  1. Our Tender Loving Care 3 update approaches on November 7th and, aside from the dedicated reworks of the Stego and Mammoth, we’ve added a bunch of Quality of Life changes to make your time on the ARK more enjoyable. We’re particularly excited about introducing insect and wyvern breeding to the game and look forward to players getting their new breedlines goin!. We’re aware these creatures may need some balance once breedlines get underway and we’ll monitor and adjust as necessary. New Breedable Creatures The insects and creatures that can now be bred are: Spider, Onyc, Moth, Scorpion, Arthropluera, Mantis and the mighty Wyverns! The new (Wyvern are unchanged) hatching/gestation and maturation times are as follows: Spider Egg Hatch Time: 1 hour and 25 minutes (Matches Pachy) Total Maturation Time: 1 day, 1 hour, and 1 minute (Matches Dimorph) Bat Total Gestation Time: 3 hours and 58 minutes (Matches Procoptodon) Total Maturation Time: 1day, 4 hours, and 3 minutes (Matches Kairuku) Moth Egg Hatch Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes (Matches Kairuku) Total Maturation Time: 1 day, 6 hours, and 51 minutes (Matches Pegomastax) Scorpion Egg Hatch Time: 1 hour and 59 minutes (Matches Raptor) Total Maturation Time: 1 day, 13 hours, and 12 minutes (Matches Raptor) Arthropluera Egg Hatch Time: 2 hours and 29 minutes (Matches Sarco) Total Maturation Time: 2 days, 3 hours, and 26 minutes (Matches Stego) Mantis Egg Hatch Time: 2 hours and 46 minutes (Matches Stego) Total Maturation Time: 2 days, 6 hours, and 27 minutes (Matches Tapejara) Creature Quality of Life Changes In addition to insect breeding, we went back and showed some love to a few of ARK's well-known inhabitants. It’s set to currently match the Official Server Turret Limit radius, but players can also toggle viewing the radius on/off. The current functionality it supports is as follows: The ability to set a pin code to all turrets in range The ability to copy settings to all turrets in range The ability to copy settings to pin code-selected turrets in range The settings which can be copied are: power state, range, targeting, warning We are anxious to get these community requests and quality of life improvements into your hands! The Tender Loving Care 3 update launches on November 7th on all platforms! We realize the TLC patch releasing at the same time as Extra Life is less than ideal for players. To compensate, we'll be extending the duration of the Extra Life boosted rates so everyone can enjoy the boost! Official Server Maintenance and Infrastructure Upgrade Next week on Tuesday/Wednesday the 27th/28th, we plan to upgrade our Server Transfer infrastructure. The intent behind these upgrades is to resolve problems with character loss, player timeout, latency, and failure to download or upload player data at times. We've recently put a lot of time into refining the transfer logic, and combined with the hardware upgrades; we should see some significant improvements with our Official Servers. Our goal is to get these upgrades to you as soon as possible, particularly before our Extra Life weekend, where we expect a lot of player transfer footprint to take place so that our servers and transfers are running as smoothly as possible. We anticipate that the TRANSFER downtime could last up to 24 hours, and this could be simultaneously on PC, Xbox, and PS4 or take place one after the other. We will provide a more specific timeline of when this update will take place per platform early next week. EVO Event: Fear Evolved Survivors on all platforms will be receiving a special Evolution Event perk this weekend! It will be active from Thursday the 22nd of Oct at 4 PM EST until Friday the 6th of Nov at 3 PM EST. All Official Servers across each platform will be undergoing this evolutionary change which includes: 2x Breeding/Maturing/Egg Hatching 2x Harvesting 2x Taming 2x XP Fan Art Ravager by bluedragonark Velonasaur Variant by Nisis Snow Owl by Allomro_395 Inktober 2020: Day 15 by vernhestand Deinonychus by dra Atmosphere May Inn and Uzi by kawarayane Catch you on the flip side! 2. Much more productive day than expected. Got home from work a bit later than expected so while dinner was looking I flew around on my wyvern checking for yuty spawns. Found a few low levels, nothing to write home about...until I got to the back of the wyvern trench and found an event colored 130 running amok precariously close to the edge. Flew home, loaded up my taming trap and supplies and headed back out. It was probably one of the more tense tames I've ever done. If it managed to get out of the trap while torpor running it would fall into the trench. And several wyverns were flying close enough to potentially aggro. So that was fun. Got it home and enjoyed dinner while breeding her as I do have a pair I tamed previously for eggs. The very first egg I popped was almost perfect, missing only melee. But the colors are great and who melees on a yuty anyway so I'm spending my evening raising her. While I do have a nanny, I'm raising her by hand. I like to do that sometimes, I just feel like I get more attached to the dinos I actively raise myself. I use the nanny mostly for mass army raising and for things like wyverns because I'm too lazy to build a trap and go wyvern milking. So that's my entire evening, pretty much. Now, I do know the 130 stats aren't the best, but it's definitely good enough. It helps that i have an ascendant saddle too, which is more than I could say for my poor dead yutys on The Island who had to run all bosses with primitive saddles as I never found one in drops.

  3. I tried to kill a Bone-Rex with my Griffin. It took forever and did bleed damage so I took out my Tex-Rex to finish it: turned out to be a Bone-Giga! Wouldn't have dared it if I'd new that!

  5. so the day of reckoning came. whether it was for me and my deino army or the dodorex. i had tamed a quetzal and spent a few hours building a pen that i could carry my deinos on, the maximum was about 30ish. the plan was i would ride on the queztal which also had some turrets on it, whistle the deinos at the dodorex and they would charge off of the platform and attack. well about 10 minutes later and he is already dead. only a few died in the process and the rest were fairly fine, a few were badly hurt, but other than that we were unscathed. i decided to bring a deadon along on the next battle hoping this might make the deinos less likely to die, i also considered bringing a yuty along but that would have been too much of a hassle. after about 10 more nights of killed the dodorex i figured this was getting too easy, the rate at which i was loosing the deinos was much slower than the rate i could produce them at. i was talking to a friend on discord when he suggested i summon in a few dodorexes at once to battle, it seemed that the least amount of deinos i can use and succeed in a battle against the dodorex was 10, so i figured for every 10 deinos i would spawn in one dodorex. so the battle would be 100 deinos against 10 dodorexes. holy sh*t was it an amazing fight. i used whistle groups to whistle each group onto a different dodorex, the deaths were insane, but somehow my deinos won, granted i had lost much more than i had anticipated. but i won. i kept none of the spoils i got from the dodrexes i had spawned in. but now im wondering what i should fight next. maybe a titan or one of the bosses. on a side note after the announcement of bugs being breedable in the upcoming update, i spent a few hours taming mantis and arthros, hunting for the best stats. i feel like arthros are about to become way more OP than WC had thought they would be.

  6. Well, after about a two month break I'm back in Ark mode with a vengeance. I have to say, sometimes taking a break is more motivating than grinding straight through. I've had a very busy week with a huge amount of progress. I finally got my nanny up and was able to raise my high level lightning wyvern, which I swiftly used to hunt and tame a pair of thylas. Bred them, raised the baby, then went rex hunting. Tamed a pair of those and bred an entire army up. While the army was growing, I got more wyvern eggs, although I only ended up with 1 more good lightning and 1 good poison. Still need a fire. Speaking of fire, I watched a recent taming video from nooblets and went out and tested it myself. Success! I tamed my dream creature, the blue event colored phoenix that I've been watching on the map for ages. The cage and oil jar method worked beautifully. And since that wasn't enough, I also started running caves. I have 6 artifacts and just need to run the ruins of Nosti for 3 of those. Side note I hate rubble golems. I also did a lot of building, finishing the second and third levels of my base, although I still need the roof. And I finished my infrastructure to have all crafting stations I need. Overall, I'm in amazing shape compared to just how long I was stuck on The Island. However, I'm running into two bottlenecks, one of which is a familiar and frustrating problem: rex saddle bp. While I could go back and retrieve my other one, I kind of don't want to, for the same reason I raised an entirely new army instead of importing my super bred rexes: it takes a little too much away from the experience. The other problem is I need a good yuty. I have a pair of them but crap levels, and I am having such a hard time finding new spawns. Carnos are filling up the desert population and constant culling barely puts a dent in them. I also still need a good fire wyvern to make farming the talons easier. I need 32 of each, so it's worth it to keep farming for an egg. All in all though, if I stay super focused and get lucky I could be moving on to Aberration as early as December. Considering it took me an entire year to defeat The Island, this is lightning fast. I know Ab is going to be a challenge but I'm really looking forward to it as I love that map. Can't wait.

  8. Will this only affect character data or also items/dinos? If everything will be affected, will players lose what they have uploaded at that time? If not, will the expiration timers continue ticking? Perhaps adding a note about this upcoming maintenance on the main menu/in-game server browser could be a good idea (if only to reduce the inevitable forums storm that is incoming 😆).

  13. I had lost my character, and because I did not have any photo evidence there was nothing they could do to help. I think it would be a great idea to be able to clone yourself however your character cannot do anything and is purely there as a backup - kind of like putting yourself in a Cryo pod. Then the problem of backing up your character is the responsibility of the player.

  14. Fear Evolved without fun?! Yes, because there is hard to find pumpkins, scarecrows and graves. Good to have colors, good to have ghosts skins, good to have boosted multipliers... BUT WE CANT COOK ANY EVO STUFF
