Here's a question I had for a really long time now:
Were the ARKs launched and THEN built once in orbit, or were they built on Earth and then sent in space ?
The first one makes more sense, but I have doubts because of the tek transmissions in the Sanctuary...

They were built on earth. U can see the hole one ARK left behind on south side of ext map when it was launched.

Yes, I know for the hole, my question is: were the pieces of land modified on Earth or in orbit ?

Of course they come from Earth, but the pillars, obelisks, atmosphere ect... It'd be easier to add them once the big chunk of soil is in orbit.

  2. Here's a question I had for a really long time now:

The first one makes more sense, but I have doubts because of the tek transmissions in the Sanctuary...

  3. So I was asking myself "Where the hell are we on Earth in Extinction". And I believe I found out.

I think ARK Extinction's Sanctuary is Denver.

I have multiple proofs: first of all, Diana said that Arat Prime was located on the other side of Earth, and the only place where I think it could be is near Mount Ararat. So that means Extinction happens in the US (Probably). And Denver is located right on the bottom of the Rockies, just like the Sanctuary.

The big mountain behind the city could be where the glacier and the giant Element Peak are. I also think the only part of the city left is the downtown, because the Sanctuary is too small compared to the actual Denver. A good part of it was probably wiped out. That would explain why there's a building in the Underground Forest.

What do you all think ? I'm open to any idea or criticism.

Maybe if I'm completely right or completely wrong you should say something though

Well, I think you're right in your first theory.

The Arrival is coming. Rockwell doesn't want to get stomped on and destroyed when it happens, so he wants to power up as much as he can. He's decided that the best way to increase his power is to take over the GenSim and force it to new extremes, and then take over (by some new form of corruption or something like that) the humans that are in the GenSim, turning them into Fractals

Possibility: Rockwell might have been doing this for a while already, and could possibly have a serious force in the real world currently

I'm still not sure what ''The Arrival'' is, even after the end, but I don't think this is what you imagine. At least I don't see it as a treath to either Rockwell or the Survivors. For the fractals thing, it's probably just a new form of Elemental Corruption that can go in virtual environments, not a whole new thing. I hope I doesn't spoil too much...

Rockwell hijacked the GenSim to train survivors to become part of his army by turning them into fractals. He's keeping the simulation going to make sure that everyone comes out as strong as possible so they can serve Rockwell as best as possible.

There's no real spoil in this box, but if you don't want to know the answer to your question, you shouldn't open it ;)

    Spoiler

I think you're right. But I don't own the game yet, so I didn't see H-LNA's notes. All I know is that the end was very... meaningfull about that.

Something that bothers me though... On one of the glitches, HLN-A said that after completing the GenSim, we might be allowed to go 'outside' into the real world, and asked me to take her with us when we do go.
The thing is, we've already been to, and can go to, Extinction, or any of the other Arks whenever we want, but HLN-A is saying she's never been to the real world before... And HLN-A has notes in the Arks and Extinction too, so she's canonically been there before.
The implications here are pretty obvious... If HLN-A was serious about that, then it would mean that nothing we've done so far was in the 'real' world, and from HLN-A's other quotes from the glitches, it would imply that the real earth is in a much more sorry state than Extinction was.
This kinda hinges on HLN-A, who has a tendency to get sarcastic occasionally, being serious about that though, so maybe it's nothing

Remember this theory that says H-LNA's memory is erased every month or so ? I think that's a good proof.

Don't tell me that Fractal gets here and Rockwell tries to fight him off with us... That'd be something...

A bit strange, but the fact that he must be keeping the simulation running for some reason interests me. Why would he do that if he was just here to spite us? There must be something more.

Me too, me too... But for the first time, I didn't pre-order the Season Pass, because I knew it would be glitched, delayed, and of course just too big for me to download. I'm gonna buy it in summer, so anyway the delay doesn't change things much for me. But I'm still hyped to see videos on Youtube xD

    The One Who Waits.

Also, @ArkTheorist123, remember this Livingstone guy theory you had ? What are your thoughts on it now ? Could he be the one who created the GenSim ? Could he awaits us in the simulation ? Is he corrupted by Element because he was too selfish ? So many questions...

Now that I think of it, the name of the Genesis chronicles skins, "Corrupted avatar", could mean that the skin is the avatar we will be playing as in the simulation, but with some errors that make it appear broken and holographic.

Image result for ark corrupted avatar

    Or maybe...

Ok, so Rockwell is an Overseer, right ? Maybe the entire Genesis simulation IS the system ARK. Think about it. A place where the Homo deus would interact with each other, while their Overseer body is auto-protecting the ARK... Because y'know, there must be a sort of Internet to maintain the ARKs together. A really high-tech Internet...

If this is true -which I hope is the case-, then Rockwell would have access to this system. And if he can get in, he can corrupt it... Perhaps the goal of Genesis is to kill Rockwell from the inside, since we can't kill him from the outside due to him reviving when he's in liquid Element.

So this skin might be a human, or a Homo deus -who is technically human- corrupted ! Well at least it makes sense to me. Let me know what you think of this, I feel like I'm on something there... Unless you can prove me it's impossible xD

    The Origin of the Arks?

So I was telling my husband (who’s never played ark) about how I’m not really sure if its aliens or what that puts you on the arks. I showed him what Rockwell Overseer looks like since he looks pretty alien XD. He has an interesting theory:

“In ark the Rockwell overseer looks like roots and it made me think what if earth became self aware and had remembered everything that humans created. If the earth could will itself to more any part of itself and knew how to build by watching humans. If the earth could build on a grand scale and move materials from one part of the world to another and build the arks and brought humans to the ark and implanted a gem from a larger gem from its center giving earth a direct link to humans and letting them download information from the earth’s millions of years of watching humans creations be completed.”

I'm late, but yeah, your husband obviously never played ARK.

That's a good theorie on the philosophal side, but for the facts, just read the explorer's notes. He should become story writter though, I would buy what he write x)

Just read this thread entirely, and you'll probably understand what the story (or at least a part of it) actually is. So if you're still here, keep being curious and don't listen to those who says that it's a default: ARK's story, even if it's not what you said, is truly beautifull, and it deserve more attention :D

  12. I just found that on the ARK wiki, it's pretty cool !

Ok, it's not part of the official story, but imagine if all of them were actually prototypes of the ones we know ? We could see Proto-ARKs that use these, instead of the classic one. It would be cool. Or even operational ARKs...

Now I want a modded map that use them. And I want this map to become official, since I'm on console. xD

But I'm almost sure you guys have already saw them and that I'm late...

Maybe one day Ark will have multiplayer, but until then, I'll be-
Actually, no. It's never happening. Not until there's subnautica pvp and coop touhou, and even if that happens we still will not have multiplayer Ark.
Trust me on this: Multiplayer will NEVER happen.

I trust you. WildCard would gain nothing by doing that, it'll simply be useless.

We'll never see things like pvp in a game like ARK. In more, people would hate the game for multiple reasons like mesh, overpowered creatures, raid offline, cheat and bugs, toxic players, misunderstanding due to different languages, abusive kids, crashs, FPS problems, things being unbalanced, crossbow that can't recharge, and I know there would be a lot more problems than just that...

PvP is obviously the worst idea ever :)

I'm pretty sure that just means that the one player used it a lot to commit violence against the creatures.

I know they said they were doing crazy new stuff in Genesis, but multiplayer in Ark? Seriously? There's no way they're going to do something as absurd as adding multiplayer features to the dlc. Is there even one bit of evidence of multiplayer being in Genesis? Probably not. Because there won't be, it's crazy.

Actually, it would be pretty fun. But we can always dream, like for Subnautica... x'D

  15. Guys, that Broken Moon theorie is AMAZING. Y'all are genius :D

I know I only post useless comments, but I just can't understand how you come up with so many good ideas...

Now that I think about it, the ''Arrival'' could really mean this. I just don't know how I didn't see it sooner, being a fan of space. But if the ARKs are locking themselves because of the Moon's crash, it actually means than breaking the system on Aberration was a really really REALLY bad idea... Cause if that's true, it means if we waited a little more, the Element would have been destroyed by the crash, and then, after some thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of years, the ARKs would have been able to fall safety. While there... The life we made appear will be pulverised. :/

So did we do a big mistake ?? Pretty embarrassing... Even if we can fix it or something, I wonder how. ''Fixing'' the actual Moon must be a little hard, even with the advanced Homo deus technology. It's not just a rock, it's a big rock. Maybe we're gonna use Arat Prime as a Gravitationnal Laser to re-place the Moon's part together, fixing it's orbit. Or maybe not.

Anyway, I really enjoy reading what you post guys, please keep doing that :)

  16. There's a freakin' lunar biome... God, I didn't expect that. With space whales and low gavity and space and all that stuff... That's too much for me. HYPE OVERLOAD. No seriously, I'm so so SO happy, this biome's gonna be AMAZING ! This DLC will definitely be better than Extinction, and by far, imo. On the other hand, I hope they have a good explanation for this biome, because... yeah that's strange. I just hope they won't just say ''Oh it's a simulation and here's why it's so incredible''. It would piss me off x)

    GUYS I JUST REALIZED!!! -

So I was looking back at those mysterious transmissions that Ê€2Š(¥ËÌY has been putting out, when I realized just how [LOG_RECEIVE] speaks throughout them. With Genesis chronicles just having been released, I now realize that there's only one character that would speak like that - HLN-A!!!

    [LOG_RECEIVE] isn't just something to do with HLN-A or it's creation - [LOG_RECEIVE] IS HLN-A!!!

It all makes sense - those weird messages [LOG_RECEIVE] has been making were her observations of survivors and other things within the Genesis simulation. HLN-A is in the simulation, tagging along with survivors like us so she can make observations of us and the environment (the mysterious transmissions - this is they they exist in the first place!), observations which she then relays to [LOG_TRANSMIT] (Helena). This makes sense since Helena has said that the simulation is "out of her reach", so she would need to make HLN-A in order to get analyses of the simulation (we've seen in the trailer that HLN-A is capable of entering the simulation). After the findings are relayed, Helena has HLN-A record them in those terminal entries. What for, I'm not sure, maybe it has something to do with what HLN-A has displayed in the chronicles, that she's not entirely educated on survivors or just surviving in general? So she makes the terminal entries as a sort of reference? Or maybe it's part of Helena's endgame, which we're still not sure what it is? I don't know. I'm just glad I figured this out.

That's pure genius... It all makes sense now ! Of course, why would Helena send the H-LNA for nothing ?

Oh, and here are the transmissions for the Plasma Canon thing

    [LOG_TRANSMIT] Requesting status report.

[LOG_RECEIVE] Sporadic outbreaks of violence. Trending toward "not-so-sporadic."

    [LOG_TRANSMIT] Unfortunate, but expected.

[LOG_TRANSMIT] Using validation code 5d83c790-c238-40fb-9dc1-2d093f55a845, make your next terminal entry.

    [LOG_RECEIVE] Terminal Entry MM-04

[LOG_RECEIVE] Survivors gravitate toward any technology they're offered.

[LOG_RECEIVE] Doubly so when that tech helps keep them alive.

[LOG_RECEIVE] And triply so when that tech lets them dominate those without it. Classic arms-race thinking.

Hope it helps a little. I didn't understand a single word of this, but it seems to be really powerfull. I already want it xD

You got this mixed up, and it changes the entire premise of the conversation on the pages afterwards. While LOG_TRANSMIT is indeed Helena, LOG_RECEIVE is not a person but an AI system, look at how the conversation proceeds. She starts an uplink to Arat Prime, she logs in and gets herself authorised with the command elevation, the AI runs through it's startup procedure with all the power core checks, and then Helena starts looking around in the system. *Helena* is the one that mentions the AI being a glorified patient monitor and proceeds to "teach it new tricks", note the way Helena speaks. She updates the AI's personality as seen in later messages when it responds to her more eloquently. Helena is not being changed, what she did here was begin the process to upgrade the Glorified Patient Monitor into an AI capable of creating the simulations that we're going to be playing through in Genesis.

You can see with the later updates, Helena found a genetic sample and has the AI integrate it, it complains about personality traits messing with it's neural core.

    ""Specimen Simulation Mode: Cooperative

    Specimen Maintenance Protocol: Updated

    Host System Directive: Updated

    Resolution Schema: Updated

    AP Secure Connection

    Change Authorization 724EA9458ED40FBF Verified

    Ecological Conditions: Predictive

    Specimen Guardian Subsystem""

This is a breakdown of the simulation itself being created, the creatures they've spawned are cooperative, the directives of the simulations have been updated, the plan for what the simulation is suppose to train us for has been set, the environment is predictive to simulate what we might face in the 2nd coming DLC and the Guardian subsystem are the giant bosses we have to defeat.

Later again the AI is inside the simulation but doing much better than the 'patient specimens' it used to monitor trying to survive the simulation. It's reporting back to Helena, testing the simulation before we get there, it's talking to her like a person.. is it possible this whole thing was Helena creating the mini-HLNA that will guide us through Genesis?

Big Brain xD! No seriously, what you're saying is true, it could really be the creation of the HLNA... Or maybe it's us ?? I mean, when you look at the trailer, it's clear than she created the character than we play in Genesis (part 1 at least). This thing is speaking about a specimen, but a bot isn't a specimen. A specimen, if I'm right, is a life-form. WE ARE a life-form. Hmmm... I can't stop thinking about that... What are we ?? In the game of course xD. We are some Homo Sapiens re-created with Homo Deus DNA, yes, but... Is our mind true ? Our memories ?? Or are we really ''programmed'' to do something that the system WANT us to do... So many questions. And I have the feeling that every answers are in Arat Prime... Well anyway I can't wait to see the other transmissions. There's so many new thing to learn !

By slowing down the footage at 0:42 in the trailer you can see that this strange device we've been seeing for the past week and a half is located in some kind of (untextured) open room filled with diagonal pillars and some white light. Given that the device is also shown at the title card at the end of the trailer, it's clear this device is going to play some major role in Genesis. HLN-A herself is, obviously, a fragment of Helena Walker, and if I had to guess, I'd say that the "fragmented" part was her "emotional" one, or rather, the parts that wouldn't exactly be necessary for the tasks of a Homo Deus. The rest of Helena, it seems, is going off to contact other survivors and tell them the same things she told us.

As for story, here's what I've pieced together: Helena has brought us to the weird device and given us HLN-A, telling us that we must go through a series of tests. With HLN-A at our side, we visit a variety of different survival simulations. It seems each region will be a different mission, and each mission will involve us surviving until we can defeat a boss or something like that. After that, we are taken to the next region via the device. At the very end of the trailer, you can see some tek structure at the top and bottom of the cave passage, suggesting we may also encounter rare tek structures. Speaking of tek and element, according to https://www.pcgamer.com/ark-genesis-season-pass-everything-we-know/ : "There's also a small shoulder pet nicknamed Tiny. It's adorable until it gets its hands on some Element, one of Ark's resources, which makes it completely hulk out and turn into a vicious, rampaging multi-limbed fangbeast. Seems like just the kind of pet you'd like in your arsenal." Element is the keyword here, as it suggests these Genesis simulation locations have not been purged of element for some reason. We also know it's "bad" element since the thing the Tiny eats not glows purple at 0:54 in the trailer, but the Tiny transforms it into a beast once eaten, similar to what presumably happened with the titans on Extinction. Another interesting thing to think about is that Arat Prime is opposite of Extinction, Extinction is under the 3 ARKs Helena has influenced, and Helena says that the Genesis map/maps is/are "beyond my reach". In other words, the evidence suggests to me that these simulations may be located within Arat Prime, a place that, due to it's location, Helena may not have been able to access and monitor directly, hence a reason she made HLN-A. The simulations being in Arat Prime would explain why the simulations and device exist AT ALL, as they may have been used in the past as prototype ARKs. It could also explain why we saw little bits of tek a the end of the trailer.

As for the point of all this testing, it seems that Helena is training us for something, something she refers to in the trailer as "The arrival". I think it's pretty likely that what's "arriving" is Rockwell and the evils of the crashed Aberration ARK, which could be re-intoxicating the planet. If this theory about "The arrival" is true - and it does seem to be - then that would confirm that Genesis is a sequel to Extinction and not a prequel to it as some have suggested. But maybe, as one of the devs on the stream said, Genesis could begin in a way that doesn't pick up right where Extinction left off, but at a point where the influence of the crashed Aberration has begun to negatively effect the planet, weeks/months after Extinction's end. To recap, it seems that Helena is sending us and HLN-A to a series of survival simulations within Arat Prime in order to train us to fight Rockwell and Aberration. Part one could be the training, and part two could be the actual fight against Aberration.

We also have yet to meet this "new character" that Helena was talking to in the Communication Records, maybe he/she will play a part in Genesis's story?

Well, whatever it's, it makes me HYPE like never before ;). But I was thinking the same things than you before you said it: Helena try to train us, this DLC is at Arat Prime, it happens after the Extinction's events, there's always corruption etc... And I LOVE the HLN-A !! Anyway, we'll know more on the ARK's story in december (I hope xD) !! Keep going what you do, it's amazing !
