Just going to add - cryosickness isnt just torpor. They take increased damage while the debuff is active. Some dinos are faster than others for torpor (theri vs rex) its 5 mins every time per tame thrown out while you as the player have the cryosick debuff (countdown timer)

TEK turret has many options including max level options. When we made our reaper trap (to kill queen to force a respawn) we had then set to only attack levels 120 or lower so we didnt even have to spyglass or worry about them. Was nice

Can you get Tek turrets yet? Been reading your reaper trap venrures and you will benefit from a tek turret big time. Deploy turret, get queen near and go to turret options, put queen on whitelist then the turrets will kill anything except queens. No more mega / purlovia problems

It has 334 mutations on the counter - it probably has maybe 5 or 10 actual mutations rest are from inbreeding (yay funky mutation counter)

O.O The whip!! I dont pick stuff up. I whip it, whip it real good. You move dinos, move babies, land fliers, over cap while moving stuff (drop all metal from anky body, whip up and throw in forge) or moving between vaults? Take all, popcorn (left trigger) it to ground, move close to vault and whip up. For bosses, go in the middle and whip like a mad man they will all spread out. Remember: dinos go the way you face while whipping, use to your advantage. Farming metal on anky without flier? Over cap, whip it and itll walk still. Do this between nodes then pick.up overcapped anky with wyvern or whatever after. Whips. The bees' knees.

Whip. Whip always. Why dont you have a whip? You should always have a whip. The most useful tool in ARK, hands down! Last Tek cave I was yelling at people who didnt have a whip hahah.. Nice bridge man.

All great tips. One thing I will add is: depending on your server type is what you should build for tames. Personally I always build a trap or cage around but thats just old official pve habits. Singleplayer? Nothing. Private PvE/PvP server? Usually nothing. Official pve?? Always something. The reason? The key element DarkHolis mentioned that I dont think enough people take advantage / know.. STASIS! If your tame area is stasis'd you can always 100% leave the tame. Only reason something would attack would be someone destasising (flying near on o.pve) Knock it out, put narcs in and leave. Come back just to pump narcs ((be very careful this is when you will get jumped by raptors : hence the always cage thing for me)) Stasis is your friend. Stasis is your enemy. Its stasis, the most under utilized mechanic in ark.

I was luckily playing on The Center when biomes released. Was a few months until TC got its (giant) map addon making the redwoods and landbridge etc

New biomes are Redwoods. He is speaking of way before your time before the Island map change. Redwoods are new (in relative)

Make sure you have lots of meat ready in fridges! You dont need to sit and stare at the babies either. If I remember correct 1 stack of meat = 5 minutes time for babies on official settings. Use this to your advantage and have some (small) base things to do while raising babies. Sitting idle staring at the babies is a huuuuge rookie move!

Thats half the fun of ARK. The game was most balanced when it was just The Island. When they added The Center (thus adding 150 wilds vs 120 prior) it turned into a quantity over quality tame process. Thats around the time they introduced breeding , too. Half the game is searching for those tames, taming Y dino instead, doing Z cave just because you were near it etc.

Really like the renovations man Shame I couldn't come see it before. It's been a real good run everyone. Over 3 years posting here, various timelines and servers and I must say, this life thread gave me the juice I needed to continue ARKing. That time has come to an end. Circumstances change in real life and there's no feasible time for my game time. A long 'I told you so' could be in order Sir Aush! XD I would try to build a stationary trap teleport. You can throw a teleport down in rad, and put one in a safe non-rad zone to get pregnant @AngrySaltire has the screenshots. You teleport said reaper to fertile and safely preg there ((((WARNING)))) Do NOT derender the queen when in fertile

As I logged in Sunday Saltire was already on around base. I started up the grinder first thing and got to 80 real fast to make our industrial forge. Tried a few test builds at base, trying for a build where we can popcorn the ingots out but every which way i tried got a few stuck in it. That just wont do! Out of frustration demolished the wrong ceiling and... bam. Forge destroyed! Luckily Saltire had an extra in the cloud from a previous server so we bent our rules a bit and grabbed it to replace. No fliers is doing great! Hopped over between loot cave and the metal cave a few times. The game tempts me i swear. Ive been on this cluster for 1.5 years and havent to this day found a nice Argy saddle bp, first drop from the loot cave - a really nice asc argy saddle bp lol. That will go into the coffers at The Center. Finished up the breeding barn I built - i dont know --how-- but somehow the building got off square...weirdest thing! Took some mats over to my real life buddies place and made some blueprints he has aquired here on Val - he lives just behind the loot cave so he hits it a few times a day. Got some pick / hatchets crafted and some ghillie ( @AngrySaltire they are in my thyla) Had to abrutly log off - a few friends all the way from Haida Gwaii were in town!

First day of Transfers open on Valgeuro for our cluster! Started off on Center, gathered a few of our tames Saltire didnt get and got over there. Had to do a run around on a Thyla. Was gone for a good couple hours and found a decent metal spot, set up an outpost that I later moved to a small cave outpost for the Lava / Loot cave. Did a bunch of breeding and went off to find the Metal cave / Underwater access on my Roo, literally other side of the map. Made it there eventually and a server friend is set up there. We allied and I he opened his forge / transmitter to the public. I went to town. Had an anky on me and spent a good few hours farming there between popping back to base to farm / breed. Threw some loot cave runs inbetween it all and by the end of the night managed to farm up enough for a Grinder, bought a transmitter from my other sever for 2x the price thanks to an alpha rex & raptor then kept farming to work up to a forge. Got a gorgeous white mutation for our thyla line, with the white belly makes an all white with black stripes one with all the good stats.

Forgot to record Sunday's Story! Reaper day! Started off around base sorting stuff for reapers when I thought... why spend time killing them?! Made up a Tek gen / Tek turrets and went down to look for a spot.to put them. I have a spot I like, not too far but right beside a Plant Z. Set up the mini turret tower and tested it. Works great! I can sit there tanking the reaper in the plant z, healing AND providing extra charged light. Wonderful! Went back to get the crew. Saltire, Fudge and I went down on our drakes (original plan was spinos) worked great! I happened to put my tower right in the middle of 3 spawns..great! We spent a LONG time killing reapers.. over 4 hours. We had a system down, Saltire and I would go seperate paths and would bring areaper back every 15 seconds.. do the math! Roughly 1 reaper every 30 seconds..for 4 hours! Needless to say our drakes leveled like crazy. I set the turrets to only target 120 or lower so we could easily grab a hlvl if it showed up. About an hour in we had a 125.. killed it and decided for a higher level. Over 3 hours of killing later we find a 130.. eff it! Take it back and get us all.preggo

Another ARK filled day! The Center first. Organized a bunch of stuff to go to Ab, bred some Stegos, traded some flak kits to a tribe for a 5.5k hp stego baby and then transferred over to Aberration. Went on a Trench run with a server mate, we cleared it top to bottom and came back with over 40 eggs. Only 4 of which were 150+ one being 170. Took a short break then I hatched the 170 egg (Im looking for really good HP or Weight for a specific drake) and called my real life buddy to come hatch the 165 egg I had from the run. Most of the evening was spent hatching, helping my friend get his imprints up for Rockwell / Reaper hunting. After he had a drake, spino imprinted we went down to the Red/Purple zone to kill some Reapers so a high level can spawn. We got into Rad and onto our first Queen when "HELP!" My buddy was flung off the cliff into the Element river. He managed to get his spino on a ledge so he was safe. I delt with the Queen then flew down there with my tek suit,cryo'd his spino and we went back up. Made it down more to a Plant Z where we healed his spino up. Went further in to find more. The second queen we encountered, maybe 5 seconds into it 'Your tribemate Fudge has been killed' His tek gloves broke and he died to radiation lol. I saved his loot, spino and got it all back to base. We decided to get him some Tek blueprints so this doesnt happen again..over to Extinction! I had the mats for a Titan. We ran through the cave, spawned the Titan and were on our way. I decided to use my Tek suit this time...big mistake. I got dismounted by the flock and my tek chest held me in the air...to be shocked by lightning, twice. We killed the titan, didnt get much loot but my friend was happy with a Tek chest bp, logged off after throwing 300 element's worth of dust into the Cloud for Aberration. Our Rockwell plans were snuffed out today due to a server mate's real life plans so I figure Saltire and I will hunt for a high level queen.

Was a good productive day. Started on The Center, spent a good while farming mats and sorting all my blueprints after combining all our Rag back onto Center. We have almost 2 bookshelves for each type! (Weapons, Saddles, Armour, Misc) Decided I needed to make some backup shotguns, some more chainsaws and some Flak kits for Rockwell. Gathered all the blueprints into the Tek Rep and hopped servers to do a bit of farming. Logged onto Ab, chainsaw in hand went out killing crabs. Did a huge run and came home with 14k organic poly. Made some extra cement past with the chitin and then went down to biolume for a huge metal run. Gathered everything into the cloud, transferred back to TC with Saltire waiting. He's 118 now so I figured he could craft the stuff with the added bonus. Made a whack load of stuff including some overpowered Stego bp (212 arm came out 312 arm) Between all this I tamed a few Stegos. 2x 145f and a 150 male. Puttered around base and then logged for the night

Forgot to record my play from the other night! Started off on Ab quickly to check a few tames then went off to have fun on Val. First I touched up the base a bit, organized some dinos and made a guard allo pack with some of the extras. I took off on my Roo to find some higher level Roos. Did a few rounds and nothing good. Went out on my Rex and killed a few hundred undedireables and others. After quite an extensive search I found a 145 Female! I had a 135 F already but knocked it out anyways. I was on my Roo and after getting the tame KO'd i got jumped by multiple raptor packs. Fended them off then quickly threw spikes around the roo. Went back to base to grab food and wham! 145 male infront my gates. Knocked it out quickly (love this ascendant crossbow) then threw more spikes around that one. Not taking any chances and without fliers i cant scout the area as well. They both tamed up without incident. My 135 has the highest weight but the others have good hp, stam and melee. Bred them together right away and kept a female with decent stats just for another baby machine. Logged off for the night while the baby was raising.

Got a lot of time to play but didnt really do much productive. Started out on Aberration - sorted a few raises and pre-incubated a few drake eggs (one 175 for Saltire incase he wants to raise a disposable drake for Rockwell this weekend).and hatched another 170 to see if I can get higher health on birth. Literal clone of the first 170 egg even though they were gotten days apart! Imprinted it up, jumped servers to get my drake saddle for a few guys on the server then went over to Val. Plugged around base, made a few minor cosmetic changes to our base and made more fridges for storage. Pretty much logged off shortly after. 5000th post! Wow. Time flies.
