  1. Turkeys take reduced damage from dinos. It might work but will probably take a while, don't sprint fly into it try to save stamina for attacking.
  2. Keep mejoberries in the last slot of your hotbar, I won't say why because spoilers but it will be useful for you as a new player.
  3. Welcome to Ark, prepare to die (a lot). I would recommend doing an explorer note run to level up quickly as dino level doesn't scale up with player level, lucky by Nature have got a good video of one on youtube.
  4. Like the water vaporators on tattooine in star wars?
  5. Maybe through gathering condensation somehow? Can't wait to see players licking the windows of the saddle.
  6. Or maybe it's the magmasaur saddle, that would explain the fans on the side.
  7. I think that the dodorex, turkeys and 'accidental' overspawns of raptors and wyverns are actually wildcards first attempt and whittling down the number of duped meks and dinos. And the event skins, emotes and colours are a shiny distraction to keep us occupied while they work on how to stop the duping and meshing.
  8. Played some intense inventory management on scorched earth and discovered 2 strange new structures, they are set into rock and are black with red lines set into them and at night they emit a strange but comforting light.
  9. I have been quite good with myself, I did 'ghost' last week to claim 3 zomdodos that spawned in the mesh. I would play online but sometimes I can only manage a couple of hours a week or month with real life commitments, I know decay timers mean I would never make any progress, and joining a tribe would be hard with my casual game play, and no mic.
  10. Cyropodded up some of my scorched colour tames and took them to the island to sit in a fridge until the zoo is built. On my return to scorched, to gather up some stragglers, I whooshed over to the wyvern scar and picked up a 130 lightning egg, left the 2 lvl 40 fire eggs, and on my way back to base the game crashed and I found myself staring at the dashboard. Reloaded and respawned in a hut by green ob and the ob was empty, log says I downloaded a griffin, so I take an argy over to my pillar base and swap out for a wyvern. I go looking for my Griffin and maybe my equipment, log doesn't say I died so not hopeful about finding a bodybag, didn't find either but I did find the 130 egg in the nest I took it from. This has happened before and I know I have been arked again. Last time I lost my favourite coloured and (at the time) only high level fire wyvern, I shrugged that loss off and carried on as best I could. This time however I am seriously contemplating spawning in and force taming another griffin to replace my loss, would spawn one at the same level mine was pre-tame, I don't want to cheat but I liked my griffin and I only have a couple. My main concern is that if I cheat one in and tame it it could be easier to cheat again. I would just go to rag and tame another one but time is more constrained now so I guess I will just have to mull it over and decided by tomorrow, think I may get an hour on in the afternoon.
  11. My week off for Halloween has ended and as I am back at work now my play time has been greatly reduced. I have dino wiped extinction and scorched and whoosed around on a griffin to spawn in as many event colours as I can, I can try to snag some of them on my limited taming excursions. I still need to wipe Valguero, I stayed away from there because of the overspawns, and I might wipe rag again and hope for a higher lvl event griffin.
  12. I want to copy elements of his pagoda build when I build my zoo on Valguero. I want to build it on a flatspot so I can have a foundation floor with aircons on for hatching the eggs that will fall down through the open floors. With argies and/or owls on the roof and other smaller dinos maybe on the other floors all parked around the holes.
  13. If you build it with ceilings on pillars I would recommend Aaron longstaff on youtube, just to show how to stop the pillars poking up through the floor. And his builds are pretty amazing.
  14. I have seen people asking for some of these abilities to be added to the araneo in a tlc. It's nice to think that the devs may have seen those suggestions and gone one step further with the idea.
  15. Been busying myself with building projects. Made a start on putting a roof on the river base but may need to extend some foundations, haven't worked with the triangle pieces that much and didn't anticipate the issue with angles for the sloped roofs. I got some vaults made and placed in my warehouse which is slowly becoming a tower. Made the dino gates and created a dino pen at the river base, which was much needed as I saw a 145 paracer which was red with an all over smattering of purple and black. I named the new paracer Cruor as it looks like a bruised blood clot, glad I parked a quetz on the top of the volcano loaded with taming supplies and my only platform saddle. Dino wiped the island to get more skeletal dinos to craft the last skins and emotes, gonna miss the 5 wild gacha clause though.
  16. I feel your pain, when I made my little hatchery on Valguero I put a generator in the corner of the air con room. I wired it up to my cable system in case I need it but so far I haven't had to switch it on. Power to air cons, fridges (food and cryo) and chem bench is supplied by the 4 turbines on the roof.
  17. You don't 'need' to have a generator, windmills on Valguero don't turn off at night like they do on the island. But it is nice to have an emergency backup in case anything happens to the turbines.
  18. Found the second ddrex on the western edge by the shallow inlet/sandbar, killed him and got another dermis and claimed 28 zomdodos. Walked the dodos back to red ob for potential fast travel and then went back and tamed a level 20 diplo, she has a blue body and orange underbelly and red spikes, she serves no real purpose but I think she looks pretty. Walked her to the red ob to sit with the dodos and that's it for the morning, time to find food irl.
  19. Started with the mass transport of zomdodos up the mountain to blue ob, being able to carry 3 at a time with the argent is a blessing. Looks like I have the option to upload them so I could 'fast travel' them to another obelisk, even though I was thinking of gathering them all at the new kitchen base. As I was flying off to continue gathering the artifacts and tributes dodorex spawns again, after a couple of game days searching I find him on the southern coast and gain another gaggle of undead dodos. No dermis this time as he fell in a shallow river with piranhas around. I lead the dodos to the coast and on route they killed a couple of pegos, a few dilos and trodons, 2 raptors lvl 10 and 50 and a lvl 55 sarco. Now it's dodorex night again and off I jolly well go. But before I leave I want to share my findings, it seems if you use an argy to kill dodorex you need to stay towards the base of his tail and above or level with his back. If you get too close to his head or drop below the midway point between his spine and belly he will agro. Also don't land for stam while the music is playing as he will give chase, land for stam outside of the music range.
  20. They are closer in size to carnotaurs, so they fit through the gates.
  21. I have decided to name the battle argy 'Nigh', as in 'the end is nigh'. Thank you @Rosati for your suggestion, I will use it in the future for a blue and green something. I have been saving all manor of level and colour tames since early 2018 for my big breeding zoo project to be implemented after I finish the storyline.
  22. You may certainly suggest it and I may use it. I was contemplating using a Terrahawks reference because of the colours but none of the names are great. I am veering towards Dodgem, named after Deputy Sheriff Dodgem from Fireball XL5 and the 5 dodorexes it has killed without dying.
  23. Got on early today and continued work on the new soon to be farming and light storage volcano base. I got some stone walls around the edges of the foundations on the land side and wooden railings around the overhanging river side, which should make for a nice balcony when this is finished. Made a start on the irrigation system, layed a pipe out through the railings and ran it down to the river. Now that I have a water source I have plumbed in a beer barrel and industrial cooker, just need to craft the greenhouse pieces and any large crop plots I need (got plenty of small plots from beacon drops). Started playing my favourite ark minigame 'intense inventory management' and worked diligently into the night when dodorex spawned in so of I go. Found the fluffy bugger hiding in the north by the blue ob, I was wondering just how many times I needed to kick him with the argy in order to kill him. I lost count around 135 (ish) as he kept fidgeting. He finally died and I got a second dermis, I was also able to claim the zomdodos without them attacking me this time. On the 2 occasions where I have been able to claim the zomdodos the dodorex has died right next to them, on the other occasions he has wandered off (once into a lake and once off a cliff) and died nowhere near the zomdodos. I don't know if this is connected but it seems like quite a big coincidence. Next up will be a mass zomdodo migration and more crafting to finish the new farm base, and I should really aim to complete the green ob warehouse and progress to the next level of the intense inventory management game.
  24. Woke up in the hatchery on the island and ran out to the ob to get my stuff, the tames all seemed a little interested in me hurtling past them butt naked (except the dimetrodon who didn't seem to notice me rematerialise next to them). I got dressed at the ob and downloaded my argy and other miscellaneous items. A brief spell of putting things away later and I am good to go, I took off on my trusty battle argy (who still needs a name, it's silver grey with light blue wingtips) I left my recent travel buddy argy at home to rest. I farmed a load of orange drops and put the foods in the fridges at the hatchery, still got 2 to fill and the event has been extended so all is on track. Dodorex spawned again and this time I found him on a southern beach, I pulled him away from the waters edge (he was paddling in the shallows, I feel a bit bad for interrupting his downtime) and slowly and carefully proceeded to murderise him by kicking him in his fluffy cloaca. This time I was lucky/careful enough to get the dermis, think when I put it on display I will name him Johnny Depp. Tried to claim the zomdodos but they remained hostile to my advances and didn't want to come into the woods with me, so much for my plan to gather an army of them. I also put a cliff platform at 50/50 by the base of the volcano and laid out foundations on it stretching on to the land. I plan to build a greenhouse on it irrigated by the river with a wall and towers protecting it from the land side. This will be the main garden/kitchen base with storage for the artifacts and tributes needed for the boss fights.
  25. Anywhere on the island, I have mostly been at my base near the green ob when the message comes up but have found dodorex in the snowy north and the south coast.
