You realize this was a bug, right? The last update fixed the bug. Now you’re wanting them to put the bug back.

Yep, the mechanics of imprinting are tedious enough lasting days. We got used to the 'bug', it was there for YEARS. There was absolutely no reason to go back on it now except to make everything more tedious. People in pve are already at end of their tether with the other cryo nerfs, this feels very bad.

I hate to be here moaning but we all know people are leaving the game and I hate seeing it happen, and it's all the little minor decisions like this which make pve less fun and easier to walk away from.

Actually it fixed it. It wasn't supposed to change when cryopodded. They just didn't bother to fix it in ASE.

Yeah we know, but we've had it for years and the game is already feeling ultra grindy starting again and with other games being more 'user friendly' with more 'active' things to do, this is just irritating. Same with the cryo nerfs, just frustrating and unnecessary in pve.

The Cryopods were released early due to servers hitting the server tame cap of 5000 and preventing more dinos from being tamed. The nerfs are supposed to be there until the Extinction map is re-released for ASA. Remember, in the OG ARK, Cryopods were not released at all until Extinction was first released!

Yes, I'm aware of why the cryos were brought back early, and I'm aware of why they decided to have these half and half measures. But as they are actually playing out on PVE official is not what they intended and just creates unnecessary friction in the game (in personal gameplay and between players).

  4. I understand the need for and the benefits of the new cryopod nerfs for PVP but for PVE they are just painful and irritating.

We now have small cryo-base spam around every cave, every POI - some tribes are able to release their dinos inside caves (those who built in strategic spots where their cryofridge radius clips into the cave below) but most are not. That means there are 2 tiers of player, those who can easily farm loot drops and artifacts in caves, and those who cannot. It's simply not fair and creates a lot of toxicity on some official PVE servers.

There are very few benefits to the new system in PVE as they are actually playing out and big downsides. It creates needless frustration and a feeling of unfairness. I know this has caused players I know to return to ASE and they won't be the first, it's such a shame.

Please revert cryos to the old system on PVE. Ty.

  5. We know nothing really about the new creature but I'm dreaming it's mainly a PVE thing and it will create an instanced base, like we have in Fallout 76. When the player logs off the base and all it's contents disappear from the world too until they log on again. This would be awesome for performance on PVE servers - yep, I know, totally dreaming but yeah, that's what I'd like :)

In reality it's prob going to be more like the megachelon, eagerly anticipated, everyone tames one, then any benefits are nerfed to the ground after the PVP crowd get hold of it and break pvp....again.

Still looking forward to getting one though.

  6. I wonder what you like about the new look? Not a snarky question, genuinely interested as everyone I have chatted to about it are not happy about it.

Not so much the actual look of them but the fact you can't see clearly through them to make them useful additions to a base to see outside. Another comment I often hear is they also make everyones bases look so 'samey' as they are such a distinctive look.

  7. Although I'm generally a fan of the building changes in ASA, I really, and it's a growing discomfort, don't like the new greenhouse textures. It isn't see-through so we can't create bases where we can see the lovely scenery outside, plus the aesthetics are totally out of keeping with with wood, stone or metal and just look like ugly cheapo plastic. Why do we use crystal to make something that plainly looks like it's made out of oil (petroleum -> plastic).

Please change the greenhouse back to ASE style or make it more glass like in appearance. Tyvm.

  8. Tamed basilos are also dying to world border, and breaching the surface and killing themselves randomly. Collision boxes are also messed up, getting stuck to ur own basilo randomly is pretty tedious. These are all old problems I remember from early days of ASE.

Re-wrote the code from the ground up? My a***.

YOU SHOULDN'T have launched pc if console wasn’t finished or ready. This is absolutely 100% BS!!! And us Console players do not want to play with pc we want cross play with PlayStation that’s it. PC is filled with way more cheaters then we wanna deal with honestly. And your gonna allow cross play with pc Day one are you sick in the fkin head? You gave them a month to play the game develop hacks and cheats that they can use in ASA and ur gonna allow them to play with console day one what a joke dude!!! I’m beyond livid. And I’m an Xbox player also saying this isn’t fair to PlayStation what so ever. they should be launching on the 14th also. It’s not fair for them to be starting late on servers where everyone else has already started on. boosted rates does not justify this at all and what you wanna bring up PlayStation exclusive servers like ur doing with Xbox.? We want cross play but your not giving anyone the option to play together because NO ONE WANTS TO START ON SERVERS THAT ARE ALREADY BEEN PLAYED ON!!! all the good spots will be taken And lord forbid you wanna play PVE with ur cross play friends because everything is gonna be pillared. Your ruining ur game more then you even care to realize. Your mindset is either we will deal with it or run to ur little partners Nitrado to rent servers that we don’t care for. You really enjoy screwing over your players don’t you.

If you read the crunch it says these will be NEW servers. Everyone will start on those at same time. There are no transfers between servers on current PC. Everyone on there will have a brand new char. There are also console only servers.

Hi, the export files are saved to `SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Saved\DinoExports`. Some stats and multipliers were adjusted in ASA, we're working to get Smart Breeding updated so all species will work again soon.

Can't wait :) Such an essential part of my game, just wanted to say thanks for such an awesome app.

  11. If you are talking about official then there's a graphical bug atm that shows far fewer on a server than actually are. Try to join them, they are all full. As for unofficials, the one I play on is packed, but it oddly v rarely shows up in the server lists. Definitely some work needed on the server listings when they have time (I guess atm this is rightly low priority).

  12. They've already said that there will be console only servers, plus there will be no cross play at the beginning between pc / console.

And on top of that when the cross play servers eventually do arrive they will be new to both PC and console - remember there are no transfers at all atm (until scorched) and there will be no transfers between the different modes like you can't transfer between PVE and PVP. So I'm not sure why PC only servers being up during extra life specifically would put anyone off, console players will never play there unless they are opened to them later and they want to.

(and btw Extra Life is a huge external charity, not sure they'd be keen on delaying their well establlshed event for this lol).

  13. Playing. Enjoying it. Tbh it's so good all being on a fresh start with many more fresh starts to come that I would have prob paid the £34 just for that. Definitely worth it imo.

Yes, I was annoyed at times over the way all this has been handled, but you can't stay annoyed with what is just a game at the end of the day forever. Over the last few days as the unofficial server situation and even official servers have improved massively performance and bug wise I can see the final product in sight... and it's all gonna be ok.

It's a thorn in everyone's side that console players aren't with us yet but hopefully that will come soon. I really do feel for them, it must be frustrating beyond words.

I was around in the original EA and this is very similar with the ropey start (crazy bugs and crashes) and I hung in with it then too, maybe I'm just pretty laid back when it comes to these problems and I quite enjoy seeing the progress as things improve.

Great game, cheap at the price, don't buy if you have anger or impatience issues but I can see this running for another rollercoaster 8 years and I'll be along for the ride.

    GG.

  14. I wonder if that's related to the 50/50 bug back from the early days of ASE? Was a running joke that if u lost ur tame it was at 50/50, but it was true. There were so many tames and wild dinos stuck there that there would b piles of eggs on the ground underneath and it was a good spot to get eggs for kibble.

  15. Not sure what you mean. I've changed key bindings like 'J' with no problem but the gamma keybinds don't appear to be working, I have to go into console.

Is it that your keybinds reset when you restart the game? In that case is your gameusersettings.ini set to 'read only'? Or that you can't change them at all?

  16. So, just read this

    https://server.nitrado.net/en-GB/news/ark-survival-ascended-server-hosting-exclusivity-news

We all know Nitrado bought the rights to commercial servers, but we assumed non-commercial little servers would be able to run. But they are not.

You need to apply for a free license and for that you need to have a community of at least 10,000 members. That's to host your own NON-COMMERICAL Ark server, even if it's from your own house - rip all those little friendly unofficials which never charge a bean, ever, for using their servers. No kits, no donations, no whitelisting, no subs, no patreon, etc, etc.

You'd think those large content creators "buy a sub and get access to my servers" could afford to pay the Nitrado fees anyway, but we know why that bar is so high and they are getting it for free - possibly to keep them quiet about all the little guys being pushed out? The I'm alright Jack mentality.

Honestly, makes me sick this is so anti new people getting started with a server, and stifling the Ark community.

Someone please tell me I've read this wrong and people will still be able to set up small clusters on their own systems in their own homes and allow others to join.
