  1. We don't have a technical way to expedite the ascension process at the moment AFAIK. A GM could theoretically do a manual run of the bosses with the person present but we are investigating more automated ways of doing so.
  2. This just happened to be the event that put a spotlight on those issues. It's unfortunate and sad but because of how many were affected but on the bright side, it resulted in the improvement in several back-end processes. We'll be looking to improve this process for everyone that loses a character. It's an issue that's taken seriously.
  3. Thanks, I'll remove the confirmation needed.
  4. Better confirmation on existing bugs in Primitive + will help prioritize and make sure these bugs are getting addressed. Please let me know if there's anything I'm missing! Gameplay Bugs Loot Drops - Some are reporting loot is not dropping while some seem unaffected [Confirmation Needed] Canteen Crafting - Unable to craft the canteen Kibble Consumption - Some are reporting the new kibble isn't working as intended [Confirmation Needed] Kibble Crafting - Cauldron is unable to craft the new kibble Coal Harvesting - Some are reporting the inability to harvest coal Forge Crafting - Unable to craft Primitive+ specific resources in the forge Mailbox - The mailbox isn't working on specific platforms (console) Aberration Hazard Suit - Invalid crafting materials Explorer Notes - Some are reporting the inability to see explorer notes [Confirmation Needed] Bee Hives - Some are reporting the inability to harvest beeswax and problems with beehive functionality. Aberration Saddles - Some aberration saddles appear to be missing S+ Green House Glass - Unable to be crafted in crafting tables Harpoon / Tanq Spear Bolt - Unable to craft Lumber Glass Ceiling - Placement issues on XBOX Quality of Life Bugs Snap Points - Revision on the snap points for Primitive+ structures Collision Boxes - Revision on collision for Primitive+ structures Damage Balance (Weapons, Plant X) - To accommodate for a primitive experience Lumber Texture/Mesh Changes - Structure changes mesh/textures after leaving render distance
  5. Thanks for weighing in everyone. I'll start to compile and summarize this feedback to make sure I've captured everyone's opinions.
  6. We'll elaborate on the details a bit more in the future crunch Easter is exciting!
  7. Good question, I guess in theory you could preserve the total conversion - release it to the workshop - then prim plus servers could still run. But it wouldn't receive updates. So those servers would be stuck on that mode forever.
  8. Before we engage in this conversation, please keep it constructive. It's also important to remember that there is no timeline or guarantee to the options proposed here. Part of my job is to make sure the development and management side is armed with enough info from the community when they go to make these decisions. I want to be able to take the conversation to the table when that happens. Some of the things proposed will be unrealistic or not even possible, and that's OK. The point is to start the conversation. It's important to understand a few things about Primitive+ before we start. It's a total conversion. Total conversion overwrites core game files to make it easier for modders that plan on making lots of changes to the core game. It edits those files directly instead of creating copies of them like traditional mods. When the main game is updated, it overwrites those total conversion changes with the main game updates. This means that total conversions like Primitive+ are hard to maintain because it's essentially creating the mod over with every update. Those who play may notice that's why some bugs always reoccur. So with that said I'll kick it off with some ideas that we've tossed around internally: Convert it to a Mod Positives: Easier maintenance internally, Faster updates, no recurring bugs, faster loading Negatives: Wipe would most likely be needed, potential functionality loss Seek Free (It's what XBOX uses for loading) Positives: Faster loading Negatives: Susceptible to issues with total conversions (listed above) Integrate it into the main game Positives: It's no longer a separate DLC and enhances the existing primitive content Negatives: It loses the specific mode Let the community maintain it Positives: The community can deem where it should go Negatives: I'm sure there will be a lot of logistics to figure out the right way to get this done As I've stated, our last option is to remove content. If you feel we should do so give me your thoughts. Do you have some other options? Weigh in!
  9. I don't look down on people man. Regardless of all the politics that go into enforcement, let's look at the positives. HOD is unbanned, he brought an important topic to light, and it has become a priority both internally and externally. It's a win-win. I can't get into the details of why he banned and what happened. That's not even my area. Sometimes it's good to look at the positives of a situation.
  10. Providing a fair, fun, and safe environment for everyone is something we take very seriously here at Wildcard. Building an enforcement team was the first step to making sure that people can enjoy ARK without fear of cheating. Since the introduction of the enforcement team, we've noticed a considerable improvement in the overall quality of life of those playing on our official servers. In severe situations, like someone meshing or duping or spreading information related to such, our first instinct is to try and take action with the intention of preserving the integrity of our official server network. When someone is banned as a result of our Code of Conduct, there is an appeal process that allows for a fair review of the situation. There are always two sides to every story and we want to remain impartial and hear both. Any issue that violates our Code of Conduct is subject to a fair appeal process. When things land in the gray area, our first instinct is to do whatever is in our power to prevent abuse. Upon further review of the situation involving H.O.D Gaming, we felt that it was not deserving of a permanent ban. Videos showing exploit techniques are admittedly a gray area when it comes to enforcement, which is just one of the reasons why the appeal process exists for bans. Several changes each patch are aimed at fixing exploits but the methods that are used are continually evolving; as such, we are always trying to improve our procedures when it comes to situations that affect the player-base. We use these situations to take a look at our internal process and identify areas where we can do better or provide more clarification. There are established methods for escalating exploits to the development team that exist to prevent the spread of information to the general public. The more widely known an exploit is, the more likely it is to be exploited. In these instances you should file your report on the SurviveTheARK website. You can find the link to report abuse or bugs under the support header. We want to make sure that everyone can enjoy their experience on our official network and will continue to take exploit matters seriously. As always, we value community feedback and encourage you to share it with us. Thanks for your continued support and passion for the game! Team Wildcard View full article
