Spent a while sorting through dinos, picked out two megatherium, one thylocole, and a deinonychus. Got some other gear, including a few gas masks. Went hunting for the swamp cave. It took me a minute wandering randomly through that end of the redwoods on my deinon, but eventually I got in there and unpodded my three cavers. They seemed to be doing well at first, but I didn't like it for some reason and switched to riding one of the megatherium... oh that's right I remember thinking deinon is over weight so I threw everything in my inv and jumped over. Shortly after that my deinon got way out front and died. Then it went down hill, massive lag and rubber banding and I couldn't tell what was going on. Got so bad I tried to back track out to surface. Then the server crashed right near the entrance. Last thing I was doing was transfering my equipment to a mounts inventory, but I doubt that stuck, been checking battle metrics ever since, but last time my server crashed that hard it was down for a week, been over 2h. Rip deinon, and probably all the rest of it.

Once again my server came back online after being dead/mostly dead for hours/days/over a week, the performance slowly got better, more and more people flocked to it, crash BANG hamster fire. I was in the middle of the swamp cave ffs. Rip cave gear/dinos. Endless cycle of people going back to play on their servers when they come back, but the servers can't handle like 15/30 or more players connecting. Seriously wc figure this out, what do you need to do? Perhaps lower the server player cap from 70 to 15?

Where is your character saved when you upload only? Is there an extra server that saves stuff that isn't on any server? Because if so perhaps that server could be given some extra hard disk space, and any time someone transfers just write some extra data to that which documents what when where etc. so when someones like DILO my stuff isn't on any server a admin can just query the extra file and be like oh yes it looks like you had full tek, three poded what evers and your character was level 105 with such and such engrams, here ya go...

I've been trying for hours just to log back into my server - which appears in the list, then disappears, and has real bad lag, and when it does let you in it boots you immediately, and alll that jazz... yea you know the drill, I guess we are calling that behavior a ghosted server? Anyways I've been desperate to get back in because I had babies out, and now some of them are dead, though hopefully I got a few podded, idk if it will stick because clearly the server doesn't know so how am I to know? And now I've gotta go sleep soon. Gg hamster. gg.

It is precisely the roll back that is causing me to loose dinos and structures. Ever since this bull poop began (what now, like half a year ago?) the few times I've tried raising dinos, about 30% of them have starved to death due to the server rolling back my feeding them. I even almost lost an adult dino from the same. And I have lost a bunch of structures that I was going and refreshing the decay timer on every few days and even sometimes just sitting there for 20min at at time trying to make sure the bull poop server registered that I was there. After a certain amount of lunacy, it is okay to get mad. If this goes on for another half a year, I won't be here. Poo, I might not even make it 2 months.

I have been following this thread for a while now, and a while back I think a guy name of jat or jad posted something here. I think that is one of the forum admins, and also a guy that works for wild card. But I aint gonna go digging. But your point is well taken that they mock us with their silence.

I've been spending more and more time on other games, and the rest of my tribe out right quit. Just saying... insert another argument about whether ark is dying or thriving... but like anything it can only take so much.

It seemed to get a little better for a few weeks or so and is starting to get worse. Why would it suddenly get worse? Another flipping event.

Yes they are tracking analytics. Jat who works for wild card recently posted this: "A lot of the servers were already upgraded, we're just in the process of hitting ones that haven't been so far. As for recent server performance/stalls/crashing, we've been doing some monitoring over the past week and have made some improvements, and today's patch that's going out right now (310.5) has some additional data-gathering tools enabled for us to identify more of stalls & crashes, so hopefully we'll be able to get some good data and get some more fixes in."

Extinction 459 is still acting very strange. It does this weird limbo for hours or days at a time where if you are allowed to even play it doesn't seem to register what you are doing, yet decay timers go up. Perhaps it's just rolling back so often that it seems like it's not registering? It boots everyone then one, two, maybe five people log in, but the lag is super bad, then it crashes some more. At this point all I'm trying to do is keep my stuff from decaying and the few dinos I have there fed. But since it rolls back me refreshing decay timers, or doesn't even register the action to begin with, cause I'm in a weird limbo state... I been loosing some of my outer pillars. Didn't really care about those, but it's frustrating to lose stuff when I'm here trying to keep my stuff and refreshing timers every other day sometimes, and after refreshing the decay timers I'm checking battle metrics to see if the player count remains high for a while, when it looks like the server is crapping out that is when I'll come back in a few days and do the refresh again. I'd rather have the server shut down completely than this limbo bs.

Curious thing about 459 is it went out a day ago and ever since then battle metrics has been mostly successfully querying it, but it wont show up in my list to join. As mentioned earlier in this thread I attempted finding it by putting the session filter to officials and typing 459 in the search box, but it still doesn't show. Also looking at the player count graph there seem to be brief periods where one person is able to log in, so it's not quite dead, but so dead that I can't log in?

Was hoping this would get better after 4x ended. Logged in today and didn't get anything done before my server pooped out. Waited 3 hours and filled out an outage report, it's still down.

I'm not sure that would be a favor to us. I mean like I unpoded several babies earlier today on official island 47 pve, and the sever pooped out well before most of them are juv. So for the past 4 hours I've been not playing ark, just trying to get back in to pod them back up. So 5 hours to do 10 minutes of raising, and I can't go to bed now? It will be better for me to wait till this madness ends.

Waited for 2 hours to get onto my main server. Gave up cause it's just dead. Played on a secondary server for an hour. Checked my main 10 more times, played on a third server for a few min, got booted. Yep it's still Easter madness.

Is having a place for us to cry beneficial or detrimental? One could argue it's better than nothing, because it allows the player base to vent some steam, and not build up pressure. One could also argue that if wc never engages in this area it will foster a feeling like they just don't care. Idk.

Unplayable = so many people playing and cant seem to stop playing that you can't play it. Apparently most people are just dealing with it.
