  1. That's a 2 core CPU... You should be able to run one map for about 5 or 6 people. Maps use anywhere from 3GB when idle, up to about 8GB or more when people are connected. It will get laggy if the map starts using a lot of memory - remember that the operating system will consume some memory and CPU.

  4. EPIC owns both Fortnite and Unreal, so they need to show that Unreal 5 is a capable engine.

  7. Are you running any mods? If you can upload the save file, I'll try loading it to see if I can spot any problems.
  8. I doubt you'll get anything else back if Recuva failed. You need to start keeping regular backups. I use 7zip to backup the save directory once a day - running as a scheduled task so I can't forget.

  10. I've seen that happen when the character's inventory was full before uploading. The only way I know to get your character back is to restore from a backup. Alternatively, start a new character and use admin commands to give back your levels and ascentions.
  11. So the challenge is to create a third-party tool that allows dinos and structures to be transferred from ASE to ASA. I don't want to leave my dinos behind !
  12. ASA went from "free" to a $40 bundle with Ark 2. Now it's $60 by itself. Wildcard originally said they'd use mod.io, but now they'll use OverWolf. As much as I love the game, I really can't see myself getting value out of owning three variations of the same thing. I'm questioning my desire to move on to ASA and Ark 2, just to be perpetually misled by a company that doesn't understand community engagement, deadlines, or finances. I suspect WildCard have over-promised and over-stretched their ability to deliver. With Snail Games share price taking a dive, I'm beginning to wonder if WC and SG will still exist in three months time.

  16. Hi @MirageUK I'm not sure, but I might have found an issue in the Players JSON file where the playerid value is sometimes reported to be the same as the tribe id value. [{"playerid":133012468,"steam":"redacted","name":"Human","tribeid":133012468, In all cases, it's the first entry in the file. However, not all maps have this problem. Crystal Isles, Gen 1, Gen2 have the problem. The other maps that I run don't have the problem.
  17. There needs to be an overlap, to give people time to move on. There also needs to be a transfer option for dinos and characters. It's not impossible - they're just a bunch of numbers. Maybe some enterprising modder could write something to copy dino attributes from Ark 1 into Ark2.

  19. If you can zip up that directory and copy it somewhere, I'll take a look. Are you running any mods?
  20. DOS batch files, some python scripts, 7-zip, and Mirage's Ark Savefile Viewer.
  21. Force join the tribe and pick up the inlet pipe... That might destroy the rest of the pipe network. Other thing to try is the DestroyUnconnectedWaterPipes=true setting on the server command line. This should destroy uinconnected pipes after two days of not being visited by a tribe member. I tried some time ago to use admin kill on pipes and it just didn't work 😞
