This would confirm my assumption. Personal ownership without tribe holds better.

Recently my server crashed short after transfer arrival. I was expecting a char loss but it was still there, sadly the items I had with me were gone. Until now I have not founded a tribe, and I will not because I think this maybe prevents what happened to you with losing all ownership.

Wildcard should do something to close the backup hole. Something like a char storage server which keeps the char until it's saved in the next backup of the target server.

There is this backup hole in which your char can get lost. Servers make every 30 mins a backup. If you transfer to another server which crashes before the next backup then your char is gone. So better don't do transfers while times the servers crashes moreoften.

OK, Rag382 beats Val525. The admin or the script which restores Val525 is really fast, downtime never longer than half an hour. Any other server worse than Rag382?

I wonder if Val-525 is the most cursed server? We have between 3 and 5 crashes per day. Do you have more?

Val525 is crashing up to 5 times per day too. For luck it's always up again after 30 mins. Let's face it: In times of Corona Wildcard will have more and more problems to keep all 1000 official servers up. If no miracle happens we have to expect one server after the other go offline (ill workers, sceleton crew, financial trouble, lockdown, whatever) and not come back. Maybe you have luck and your server will die as one of the last, maybe you are unlucky and will lose all your stuff next week, because your server will no longer be administrated. I hope I'm wrong but this could be last days of our bases on official. Enjoy as long as you can.

I just returned to play this time on The-Island. I had the hope that this old map isn't that crowded so that I have smoother gameplay. But it was even much worse than on Valguero, where I had only sometimes such long server freezes. Up to 1 minute no server response, and this up to 10 times per hour. So I choosed the least populated The-Island server. It's a bit better there but still minute-long server freezes.
