idk if this has been said before but the trailer shows a blue  and a purple ring

i feel like the boss fight in gen 2 will end with the blue ring separating and falling onto the planet and the spaceship with Rockwell drifts into space

this is also hinted at in the rock drawings on the rocks image.png.21ba47588cd8999da98b65392c588bef.pngof a ring alone

Yessiree. One ring is definitely going to be more tame than the other (blue), and the other is most likely going to be the higher risk/reward area of the map with heavier story elements (purple). The idea of the purple ring being corrupted is also a thing which is quite possible, but in my opinion it's most likely where Rockwell's Garden is located. We do however know that Element Corruption will most likely be a present threat on the Genesis-Ship, as during the ending cutscene of Genesis Part I we can see a female Survivor getting Corrupted within their chamber.

This is definitely possible, and there is little evidence to prove/disprove this theory. You do definitely have a point- If the purple ring also landed on this planet (new name idea Illustere) the obviously bad presence on that ring would spread throughout Illustere. But then what about Rockwell? He'll still be a big problem, being able to control the spread from afar, watching our every move. 100% credible, kudos.

And about the painting.... This definitely could represent a ring, or some form of Milky Way galactic smorgasbord or some crap. We don't particularly know at the moment.

And hey, welcome to the community.

    PvP was fun until:

    - Managarmrs
    - meshing
    - aimbot

    spoiled it.

PvP- Toxic in any game. Seriously, if it's a competitive game, it's gonna have a toxic side.

Fun- Fun is up to interpertation.

Managarmrs- Overpowered, and in my opinion shouldn't be able to get transferred to other maps. I feel like creatures/variants should be contained to their maps, with some exceptions such as Aberrant creatures to Val and Deins to Rag and The Island.

    Meshing- Fault of toxic PvPers.

    Aimot- Fault of toxic PvPers.

So it seems that 4 of your 5 points are the fault of the actual playerbase, and not WC.

  3. So... Any idea as to where our friend HLN-A has gone? And what about the "luminous paintings"? Who could have drawn them? It should be obvious why- to document the events we have experienced for future generations on "P-L06". Since nobody thought up a better name, I've claimed it. Bite me. But I digress. And what would we see as a protagonist? Are we going to build a new one up through DLC, or do you think Rockwell will come back again? I actually have a really good theory regarding his whereabouts. (For later!)

What did he say? Also, looking back over the trailer, any paying attention, it looks a lot more like ark. Btw anyone have a guess what the ring is in the cave? It is presumably the ship or the ring in the Ocean biome, but I’m not entirely sure.

I was joking around with him. He literally said "."

The trailer was confirmed to take place on an alien planet, and further solidified in the Discord Server. And the rings in the cave were from the ascension cut scene from Genesis Part I.

This planet is where the Colony Ship lands, and where we'll continue our adventure with Santiago.

Also I think the animated seires will be cannon in the way a movie is cannon to its book, carrying similar elements and end and beginning points, chars,  just sometimes rearranging events for a more cinematic experience. Such as Helena being a little more aggressive, like if the story is focused in Helena, see goes around, studying animals, and almost has no action till the end of the island and the start of scorch. How much fun would that be? Just the first season is Helena talking. I also suspect they will add more depth using conversations.

"Did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?" Dumbledore asked calmly.

It's funny because it's almost as if they skimmed past that part of the book entirely...

"The games and the books should be considered to be separate continuities, even if they do share many familiar elements. So yes, the book is canon, just as the games are. That doesn't mean that they are intended to fit together like two puzzle pieces. [...] The book is a re-imagining of the Five Nights at Freddy's story, and if you go into it with that mindset, I think you will really enjoy it." -Scott Cawthon

Now you're probably wondering why I'm tying FNaF to ARK in the ARK Forums, but I feel like we're being treated to a similar gimmick here, where we have two separate canons that can  potentially be used to draw ties into one another's stories, if that makes any sense. Change it up a bit and you have this:

"The games and the animated series should be considered to be separate continuities, even if they do share many familiar elements. So yes, the animated series is canon, just as the games are. That doesn't mean that they are intended to fit together like two puzzle pieces. [...] The animated series is a re-imagining of the ARK: Survival Evolved story, and if you go into it with that mindset, I think you will really enjoy it." -Wildcard

Something that really catches my attention in this note is simply the fact that it exists - I mean, it's not like this note tells us anything that we didn't already know going into Extinction, so why include it, especially in the Gen 2 chronicles of all places? Maybe the point isn't to tell us something new about Aberration or the ARKs, but to reintroduce Santiago to the story? I mean, Santiago is a major character in Extinction - where the next set of Gen 2 chronicles will be - as well as ARK II, so at least then it would make some sense if they wanted to expand upon his character and story going forward, by, I dunno, putting other notes similar to this one in the other maps?. But still, why include that in the Gen 2 chronicles of all places, unless...

...unless he has some significance in the story of Gen 2? I mean, we see in the ARK II trailer that Santiago likely came from one of those incubation pods that we've only ever seen on the colony ship, and that he's clearly familiar with the GenSim, which we've also only ever seen accessed from the colony ship. Yes, I think that's it - they want to tease Gen 2 and especially ARK II by reintroducing Santiago to the story, both on Aberration and possibly the other maps.

    - I feel like the developers added the note just as a, "Hey, Santiago's gonna be in ARK II, so here's some extras thrown towards the character!" In fact, as a prediction, I bet we'll be getting another note from him on Earth. Probably just an "I escaped the corrupted creatures and picked up a weird signal, so FolLoW iT I mUSt!!1"

    - If Santiago is on the Federation Colony Ship (FCS) it would be safe to say that he'd have some form of lore importance in Genesis Part II. I feel like it's pretty much confirmed at this point, from including him in the Genesis II Chronicles to including him in ARK II.

Also, here is just how I imagine the last 2 Gen 2 chronicles will play out:

Extinction: Rockwell monologues about element, the corruption, the Homo Deus, Helena and her friends, the ARKs, and the wasteland that is Earth; HLN-A has another memory recollection episode and remembers the things that Mei, Santiago, and Diana did for her, as well as the Homo Deus; possibly some more extra Santiago notes related to Gen 2 or ARK II; possibly some hint as to Mei and Diana's fate after Extinction.

Gen 1: Since Gen 1 doesn't have much of a preexisting story, it's likely that the last set of Gen 2 chronicles will consist of Rockwell and HLN-A directly teasing parts of Gen 2's story, like the arrival and the colony ship; possibly some hint as to Mei and Diana's fate after Extinction.

    - Again, most likely another new Santiago note and maybe a note from Diana. I'd exclude Mei from this one, as she ends her notes long before she regrouped with Diana. HLN-A herself would most likely talk about her friends, while Rockwell would obsess over the element that litters the planet.

    - I agree with this one. I would assume Rockwell would be the main star of this one, hinting at what awaits us outside of the simulation, and most likely some info about the inner workings of the Simulation. Maybe HLN-A will allude to the possibility of Mei or Diana being here? "Odd. My sensors are picking up traces of familiar Survivors 'round here. Could it be? No, that's silly. How would Mei or Diana get into the Genesis Simulation anyways?"

  8. And that's a really big thing too, I am not the OG here. While AT123 is the king here, I'm technically the king of the ARK Theories Discord. That's not really what I was aiming for- I feel like I kind of pulled an Embrace Extend Extinguish here... I really don't like to get deep into thinking, but again, this is something that might call for that.

Just giving up the server to AT123 might not even be the best choice here. After all, he already owns this thread- who would want to own another?

But even then. I doubt anybody would want to leave the comfort of the Discord Server. I guess it's just up to what everyone decides.

Why? Have them publicly here so we can all contribute?

You have a point. You really do. But when it boils down to it, what would people (or more specifically I) rather? A large place that gets easily congested/complicated and is open to anyone who wants to be a part of the team with varied amounts of experience and seriousness, OR a smaller, more compact and condensed platform for quick theorizing, places to just chill and get off topic and members who are more serious and dedicated to the purpose?

Your question brings a dilemma to my attention. Was it selfish for me to create a new theories thread, without even consulting anyone else, let alone @ArkTheorist123, the original creator of the thread?

    This definitely makes me think.

  10. For all of those whom it may concern:

No, we have not stopped making theories :). We have moved to a different platform, BUT, we will always be here to post the big discoveries. To a new age of theories! Thank you, ARK Forums.

i'm really torn about this, one the one hand wildcard announced atlas the last time they went to the game awards, so ark 2 is something i considered and i really want this to be a thing, but on the other hand it just seems way too early, doesn't it ?

Well, this place has slightly died out due to lack of new info.

    https://discord.gg/uSqR8Pvv

This is the gang's discord, basically a place to get a bit more off-topic and do theory tidbits. The forum seems to be home to the bigger, more mainstream theories ^^

Just another quick idea as to what the announcement on the 10th might be, what if it's not anything affecting the main game, but wildcard releasing more ark related media ? While they said they're going to go beyond anything they ever did before, i kinda doubt it would be something like an ark movie ( let's be honest, a lot of people want it, but that's way too big ).

But what if it's something smaller, like a short ark series or a cinematic ? Similar to these little clips they did at the beginning of the launch trailers for aberration and extinction, but maybe for the actual lore. Not to mention that Helena and Rockwell both have proper voice actors now.
Now i wonder what moments from Arks story would be interesting as a cinematic, personally i would really like to see Diana and her crew blowing up aberrations overseer...

To put it bluntly, ARK 2.

  13. This can't be the ending. They've set up too much of a story. Not to mention they are THE survival game. THE. We also have Rockwell's army, his new world, the corruption, The Arrival, etc. You don't set all that up for us to not see any of it- most of which would only be seen if Rockwell's plan succeeded. (I actually hope it does.)

  14. Also I thought up an ending prediction for Genesis Part II where we attempt to spare Rockwell, and it leads into ARK: II. Of course, it's fanmade and has several holes in it, but here we go:

    (Intense Rockwell bossfight w(°o°)w)

    R: STOP! ENOUGH!

    H-A: Wait, Survivor!

R: It seems I might have underestimated you two... Why is it that you want to kill me anyways? It matters not wether I'm dead or alive- My master plan... My Arrival... Shall soon be complete. It is irreversible!

H-A: S-says who? I have access to not only the Genesis Simulation's inner workings, but this Ship's. With you out of the picture, it'll be a slice of cake to undo your work!

R: But what truly is my work? What is my Arrival? You are making a fatal mistake, you two... I may spare you if you surrender now.

H-A: That's a lie! And we don't care what demented plans you have for the world! Y-you're a monster! (Verge of tears) W-we can't let you live!

-Survivor is violently grabbed by 3 tentacles one at a time, heavily swaying the screen-

    H-A: No!!

R: -Softly chuckles to self- You should have killed me when you had the chance, Survivor- but humans are stupid, easily distracted and foolishly compassionate...

    H-A: You b***ard!

R: And as for you- Worthless robot...

H-A: -Angrily shakes side to side- You wouldn't da- (Spins out if control/view as a red X is displayed on her screen. Beeping)

R: -Excessive laughter...- Now behold! The canvas of my new world! -Rockwell innards grow over hexglass, cracking it- Once we land, the seeds of my new life shall consume the planet, the solar system, the stars and the cosmos! My godhood shall finally be complete! And you... Survivor... I'll show you what it feels like to be knocked down- to be killed over and over again in a never ending HELL for all who are rebellious to my glory... You brought this fate upon yourself, Survivor- and now it is time for you to FACE IT! -Tentacles tighten- MY ARRIVAL IS SOON!! MAY THE VERY FABRIC OF THIS PITIFUL UNIVERSE CRIPPLE UNDER THE MAJESTY OF IT'S NEW GOD!! SIR EDMUND ROCKWELL! -Looks us in eye as tentacles further tighten. Read further, it's not what you think you ruffian- The others are waiting for you Survivor... Don't keep them waiting...

-The tentacles let go except for one. It yanks us back in a slow motion limbo as memories flash before our eyes. (Sad music) The Island. Scorched Earth. Abberation. Extinction. Genesis. Helena. HLN-A. The Reseed Protocol. Rockwell. Everything. We are released at high speed sending us sailing through a hallway in the Colony Ship, where we hit a wall (Quite hard actually) Everything goes blurry. Dizzy. We are quickly met with Helena, Diana and Mei Yin. HLN-A is nowhere to be found.-

    M: No! It's too late.

    HW: Survivor. Wake up Survivor!

D We have to do something!

M: We can't! The machine is landing!

D : What do we do?

HW: Nothing... We have lost this fight... For now.

-All characters look out of a nearby window as a sad orchestra bellows. Mei's right. The machine is landing.-

    -Rockwell chuckles/Credit roll-

  15. Also I doubt that TGA is going to be ARK: 2. Why release info on ARK II if you haven't even released this finale of ARK I? Feels like it would spoil the ending, which would not be so great... I'm thinking info on Genesis Part II OR a new Spin off.

Well, it would seem they decided they could actually afford to hire well known voice actors and thought that they would enhance the game. Ultimately, I don't think it makes much of a difference, and HLN-A had already spoken so much that I had gotten used to her voice as well. I really wouldn't have minded HLN-A's voice actor staying the same.

Although, I've got to say, Rockwell's new voice in the teaser was awfully great.

It seems reasonable to assume that the planet we see from there is relevant. In the same solar system, or perhaps we were going to tour a series of different planets in different areas, and the five biomes were to simulate the expected conditions of five different planets. We would check out each area one at a time until we find one suitable for us.

In this case, we would be able to assume that the ocean planet that we would check was perhaps actually a moon orbiting another planet, or the planet we see over us is actually a moon of the ocean world, or maybe even it's a pluto situation where both celestial bodies orbit eachother.

It could also, I suppose, just be the planet that we are currently over that we're seeing. It could also just be a moon that they put in the simulation to influence tides.

I don't think we have any details at all about it, and it looks significantly different than the one we saw in the teasers so far, but that could also just be angling, so who knows.

I've always said that I thought the giant ring in the Ocean biome was a representation of the biome's master controller. It's certainly not part of the ship, we can see that now. But it was also obviously not supposed to be the colony ship itself, and I don't recall it ever being 'confirmed' like that.

I mean, it's not even one piece, how could it be the ship?

Somebody said that the Ragnorok map makers confirmed it as, "oh yeah, it's the Colony Ship..." I think it was Fes or somebody... If it wasn't Fes, sorry lol- but someone DEFINITELY said it.

  17. A very odd thing that I've noticed, is that the "confirmed" Colony Ship from Genesis Part I, doesn't match the Colony Ship from the Genesis Part II trailer. I have a picture of the "new" Colony Ship, but not the other one:

ARK: Survival Evolved - ARK: Genesis Part 2 Teaser Trailer. Extra Life Livestream Reveals, & TLC Pass 3! - Steam News

Now, a thing that you should notice right off of the bat is that, yes, they are both circular, but no, they are not the same shape, and the Colony Ship in the Simulation lacks the additional bits to it.

Perhaps the old Colony Ship was just:

    1. A way to throw us off

    2. A completely different structure, such as the Ship's destination?

    3. Yet ANOTHER inconsistency...

    What do you guys think?
