  1. The dinos are harder to trap now, since they tend to avoid buildings, but it's still doable. I'd forget the Youtube crew and try different things until you figure out what works. Put building pieces on your hotbar and be ready to build quickly once you have the dino in a good spot. As mentioned above, dino gates are your friend here, but you can use foundations and walls too. If you're fast enough, you can build passive dinos into traps when they stop walking. Have plenty of material ready -- it probably won't work the first try. If you have a tribemate around, it's even easier. We've had one person act as bait while the other builds a quick structure around him. It doesn't have to be pretty; just effective.
  2. Try the showfloatingdamage setting in gameusersettings.ini. It works on servers; may work for SP as well.
  3. That's odd behavior with the C4, but you're forgetting something important -- many dinos that can damage wood structures can't damage stone.
  4. If you're killing lots of babies you'll end up slot-capped with prime in no time. I usually avoid them for that reason.
  5. I was looking through our blueprint vault on SE today, and I realized it's almost entirely saddles. Not a single hatchet, chainsaw, pike, shotgun or piece of armor. What happened to the gear BPs? Surely we haven't been that unlucky. Maybe the drops on SE are sparser than I remember.
  6. Add AllowCaveBuildingPvE=True to your gameusersettings.ini and PvEAllowStructuresAtSupplyDrops=True (although it sounds like you have that one already).
  7. It's two real-world weeks when you're playing on a server. I'm not sure how single player handles it -- you might have to leave the game running for the equivalent of two weeks. The ini changes might be just for servers as well. I'm not sure how the game handles that in single player.
  8. You don't need 200+ rexes for the gamma broodmother, but you do need better dinos than you have. I could write paragraphs about the subject, but the basics are simple: tame 135+ megatheriums or rexes (whichever one you have a better saddle blueprint for), breed an army and put them in a cryofridge for a couple weeks to level up. Put the resulting points into health/damage and go try the fight.
  9. I don't see why you can't take the essence to SE or tame an Oasisaur and bring it to the Island. You'll have to move quickly though -- you have 24 hours (or less by now) before that death essence expires.
  10. Is the FPS issue fixed? I still regularly drop to around 30. I was rarely below 60 before the patch.
  11. I have no idea, but I'd prefer that the development efforts go toward making the game run better before another map comes out. One of those recent patches brought down the framerates of me and the group I play with by a noticeable amount. I'm running at 30-50 fps most of the time now, which is lower than I can stand.
  12. I'm assuming this was an accident, since I can't find anything in the patch notes about overall changes to the graphics.
  13. That damage stat is good. I'd look for one with a better health stat though.
  14. Most of us only do it on official settings, so it's hard to say what would work with single player settings. We did the beta with a similar blueprint and lost a few of our theris. They weren't the greatest theris -- if I remember right they were born with 35-40 points into each of health and damage.
  15. It's been working great for my group so far. We've had some bugs, but all relatively minor compared with what I read about on official servers.
  16. Ah, I see. We never had a use for a replicator when we first did Ragnarok either, but we did actually find a use for the element later. We came back to Rag at some point after Genesis part 1 and took advantage of the big metal/obsidian spot in the desert using a hover skiff and a magmasaur. We had enough element around to craft the hover skiff and keep it powered, or maybe we imported some dust from Extinction. Either way, it did eventually come in handy.
  17. Element has little use without the replicator. If the thing is too big and ugly for your base, build it somewhere far away.
  18. It's not entirely possible anymore, as things like the original kibble system and the unrelenting raptors on the beach aren't in the game. If you want to go through the game as slowly as the original, adjust the XP multiplier down to 0.25, or maybe even lower. The taming multiplier would have to go to 0.5 as well.
  19. I couldn't go back to ASE now, after having the new features like the map and the build system improvements. Those who play on official might see it differently of course.
  20. So you take the FPS hit and don't have the clouds? That's even worse.
  21. I'd consider that an improvement, since the first thing I do is turn them off when I start the game. They're always glitchy and my fps takes a big hit whenever I look at them.
  22. My base extends out from a beach, and I get eggs from dinos that are well over the water part. I did have to enable mating to get any eggs, as they lay an unfertilized egg almost never.
  23. Geez, 200 taps? I'm feeling inadequate with my 4 taps now.
