALIVE, DUDE?!", which is, honestly, better than it could have been. I podded the rexes, yuty and daeo (he ate all the kibble and had a bit of food still left, which was also better than expected) and returned home. Built a medium taxidermy base, put it on my roof and installed the dragon's dermis on it, replaced manticore heads on my trophy mounts with the dragon and megapithecus ones, put the element into the vault, podded the babies and that's all for today because that was more than enough excitement for one day. Like, seriously.
  18. (Singleplayer, Valguero, no SP settings, only mod used was one that allowed for instant cloning and dino base stat adjustment) Spawned tributes for beta, a yuty (level 100) and a saddle for it (91 armor, which is a few points worse than what my yuty on official wears). Spawned a rex and used the mod items to adjust its stats until it was about same as the worst of my boss rexes on official (a bit over 30000 health, 500-ish % melee), then made 16 copies of that rex. All rexes received 73 armor saddles, which is about same as the worst one I could make with my BP on official. The adjustment of the base stats was because I'm not leveling 17 rexes. Not even with commands. So I just made them right from the start. As the rexes were all clones, there was no mating boost (the mod allowed to change gender as well, but I decided to see if I could do it with the worst possible army - if I could, that'd mean my real one on official will do just fine) No daeodon was used, as it is highly likely that in the real bossfight I'll forget the food for it and it'll be useless anyway. The fight was... Well, it was a cluster*BEEEP*. The dragon did not come to me, so I had to send the rexes to it. Which meant fighting the dragon and the megapithecus at the same time, with the manticore occasionally joining in. A rex or two fell. But the dragon died. Then the megapithecus: a few more rexes died, and the manticore still joined in sometimes, but in the end the ape fell too. And then, manticore. It behaved in its typical manner, flying high most of the time, but it fell as well. More rexes died, I think I was left with six, but that's not important. Victory is. I remind you: this test run was done with worse rexes than the majority of my actual army is, with no mating boost, slightly worse than real saddles, and no healer. Also with the bosses behaving in the worst possible way. And yet I won. So it's safe to assume that when I decide to do the beta bosses on official, I'll do just fine (yes, I know I did beta test run in SP some time ago, with similar results, but repeated tests are good for confidence). (Official, Crystal Isles) Refreshed base. (Official, Extinction) Fed dinos. (Official, Valguero) Checked on the sino (growing fine), hatched the eggs (wyvern and two older giga ones), and the wyvern is so cool! You can barely tell he's not all gray. I named him Alduin. I podded him for later, but I'll definitely start raising him soon. Bred dodos, sinos and gigas. Kept one sino egg (mutation. Didn't compare stats to see on what, but just getting a mutation is cool), and... One giga! It's mutated! Not on melee, unfortunately, but the color seems nice so at the very least I'll let it hatch just to see what it'll look like. And that's all for today.
  19. (Official, Lost Island) Fed dinos, did a metal run, learned a few Gen and Gen 2 engrams to craft later. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, unpodded mantises for raising - and unpodded one of the twin pink sinos as well. Hatched eggs from the last time, replaced the previous dodo male with the now-grown one, bred wyverns, gigas, sinos, dodos and mantises. Out of the eggs only one stays... And it's a wyvern one! The health isn't right, but other than that - right melee, right weight, food and stamina, right gender (male) and all three grays inherited! So yeah. I'll hatch that, and I'll raise that, and then it'll be my main fire wyvern, but I'll keep breeding to try and get same but with right health, or maybe same but with gray or black mutation on the only non-gray region left. Gave bees more flowers. Made some kibble, ran out of longrass before I ran out of yuty eggs. Took my secondary ice wyvern and went to grab the artifact. It really was easy, and now I'm ready for the Beta - I'll just need to wait for a day when I feel like it and the server behaves nicely enough, maybe do a few test runs in SP before that, and then I'll do it. in the mean time the artifact joined all the others on my workshop's roof - it looks really nice. And then I repodded babies except the sino, gave Duck more chitin for the sino, and that's all for today. The Extinction and Crystal Isles sidebases will wait until tomorrow.
  20. (Official, Valgeuro) Fed dinos, unpodded mantises and a mutated dodo, bred gigas, dodos, mantises, wyverns, sinos and maewings. Out of all the eggs I got as a result I kept two dodo ones (female, but I wanted to see if their new colors look good enough to try and carry them over onto a male. They didn't, so I killed them), one mantis (male, mutated - pink (70) on region 0), both gigas (clean females), and one maewing (my first maewing mutation!) Also, checked my boxes and artifact pedestals to see what I have, because I want to do beta bosses at some point - turns out I'm only missing Artifact of the Cunning, and according to the wiki it's really easy to get on Valg, so I'll do that at some point. Repodded mantises, put more berries into Duck's inventory for the dodo, and that's all for today.
  21. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, moved the magma (uncreatively named Forge. Might rename him at some point, it was more of an "congrats, you're an adult now" name than a serious one) to his parents and gave him a few stacks of stone. Unpodded mantises. Hatched the eggs, decided to kill the twins from one of them (male), kept the female. The magenta sino egg also turned out to be twins, kept both. Bred wyverns and dodos. Cracked the wyvern egg - wrong colors again. Kept two dodo ones, oe form Veggie and the other form Eggvelyne the Slayer - both were male and had mutations, and I decided to let both hatch and keep whichever one looks better. Added more pillars to the elevator tower, and it's finished now. Took Hothead and went hunting things, not for resources but just because it's fun to kill stuff with molten metal. The dodo eggs hatched and I decided that the one from Eggvelyne the Slayer looked better (powder blue forehead/legs), so that one stays and the other I killed. Podded mantises. (Official, Lost Island) Fed dinos, checked the Genesis engrams to see what's worth crafting to send to main base (I men, other than another magma saddle), but haven't decided on anything. (Official, Extinction) Fed dinos. (Official, Crystal Isles) Refreshed base. And that's all for today.
  22. (Offcial, Valguero) Moved spoiled meat form the troughs to Chocolate's inventory and unpodded mantises for raising. Fed dinos. Imprinted the magma (he was already 99.7% grown, so that was the last imprint). Bred wyverns, mantises, gigas and sinomacrops. Out of the eggs: wyvern: cracked. Wrong stats, wrong inherited colors, pink mutation. Just wrong. Sinos: 1 kept, male, melee mutation, magenta on region 0. I don't really like magenta, but sinos are allowed to be whatever color they want - after all, being tiny and brightly colored is kinda their thing. Both mantis eggs kept for now, but I'll think about them again once they're hatched - might kill them after all. Both giga eggs cracked - clean males. Raided beaver dams again. On my way home realized that my elevator tower is an awfully awkward thing, not quite matching my other buildings (took me long enough), so I took down most of height, leaving only the first row of large stone walls, and then topping them with a single row of greenhouse walls (with the height difference between the gateframe and the last pair of walls before it smoothed out by a pair of sloped greenhouse walls). That, however, left the platform (which is actually the end of the pillar-suported bridge that leads to the workshop, and was always separate from the tower, it's just much more obvious now) to which the elevator arrives look as if it isn't properly supported, so I added more pillars from two of its ceiling squares to the tower's floor (though it can't really be called a tower now). In the future I'll add pillars to another two of its ceiling squares, for symmetry. The whole thing is now more in line with the rest of my base, and reworking it got rid of a large shadow over my raising corner. Once I was done, I imprinted Electro for the first time, podded him and the other three mantises, and logged off. And that's all for today.
  23. (Official, Crystal Isles) Refreshed base. (Official, Lost Island) Fed dinos. Wanted to go hunt beacons to maybe get something useful, but two disconnects in a row (good thng I haven't even left the base when that happened) discouraged me from doing that. (Official, Extinction) Fed dinos, checked nearby for drops, found nothing. Hunted corrupted dinos instad, just for fun. (Official, Valguero) Imprinted the magma. Pretty sure I won't get 100% on him, but a magma is a magma in any case. Unpodded mantises for raising. Bred wyverns, gigas and dodos. Thought about breeding mantises, but out of the two femaes only one ws ready, I'd rather do that when I can breed both (or better yet - when the other three females are adult too). Kept one giga egg, all others were no good - the wyvern was wrong color, and dodos had no new mutations. Hatched the previous giga egg - triplets! That's pretty great. Raided beaver dams, got 41 stack of cementing paste. That, obviously, took the majority of my day in ARK. Harvested some stone and made some more paste. Podded mantises and that's all for today.
  24. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, imprinted the magma, wanted to breed something but only owls and one of the mantises wasn't on cooldown, and I wasn't in the mood for the owls, so all I put into an incubator today was one pathetic mantis egg (and it was a bad stat male, so I cracked it). Unpodded Electro for more raising and hatched eggs from the last time. Podded the giga, and moved the mantises (yep! Plural! There's three of them!) to the raising corner. I named the mantis triplets Branch, Sprout and Stick, to keep with the theme I set for my female mantises a long time ago, when I named my first bred female Leaf. After that I filled gachas up to get more obsidian. I used arrows instead of stone this time, and got tons of crystals, and from them - tons of obsidian. By "tons" I mean that I got so much obsidian and made so much polymer that my cementing paste vault is now completely empty. Absolutely. Not a single piece of cement is left. Awesome. Once the gachas ran out of arrows for the last time, I podded the mantises and that's all for today.
  25. I'm a PVE PLAYER. That's a thing that exists. While I do have some pillars, it's only about a giga's length and a half worth of territory, right next to my base, simply to prevent people from building a giant lagfactory close enough for it to affect me (I only pillared after experiencing, for several months, how it feels to have a giant lagfactory built right next to my base. Not fun. Had meat-stuttercrawls instead of meatruns. My base, on the other hand, is low/no lag, with a few small/medium buildings instead of a giant box or castle and the number of unpodded dinos never even reaching 100). My base is not on the beach, and the only chunk of the beach I own is literally a tiny strip from which my (fairly small, smaller than an ocean platform) water pen extends, so I do not prevent Bobs from settling, nor do I prevent movement of rafts. Neither my base nor my water pen's land part encompass a spawn zone, so people do not end up trapped on my territory.
