  1. I am normally easygoing, but I take offense at this. Not you personally, Joe. I mean at Twitter. Some people just don't like Twitter and would just as soon avoid it. (I am one of those people.) A post warning people on this message board to expect an update would take five extra minutes. Granted this is a quiet message board, but some people do use it. As I said, not everyone has Twitter or even want it. I would like to restate that this is not a personal attack. I just don't think everyone should be forced to use twitter.

  2. Continue Prim+ as normal, but Add some of the great things from Prim+ to Regular Ark. Like the building materials, equipment, and maybe even let us have the option to build the primitive industrial stuff. The mod has so many great things to make ark more than just survival, (not that that’s not enough) I think we’re long overdue for new items. Including new foods, recipes, drinks, materials, and all sorts of crazy things that regular ark should have.

  3. Hi all, Ark has a special place in my heart as I'm sure it does for all of you. The topic has been on my mind for a while and I wanted to share my thoughts here and hopefully get support to get this added into ARK II. I enjoy PVP the most, but there's one big problem... It's unbalanced. I think most players will agree with this. What I would wish for is to either completely overhaul the PVP standards in ARK II, or add this as a third mode, perhaps called: PVP Deadzone e.g. Essentially, everything is the same as regular PVP, however similar to GTA V or Escape From Tarkov, you have your own mini Ark that only you can access, in where you can safely store all your resources and creatures. The only way you can die or lose gear is what you bring out to the main map and if you get killed. I think this will encourage a much more balanced and combat focused experience, rather than the current PVP meta of soak turrets with turtle, C4 base, steal all their stuff. Plus it's really brutal and discouraging to be a casual player who loses hours/days/weeks worth of work all in one moment at the hands of a no life Ark PVP sweat. Imagine any other game like COD, GTA, where you can work for months to unlock camos e.g. and someone just took them all. It's too brutal and discourages allot of players from actually enjoying PVP. The mini, personal base Arks could work as follows... A 4x6 Ark at LVL 55 A 6x8 Ark at LVL 65 A 8x10 Ark at LVL 75 A 12x16 Ark at LVL 85 A 18x20 Ark at LVL 95 ...and so on. You can admit other players and tribe members into your personal Ark base, but they can't take or damage anything/one, they can only pickup what you drop if you choose to share with them. Obviously this would be tweaked to suit ARK, but it's just an idea I had that I really hope gets implemented. ARK is amazing game that has so much potential to be even more in ARK II, and I sincerely hope they implement something similar to this so people can have a PVP experience without the brutal risk of losing every single thing they worked for. Stay safe exploring the Ark, -TheRexAdvocate

  5. I checked out the latest patch today, just in case... Still unplayable in PS5. The constant stutter, freezing and texture loading are simply unbearable for more than 2 mins. I know...what was I thinking right?

  7. "Most people" I'd like to see some kind of graph or data of every country with internet, cuz while "alot of people" do use it I think that's quite the exaggeration. But that's besides the point, I see no difference writing and posting on twitter or this website, except that the post can be archived, or rather formal. I mean this shouldn't be a hassle other gaming companies don't JUST put out important information on Twitter.

  8. Dimorphodons. Oh sure there are lots of bigger and more powerful dinos, and more efficient dinos, but for the good old fashioned fun factor it's hard to beat the enjoyment of sending in a swarm of 50 dilos and they wreck something or someone. I wouldn't send them in against stuff with AOE damage, for obvious reasons, unless they're the result of a good breeding program, but for just wandering around the map exploring and harvesting it's entertaining to have a flock of dimo's to destroy almost anything that bothers you.

  9. I agree. I would imagine that some people really like the current state of Ark PvP, but for me, active combat is magnitudes more fun than raiding offline players.

  10. Hello, is there a tutorial for adding a map? I am looking to integrate the new map which participates in ark sponsor The Earrion. Thanks for your help

  11. On a sidenote, there are really good orp mods that could be implemented into ark2. One of my favorites is that you can only orp a spherical area of up to X foundations diameter per map instead of everything on the map.

  12. Originally when I conceptualized it, that was before the sinacrops was a thing but I can still see them having different purposes. For the Sinacrops you need to be holding space bar or you just drop. The Raven parrot will default have you hovering, similar to how the archeyopteryx works and you hold a button to drop faster. It is also intended to have more pvp utility such as biting and crippling a flyer that grabs you while it's equipped, or alerting you to a dino targeting and coming at you. So while there are some similarities, their use would be different. Sinacrops is better for a utility travel creature, the raven parrot is better for fighting.

  13. Implementing prim+ would evolve ark: survival evolved into ark: evolved survival evolved. The more evolved's the better. Jk

  14. THIS. I fully support this, but the highlighted parts of this sentence in particular (emphasis mine). I think this is a great opportunity to add layers to early and middle stages. The idea that I could CHOOSE my tech tree progression instead of just following the usual thatch->wood->stone->metal (and tek for those who want to fight bosses), using the materials & Engram points to follow different "branches" is awesome. Out of the 3 DLC, we had a new building tier only once (adobe, in SE), and it vastly depends on what map you're on. Meanwhile Prim+ is right there for the taking, with mats that, I'm assuming, can be collected/crafted easily without tweaks to maps, and offers the equivalent of DLC building tier that we didn't get through Aberration & Extinction (and that the Homestead update only did halfway). Not to mention, being able to combine all the building tiers to design unique bases would be so exciting ! Happy building, happy RPing, more variety in farming... for a lot of players like me, this could feel like an actual DLC, exciting and with new game mechanics to explore. I love all of what this suggests & implies. I cannot overstate how enthusiastic this makes me.

  15. Exactly. ? There is already a way to hide access of certain engrams on a server, so I do not see why the same couldn't be done for none-primitive engrams should a server wish to continue using the Primitive Plus gameplay. The discussion on the weigh in touched on it a bit, and based on what I read there, I think the best method would be to add a new "Server Setting" area that focuses directly on engrams. There you could either pick and choose which ones you wanted to hide, or check a box that would allow for them certain sets to be hidden or available. For example: These are assuming that all primitive plus engrams and resources were added to standard gameplay. Hide non-primitive plus engrams - this would allow for players to play using only the primitive plus engrams. Hide all tek engrams - this would allow for players to play using all engrams excluding tek, as some prefer. Hide all saddle engrams - this would hide saddles for those who prefer to play without tames. It would clean up their engram screens to show only those they can use during gameplay Hide all selected engrams - under this menu, every engram would be listed so the host may select individual which they would like to hide. On another note, should any additional items from other mod sets be added officially to the game, those items too could be turned on or off by checking a box, as prefered by the host. It would allow for a bit more customization for those that do not have access to mods (console players), keep the coding streamlined through one game (hiding engrams shouldn't break the game or be as complicated as adjusting to multiple sets of code as it is between the primitive plus and standard gameplay) , and it would open things up to possible customization later as well (assuming of course the eventually add additional mod content that some may want while others do not).

  16. I am in complete agreement. Integrating Prim+ into the main game should make it easier on the developers, give access to the Prim+ items and hopefully help with different map (games) braking. I know that some Prim+ players want to be "purists", and i get that. But, if implemented correctly Prim+ players could still play the way they want and Items could be added to other maps. Win win. We all paid for the game/maps and this would be a great implementation if done.

  17. Can we please get this going? This is something I’ve been waiting for forever now! Please!

  18. My thoughts exactly. I pay to rent a server, and it’s not “role play” but we do have shops, and centers for better interactions and more controlled PVP, and it works relatively well, but with Prim+ items included, it could only be better.

  19. Absolutely; I know it was mentioned. But it is a golden idea, and as you said. It would help Prim+ get some quick fixes if these things made it in to the base game. Which would help everyone. Ark is a fantastic game. But sometimes you just want to do more, and with Lumber, Brick, and reinforced glass and such, it could be that much better.

  20. Wildcard have indeed sad that, but it doesn't mean the fans don't want it. TBH the fact that it still is in game suggestions shows that people really want this. In fact people have pushed to get ahold of modders so that they can make this a reality and push it in the main game. In fact at the very start of last year it was said that it and the tek wyvern saddle could come out. Also the claim it was finished is flawed considering that the phoenix ended up being added, and it was originally said way back when sourced was released it would get lots of new content (phoenix isn't lots). Also the claim regarding the lore is not valid because it only says how helena got off the station, not us. We should be able to get off the station to aberration through an ascension because the chances are that ascension would be how we got to aberration. The thing is we are not helena and we need to see a cutscene to find out. Otherwise we just magically teleported which is not true. Also this map has only died out because of generator decay. Otherwise the map would be playable for most people because surprisingly enough the map is loved. It is just unlivable on official due to the stupid generator needing constant repair not being difficult but a pain in the ass. Well that and Ragnarok.

  21. If I remember correctly, one of the suggestions on the weigh in thread is to incorporate the primitive plus items into standard game play. This move would hopefully allow for the updating to be a bit smoother as the coding would line up a bit better. On top of that it was suggested that when setting up a server, or single player game, that a checkbox be available that could turn on a primitive mode that would essentially hide all none primitive engrams when selected. So those who prefer to play in the primitive mode could continue to do so. Personally, I am all for it. I know there would be a lot changed in the process, but if it could be done with minimal loss to current primitive plus players, I think it would be an excellent move forward. ?

  22. I really hope this idea gets traction. I really love this game mode but on PC the load times and the issues that come up almost every major update are super frustrating. At least if prim+ were integrated into regular Ark, private server admins could do a custom game.ini with only primitive appropriate engrams and not have the super long load times with it as a total conversion. Hopefully prim+ specific resources could be integrated as well.

  23. Also if we are going off of what the explorer notes say, this is #29 of Helena's from SE. The transporter that can take us back to the "control center" station is in the ruins of another city, south of the mountains. Wali believes that it was destroyed by the obelisks, just like the city in the southeast. I didn't press her for details, not that I'd have gotten any. Wali's more tight lipped about those ruins than anything. I had to practically beg her to take me to the southeastern city, and while we were there, she spent most of her time just gazing out into the distance. No sense in bringing her mood down with that rubbish now. After all that she's done for me, I'd like give her a nice, proper farewell. At least add in the ruins or make it more obvious which ruins they are talking about so we can follow in their footsteps.

  24. I literally said that above as well, but thanks for repeating that. I know they didn't ascend, but it would be cool if they added one in. Scorched Earth just seems like an outlier map compared to the other three.
    1 point
  25. Yeah! Maybe if they ever did add scorched earth ascension the tek wyvern saddle could be an engram you earn once completing and of course a new implant because an ascension isn’t an ascension if your implant doesn’t get a new look.
