  1. It's unfortunate that in the 60 seconds it took me to create this image, you think the dev team has completely stopped all work. The team have been and still are working hard to fix all high-priority issues.

  2. Update: There have been a few posts regarding the release date and why some retailer sites are displaying a different date to what we initially announced. This is because We're currently working on getting the game through PlayStation 4 Certification at the moment (as all platforms will need to release simultaneously). As soon as we've got a definitive update to the release date, we'll let you know officially. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey, Survivors! We’ve got important and exciting news to share! First of all, we’ve finally completed our game for the console disc retail submission! It was a very long and arduous process, our boss fight or so to say, and your feedback throughout this process has been highly valuable. It was a very tight deadline to make the ship date, and the team has been intensively grinding through singleplayer-oriented refinements for the posterity of the disc-based version. All that aside, we were able to resolve many issues, as well as considerably improve the game through various changes and implementation of new techniques and it’s now time to move onto refocus our development efforts on the live game, as well as address some key topics within the community: Will the Official Servers be wiping? Short answer: No -- but read the long answer! We had previously released a statement a year ago informing players that our Official Servers would not be wiping on the retail launch of the game. We’ve thought long and hard about the decision, taking into consideration the various points brought up by the community, the internal members of the team, as well as the general discussion that has taken place on the internet through various press/media outlets and will be sticking to our initial decision. It is clear that some group of players are for the wipe for, and some are against it, all for legitimate reasons; and we took it all into account. We ultimately decided that we would not wipe and we would rather pay the cost to launch an additional new PvP and PvE Server Cluster network (alongside but separate from the current PvP and PvE Legacy Cluster), where players will get to have a fresh experience on the ARK; across all four maps with no influence from any of the previous servers. At that time we'll be rolling out the new server code and infrastructure necessary to prevent critical issues such as server crashing exploits, duping, and DDoSing, so they will not affect the batch of new servers (as well as the legacy ones, going forward). Our current set of Official Servers will be rebranded as “Legacy” and indicated as such on all platforms. We will also be taking steps to remove some of our ‘ghost town’ servers, where the player population has remained near-zero for an extended duration of time. We’ll take a look at the statistics and will be repurposing 10% of the lowest count servers across all platforms. Once we know which servers these are; we'll preserve the save files and upload them, so if you so wish to use them, you can. Players will also have time to move through Cross-ARK to a different secure Legacy server. Every three months we will be taking a review of the Legacy Officials to see what the numbers are like and may consider repurposing more ‘ghost towns’, however, the goal will be to preserve any place with human activity. To be clear, if you're playing on a Legacy Server you will not be able to transfer to the new Official servers and Legacy servers will still receive total and complete support (just like the New Officials) in regards to Game Updates and future ARK Expansions, so you can expect to see future DLC servers added to the Legacy Cluster. Ragnarok: Console debut and development The new official release date for the Ragnarok Free DLC on consoles will be on the 8th of August when ARK launches for retail release. The team spent time discussing when would be the best time to release the map, for both technical reasons, as well as the experience itself, and this was the chosen date. We understand that some may find this news frustrating as you’ve waited a long time for the map, however after conferring for quite a while on the topic, we believe this is the best decision for the map’s arrival on console as; First of all, it allows the Ragnarok Developers to get the latest version of the Dev Kit and incorporate our latest changes to the game, which will have a significant impact on the console experience concerning performance, visual fidelity, and stability. Secondly, by focusing our technical workforce on the other aspects of the game (in addition to Ragnarok) such as server stability, crash exploits, duping, DDoS, we will be able to ensure a much smoother experience for when the map is available. Finally, with our recent decision in regards to whether there will be a wipe or not, this seems like the smartest decision, to avoid this awkward situation of where servers that have only just been online for a couple of weeks become legacy. The new date will also result in the map debut on console will be much farther ahead in its development than the map that was initially released on PC as the Ragnarok Developers have carried out a significant number of bug fixes, QOL changes on the map, and more! We will be doing a PC patch soon to upgrade to the latest version of the map (which is available in the Steam Workshop for Unofficial Servers!) so that you guys will also be able to enjoy their improvements! PlayStation 4 Update! It’s happening! Yes, we’re serious. We’re currently working on the latest PS4 patch with Abstraction at the moment, and while it’ll be tough, we should be set to release it this Friday (probably going to be a late evening patch). We’ll keep you posted how that goes! Thank you guys for being so patient with us over the past few weeks, we understand how frustrating it is not to receive updates, but now we are wrapped up with certification and this tight deadline, we’ll be able to go back to our standard development pipeline and therefore include you with our updates Console PC-Hosted Servers Yup, you heard it. As of the 8th of August, we will finally have support for PC hosted dedicated servers on console. We won’t be renting or hosting them ourselves, it isn’t a commercial venture for us, but we will be doing the technical work needed to get this underway. Initially, they will be available via Nitrado! (It’ll come to other third party hosts once we go through this initial technical-iteration phase, as we want to ensure its stability). These servers will be available on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and if you haven’t realised, here’s why this is so awesome: No need for a second console to host private servers! Complete access to all of ARKs custom server config settings, which will let players change the rules on their custom ARKs The option to create cross ARK Clusters for the ultimate ARK Experience -- allowing travel across four Maps Create a backup of server save files, allowing players to try something new without the fear of losing data The servers will result in higher performance due to better optimisation Player servers will now be able to support a larger pool of players, up to 100 concurrent users! At a later date, these will also be Play Anywhere compatible! For those of you wondering about repurposed console Legacy Official Servers, you will be able to take the save file and set up an Unofficial Server using this. Nitrado will be contacting those who show interest in console servers on the 8th of August via email, you can notify them here: http://nitra.do/arkconsole Let them know if you are keen, so they can properly estimate demand! Development Kit! Oh modders, how we love you so much, we hope you can forgive us for the delay and understand as developers yourselves our reason for doing so. Fortunately, we come bearing good news! Jeremy is prepping the latest version of the Dev Kit right now (literally!) and we will have it available to download later today via GitHub, and soon after that via the Unreal Launcher when we are confident in its stability. You’ll be able to keep up with the latest information on the Unreal Forums in regards to any relevant/cool changes! That should be what we wanted to discuss for today. Hopefully, it helps clear the air with what’s been going on and the direction we’re heading in. We're looking forward to a fun ARK launch with everyone in the weeks ahead! All the best, Studio Wildcard

  3. There should be a way to separate the balances made to dinosaurs and game mechanics between PvE and PvP. Multiple balances have made PvE nothing but hard. Managarmr being a recent example, in PvE they're useless now thanks to the many balances made to make PvP better. Flier nerf was a huge change in PvE making fliers and transportation harder by forcing us to land since PvP was taking to the skies too often and the game tried to "ground" the fight

  4. Hey Survivors, We’ve got some exciting news we’d like to share with you! As of today, we will be transitioning the ARK’s harvesting, EXP, and taming rates to 2x permanently. This is a decision we’ve made after experimenting with the game’s rates for quite some time. You may have noticed in the last few weeks the Evolution Events have gotten longer, this has allowed us to get a better feel for how it would play out in a permanent live experience. We have consistently received a lot of feedback from you, and it was very evident that players preferred the increased rates. Thusly, the rates will stay at 2x permanently from now onwards on our Official Servers. Evo Event Weekends will consequently be increased to 3x rates. Furthermore, in the next major version releases, the 2x rates will be implemented directly in the game build itself. This means that Non-Dedicated Servers, Single Player Sessions and of course Unofficial Servers will also feel the increased rates. Therefore, if you’re currently using customized rates, it’s something you will want to keep in mind before this change is in place -- specifically upon the release of the next Major Version on each of your respective platforms, you may wish to reduce your server/game rates by 50% to have the same effective values as before. We appreciate all the response you guys have provided to us regarding our Evolution Events and are looking forward to running more exploring new features with you in the upcoming future. All the best, Wildcard Jat and the ARK: Survival Evolved Team

  5. Common Name: Equus Species: Equus Magnus Time: Pleistocene Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Loyal Wild Equus Magnus appears to be an ancestor of the modern horse. Based on its stripes, it may be the African Variant of Equus Giganteus, which appeared in North America during the Ice Age, but that is pure conjecture. Its behaviour in the wild is similar to that of other wild members of the Equus genus - it sustains itself by grazing, while keeping safe from predators by living in herds and outrunning its attackers via superior speed and stamina. Domesticated Horse and man have long been partners in survival, and this remains true on the Island. In Equus, survivors will find a trusty steed or pack animal that can carry them swiftly across the land. In fact, Equus’ reliability has led some survivors to construct special saddles for them. I even encountered a man who added extra saddle-pouches that doubled as mobile crafting stations for chemical supplies, foodstuffs, and other items. Although not as robust as what you might find within a village, this utility helped him live a nomadic, solitary lifestyle. Some survivors employ Equus to herd other creature with extra-long whips, or wrangle using a specialized lasso. These tools are sometimes effective for self-defense as well, as Equus is limited in battle on its own… at least compared to aggressive prehistoric carnivores.

  7. A new Dino Dossier has been revealed, this one is everyone’s favourite fearsome feathered fearless fighter, the Yutryannus! Wild The Yutyrannus Saevus is believed to be related to the Tyrannosaurus Rex but it is noticeably different upon first glance. Feathered creatures are not necessarily viewed as dangerous predators in the same light as other theropods. However, the Yutyrannus strikes fear into even the most skilled hunters on the island. There are few wild predators that are able to pack-hunt alongside the generally hostile Carnotaurus, like the Yutyrannus does, with such ease. It is also the only creature I’ve seen to consistently induce a state of panic with its roar. Upon hearing it, most creatures in the area will flee for safety. Domesticated A domesticated Yutyrannus can be a powerful offensive or defensive addition to war parties. With its mighty roar, it can induce fear in opposing creatures. Meanwhile, Yutyrannus can be trained to develop a confidence-boosting Battle-Cry which counteracts enemy attempts to induce fear, while also bolstering the resolve of allies. These unique “leadership” qualities make the Yutyrannus a versatile, and at times, a necessary creature to have on your side during large-scale confrontations.

  8. Common Name: Kentrosaurus Species: Kentrosaurus Aethiopicus Time: Late Jurassic Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Short-Tempered Wild: While Kentrosaurus Aethiopicus is considerably smaller than its close relative, Stegosaurus Regium, it is much more formidable in matters of self defense. In fact, it is arguably the pound for pound champion of not only the Stegosauria, but when encountered in close-knit fighting packs, ranks atop the island’s herbivorous dinosaurs in general. Thanks to its wickedly sharp defensive spikes, any creature which attacks Kentrosaurus is likely to be reversely wounded in turn, and it is capable of piercing even the thickest of hides and armors when it goes on the offensive. I have personally witnessed the Kentrosaurus fell much larger predators in a single such “impaling” maneuver! Underestimating Kentrosaurus can be a fatal mistake, particularly when it is in a herd. When travelling in numbers, Kentrosaurus seems to grow much more aggressive, increasing the range at which it will defend its territory. Domesticated: Survivors have seen little success in their attempts to ride Kentrosaurus, owing to its spikes and hot-headed temperament. However, a tamed herd of Kentrosaurus can defend a compound as well as take on any larger carnivore. One swing of its deadly tail can save a survivors life, or even turn the tide of a pitched battle! A Message to the ARK Community Firstly, an emphatic "thank you" to the ARK community for the love they have shown towards this game. Your creations, your feedback, and your support have meant the world to us. THANK YOU! We'd also like to provide our official take on the Scorched Earth Expansion Pack, and the future of ARK. Put simply: we are absolutely committed to driving aggressive development towards a solid, feature-robust game launch for ARK: Survival Evolved. Everyone at Wildcard wakes up every day thinking about how we can make ARK into a better game today than it was the day before. It’s not always easy, but our intent is ever-forward progress towards a retail release that will be far more ambitious in scope and features than our original vision when we launched ARK into Steam Early Access in June 2015. Your feedback enables us to continually expand the game to become better than ever! Scorched Earth: Our original vision for ARK always included the creation of Expansion ARKs, along with the infrastructure and technical systems to transfer data dynamically between live ARKs. We determined that it is more sound to iterate on these systems during Early Access than after retail launch, given the significant risks involved if we didn't "get it right". While that meant unveiling the first Expansion early, it also means an easier time integrating further post-launch Expansions into the ARK network. We understand that this isn't everyone's cup of tea, and we appreciate the enjoyment people seem to be getting out of this initial view of how Expansion ARKs can work. Now that we have the systems in place to support them, we can ensure minimal integration issues with subsequent releases after ARK: Survival Evolved itself has launched. Thank you so much to everyone who has been surviving on Scorched Earth, and we hope that the new features and content that it brings into the ARK universe will enrich all players' experiences whatever map or mode you're playing on -- and in the weeks ahead we're looking forward to seeing what modders can make with the Scorched Earth content, and the powerful new Blueprint systems coming with them. Regarding our upcoming plans for ARK: Survival Evolved, here's a brief outline of what's ahead: - ARK v247 launches later this week, and among other things will include the fan-favorite creatures Tapejara and Archaeopteryx! - Breeding Phase 3 and the Boss Ascension Cycle are being wrapped up for release, and will soon make their debut along with the first Tek Tier items (Power Armor). - ARK Backstory!! You're going to get your first dose of ARK’s mythology with the Explorer Note system -- will you find them all and begin piecing together the mysteries of the ARK? - The first pass of the "Procedurally Generated ARKs" system should be coming to PC next month, and Xbox soon afterwards. Unlimited ARK varieties?! You bet! - As Scorched Earth dramatically expands ARK's Blueprint modding capabilities,we will be launching a new Mod Contest with the release of the Dev Kit that incorporates the Scorched Earth content. There is a lot more content beyond that as we head into the home-stretch of preparing the game for 1.0 release, but these are some of the things that we're particularly excited to get out to you! We're not nearly at the end of the journey yet, and ARK has much to come in order to fulfill its destiny as the ultimate Dinosaur survival experience of our collective dreams. But with your help, we are going to get there together, and every day will be ever more amazing on the ARK!

  9. Well I logged in and lagged out for about 5 minutes, then rubber-banded all over the place so I quit and went to work where it's less stressful.

  10. Survivors! We’re excited to reveal the first of many Explorer Notes to be uncovered whilst living on the island and over the coming few weeks, the ‘Explorer Note System’ will be finding its way onto the ARK itself. You’ll be able to discover the stories of actual inhabitants that have lived on the isle, and follow what their fates are over time*. By studying their notes, learning through their experiences, and revealing the secrets they have discovered, you will be able to get closer to the heart of the mysteries surrounding the ARK. * Not everyone can survive life on the ARK We’ll also be taking a break from revealing Dino Dossiers over the coming weeks as we spend some time catching up on implementing the Dossier backlog we have created for ourselves! We also want to see how the game evolves with further additions, so we can finalize what our remaining batch of creatures (Basilosaurus anyone?) will be and what they’ll bring to the ARK. Don’t worry though - we’ll still have a content reveal every Monday! Something new and mysterious will be unveiled

A new Dino Dossier has been revealed, this one is everyone's favourite gallant glider, the Griffin! Common name: Griffin Species: Gryphon Magnificum Time: Unknown Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild Gryphon Magnificum is undoubtedly a sight to behold. Many ancient myths tell of various depictions of the Griffin over the ages, but what is never disputed is its majestic and mysterious nature. With the front half of an eagle and the back half of a lion, it is as if these two creatures somehow fused together to form a superior land and air predator. While one's first instinct might be to approach the creature and marvel at its beauty, that would be a very poor decision. Its range of attacks makes it one of the more versatile predators I’ve witnessed. If its presence alone isn't enough to intimidate potential hunters, it has the ability to dive from the sky to the ground with such force that it inflicts damage to anyone unfortunate enough to be below it, or carry its momentum back into a rapid uplift. Domesticated The idea of pacifying such a beast is nothing to scoff at. It's highly independent nature and disinterest with interacting with humans combined with its power and strength make the Griffin a challenge to domesticate. However, there have been those who are fearless enough to attempt and succeed at this miraculous feat. Once tamed, riding atop a Griffin along with a tribemate passenger, dashing through the air at high speeds, is a prize in and of itself. Xbox One X, Crossbuy, and Crossplay! We were also excited to unveil that this November, ARK will be a Launch Title on the Xbox One X! We are currently aiming to have the game performing on the EPIC Settings at 60 FPS, with every graphical effect including TrueSky. With this, we’re also excited to reveal that the game will be ready on Xbox Play Anywhere, so Xbox Owners will be able to play ARK on whichever platform they own, be it a Windows 10 PC, Xbox One, or the Xbox One X. This will also allow us to introduce crossplay between the 3 platforms! Keep in mind that this is a retroactive crossbuy, so if you already own ARK on the Xbox One, you automatically get it on the Xbox One X and the Windows 10 store, and will remain crossbuy going forward too! Plus as we announced yesterday, the Xbox versions and Windows 10 store version can all play together on the same servers using crossplay! So get ready to partner up with your tribemates on whichever Microsoft platform you want to survive on That’s all for now guys! Thank you so much for all the support the past 2 years, and we hope you are excited as we are about the news. As always, there’s still more planned for the ARK universe, both leading up to and beyond the August 8 launch. Survivors on all platforms can look forward to a lot more going forward, so stay tuned! - Studio Wildcard

  19. Common Name: Titanosaur Species: Titanosaurus Vagacastrum Time: Late Cretaceous Diet: Herbivore Temperament: Passive, unless approached Wild Today I witnessed an unforgettable sight. The extremely rare ‘Titanosaurus Vagacastrum’. Essentially a walking mountain, it is an absolutely enormous sauropod which has developed armored plates of bone protrusions all over its body. Between these plates and its unparalleled size, Titanosaurus is extremely difficult to put down. In addition, Titanosaurus seems outright immune to any sort of narcotic effects. They often inadvertently crush nearby creatures underfoot with every step they take. Whilst most Sauropods ignore non-hostile creatures, Titanosaurs take issue with creatures invading its personal space. This is probably because they aggressively feed off any and all plants they can find. Titanosaurus eats constantly, which certainly helps recover health quickly, even after fighting off numerous carnivores such as Giganotosaurus. Domesticated I suspect that a Titanosaur, for all its sheer size, is overkill for a lone rider. Rather, for those elite tribes powerful enough to bend one of these titans to their will, the epic creature is employed as a mobile superfortress, capable of ferrying obscene amounts of weight, structures, defenses, and creatures across the island. Some nomadic tribes even have their main base on their back of a Titanosaur! Humble Bundle Sale! Survivors, for those of you who don't have ARK or has a friend who would like to purchase the game - we're now available on the Humble Store at a discounted price of 40%! You can grab a copy of the game here.

  20. Hey Survivors, Here is a quick update on this Major version patch that just rolled out. We're aware that there has been an increase in both client and server crashes - we've patched as many on the server side as we can (you'll have seen the various updates come through), and we've also addressed some client-side on PC (we're preparing these for console as we speak). These crashes were caused by technical changes we've made to the core game as we remaster Scorched Earth. Changes in the long term that will make remastering content smoother, and also provide modders with some more flexibility when developing their content too. Unfortunately, when it went live, it caused certain mods to crash as they hadn't been updated to use the new technology - we've since released the Devkit which will allow modders to update their mods to resolve these crashes (and we're also putting additional checks on our side into the game to protect against them). We appreciate your reports and patience. We know it's been a rocky few days, but the patch has been very informative and also helped us identify and resolve a number of issues that would have otherwise impacted the Scorched Earth release. We’ll continue to monitor the live game and keep you updated as we move towards the release of Scorched Earth!

  21. Lmao, you don't get it: price is the last and minor issue. Getting paid for work is legit thing (if price is legit too!). The main issues are others. Official shutdown Total official shutdown is like forcing users to buy the game, despite ASE still selling good and getting new players activation daily. This also kills owners of old gen consoles that cannot even download and keep the server saves. You NEVER cared about server status: never a server review after 2019 with the partial shutdown of legacy. You opened always new servers even for unplayed maps. And now you are telling those resources are all needed for a game that still doesn't exists even on preorder and that will face 1-2 maps only at begin? This is a mockery. FIX: Keep Official alive until it is played. Do a server review, do it seriously, say what server have to close for being un-played, allowing people to move giving a decent amount of time. Do this review every 6-9-12 months until really those servers are all unpopulated and you decide to shutdown ASE. And please note that a lot of official players quitted now for your previous disastrous community crunch. Overwolf Overwolf is a piece of crapware slowing down system, eating resources. Paid mods will kill unofficial with players having to pay both slots and mods. Instead, mod.io initial choice was far better choice. FIX: Toss off overwolf and go back to mod.io. Multiplatform Multiplatform is just a sex toy for monkey streamers to get more viewers: it will only add tons of issues about cheating, account login issues, patch deployment issues (pc vs consoles certification process). This also put a dark shadows against unofficial and dedicated server runtimes: microsoft and sony don't like non-nda users dealing with their account and login platforms. You tried it with SOTF and didn't work (pad vs mouse&keyboard). FIX: Toss off multiplatform. It didn’t work with SOTF (mouse vs keyboard) and brings only deployment issues. Nobody really cares nor asked about this. Or if you really wanna do it, don't put it as default choice and on official servers. Your behaviour toward community You totally lack of any real sign of respect towards your community: lies, mocking, total silence hoping people will forget Now you say you changed again idea about your future econmical income? All these are proofs you aren't serious on your work and intentions. You are even able to sincerely ask sorry for those that will lose years of supporting your game. All this "we al learning" agile poop paradigm is just the iceberg peak of your total fail on this. ARK Survival Evolved is sold as an mmo, at least on Steam. In a mmo there are 2 really important aspect a developer must consider: servers review and community respect. For 7 years you clearly totally showed you do not care about these 2 things. FIX: Ask sorry. Really and sincerely. And stop using players as beta tester. Provide beta releases and servers for that.

  23. I guess I am one of those "No ones". I believe that Procedural Generated maps is a great addition and once working properly after the "Initial Testing Experiment" of this update, the versatility of this game will have become unlimited. So many thing to do, so many new maps available. So many more uncharted territory to explore. The same old map gets old after a while. This will open up extended play. By delaying the update to smooth it out instead of sending out trash too early is in fact them getting their poop together. This was a wise decision.

  24. Happy Tuesday, Survivors! It's PC patch day and we've got two exciting things to chat about that we are currently working on. Structures Plus: Now that Extinction has been officially released, the team will be dedicating some time to the integration of Structures Plus. Pulling S+ into ARK's already existing structure system without causing issues with current structures is very important to us. There are also many features that exist in S+ that we cannot integrate into official servers without taking into consideration the impact on game balance. The plan is to integrate S+ on a feature by feature basis, prioritizing features that are compatible with the official game. We may integrate additional features gated by options for unofficials as time permits. Our first bit of integration starts immediately in today’s PC patch where we introduce the ability to pick up undamaged structures for free if it was placed in the last 30 seconds. You can pick up a placed structure by looking directly at the structure and pressing the interact key (E). This change will be included in the next patch for console, due later this week. Kibble Rework: Extinction's kibble setup (known as Augmented Kibble) was phase one of our kibble rework. We are currently in the process of assigning these new kibble types to all of the remaining ARK creatures across all maps. All eggs will be assigned a value based on the size and rarity of the egg. These sizes include: Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, and Special. The eggs are then used in a recipe to create kibble of a coinciding value: Basic, Simple, Regular, Superior, Exceptional, and Extraordinary. This new system will make it so that creature kibble desires are based on the quality levels instead of specific creatures. We plan to introduce these changes on an experimental beta branch before letting it loose into the wild population at a later date. We’re excited to tackle this much needed rework! NOTE: These plans are subject to change.

  25. The major version patch we're rolling out today includes some shader improvements and under-the-hood changes that help us prepare for the upcoming Scorched Earth release. The goal is to get these changes out sooner so the Scorched Earth patch isn't as big to download on launch day and also helps our team identify issues before that major release. Scorched Earth is still on track to release at the end of the month, and we're just wrapping up our final bits of development before submitting it to cert. After that, we’ll be clear to release! This patch also contains one other significant change from the live game. We've improved the pipeline for human characters by removing redundant assets simplifying the process of making character animations and assets for both modders, content creators, and the internal team. From a player perspective, when this patch rolls out, you'll notice your female character having changed its proportions, but we've gone ahead and implemented new functionality on the Scissors, allowing you to adjust your character's appearance at any time, including bone modifications. There are still a few things we’re working through, such as animation issues (emotes, whistling) however, these will get resolved over the next few weeks or with the Scorched Earth release. For content creators, we’ll be releasing a new Devkit update today so you can start making the changes to your assets. We’ve also created a Blender file that you can use to help convert your assets to support the new character model (and will be looking into a solution for Maya users but that is TBD). You can download the blender file and read up on the instructions here: https://devkit.studiowildcard.com/guides/legacy-female-armor-conversion

  26. How about statistics on server performance? I would think that would be useful to Wildcard as well to maybe adjust where needed and make servers generally perform better and stop kicking everyone all the time.

  27. Given the situation in the US, and the rest of the world right now, we will be rescheduling the ARK in-game celebration until Thursday, June 11. We understand that our community has much anticipated the ARK in-game party and the launch of Crystal Isles, and we're looking forward to sharing all we have prepared for you next week. We felt it would be inappropriate to celebrate milestones during the present time as there are bigger things afoot, and that outweighs any plans we otherwise had. We believe now is the time to be respectful and hear the voices of others. Studio Wildcard

  28. Hey Survivors! Here's a little glance at our upcoming Tek Tier items! This is just the first pass on the armour, but we're pretty happy with how it's coming along so far! There's been a few rumours being spread about us no longer focusing on ARK: Survival Evolved, and I'd like to come out and just dispel those rumours! That is definitely not the case, the core-game will get all the attention and love it warrants and more! So don't worry guys! Pardon the lack of content and updates lately, we've been a little occupied with getting restructured into new offices (we're awful at the non-game development side of things!) and a ton of trade shows, now a lot of us are recovering from the bug ha. As we proceed through our development period you guys will get to see and experience a lot of new awesome content and I'll see if we can show off more prototypes and first passes of our Tek Tier technology as they come to fruition! So let us know what you think about about these early-shots of the armour! Cheers, Wildcard Jat & The ARK: Survival Evolved Team!

  29. Forgot to note the stats of a creature before leveling up? This tool helps to retreive the values that matter for breeding. Now you can also save your extracted stats in a library, see which creature has the best stats and view the pedigree of your pets. Sort your library to see which creatures are the best for breeding and compare which stats are inherited to the offspring. Feedback is welcome. Also I'm looking forward to see some awesome pedigrees, share yours if you got a nice breed. The latest version can be downloaded here: https://github.com/cadon/ARKStatsExtractor/releases/latest

  33. Hello Survivors! We’re back again with another announcement straight from PAX East 2016! We told you that there would be a lot coming this week, and a bit of everything for everyone and we’ll be true to our words. Studio Wildcard is proud and excited to announce the ARK: Official Mods program. What this means is that we’ll be able to take a step further when working with Mods and begin integrating them into our Official ARK System. We will be launching this program starting with The Center Map for Xbox One and PC in May 2016. Designed by community member Ben Burkart, The Center adds an over-the-top, fantasy-themed map that doubles the size of the current game and is more varied than the original ARK map, with tons of new biomes, dungeons, floating islands, end-of-the-world waterfalls, massive ancient ruins, along with other wonders to explore and secrets to find. Drawn completely by hand without any auto-generated content, The Center is a massive increase in the game's official playable content and is free to both PC and Xbox One players. Following that we’ll be working hard to introduce more of your favourite mods to the game with Primitive+ (already an Official Mod on PC). In the case of Primitive Plus, players are challenged to use only wood and stone without the benefit of advanced metals to create weapons such as guns. A whole new set of items and detailed new mechanics focus the player on 'primitive' survival, which fits snugly in the world of ARK. Primitive Plus will be playable as a functionality mod on all official ARK maps. We really appreciate and value the hard work and effort that goes into the mods from the community and will do what we can to help, this new program is another step we’re going to take to ensure that modders get all the support they need and are recognized for their contribution and efforts in ARK! Thank you for all your support and be sure to keep up with our PAX East show at www.twitch.tv/survivetheark for all the latest news and announcements! Don’t forget to give the #PAXRex a shout out ;). See you guys tomorrow! All the best, Wildcard Jat and The ARK: Survival Evolved Team.

  37. Deinonychus Common Name: Deinonychus Species: Deinonychus magna pede Time: Cretaceous Diet: Carnivore Temperament: Aggressive Wild By the time you hear the scurrying claws of the Deinonychus, it's often too late. Superior hunters, they leap from a hiding place and pounce on their prey. The Deinonychus is an agile climber as well, jumping from wall ledge to wall ledge as it seeks high vantage points to lie in wait. A hungry Deinonychus tends to be fearless and will hunt prey much larger than itself, latching onto a dinosaur's back with its sickle-shaped claws, then starting to feed before its victim is even dead. While it likes its meat fresh, a Deinonychus isn't above scavenging a carcass if no other food is available. Domesticated Raising a Deinonychus in captivity requires an ample food supply, as they have a fast metabolism to match their high activity level. The Deinonychus is also fiercely territorial near nests with eggs, even if the eggs aren't its own. This makes breeding successive generations a hazardous process. Unless raised from eggs, they cannot be tamed; the hunter instinct of a wild Deinonychus is so strong that it reflexively pounces on a would-be master. When will this creature make its first appearance on the ARK? Find out more soon! 38. Saddle up Survivors, as we’ve got a couple of important updates we’d like to inform you all of. First of all, before we get into the nitty gritty of all the details of the upcoming changes, allow us to say this. Over the past few days, there have been a lot of hot-topics of discussion around the community. Some of these topics have not had an immediate response from the development team, this is not because we are choosing to ignore, but because we want to have time to deliberate and consider our options before responding, or taking action. We try to read all the feedback you provide, whether it’s positive, negative, or indifferent and take action where we deem it viable. ARK was launched into Early Access with the idea of creating a game together, and we are still sticking to that plan, every single day. Sometimes decisions are needed to be made that require a bit of thinking time, but we’ll make those choices. Other times, we’re going to do things you don’t quite agree with, or you’re going to suggest things that we don’t quite see as a viable option for the game - but we will take into consideration what you’re saying, and make compromises or reevaluate our plans where necessary. Today’s announcement will help shed some light on our thoughts, as well as the route we plan to take going forward. Evolution Event: Cross ARK Transfers! As of Friday the 18th of November at 12PM ET we are going to be activating the following evolution event: 2x Harvesting Rates 2x Taming Rates 2x EXP Rates This will run until Monday the 21st of November 12PM ET. We’ll also be introducing a new permanent change will be coming to your CrossARK Clusters: Complete transfer of Items, Tames and Survivors through all MAPS on the Official ARK Network (separated by game mode). Please note that this will not affect Player Dedicated Servers. This is just an Official Server change Previously, you were only able to transfer Survivors TO Scorched Earth servers, and everything FROM a Scorched Earth server. Now, you’ll be able to have absolute rights when transferring and can go from Island to Island, Center to Center, Scorched Earth to Scorched Earth, Island to Scorched Earth, Center to Scorched Earth, and Island to Center without any limitations, and the reverse of course. Please remember that these transfers are still based on the cluster (mode) you play on; PvE can only go to PvE, Hardcore can only go to Hardcore, Primitive can only go to Primitive etc. When we first announced the ARK Transfer system with the Launch of Scorched Earth, we stated that it was something critical we wanted to experiment with in Early Access and to see how the game would progress once we introduced that new gameplay mechanic. Following what we’ve seen, and based on the feedback we have received, we would rather allow more freedom, where acceptable of course, than impose further limits. Alongside this change, we are now going to introduce a new mechanic: Once a Tame has been uploaded and downloaded onto an ARK, it will suffer a 12-hour cooldown until it can be transferred again. Transferred tames will also display on the HUD from which server they were last uploaded from (if you’re on a different Tribe, you will only see this indicator when the Tame is dead). We want to provide the opportunity for tribes to scout each other across the ARK, as well as limit, -- to an extent -- tribes from storming in and then storming out immediately with their tames. By enabling the complete CrossARK transfers, it should also provide the chance for existing players to scope out new servers of the same type, meet up with friends, and find new opportunities or adventure, with no PvP server being unassailable or off-limits. With all big changes, we understand that this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I’m sure I’ve said that before, though keep in mind these changes may not be final. We want to see how things play out, whether this was the right move, how we can further improve the system. Something we’re considering down the line is introducing more limitations on what can be transferred, such as only Baby Tames or Eggs can be transferred, perhaps we limit Scorched Earth transfers to Scorched Earth base/raw materials only. Your feedback following today’s change will be critical as it enables us to continually develop and expand the game, as well as provide the opportunity to explore further options. Update number two.. Stance on Exploiting Let’s be clear about this, no one likes cheaters. We don’t like cheaters, you don’t like cheaters, your friends don’t like cheaters, cheaters don’t even like each other. We want to do everything we can to ensure that the ARK is a fair place for everyone to play with one another. It is why we worked to get a strong BattlEye system for ARK which is constantly receiving updates and will continue to do so because we want to stomp out cheats. However, I don’t think it would be unreasonable to say that we have been lenient when taking action against people who are exploiting game bugs. Previously, we have felt that the bugs are on us and we have to do our best to resolve them and fix them, so we try not to punish survivors in this instance and make changes that will benefit the community as a whole, in the long-term, even if in the moment it seems a bit unfair. We’re going to change that up a little bit. Going forward, we will be taking a stricter approach when it comes to exploiting game bugs. If there is malicious intent, we will take action, be it destroying your tribe, structures, tames, and where necessary straight up removing you from the ARK and adding you to the global ban list and requesting a VAC ban. Consider this your warning to those of who you would rather exploit than report. Cases such as duping, or building under the map for instance, will result in such actions. Of course, it’ll be case by case, accidents happen, sometimes you’re curious - but it is pretty clear when there is indeed malicious intent and that’s where we’ll be taking action. ..but wait, there’s more! Primitive Servers Primitive Servers were something we introduced fairly on to the game at the request of the community, they hadn’t really been part of our game plan but it was clear that a lot of you wanted to experience this. Every now and then we introduce updates to the game which impact Primitive in a not so great way, primarily because that particular game mode isn’t quite set up to deal with the vast changes of the ARK. We’re going to make some adjustments to alleviate some of the current problems that exist and we’ll try and pay better attention going forward. Similarly to all changes, nothing is ever final and a lot of it is experimenting. A big concern that has been brought up is the power of some particular Scorched Earth dinos. Going way back when we introduced the Giga to the game, we made some changes to weaken it’s damage specifically on Primitive servers. We found that worked pretty well, so we’ll be taking a similar approach now. Tamed Wyverns will deal 70% less damage and take 70% more damage. Tamed Rock Golems will deal 70% less damage and take 20x more damage. Alpha Wyverns will deal 67% less damage and take 67% more damage. These changes are only going to be made effective on Primitive servers, and again we’ll be seeing how things go. For now, the other dinos (other than the Giga, Ptero and Argent) remain unaffected. For a complete and more filling Primitive experience, we really recommend you guys try out Primitive+ - which has some pretty cool updates on the way, stay tuned for tomorrow’s Crunch. So there’s quite a lot to take in, and you may not completely agree with all our changes, be it Primitive, Cross ARK transfers, or even a heavy-handed approach to exploiters, but we’ll see how things go and will make more adjustments if necessary! Now for some great news. Very excited to share this! Lately, the team has been working pretty hard on tracking down this darn Dino Spawning in Bases issue that has been plaguing us for such a long time. and we think we’ve cracked it! Here’s a heat map of Dino Spawns that have taken place on an Official Server, indicating new wild spawn distance from bases & tames: Blue = Dino Spawns Red = Buildings Green = Tames Pretty nice eh? (The Areas where it still appears to overlap are underground Cave spawns!) So as always folks, thank you again for your commitment and passion that you show towards the ARK. We really value each of you and are grateful to have such an active community. Your feedback has proven to be an absolute game changer, ARK itself has evolved so much from where it originally was, a lot of plans have changed and the scope of the game has gotten a lot bigger than what we first intended it would be thanks to being able to work with you. Hopefully, this is another step forward towards making the ARK as great as we know it can be! All the best, Wildcard Jat and the ARK: Survival Evolved Team

  39. Today, ARK: Survival Evolved has made its transition from an Early Access title to a full Digital and Retail release. As a studio, we are incredibly excited about reaching this milestone. It has been a challenging and emotional experience for everyone a part of the ARK world; we're overjoyed about finally being able to hold the complete ARK disc, and want to thank each one of you for joining us on this journey. ARK started out as a very ambitious project, in terms of scope of content, features, and the story. It was no secret that we were in for an adventure with what we were hoping to achieve alongside the community. It started out as a basic open-world survival game, with one ARK, one boss, about 30 creatures, and approximately a bazillion bugs give or take. It was hard to say where the game would lead us, regarding its story, and its development. Those of you who were with us for the Early Access launch had many questions about how the world came to be, why you were here, and where we were going. Today, you can begin to discover the answer to those questions. Over the past 26 months, the game has undergone massive improvements thanks to feedback from the community. We now launch with four ARKs - including the Norse & Scottish Highland-Inspired "Ragnarok" -, five bosses, over one hundred creatures to tame and encounter, the inclusion of the Primitive+ alternate game mode & Procedural ARKs, hundreds of mods, total User Interface overhauls, general performance enhancements, bug fixes, quality of life improvements, countless additional gameplay plus story elements, and... a toilet. With the “1.0” release version, you can experience the full story of ARK: Survival Evolved! Can you make it to the heart of the ARK and discover the shocking secret that lies buried within? While it may seem strange for a survival game to have a “single player” mode with an “ending”, we’re happy that surviving the ARK provides a measure of closure should you seek it, while also pointing the way to what comes next. Rest assured this complete version of the game will still be receiving regular updates, and this is not the end of the ARK saga, but only the beginning of the next phase, for great adventures and awe-inspiring new experiences are just around the corner… It won't be long before we add two new members to our ever growing family of critters (with the Otter joining us today on PC, with the Phoenix and additional Tek Gear coming later this week!), as well as items, additional gameplay elements and more. ARK has only just scratched the surface, and there is a long future ahead, survivors everywhere will get to experience something out of this world. Early Access hasn't been an easy or straightforward process; there is no established guidebook or instructions on how to take a game from early access, and into the full digital and physical retail release. You could say that we now understand why so few have done it. Having the community by our side, through thick and thin has been a key component to achieving this milestone. Sometimes we've made mistakes, and have had different opinions, but we truly appreciate each and every one of you. Your feedback, ideas, support, and passion through our Early Access journey have been vital to the development of the game and will continue to be invaluable to us. The community has undoubtedly influenced ARK for the better and contributed to its success and the landmark of reaching full digital and retail release. We encourage everyone who has ever wanted to ride a T-Rex, soar across the skies on the back of a Pteranodon, fish from their boat as the evening sun fades over the horizon, or explore the deepest caverns to encounter terrifying extinct predators, to join us in the living, dynamic world that is ARK: Survival Evolved. Whether online or off, solo or in a large tribe, we think that everyone will find something special to discover on the ARK and make it their home. Stay tuned for updates on the relaunch of our Official Server Network on our social media channels (@survivetheark), and watch this space over the course of this week for lots more exciting ARK news, hint hint! See you there!

  40. Hello Survivors! We are very excited to share a titanic amount of news with you! Today at E3 with PC Gamer, we were able to reveal some of the upcoming updates coming to the ARK! First of all, let’s begin with what you’re all curious to hear about, our new gamemode… ARK: Primal Survival! ARK: Primal Survival is an upcoming Total Conversion where survivors will be able to play, live, and breed as any of the ARK’s creatures! Survivors will experience full survival mechanics and lifecycles, including mating, growing, recruiting more creatures to your ‘pack,’ even constructing primitive dens. Playing Primal Survival, which will launch later this year on PC and Xbox One as an Official Total Conversion, will allow survivors to experience; Live life as a Raptor, communicate and coordinate tactical attacks on other species. Spend your nights creepily crawling around the caves as the Araneo, catching your victims with your web spinning ability and spraying them paralyzing venom, while laying eggs to expand your brood! Work together as one to execute strategic attacks alongside your pack to chase and takedown prey! Train and protect your young through the harsh winters so that they are ready to join the hunt by the time they are full grown adults. Cuddle up with your cubs and forget about your worries and your strife whilst you spend the day fishing, wandering and roaming the land with your sleuth! Experience the ARK through the eyes of a Titanomyrma, building a thriving colony centered around ‘ant hills’, and survive against the elements and the dangers that the island brings! Furthermore the new functionality associated with this Primal Survival mode will also enable mod creators to build much more intricate mods involving playing as these various creatures and detailing their lifecycles & survival mechanics, with new capabilities for creating asymmetric gameplay modes. ;)! ? The Redwood Biome and Spotlight: Titanosaur! Releasing June 22 on Steam via the v243 update, and shortly thereafter on Xbox One, The Redwood Biome is an all-new biome filled with lush, giant trees sturdy enough in which to build treehouses and villages. Harvest lumber from these gigantic arbors to create your fortress super high up in the air, providing a safer place to to build a village as well as providing height advantage for a superb tactical defense stance, or tap into the massive redwoods to extract their sap for healthy concoctions. Also making its debut in ARK v243, the extremely rare Titanosaur (Titanosaurus Vagacastrum) is the largest creature found on ARK island, operating for many players as a mobile superfortress capable of ferrying obscene amounts of weight, structures, defenses and creatures upon its back. Essentially a walking mountain, this herbivore often crushes creatures and buildings within its path and takes issue with any creature invading his personal space. Primitive Plus Official Mod Launch! The second official mod, Primitive+, will launch directly within ARK: Survival Evolved on Thursday, July 28 for both PC and Xbox One players! Primitive+ explores the idea of what life may be like with common-day knowledge and resources provided by the land. It incorporates primitive tools and techniques that are still being used by indigenous tribes around the world today! Players are challenged to use primarily wood and stone without the benefit of advanced metals. A whole new set of items and detailed new mechanics focus the player on 'primitive' survival, which fits snugly in the world of ARK. Primitive+ will be playable as a functionality mod on all official ARK maps. The mod will include; - Over 100 primitive-themed structures - 3 ancient building tiers (adobe, lumber, brick & cement) - Diverse resource system - live off the land with 40 different resources - Primitive trapping system (deadfall trap / fishing traps) - Advanced farming - 10 historic crops and resources (Wheat, Barley, Coffee, Tea, etc) - 11 iconic weapons (Flintlock pistol, Musket, Viking Axe, Battleaxe, etc) - 60 types of food recipes to craft - Enhanced role-playing experience (market stalls for trading, meals, etc) With even more update and features to come! We hope you guys are excited for today’s announcements just as much as we are! And don’t worry, we’ve still got loads more exciting developments coming up this year, and we’re excited to continuing to work with you to create ARK: Survival Evolved and its many extended features! All the best, Wildcard Jat & the ARK: Survival Evolved Team

  41. First off, congrats to the PS4 community, it's great to have some fellow console survivors joining us in our struggle on ARK. I'm happy they got the game, but I like others am not happy that they're getting exclusives that we helped to provide feedback for & help make the game better from both PC & Xbox One. Let's face it, without help from the Xbox Crowd, ARK wouldn't have done half as well as it has. I'm hoping these are just timed exclusives & Wildcard will do right by the Xbox crowd and send both those items our way.

  42. Wasn't that giga skin meant for the people who played SOTF? 200 wins and you would get it. Seems unfair for devs to insult the community like this.

  44. So the reveal was really cool, just disappointed we're getting an expansion pack that needs to be bought before the game is officially released. Seems backwards to me. You should add this stuff after the original game is complete and officially released.

  45. So me and a friend of my are having a game breaking issue. The survival bar on the right is cut off. I've change the UI scale. Plus my own tv's interface and still nothing. I can't leave base because I don't know my vitals nor my tames vitals

  46. [Artwork done by myself.] 🕸️Hello allies of the Ark! My submission here is a jumping spider species that is said to have lived once between 23 and 15 million years ago, and the excitement of that discovery led to its last name, eureka! I genuinely hope to see Maevia eureka find its way to Ark some day, any support for it is infinitely appreciated, please take a moment to toss it a vote if you would like to see it around in Ark! These are my thoughts on how Maevia eureka could fit into the world we play in, in a way that reflects real life jumping spiders combined with genetic modifications from other spiders, and how they might fit into Ark in a fun and meaningful way that reflects other creatures of Ark and how important each and every one of these creatures is. I felt that, as Maevia is more of a taming companion, this gives us a different way to tame creatures using a non-harmful method! As it is in Aberration, there are many risks you take while engaging with your targets due to the fact that aberration can be quite chaotic so having to be weary of your surroundings at all times is one thing, but the larger the creature, the weaker the bola... You may find yourself having to maneuver around an area and keep your targets attention while allowing for your jumper to gather enough venom to ensnare it once again. 🏞️Habitat This is a creature that is capable of being added to any map in the game due to its likeliness of living in caves, but also as jumping spiders can be found in so many different environments, there particularly are no limits to where they could be found! 🕷️Ability - Prey Lure You're out roaming around on your two equus when one of them begins to pick up an irresistible scent coming from a nearby cave wall. Your equus is nibbling on a suspended droplet when you notice the faint glinting coming off the web it's attached to, within an instant a jumper has lunged at your equus covering it with its bola and is quickly wrapping it up in its webbing, but in order to free your companion you need to tear at the webbing, as a few good hits will send that jumper scurrying up the wall to hide! 🕷️Ability - Tranq Bola The thought is that jumpers could take the droplets they store and work them into their webbing to create venom-coated webs that could be thrown like a bola. The webs would have a tranquilizing effect whenever touched, thus causing their target to build up torpor and eventually go unconscious. 🕷️Ability - Latching As a jumping spider, they have outstanding agility and the ability to crawl on walls, but at a more rapid pace, maybe even with the cost of stamina drain for balance! An optional thing I had given thought to was the ability to fully latch onto its target in order to accurately cover them with their readied net. 🕷️Ability - Locking On This is the single feature that would make this creature so invaluable, and even possibly make it require a very difficult feat for taming it due to that power, as with the spiders extreme accuracy, it has the ability to lock its attention onto its prey, much like our real world jumping spiders who wait for the right moment to pounce, and this could also be useful for when using its projectile web net, or if grappling with a single web possibly! This is a pretty big part of what makes them 'jumping' spiders after all! 🕷️Trait - Scary Face This spider was designed in thought with evolving to be able to terrify larger than normal predators, making it an incredibly useful tame for bases, keeping your creatures better protected when having to move them around the map, I imagined it could come with an extra ability to raise its back legs with its abdomen to stay in this stance on the ground, or you could enable an option within the radial menu allowing it to find and hang down from a nearby pole, perhaps even a new item for the spiders and flyers alike, akin to a perch? 🕷️Trait/Ability - Dance! Jumping spiders in the real world have very little differentiation on sizes between male and female. The idea was that the males would be the ones that allow you to get close enough to tame them, while females will try to kill you if you do this, and when you find a male companion, he has the ability to dance when you find a female, you can engage in this dance, maybe a left/right/up/down type of button combination you have to get right in order for her to find your boy worthy of her prescence, and in the meantime you can shower her with presents of food until she wants your boy to dance for her again, gradually gaining her trust. When a movement is not corrected quickly enough, she would become hostile and attack, and you may have to wait for her to cool off before you can attempt this ritual again! There is a last minute really nice alternative way of taming these and obtaining females specifically that I would like to add, suggested by an ally of maevia! Alternative method for obtaining females! This would make it to where you would need to take your male that you tamed into the wild, and challenge it with a female! If you win the dance, the female will allow breeding and allow you to stick around, defending her in her vulnerable moment, giving you an egg (or web-wrapped little gift sac with a jumper in it or an egg or two)! This egg sac could provide a male or female you could have! 🕯️Dossier!🕯️ If there's one thing I can say about Maevia eureka, you do not want to be caught in its sights! I once witnessed a jumper locking onto its prey with the most incredible accuracy, lunging at it with lightning speed and within the blink of an eye, its prey was being saved as a snack for later. They seem to have the genes of a few other spiders like that of the ogre spider, as it can cast a gathering of its webbing along with a little dab of the venom droplet it keeps stored on its head, working that into its web to create paralytic bolas that seem to render its prey unconscious. I have reason to believe the hairs that grow on its back legs came from the peacock spider, but due to its need for protection, it also uses these 'feathers' as a menacing face that can scare off large predators, I've seen some tribes set up posts that they can hang from around the fronts of their bases. I will say one thing is for certain, though they are nearly the size of a dire bear, they are quite the cuties, especially for being a spider, there is a certain intelligence you can see when you look into their eyes, I just can't place it, but they truly make remarkable companions with the ability to rapidly scale walls, caves, cliffsides and such. By no means are they a beast of burden, however they make up for this with their abilities to constrict or assassinate their targets. Maevia eureka can take down much larger prey with its torpor inducing bola, the net cast, and this makes them remarkable allies for taming other creatures. Though I haven't been able to get close enough to befriend one of the females, the males don't seem to mind me being in a remote vicinity with them as much. I wanted to add some other suggestions in a simplified form, key points from what Ark allies have mentioned before! - Droplets could be used as a nameless venom alternative, slower to produce but useful in situations or great when you have a plethora of jumpers. - Alternative where the male is small, female is massive, male used as a shoulder buddy that has major utility such as making ziplines, grapple, and large bola, where female is the tamer albeit slow with a few things to keep the balance. - Gacha coccoons, small creatures could be snatched and turned into coccoons, hung up and could produce goodies or other useful materials. - Radial menu where the production, torpor, and other things could be enhanced, as well as weight of creatures depending on torpor percentage, for how small/medium/large the taming capability could be for jumpers. - Torpor resistance due to thick fur/hairs. - Potentially immunity to radiation, which would help a tremendous amount when seeking rockdrake eggs.

  48. Download in full resolution An Update on G enesis Part 2 As we gear-up for the epic conclusion of ARK: Survival Evolved’s storyline with ARK: Genesis Part 2, we’re checking in with the community on its progress. Near the beginning of this year, the studio transitioned to working remotely. While the development of Genesis Part 2 has been ongoing throughout, and significant progress has been made, going from a highly collaborative in-office workflow to remote comes with specific challenges. Upon further evaluation, we now have a better sense of the production timeline for Genesis Part 2. The new locked-in release date is now March 2021 simultaneously on all platforms. We understand that you are eager to get into it, and this news is disappointing; however, we are passionate about delivering something genuinely special, memorable, and suitably epic. This additional time allows us to ensure a better and unique experience and is well worth the investment. We’ll be showing an extensive first-look at Genesis Part 2 later this year, revealing more details about completing your quest for ultimate survival; the forthcoming preview will reveal some of the new creatures, items, locations, features, and more! We do however have other significant updates locked-&-loaded for this year! Just over the horizon, you can look forward to: ‘The Crystal Isles’ Free DLC on console: This includes the map in its entirety as well as three new tamable and breedable Crystal Wyverns. We are planning to release this significant update during the last week of August 2020. Tender Love and Care Pass 3: This patch will overhaul two classic creatures with a new makeover containing updated models, animations, visuals, and new gameplay functionality for them. We'll also be doing further general quality of life, balance, and gameplay changes to the core-game in this update. Our much anticipated TLC 3 pass is planned for a simultaneous release on all platforms in October 2020! More on that a little later On behalf of the broader Wildcard team, we want to thank you for your ongoing support. We are continuously humbled and appreciative of the community’s creativity, passion, dedication! We're looking forward to sharing ARK’s next chapter with you and a very exciting 2020 & 2021! Studio Wildcard Upcoming Balance Pass We’ve spoken a lot about what players can look forward to in the future for ARK, now let’s talk about the present! This Thursday, July 30th, we’ll be releasing a minor version update on PC, Xbox, and PS4 which will contain a number of quality of life and balance changes. This configuration is not retroactive, so applying this change will require some manual administration work to clear up any pre-existing platforms that exceed the limit. MaxGateFrameOnSaddles=2 We’ll be enabling this on our Official PvP Network and setting the limit to 2, on all platforms. Official PvP players will have approximately 30 days to adjust their current existing platforms to remove any that exceed the gateway limit. Official Rates We’ve heard you loud and clear! Since March, our Official Networks across those 3 platforms have been under the effect of an Evolution Event as these increased rates have now become the norm and we are happy with the results, it’s time to make it a permanent change! Going forward, we'll be doubling the fun by doubling the Official Rates across PC, Xbox and PS4 as standard, along with some changes to our specialty servers. From the next major version, Official Server rates will now have increased default rates for Harvesting, Taming, and XP. What was previously ‘2x rates’ prior to today, will now become the new base rate (1x). The increased 2x rates will be implemented directly in the game build itself. Official rates will be adjusted accordingly: Standard Official Servers: 1x harvesting, taming, and XP (which is equivalent to 2x when considering our old values) Small Tribes Servers: Smalls will have their taming, harvesting, and XP changed to 2.5x (which is equivalent to 5x when considering our old values) Apocalypse Servers: These will remain at 3x harvesting, taming, and XP (which is equivalent to 6x when considering our old values) P.S -- This is actually the second time we’ve increased the default rates if we look back to the early access days of 2015. So for you old timeys, it’s technically 4x ?. Inb4 comments ‘back in my day, it took us two weeks to build a wooden 4x4’. EVO Event As mentioned above, the Official Network rates will be increasing to 2X following the next major version update. Following the update, we'll have more information on EVO events. Until then, we'll be using the EVO event system to apply the bonuses. 49. I think I can speak for the entire Ark community that's currently playing, that it's completely wrong that PS4 gets EXCLUSIVE skins. The Xbox and PC community has supported this game through it's entire development. We've had to endure the game being pushed back a year. We've had to endure updates constantly failing to be released on time. I understand this is not a complete game, but that's not the point. The point is, we've been the ones that this game has been tested on. We've had to experience all of the horrible glitches that have come with this games development stages, and PS4 gets exclusive skins? I'm happy for you guys broadening your platform spectrum, but this is still not right. Xbox and PC players deserve a lot more than to see this.
