  1. The HLN-A:

I do like that it vocalizes emotes. However, it doesn’t say “Hello” or anything when you wave. It also gets in the way if you stand still and look left. Too bad it can’t be attached to a shield or held in the hand as an option. Anything to remedy the blindspot without having to just unequip it.

It would also be nice if there was a way to save the color once you customize it. Otherwise a person has to repaint it every time they fast travel. Very annoying.

It sure did so now i have to start from scratch for a third time, seems to happen after every big update.

How hard can it be for Wildcard to implement some sort saving and loading system for console users ?

I have been looking forward to what was revealed but now i'm kinda feeling like why bother, if i do get it i will wait until it's on sale for a real low price sometime in the future.

I wouldn’t recommend making a new character just yet. It’s probably a long-shot but if enough people were effected there might be a patch.

For everyone complaining about upcoming fixes, check out @Cedric‘s Twitter. Here’s one of his last tweets. (Hint, you don’t need an account!) He leaks just enough info to let you know what’s going on in the background.

I just don’t get how poorly the communication is conducted. They’re really just asking for constant complaints. While Community Crunch is an improvement, it just doesn’t make any sense why they don’t centralize the news and announcements.

It’s probably safe to say a large number of the complaints are coming from people that just can’t find the information. That’s on WC. Anybody that has ever worked in PR dealing with digital media should know that it only makes sense to post ALL announcements and news in one location, like this website, and then link the Facebook and Twitter posts back to it. The more they keep scattering all the information around, the more it just ticks people off.

If you're meaning because 2x maturation ended, this isn't new that it's just how ark works, anything positive has a negative, oh there's cool coloured dinos, no 2x for you. Theres a cool candy that half tames stuff for vday? Well still no 2x effectively meaning this cool candy was just a limited 2x depending on how many dinos you could breed. If youre gonna do a raising event, yes you could do some maths too avoid it but of course they won't make it easy to imprint fully.

Because of the way it comes out, it can also affect dinos that were started before the event. We learned that the hard way and just put those babies on pause until the event is over.

Also, while I didn’t notice any problems during the 2x, there are times where the dinos mature too fast to get a full imprint. That applies to dinos started and ended during the event.

For players wanting to continue with dinos once the event is over without losing imprint, they just need to cryo their dinos with as much of the 8 hr imprint timer left as possible before the event ends. In theory, that should allow them to pick up where they left off.

Will the Evo Event actually be active this weekend.  The one announced for the 19-22 didn't seem to be working on the valguero map I was on, and it seemed like others had similar problems.

Yeah, no acknowledgement that it didn’t even happen. Perhaps they should extend the next EVO Event, or even make it 3x to make up for the letdown.

  6. What’s going on with the creature spawns in the Aberration area? The only things seeming to spawn/respawn down there are Spinos, Crabs and Anglers.

I even did a quick fly-through on a dedicated (cheat) server and it was the same. Only once I went down to the radiation zone did I start to see dodos and bulbdogs, but not threats.

Also, where are the blue gems? I saw on Reddit someone mentioned they are supposed to be on “high cliffs” but I’ve been all over the area, up and down and still haven’t seen a single cluster.

So your saying because decay hasnt been active people havent been playing and refreshing their bases?  I play so I know I dont have to worry about my stuff disappearing.

I’m saying that people that trusted there would be a warning owe WC a bit of thanks.

I literally know a couple that planned their honeymoon around it, and several others that used the opportunity to go on a long needed vacation. Personally, I appreciate it because while I remained active in servers, characters and accounts, it saved me a lot of time refreshing outposts and such. It would be a real pain to have to rebuild taming traps and alternative biome bases.

I’m really impressed with how they’ve handled the mess, and it’s even more commendable they didn’t hesitate to post a correction.

Thanks, we get to wait another week for some of the spam to disappear.

Better than logging on to find your base gone, or learning of a lot of other people losing vaults, bases, etc. Remember this all started because of a rollback after an update that destroyed a few vaults. It would really be a bad experience if we had to go through it all again.

At least this way, no one can say they didn’t have ample warning. If players don’t refresh their timers this week, players can only blame themselves if anything vanishes.

Kudos for WC keeping their word, and props for doing it with a correction.

I know this is kind of an old/irrelevant thread but the person above bumped it and saw this comment.

It appears something has changed here, as I had someone help me get off of Aberration and my items remained with me on the next map. Unless its unique to Prim+.

I’m not very familiar with Primitive+, so I don’t know. However, I believe if you use a transmitter it also transfers items in your inventory. I’m sure there are exceptions, but the safest method, in my opinion, is the data tab. Using the data tab also allows you to share items in the same game type with other characters you may have. Personally, I create a character for each map that I play on in order to avoid having to transfer my character.

I gotta say all these complaints about stuff from people is just childish. If you dont like the game anymore or the way wildcard operate go play something else and complain in the same way about that as I'm sure you will. Ok WC do make mistakes sometimes but they are only human and all the negativity from a % of the community doesn't help the situation at all if anything you are probably putting them off doing new content and working harder on getting popular mods integrated. How about leaving constructive criticism or pointing out any mistakes they make in a mature way, not screaming about it like petulant children. The toxic members are what puts the game down not the devs.

On the one hand, I agree people should try to be more constructive when it comes to criticism. It certainly doesn’t help when people just say they are going to quit playing. After all, why would anyone dedicate time and effort to fix something affecting players that are just going to quit anyway?

On the other, the only time I’ve really seen significant changes has been after a major outcry from members of the community. A lot of times we see a person venting after they have attempted to address an issue they are experiencing without remedy. Somehow it is easier to look past those posts and only notice when they lash out in frustration.

From a PR perspective, the best thing to do is to get out in front of complaints and acknowledge the problem and provide some communication about what is being done to address it. I think WC has done a pretty decent job lately, at least showing they care.

As far as the toxicity goes, it is a two-way street. Just like people that get on and rant about their problems, it is equally toxic when others tell them their problems aren’t worth addressing or suggest if they don’t like how it is they should “go play something else.” If they wanted to play something else, they would just go do that. What they obviously want is to play this game in a functional form.

Google any dino or item and you will see them for sale on various sites .

    Hey, I feel ya.

Personally, I think Facebook trading itself has done enough to ruin the game, and those transactions using in game resources such as ingots or tames are technically legit. It’s always kind of annoying to see new players pop onto a server as a level less than 10 and by the next day they are riding a mutant Giga and asking if anyone has an extra pod they can have.

The problem is WC can’t do anything about it or the real money transactions. They can’t make a rule against networking with your ‘friends’ on FB, even if you never met the person before, and the eBay sellers aren’t really selling dinos or whatever it is they are advertising. There is a rule against selling in game items, but legally there is a loophole those people get around by saying they are selling their “services” and not the actual item, dino, etc. You can literally pay someone to play the game for you, and there is no way anyone could effectively police against that.

I understand how frustrating it is to spend a lot of time and effort breeding dinos or obtaining rare items and resources to trade in the ‘natural’ in game economy just to find no one interested because they can get it better and easier on the internet. At the end of the day, you can only play the game for you and if someone else wants to buy their way ahead, that’s their loss because they won’t know what the pride of earning their own accomplishments is like.

  12. Regarding the managarmrs and balance, I think the nerf was too much for both PvE and PvP

While I agree they seem OP for PvP because one person can do so much damage alone, we should take into account no one had built defenses with them in mind. Manas aren’t as hard to defend against as they may first seem, but the older/traditional defense measures are not effective. This is part of the game, and nature of survival. I feel that tribes didn’t spend enough time experimenting with different defense strategies for anyone to make an accurate assessment of where the mana’s effectiveness should stand.

Let’s take into account that most of the complaints came from large established tribes that have developed bases that were secure against the traditional raids. Suddenly, with a new dino with new capabilities they were no longer secure and new vulnerabilities emerged, but wasn’t that the point?

I believe the community is innovative and would discover better defense methods. We shouldn’t let large tribes that have grown lazy at coming up with new strategies and tactics cause a great new dino to become useless in PvE and PvP raids. This isn’t a new issue, from the introduction of wyvern and tames like Rock Elementals, players have complained of new dinos being too OP. These things tend to work themselves out when players are left to overcome new challenges. I feel that the mana nerf may have been a bit premature, and the “team” should consider giving the mana back some of its power. Otherwise, what use is it?

Can you guys maybe look into a way of making taming wild creatures on official pve a little easier?  I know flyer carry is disabled and for good reason.  But with the ever increasing amount of pillars being built around my map it's making it harder and harder to build a small, temporary, trap to safely tame a creature.  I've been entertaining the idea of being able to cryo a creature once it's unconscious, however, people would still abuse that method.  Maybe adjust the wild creatures in a way that if they were to wake up(after being knocked out, cryo'd, then un-cryo'd) they'd be set to passive wild animal to prevent people from knocking out a wild giga and letting it loose inside someones base.  It wouldn't make it a tame per say but more like a "Claimed Tame".

idk just an idea.  people in this game are irresponsible and will somehow find a way to grief and ruin it for everyone.  One of my favorite tames is the Tusoteuthis but it's entirely useless on official pve due to not being able to carry wild dinos.  Unofficial would be a good route to go if I really wanted to play with flyer carry enabled but it kinda kills the game for me when all the rates are jacked up.

Building a taming raft is often a good alternative. They are also portable.

Says the governments and society that wants everyone against religion.  Christianity is the extension of the hebrew religion which is 1 of the oldest religions

Lol. Okay, I wasn’t trying to touch a nerve. Easter wasn’t a celebrated holiday for the Hebrew religion either, they observe Passover. It has nothing to do with being against religion, as paganism is a religion in itself.

It wasn’t until well after Christianity was formed as a separate religion that the Council of Nicea came together to establish common ground among the different sects of the Christian faith. Essentially, the time of year coincides with a period of days that are sacred to virtually every religion in some way. It’s not supposed to be divisive, but rather a unification where everyone could celebrate at the same time without feeling a sense or need to compete against one another.

It’s a time for harmony where we can all celebrate around the same time but in our own way, and I think it’s kind of beautiful that people can get together and enjoy something without having to worry about little details like what god a person prays to.  After all, it could just be that every religion is just a different perspective of the same god and angels and all the good people are going to land in the same place together no matter what words or names they use to describe it.

    Happy whatever, just be happy.

You keep claiming I’m a troll. Typical lefty, smear everyone you disagree with.

    You’re trolling, bub.

You don’t represent WC, but you continually make statements as though you do. I disagree with every person that thinks there should be another breeding event, but few of them are trolling and unlike you, I don’t think they are wrong for wanting something. People address WC specifically and you can’t help but insert yourself into a conversation that isn’t directed toward you, has NOTHING to do with you, and has no bearing on your NON-official  servers.

Somebody says, “WC should...” fill in the blank with whatever, and there you are telling the person they are wrong for wanting or thinking what they think.

    You are trolling.

    “Lefty?”  ?

Yeah, politics. Donkeys and elephants, neither of which I have time for.

    Pathetic, truly pathetic.

There is no way to balance a game for both pve and pvp

    You said it.

You are absolutely right, but you still have to admit they’ve done a pretty great job getting close. I really just wish they could separate the settings between PvP and PvE for the mana. Maybe there is even a better way to meet in the middle like increasing turret range instead of reducing the mana’s. Even with the nerf, they are still technically OP when it comes to other players, but as far as PvE goes they are in my cryofridge and have been since the previous nerf. They are basically useless now, for anything other than griefing, and ironically they are still kind of OP for that. There is probably a magic solution, but so far no wizard has come forth with the potion.

This was my point.  ANYONE can create a 2nd account, at least on XBOX you can.  Some folks do it simply for the purpose of having a crafting character, in this case I'd do it so you can continue to play.  If you are in a solo tribe then of course you can't be added to your tribe, but if not then another admin can add your 2nd character.

Also while I've created multiple characters, one for different maps on the same account I can't say I recommend it.  I've accidentally overwritten these characters by transferring my main onto that same map.  I've done this at least 2 or 3 times so I can't say I'll be doing things again that way anytime soon.

Ah, I see. Personally, I use a different character on every map because I’m always afraid an update or rollback will prevent transfers or delete my character. It’s a pain leveling each, but my dinos don’t starve and my bases don’t decay.
