  1. You clearly don't understand what I am saying, as you resort to immature name calling and repeating the same false statements I just informed you were not correct.

    I will repeat:

    Integrating it into the main game does not force you to see ANY tek. It can keep the EXACT gameplay experience you have today.

    I don't understand why you keep bringing up about redoing something. My point was there that wildcard SAID integrating it would wipe your progress - it sounds like you are saying "I'm okay with that, I've dealt with it for 2 years" - However I was arguing that their statement is false. It's possible for them to integrate it without a wipe.

    But hey if you're ok with loss, that's not my problem anymore. But it's unnecessary to force a wipe.

    Integrating it leaves it EXACTLY as you are use to using it today. You configure the server to run it as P+, and instead of the problems and broken updates, it just has less bugs in the future.

    You just proved my point. You do not have the experience to understand what this thread is asking and just made a very uninformed response.

    Integrating it into the main game is HOW they fix it. Integrating it DOES NOT remove P+. It DOES NOT force you to have TEK back.

    If they integrate it back to the main game, you can have everything you know about P+ today just like it is, but less bugs, with it actually working more correctly (To the same standards as main ARK).

    Keeping P+ "as is and fixing it" is a TEMPORARY solution, only for it to break AGAIN the next update. 

    If you don't understand what I'm saying, then you are not experienced enough on a technical level to argue this and need to stop.

    But whatever at this point. I'm done with P+ as there's no hopes of it ever getting this work done and it's limited in gameplay content and WC has said they are "done" with new content for it, so no point in it anymore for me.

    Who in the world uses the ally system for wars? Never heard of it..

    The point of the ally system is to

    1) Private Chat

    2) Allowing building near. 

    3) Blue name so can see friends/don't trigger parasaurs

    4) Allow riding passenger on Rock Drakes

    speaking as a developer, that is harder to implement.

    Instead, you could make structures have a cooldown, that once hit by projectile, they are immune to further projectiles for X seconds, rate limiting the DPS a structure can take.

    - Mek shield debuff set to not be given on shield deactivation
    - Outside of Mek shield debuff reduced to 30 seconds (from 60)
    - Snow Owl freeze buff set to not dismount riders
    - Players and Dino’s are immune to the snow owl freeze for 10 seconds after being frozen
    - Reduced Tek Tapejara Saddle projectile damage by 30%
    - Reduced Tek Tapejara Saddle projectile damage to structures by 75%
    - Dropped Plant Species Z Fruit weight to 10

    The 10s cooldown on snow owl is only thing i see that touches PvE but its a non issue for me, as your owl needs time to regain stam anyways....

    Only way I can see that being an 'impact' (i don't even want to say issue) is if you had 2 owls alternating healing. but big woop, a few 10s breaks in between healing cycles.

    My ideas for improving server performance & make room:

    - Limit rafts to 2 per Tribe, add 1 to the limit per new tribe member.

    - Auto decay (remove) more structures: campfires, torches, tree sap taps, spikes, dino doors, leash (these can't even be demolished after timer).

    - Lower taming cap per tribe to 300. We don't need more with the new kibble & cryo system. Most people use it but some tribes leave all out (including raft spam).

    - Punish spawn blocking. Like pillar+ceiling. You still haven't found a good idea to prevent pillaring. Maybe a certain structure with a big range that has a limit per tribe that allows them to keep their farming areas safe. Spikes should still be allowed to protect others tames, but they will decay even if near.

    - Lower player limit depending on map. Not many people play in big tribes (especially on PvE). 70 Players will fit on a map like Ragnarok but not on The Island.

    Simply deleting servers and adding new ones isn't gonna fix the problem.

     

    speaking as a senior developer with some game development experience, these kind of changes aren't necessary to help improve lag.

    The issue is how the game processes the data, doing it all at once causes noticeable lag spikes.

    The proper solution is to break server processing up to be more incremental. You have 1000 dinos. currently: its do all 1k at same time, pausing everything until its done.

    ideal: process 10, do other things, process 10, do other things, repeat.

    If WC updated saving even initially to start, that would reduce lag immensely. 

    I fixed so much of Minecrafts performance problems and incremental saving was a huge improvement. I made many other things in Minecraft also incremental. 

    Things CAN be fixed on an aged game, you just have to commit to doing it.

  8. Saturday I helped a good portion of the server get busy with a Reaper Queen. Found a 125 but hey my 130 is currently my best Reaper, so i'll take it!

    So sunday, out leveling farming more queens and man we got swarmed.

    I had 2 queens on me (25-40~) and Tunic had one on her which she brought to join the party lol. 

  9. FYI you do not need to set pin codes on your things, that actually decreases your security as someone can guess the pin code.

    The only reason to ever set a pin code is if you WANT to allow someone outside your tribe access. If you only want for you and your husband, don't pin anything. Everything is default locked, don't unlock it.

  10. @lilpandaWhat about Primitive Plus? (specifically PVE Xbox)? We have Ragnarok and The Center, so hoping we will get it.... but Xbox NA-PVE-PrimitivePlus Cross Ark 4 is also missing Scorched Earth.

     

    Kinda sucks I paid for an expansion I can't even play in my cluster, so it gives me mixed feelings on if we will get the map.

    Would be nice to get SE added to the cluster though with Valg

  11. This thread is designed for people with a technical background to respond to. I see numerous people responding with comments that do not make sense / show they do not understand what the options mean.

    Merging into the base game does not mean removal of what we have. As I responded above, it's actually the best option we have.

    I am not too fussed about killing high levels, drakes seems to respawn fast enough and the eggs spawn so frequently too.

    when you press xbox button, hit the double square (select) button for capture options "record 2 minutes from now", then itll be on your profile.

    Getting the link off your profile is trickier, you go to it in web browser, open dev tools, select the video box with the element picker and then copy the URL from the node. 

    They don't make it easy (But I'm a developer so I can always find it :P)

    I used to raid the nests solo just on a drake but that too was too dangerous too. Too easy to get caught by a pack of angry drakes or make a mistake and end up falling into the river. This way I can nick eggs in the trench on drake back and lead all aggroed drakes to my squad who shred any and all wild drakes. I can nick multiple eggs in a fraction of the time that it would take to use a drake to grab an egg and leave render distance.

    Pretty much around 1 minute between eggs. I always kill any drake that's close to the nest, always position my drake ready to jump out before I knick it, ensuring a safe escape.

    The only thing that's a risk is forgetting to turn off camo to let stam regen :/

    Also has benefit that if any high level drakes are nearby, you aren't killing them (when I went down on Reaper last night killed so many 190's :(). I then pick out the low level ones solo and get rid of them.

    Got on last night and continued with my preparations for entering the drake trench. I uncryoed all 17 of my megalosaurus's and leveled and saddled them. Did the same with my spino. Hoped onto my spino and had 12 megas on follow and recryoed 5 megas to reduce what I was dragging down, and started the descent through the blue, purple and then into the red zone. Its always a bit nerve wracking doing this, theres always a chance a megalo does something stupid and runs of a cliff. Kept the squad on passive at all times to reduce the likelihood of this happening, unless I was confident of where I was and I needed to deal with powerful aggressive dino. I ran into basilisks twice, but neither of them knew what hit them when I whistled neutral. 

    Got to the end of the red zone without a hitch and started down the cavern to the trench entrance. Made it to the trenches and found my way down to my desired trench, the main one behind the elemental waterfall.  Deployed my rock drake so I could start raiding the nests and so i had a way out of here. The spino was used for ease of access and to act as a passive anchor for the megalosaurus. Started raiding the nests while I waited for the cryosickness to wear off so I could deploy the final 5 megalosaurus. Annoyingly the megas do prefer their secondary attack but they eventually  do switch to their primary attack and they are in such numbers that this doesnt really matter. It wasn't to bad a haul either as I wasnt really planning on grabbing too many eggs, 3 150, 2 160 and 1 170 eggs. Stayed down until I had to change out of my tek armour and into my hazard suit. 

    Now I have the squad down in the trench, all I need to do when I want a few drake eggs is to grab a drake and glide all the way down from the fertile zone to the trench. I can now farm eggs without the fear of becoming swamped by angry drakes. 

    How come you didn't just take the spino down alone and uncryo at bottom? Would of been a lot easier than dealing with all those on follow.

     

    though since you have a drake, you can raid the nest solo with just a drake. Grab an egg and glide away out of render distance, it will deaggro them all. Rinse and repeat.

  15. semi-lost my reaper last night. Was in drake pit and trying to climb back up to top (that one area a spino can reach), messed up the jump and went hurling towards the end of that nook (anyone been down there you know that emptyish area past the yellow egg area)

    Well at the end of that dead end is a giant dino swallowing hole, that my reaper conveniently perfectly landed in as I missed the jump above and to the left towards those upper nest.

    It's stuck in a fall animation, can't do anything. Friend was able to go get his drake and back it up just enough for me to board and evacuate with the good drake eggs/suits at least.

    Now I await the slow support process hoping a GM responds before the reaper dies of starvation :(
