This event more than i have experienced before was a waste of lags and disconnections. I lost so many eggs and babies to disconnection and log in issues. I haven't got any advice to offer but it would be a great shame if you were to quit, your stories have helped me through my own dark times. Good luck @Penguin73

SP Xbox, The Island I have been breeding Yutys for a few days now and have learned an incredible amount. I didn’t realize how much space this was going to take, I’ve renovated the breeding area like 3 times. No big deal, though, I like building. After the novelty of hatching wore off, I got bored and planned and built a gladiator-style coliseum. It’s not just for show, it’s got a triple-purpose. For one, it will serve as a nice place to kill and get rid of all the unwanted yutys that are no longer needed for breeding as well as other useless dinos hanging around. Next, it’s entire floor has a basement with a generator and a/c units (obviously for hatching) and a walkway up top on which to place the last of the female yuty breeders, which brings me to my third purpose, levelling. I can either choose to keep some good yutys that fall into the pit, but the vast majority will be used to level the keepers. The yuty you want to keep walks up the ramp to fall into the pit, slaughters however many dinos, then leaves thru the gates ready for either the snow save or boss fights. There’s even a platform on which they stand afterwards to get painted, kind of like a rite of passage... not much else to do who left waiting around for timers to go down lol. I’ve currently got a stack of 2 health, 4 melee on my current breeders. Soo far to go, yet 😟. Current colours are green main body with a red stripe on top, pretty poopy but different I’ll admit. I won’t mind if I get something else 😅 also... I now have an UNGODLY amount of chocolates and candies. Had to make a bunch more storage and fridges 😁 Anybody else go a bit crazy on collecting the event items?

It is already a year after the original date published. Wild card has missed every date THEY have ever said. So..... it is should be no surprise. We won't see genesis 2 till next year, well Christmas if we are lucky. Oh and ark 2. That will be 5 years from now.

Wow, a week to March 2021 and still no GENESIS 2 info. I bet next crunch will be SORRY, WE HAVE TO postpone release of Gen2 to September.

I always find this one of the most interesting posts to read. What did you do on *ARK* today? I for one tamed a few scorpions, filled my troughs full of berries and meat and then decided to look into the possibility of taming a high lvl bear ready for a cave run (would be my first run so it may not go well). I also put a Ballista on the back of a one of Dinos so that might be a laugh to go on later. Other than that, Ill be hopping on later with some friends and will put a few hrs into just socialising and doing a few little chores.

(Official, Crystal Isles) Refreshed base. (Official, Extinction) Made some small and one medium taxidermy bases, uploaded them, fed dinos. (Official, Valguero) Fed dinos, retrieved and installed taxidermy bases (one small and the medium one stayed uninstalled, just in case). Tamed an otter. Male, level 15, that little fur scarf annoyed me almost enough to make him into gloves before I finally managed to tame him.

I did get loads of dino candies but very few chocolates, but the few I did collect spoiled before I realised they could spoil 😆

Today I spent my time refreshing servers today. Also helped out a dude who got tribe grieved by offering him an anky to help with the metal grind. Then I logged off in my tek sleeping pod to get some of that juicy 2x experience.

The game isn't 'coded in a way that these problems exist'.. Good grief, what kind of rubbish statement is that? That means they intentionally added the bugs! Are you seriously making excuses as to why we've got these issues in the game? Are you truly that daft? There are multiple reasons as to why we are plagued with bugs and other issues and it's not because of the way the game is coded, but i'll get to that a bit further down. The so-called 'workarounds' were first figured out by PLAYERS not the developers themselves. These so-called 'workarounds' are like those type of band-aids that come off way too fast. There's a REASON a LOT of ARK players still consider this game to still be in a state of Early Access/Game Preview, and that's because of the bugs and other issues that have persisted since Early Access/Game Preview, and it makes one wonder why they bothered with Early Access/Game Preview in the first place, since that's the time during game development where they should fix said bugs and issues to make sure the game runs and behaves smoothly post-release. The main fault (Two parties actually are at fault here, more on that further down) there lies with the QA team and their inability to do their jobs correctly. As a QA analyst and QA lead, they have a responsibility to make sure that the game is shipped with little to no bugs, especially game breaking bugs and other issues. Point being, we shouldn't have to use workarounds for every single issue with the game, or any game for that matter, though ARK is probably the only game with so many bugs and issues post-release in the history of gaming, both when it comes to the internal code structure and networking issues. I mean they are using what is probably the worst server host on the planet. Just look at how freakishly slow the website is loading for the most part.. If the QA team had done their jobs correctly, and worked with the dev team and the testers aka Early Access players, the game wouldn't even have half the bugs and issues currently present. As for the other part of who's fault it is, it's the shills, the white knights and brown nosers (Including some youtubers) who constantly keep yelling to the developers that they're doing nothing wrong and the game is super duper awesome with no bugs etc all the while, shutting down threads that contains negative criticism and feedback they don't like. If these shills, white knights and brown nosers including the QA team doesn't get their heads out of their own rear-ends, ARK 2 is going to flop. They've shown little to no transparency during it's life cycle except from during the early days of Early Access on Steam, and when something goes wrong (which it does on a daily basis, especially for Xbox server owners renting through Nitrado!), they point their fingers in any direction but their own (So does Nitrado). Heck, we're still waiting on the flyer speed leveling update for consoles, an update that has been out on PC since late 2020 now. Trying to shill and tell us that there's nothing to fix or do about the game is ridiculous at best, when all the evidence present tells us otherwise. I wonder how a stat sheet of how many tames, characters, bases that have been lost over the years due to bugs and issues post-launch would look like.. Add in all the connectivity issues related to private server on consoles rented from Nitrado with stats showing how often people get a timeout/connection to host lost message. It certainly wouldn't look good..

this is gonna be a doozy. so i finally managed to get genesis on my PS4, even tho fate seemed determine to prove otherwise. i loaded in the map for the first time, crashed. This happened 4 more times before i finally loaded into the bog, i died and decided to respawn in the arctic, crashed. so i reset my world, made a ne character and started again. i spawned in the bog and made my way to the dodoball mission, there i slowly made a makeshift wooden base surrounded by spikes. i tamed a raptor, it got kaproed, tamed another, it got kaproed, this went of for some time. i'd tame a raptor, and it'd just get grabbed by a kapro and run off with it. i finally managed to tame 4 decent lvl raptors, 150, 150, 145. the 130 had no good stats and was a nice blue, so i made it my main. after spending a good hour leveling it, i managed to get it to 300 weight and just over 2000HP, hopefully it'd survive a trek through the bog. while out, i came across a pack of 3 high lvled parasaurs. tamed em all up and i made them pack mules. i found a good metal spot nearby. took the paras and the raptor out to get some, came back with all tames just able to move. after i got to flak armor and primitive guns. i prepped for a trek to the arctic. i planned to establish a base there. i plan to do that next time i play. my plan is to tame a saber or something more viable for long distance travel. something that can carry a decent amount, can handle itself without nearly dying, and fight back. might go for a bear if i find a good one.

like its going to be a big achievement character loss had been since launch of official servers and had been increasing since, server stability became worst with gen release. all together wildcard is doing a poor job. By the time more fixes wilcome and Ark2 will be released and support on Ark1 will be dropped like on legacy. Connect char to steam/char id of account so new chars will be in tribe or something. Since you can ban players you should be able to donthis also.

"World Borders: Soon, we will be updating world barriers on all maps so that anything outside of a world border will be destroyed." hopefully you will make the borders really visible if you want to kill everything behind them. especially on scorched earth you usually see the borders after you have already flown against them.

Lmao get ur poop togheter you could of throw at least some dino maturation rates aling the usless x2 xp and make us a lil happy for the screw ups you keep bringing on us, very lame that much i can say.

How about wiping the dupers on Genesis servers? They even boast by putting all their duped crap in tek boxes for all to see. And servers aren't playable.

Well I logged in and lagged out for about 5 minutes, then rubber-banded all over the place so I quit and went to work where it's less stressful.

The game decided to punish me today It started off really well, I logged into extinction and went to look for a decent snow owl. I found a nice lvl 135 female, and was of course super happy since most owls flying around the snow biome are low level. Taming was quick and easy. I then flew around a bit and spotted a male 120, which I also tamed. I brought them back to my base, and logged off. Decided to come back before going to bed - why oh why did I do this, playing for a bit before going to bed never ends well, although this time it really wasn't my fault. Anyway, I decided to move the two owls over to the island, for breeding purposes. I hopped onto my ember wyvern and flew towards the sanctuary (I know there's a city terminal near my base at the sunken forest, but I can never find it...), but as I neared the city walls the game crashed. I restarted, waited until I could log in again, but the game crashed again. Now I started to get a bit nervous. I restarted my PC, logged in again, and the respawn screen came up. I picked the outpost at the sanctuary as respawn location, hoping that I could quickly recover my body bag. Immediately, the game crashed again. I realized there was not much time left to recover the body bag, and the cryopodded owls within it, so I asked my buddy to log in real quick - turns out she had not yet downloaded today's patch . I attempted to get into extinction a few more times, without success. I made one attempt at creating a singleplayer game, and running towards the location where the crashes happened: crashed again. At this point I was sure the body bag had despawned. I decided to quit for today. I just hope my ember wyvern is allright. If he stayed up in the air, nothing should have happened to him, and now that I'm offline the damage protection must have kicked in. I hope my buddy can find him tomorrow - or maybe, just maybe, I can get into extinction again myself. I'll have to run an integrity check on the game files, maybe this will fix it. I can visit all of our other bases on other servers just fine, its just the sanctuary that causes problems. But of course, I'll constantly be anxious as long as this issue persists, so I won't do much on the other servers. Anyway, it's been a long long time since I lost tames to an ark bug. And to lose them on the very same day I got them 🙁 I know many people have lost way more dinos than me, but I really really hate losing tames, no matter how. I normally put cryopodded dinos into the inventory of my flier, just so that nothing happens if I die - but this time, I wanted the transfer timer to go down while travelling to the city terminal. I'm now really, really tempted to just buy a good snow owl from a breeder on my island server. If only his prices weren't so crazy 😐

I hit the wall this weekend. I think all the disconnects, lag, and difficulty logging back in to the game after a disconnect finally got to me. So much lost lately for stupid reasons. I am tired of not really progressing. I checked the console and it said I have over 70 days in Ark in the past year. That is about 1700 hours... and the last 500 hours felt like I have been walking through mud. Good days don't really happen anymore. And my definition of a good day has dramatically changed for the worse. So, I podded most of the dinos around the base that were not already podded, and I need to go make more pods to do the rest. I am not ready to fully quit, but I am definitely going to take a break and maybe play something else for awhile. I started out playing SP and got as far as defeating the tek cave and ascending but never went further before switching to PVE. If I play again I think it will be in the SP mode again. Pick up where I left off. I mostly play by myself anyway. Also, there is much less performance issues, and I can come and go when I want. IDK, maybe I am just done and done.
