people didn't learn to level, they added OP notes to the game to get level 70 in two minutes also aided by the fact that they doubled all rates permanently twice now. The game has permanent 4x rates and people still cry everytime there's not a 2x weekend. Go play unofficial or call of duty if you want 0 grinding in a survival game2 points

Not everyone got to play over xmas - some ppl have family commitments, was hoping for an evo event to start playing lost island - and I agree there shouldn't be any evo events tbh, it should be boosted all of the time, or very consistently over the weekends. Just makes ppl who miss those events not want to play, and those who do catch them just miss them when they don't come again for a while.1 point

It should only hold the .ark save whilst loading Ark Viewer (or downloading if ftp) - once loaded everything should be in memory and the file locks released. Checking the code I have the stream wrapped up in a Using statement (technical code stuff) and assumed this would close and clean up any file lock. I will investigate an explicit .Close() on the next build to see if that helps. ..scrap that. Based on that information from the dev code I have no idea why a file lock would persist on the main .ark save once it's loaded. Should definitely not have to close ASV to release the lock as it uses its own in-memory version of the objects once loaded.1 point

Subsribing to Volcano and re-subscribring to Amissa to investigate. Will update you shortly. ..edit.. Amissa seems to load fine for me. Volcano was never supported, unless you added it to maps.json yourself? I will investigate adding support in the next build. Ps. If you can't get Amissa working I will investigate if you can upload the save folder somehwere I can download and debug. ... edit 2... Re-packaged and re-uploaded to same download link. Added support for TheVolcano.ark and included map image in the maps folder. Thanks again @Larkfields - adding a new map is so much easier now1 point

Since I started ark (back in 2017 when it released on console) I was always wondering if they’d add like a bigger bat creature. Like an onyc but a lot larger (basically the desmodus lmao) bc bats are one of my fav animals and im sorry if this is annoying but ive always thought that the animations for the flyers in the game have been a bit basic so I hope the team at wildcard can pull off a more realistic approach to it. (Kind of like it’s body moving with the wings as they flap like real bats) but yeah I hope u guys at wildcard are doing good and I can’t wait for the Desmodus! (If I get a blue one I’m naming it zubat xD)1 point

I copy the ".ark" savefile before running Mirage's utility - and run the util on the copy. You'll need to edit maps.json so it knows the name of the copied file.1 point

The real hilarity is them talking about a lack of realism considering the in game abilities of creatures in game. I mean as an example last I checked nothing in the fossil record indicated that Amargasaurus could shoot hot and cold quills out of its body and regrow them.1 point

That still wouldn't address the host of other issues outlined. TLCs have not to my knowledge given a whole walk cycle animation, level up animation or anything of the such. That aside the desmo won the vote, saying "well we're just gonna tlc the creature we already have rather than give you what you voted for" would've been about the worst move WC could make. People wanted desmodus so they voted for it, they didn't vote for an onyc rework. That'd be like telling people they should tame a raptor after they clearly state they want a deinonychus. They simply aren't the same creatures regardless of visual similarities.1 point
