  1. Ahoy Survivors, Jeremy and Jesse here! You might have noticed the announcement today of a new MMO game called ATLAS developed by a sister team of Studio Wildcard, named Grapeshot Games. Jesse and Jeremy together are now leading the development of ATLAS at Grapeshot, while continuing to creatively supervise the direction of ARK. Grapeshot itself is comprised of some original ARK team members as well as many new hires and operates as a separate dedicated dev team. The Wildcard team meanwhile has grown developing ARK and Extinction over the past year, led by Lead Programmer Chris Willoughby and Senior Producer Colin Tennery, and have been doing an excellent job bringing fresh ideas and QoL improvements to the game. As we work together with Chris, Colin, and the rest of the team, Wildcard will continue to support and expand ARK over the years to come bringing new features, fixes, and expansions into the game. Grapeshot meanwhile will grow in a direction oriented towards the operation of the persistent MMO service that ATLAS is, while both games will share technology and infrastructure improvements to complement each other. We’d like to thank everybody for their long-standing support, love of ARK, and enthusiasm for survival games, and we look forward to the adventures ahead! Keep on surviving, Jeremy and Jesse Co-Creative Directors of ARK and Co-Founders of Studio Wildcard

  3. Hey all, I'm really sorry about all the Windows Store problems! If the Insider Build does not fix it for you, Microsoft requests that you leave feedback / errors about the store in the Feedback Hub App. Unfortunately many of these launch, update, and connection issues seem to be related to things outside of our control. Jesse
  4. Can you please let me know exactly what build of Windows you are running under System Information > Version? What are the steps you took in detail? Thanks!
  5. POTENTIAL FIX! If you are still experiencing issues with Win10 version closing on launch, we have some evidence that the problem is fixed in Windows Insider Builds (source: I had the problem > Microsoft mentioned it might be fixed in Insider > I installed Windows Insider Slow Ring > Problem went away). If any of you are brave enough to sign up for Windows Insider and give the latest builds a try, please let us know if the problem is resolved for you. If you continue to have the problem, let us know that, too. Thanks!
  6. Sorry, nothing yet. Hopefully we see a fix from Microsoft in February, as it seems to be a problem with Windows Store / accounts / whoknowswhat. They have actually told us that the workarounds in these various threads are the only known ways to deal with it in the meantime.
  7. I am not aware of that particular case causing the problem. Are you following these steps exactly? On your Windows 10 PC… 1. Launch and sign into the Microsoft Store using your Xbox Live Gold account 2. Download and install ARK 3. Launch the Xbox App and sign-in (or create as needed) an Xbox Live Silver account 4. Launch ARK 5. When the Xbox Account picker comes up select the Silver account On your Xbox One… 1. Login to your Gold account 2. Download and install ARK 3. Launch ARK using Gold account as identity
  8. Hey everyone, Microsoft has let us know that this is a bug on their end, and it affects a lot of games (I personally just had it with Sea of Thieves and used the install-another-game trick as a work-around). There is a fix coming, but we have no ETA on it. We'll let you know when we hear something! Jesse
  9. We weren't aware this was causing data loss. Have you followed the steps in this thread to submit the error logs when the game won't start? That might be very helpful. Jesse
  10. Hey all! Thanks in part to your submissions, Microsoft was able to reproduce the problem internally and has more info to analyze. We don't know yet what the issue is, but they are working on it. Currently we do not think there is anything Wildcard can do to fix the problem, as it seems like a licensing thing, so hang in there. We'll keep you updated as things progress! Jesse
  11. For anyone who is having the close-on-launch issue, can you please do the following and send the results to [email protected] so we can work with Microsoft on the issue: Attempt to launch the Microsoft Store version of ARK: Survival Evolved. Observe that the game closes automatically at the splash screen. Open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd.exe) Type eventvwr Navigate to Windows Logs > System Right-click on any Errors you see from the time you launched the game, and choose Save Selected Events... Type cd %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Temp Type licensingdiag Type wscollect Gather all of the files generated in the directory in step 7 by the commends in steps 8 and 9, and put them in a .RAR file (or renamed .ZIP file). Thanks, this will hopefully help us solve this problem more quickly! Jesse
  12. Is your game actually installed on C:\ or is it on a secondary drive?
  13. I have a lot of those errors, too - seems unrelated. Do you see anything that mentions "StudioWildcard" or ARK? Something like Unable to start a DCOM Server: StudioWildcard.4558480580BB9_1.4.768.10_x64__1w2mm55455e38!AppARKSurvivalEvolved as Unavailable/Unavailable. The error: "317" Happened while starting this command: "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\StudioWildcard.4558480580BB9_1.4.768.10_x64__1w2mm55455e38\ShooterGame\Binaries\UWP64\ShooterGame.exe" -ServerName:AppARKSurvivalEvolved.AppX8dqae3jbqbp71qzw0jv2man0p45gr0c6.mca
  14. Can you look in your System Event log to see what error was being thrown when it refused to launch?
