Dont even own a pc let alone one that could handle Ark. I enjoy playing games on my xbox and have a good Ark community built up there. My phone, tablet, and xbox cover every use I can think of. I understand that a PC games better and has more options but I have 0 interest in it.

Consoles dont have mods but we can use ini on rented and pc hosted servers. I honestly just want to be able to level speed like a normal dino, i dont really care about the nerfed speed or stamina. If I want to have a speed stamina quetz on my unofficial pve server that shouldnt be too much to ask.

No. Theres no On/Off switch for the meteors. They released a client side update to turn it off on PC untill they fixed it and turned it back on with another client side update. So just like every client side update on console it has to go through certification before they can give it to us.

Because every dino you had would end up dead. Haven't you noticed how dino tails and limbs clip through the ground? Instant death.

They dont control the conquest servers. Snail Games, their parent company, manages those servers separately so I would assume snail will have to push those live.

They dont control time, its never going to be perfect for everyone and Microsoft and WildCard both have offices in the PST zone. It isnt like you are waiting any longer than anyone else, its the exact same moment in time, your clock just shows a different number. Plenty of us here in NA will be at work or school when it goes live. Maybe you will have a chance to start your download before you leave for the day

Thats a true statement but mostly irrelevant. Mods allow players to change a game on their own to suite their tastes. People do this because they understand what the game is and know they have the option to change it . Instead of getting mad at the devs for developing the game how they want they do the work on their own and share it. If you want to completely change what the game has been and always will be feel free to use a mod or make your own mod. Your use of a mod isnt going to change the development of the core game. Thats basically the whole point of mods, to provide content you dont expect from the devs.

Ark has been a futuristic scifi from the beginning. Im not sure why so many people are upset with them adding scifi creatures to a scifi game. The plot of the game has always been you have been placed in an unknown synthetic world as a test subject. Specimen implants, big techy structures floating above the ground, gifts coming from above via beems of light, even the dossiers mention some of original dinos seem to be combined or augmented versions of real extinct creatures... Ark has never been just a "dinosaur game". The game would have died out long ago if they stuck to just real dinos.

The hype is because they are using the event to announce a release date of the next DLC but the players are such entitled little brats they are all freaking out because the first countdown wasnt the release date.... but sure get mad at them for releasing a free surprise event... how dare they.

Works on my rented server for xbox, dont believe it works with prim+ though.

Im not saying its the players own fault I'm saying its a lot more complicated than the chorus of ignorant cries of "omg this game has been out a long time fix this thing I don't understand, it cant be that hard". If you really think its that simple please educate me on how they could stop character loss in a way that they arent already trying. The countdown was for more details on the next dlc also. They wanted to give people a chance to find the new explorer notes to hype it up a bit. "Life finds a way" is because the next dlc is on Earth after a global Extinction event and now we the players are going to go live there and find life has found a way.

They will never be able to make everyone happy. I'm just happy they are trying to do events like this to shake things up. It could be worse, they could do absolutely nothing at all. Also this update had bug fixes and optimizations like every single update they send out. It isnt like they decided "hey we want to make an event so we arent going to work on bugs at all". And although at smaller studios like WildCard Im sure many of the employees do multiple different things I kind of doubt the debug team is the same people as the graphic design people or what ever they are called? The transfer system isn't necessarily "broken". A large amount of lost characters are because of other players crashing the server on purpose. The Obelisk servers are seperate from the game servers, when a server goes down and rolls back the obelisk doesnt roll back with it. When you transfer your character into another server the first server saves your character is gone, but if the 2nd server crashes before the server saves(which is on a timer, 15 or 30 minutes I forget) it cant remember your character is there. The first server already saved that your character is gone so it cant be there and the second server crashing results in the last save loading which may not have your character there. There are other ways a character can be lost but that is the most common way. Other than better protection against attacks on the servers, which is much more complicated than it sounds, there isnt really much they can do. Its kind of weird to see so many people complaining about free updates to the game that have no real negative effect on the game or its development.... but I guess if that what you want to choose to be upset about in life thats your choice. I've played over 2500 hours in this game since it came out on xbox, I've gotten my moneys worth. It doesnt matter if they killed the game tomorrow with some stupid update, my experience cant be taken away.

It doesnt need to be more more reliable its something that everyone can do not just high level players and well established tribes. Its not going to break begginer servers as they will never be anything more than a demo server anyway. No the rexes wont effect mega tribes but every update/event doesnt have to be about mega tribes or long term players, they have to make the newer players happy too. Why on earth would we want these dinos as new dinos that we would have to add to already over crowded kibble farms. And why would we want them taking up the spawns of more important dinos. We already have these dinos it would have been a huge waste of time and resources. This update included bug fixes and optimization.

Well theres more to the event than that. The bone piles can have bps in them, they added new explorer notes hinting at the next dlc, they added the tek rex which could change the meta for a lot of things in the game if people grind for good stats. It all depends on how you look at it.

Theres a new timer if you didnt notice and they said 2 hours ago at the end of the next timer they will announce the dlc release date.
