  1. Suggestion: Please raise the breeding rates as well. Honestly I've got real life stuff and taking a day to raise a giga to 10%, even with the flexibility of cryopods, isn't appealing as a gamer. Sorry to be a nudge, but breeders need love too please

  2. Continue Prim+ as normal, but Add some of the great things from Prim+ to Regular Ark. Like the building materials, equipment, and maybe even let us have the option to build the primitive industrial stuff. The mod has so many great things to make ark more than just survival, (not that that’s not enough) I think we’re long overdue for new items. Including new foods, recipes, drinks, materials, and all sorts of crazy things that regular ark should have.

  3. Hey guys, thanks for your replies and the thumbs up. I did indeed tame up the Carno and while it isn't the greatest fighter - for now it has very low health (like 700ish), it's fun to play around with. I'm taking it out for a walk more or less frequently and try to harvest meat as much as I can. Well, another thing that kicked my butt is Ark mechanics again. Some of you might have read that I've been very very unlucky with flyers so far. Some due to my ignorance or noobidity, but mostly because they just don't do what I think they should do. Right now, I have to revert to an older save-game, loosing some hours of more or less pointless gameplay (camp-management and of course a search-and-rescue mission, since reverting a few hours is always PITA in itself. Why am I so clumsy with flyers? Why can't I handle them or why do they always fly off and get lost? Well, I'm just restarting the server to see if that helps... but I do expect to revert to an older state loosing several hours of gameplay. Very disappointing. Any hints appreciated. Eleusius.

  5. hahahaha. Yes, the black berry. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

  6. Wouldn't it be the black berries? I guess they're a bit purple-ish. Also, although @Eleusius is new, he's by no means helpless, and he's likely done it before. Not to try to be rude, or anything.

  7. My goal, my plan when I started playing about 6 months ago was to play solo for awhile, learn the game basics, and hopefully beat the island map... then move on to play either PVE or PVP. For the most part I have accomplished that. The only thing left for me really is the TEK cave. Over the last couple of days, since defeating the Alpha Dragon, I have been thinking about how hard I want to make this last step. And I realized I just want to move on. Is that wrong? I am getting bored with playing solo. I will do the TEK cave but more for a sense of closure than anything else. I don't want to spend weeks breeding up the perfect army to fight the overseer. So I will use what I have and do the Gamma for now. I can always return and do the harder ones later. I think it would be fun to do the tek cave with a group of people and, if nothing else, doing the gamma solo will give me SOME experience and context for doing it again with new friends. I have 19 rexes with Mastercraft saddles. They all have 50k + health and close to 3000 melee. I will combine them with my 19 therizinos that just defeated the dragon. And I will ride my yuty. I will also wear an otter to help with the extreme temperature changes. That give me a team of 40. I will most like pod half of them until I get inside the gate just to make the entrance easier. Too much or too little for gamma? I don't know... never done it before. I'm just rolling the dice right now. The last two days I have been doing things like gathering stone and running the cave of the clever for chitin...and I have been using that to make cementing paste.... and farming obsidian to combine with the paste to make polymer... and now I just need a little more for a complete tek armor set. Although, I think I will just take my ascendant sets of flak, ghillie, and fur instead. I don't know if primitive tek armor would be better or not. I am going to make it and see how I like it before I decide. Anyway, my plan is to run the cave in a few days. Take a short vacation. Then start anew with the challenges of group play. I look forward to learning how to survive all over again and finally explore different maps.

  8. Eleusius, there is nothing wrong with practicing and educating yourself, especially in the early-game stages. I would encourage you to tame it. Who cares if it is low level right now? Sure, a seasoned veteran would most likely kill it and not think twice about it. However, I think it is an great way to practice taming. Later, when a high level one walks into your neighborhood you will know what it takes and have the confidence to do what you have to do. So, I say, tame it up. Just use some raw meat since you probably don't have kibble, mutton, or prime yet. Force feed it purple berries to keep the torpor up and you are golden. Add a few levels and it will help you defend your base against a sarco or therizino that wanders too close. When you get a saddle and need meat you can ride along the beaches and harvest all the little piggies. You won't go hungry if you own a carno and live on the beach. Have fun.

  9. Hi @Eleusius! Carnos are basically early-game rexes. Many people didn't like them, since once you got a rex, they became useless. However, they recently got a bleed, so now you can slowly drain an enemy's health. Righ-click (or left trigger on console), wait ten seconds, and the target will have lost 5% of its health. That doesn't seem like much, but if you can do this and get away each time, you can kill even the toughest things in twenty bites (or less, if the regular bite damage is enough to kill it).

  11. Hey all, didn't play much (as opposed to my intention), so I have only a small episode to report today. Anyways - this game never fails to surprise me. Read on As foretold, I crafted the saddle for my Ptera and set out to finish my taming pen. I parked the Ptera on a larger stone nearby and went on to harvesting other stones for resources. Only Herbies around, so I thought I'd be safe and the Ptera hopefully unreachable anyways. In case of trouble I could always try to withdraw into the mostly ready pen or fly off. Among the herbies around was also a Therezino, albeit low-level (just 20), but those guys are so cool I was already aiming at luring it into my pen once it was finished. And being a herbie, it's easy to maintain (yes, meat is still an issue, though not that much... but I don't want to farm dinos for meat - at least not yet). So I was building on my Pen when I noticed the Therezino went aggro on my Ptera and had actually managed to climb the stone I had set it on. I tried to draw it's attention to me, since I was in a good position on my taming pen such that I might even be able to lure it in despite the ramp not being full width. Unfortunately it just ignored my arrows and focused on my Ptera. That scared the poop out of me. I had worked so hard to get a flyer and now it was fighting one of the most dangerous creatures I knew ... around my base at least. And also whistling didn't make it stop fighting. I just wanted it to be safe and fly out of trouble, but it just didn't do. No way to move into close range combat without proper armor with this guy, so I just kept firing a few bolts from the unfinished ramp/stairs of my pen. Then, suddenly - just after my last shot, the Therezino went down. I was baffled. Moving in, I found that the creature was dead, not unconscious, but I couldn't help to congratulate my Ptera on this deed. Arguably being just a little above lvl 100 is a big difference (more than 5 times the level), but still the Therezino is an opponent to be feared. I was very happy to find my Ptera alive and almost well. The meat from the Therezino would do all the healing needed and more. So we went on harvesting the corpse and I continued to finish my ramp/stairs. That was looking very promising. Hopefully I'll find another Therezino some time soon. I also killed a Phiomia while riding my Ptera - and yes, I admit I was not going by my own rules, since that kill was a pure harvest. But inspired by the fighting capabilities of my Ptera I wanted to find out more of it's abilities and practice. Of course, the Phiomia was not an opponent at all, since those guys don't fight back. But the meat was appreciated (that Ptera is really really hungry) and the practice necessary. While harvesting the corpse, two stupid dilos came around to snatch our meal. Well, I decided to take them on from flight rather than ground and thus let them have a bite in order to take off. They were very fast with the rest of the Phiomia - I didn't get another byte. But then, I (umm... sorry, the Ptera) was soon munching on two Dilos. I think that's an equal trade. Another little bit of this Episode shows how bad I am in handling flyers. I still don't know what happened here, but after I was finished with the Dilos and wanted to resume my work on the pen, the Ptera took flight and went off. I was shocked - please not another flyer lost to nowhere. I was having Deja-Vu's there and then. And it's been such a promising guy. I ran after it. It was for some reason flying straight to my base. I haven't seen any "go home" command, yet, though I had been searching for some. Would be nice if the "lost" Dinos would eventually decide to go home on their own and hopefully - if they're making the way - arrive there safely eventually. Would make for a few nice surprises, really :). Ok... so the Ptera took flight towards my base and I was running after it, whistling like crazy. Nothing worked. Then, when above the middle of my base, it just stopped. No reason whatsoever. So I eventually caught up and whistled it to land. Now it was obeying. Maybe it was just homesick? Anyways - you probably can imagine how much of a relief it was to get that creature back. I know I'll eventually get better ones - especially when I get around to an Argy, I'll probably ignore the Ptera for most of the rest of the game. But now, it's probably my second most valuable creature, counting my Unicorn at number one - not for usability, but for rarity. Soon later, the taming pen was finished. Also there was a Carno in the area that started to show some interest in me and my Ptera. When I signed off, he was dozing off in my taming pen and I'm wondering if I'd just kill it or keep it. It'll require a whole lot of meat to maintain and it's just low-level, so I really don't know what to do about that guy. Are Carnos cool tames? I haven't heard much talk about them (as opposed to many other creatures). It seems most survivors just consider them either victims or leave them be for other reasons. Well, I'll have to make up my mind and hopefully when I sign on next time, it'll still be in my taming pen (remember: It's my own server and it is NOT running atm, so things are frozen). Well, that sums it up for today. Have a nice sunday and a good start into the week. Eleusius.

  12. I believe if your going to make rates 2xs then ALL should be 2xs. Meaning breeding/maturation as well. I don't think that's asking too much. I'm not asking to be more than that because that's what we have the Life Event for. But 2xs everything besides breeding/maturation just makes it unbalanced. This is my opinion.

  13. Agreed, we need increased breeding rates too. It's such a waste of time to the point of making the game less appealing. Less idling around for hours and days at a time near babies = more actual fun. PS: There was some talk in an older community crunch regarding an overhaul to the breeding system. Any news on that?

  15. So I just attempted the lava cave for the first time with my brand new saber. I wish I had practised killing stuff with it before - cause we got totally s*** rocked by the very first onycs. I wasn’t used to shooting from a riding position ( I usually use flyers) and couldn’t get out of the seated weapon view (Xbox). Lost my saber, otter and all my stuff due to my own stupitidy. Such a hard pill to swallow! Tried to go back for my gear and the saddle but I died again and decided to abandon. im on a mission, though, and I’ll be back with my better dire wolf and better weapons.

  16. I used HLNA teleport from INSIDE MY BASE DILO, now ALL MY DINOES and me are OUTSIDE somewhere, so scary, how do I cancel teleportation after using it ??? just in case there's next time. Geez, and I just started building my farms, if my dung beetle died it would be hard to get another one coz it's kinda rare to have it spawned near my base. I immediately exit the game, I hope they will be ok in 10 minutes until offline protection active, I'll deal with it later. Damn, mistake after mistake every damn day. -UPDATE- Ok, all my tames ARE DEAD because of this teleportation accident !! Since my base is located in bog SE, I teleported back to bog SE and it's actually quite near to my base, but Ark has 1001 ways to fk us sideways so no surprise, the moment I started to walk, one kapro appeared, all my tames managed to kill it, but the AI was so stupid I set them all to NEUTRAL, but they seemed to start attacking any nearby creature and Sarco kapro and barry ran so damn fast in water to the point they angered a paracer and a stego. This paracer single handedly butchered all my tames. I think I have to tame one, this guy seems king of the bog than all those reptiles. But I'm cool with all my tames being dead now, I'm not getting too attached to pixels, I take it as everyday life in ARK now But here's the thing, to prove my claim that SARCO AI IS SO DAMN STUPID. There's ONE creature that came out alive from this accident, DUNG BEETLE ! Because it walked slow, and got ambushed by a sarco lv 50 on the way, and WON. See how buggy a Sarco is ? even a wild sarco can't beat a dung beetle, because of aim problem. I hope they will fix Sarco's weakness. This is authentic proof the devs need to know. SARCO IS SHI1T, sorry for the language but it is. SARCO LV 50 dead vs a dung beetle lol, no more proof is needed. Even if it is a high lv, 210, the base damage is only 5 it has 248.6% melee dmg, so dmg output is 12.43, compared to a sarco with base dmg 35. Here's a proof, dung beetle with only 12.43 total dmg output killing a lv 50 Sarco with base dmg 35. What does that tell you, SARCO IS A BUGGY DINO that deserves a 2nd TLC.

  17. Lost everything today I lose the will to play, all dinoes dead because of stupid AI. So I was walking around with my lv 60 beelzebufo, saw a lv 140 raptor, I had my Sarco guarding outside of base on neutral, it engaged and fought, I dismounted beelzebufo tried to mount sarco, trying to hit this 140 raptor but raptor kept hitting beelzebufo and it died, now raptor engaged to sarco, trying to aim it but it kept charging onto my sarco's body , got hurt 1/2hp and ran away to water to lure it away, to my surprise raptor kept chasing, and my croc couldnt outspeed it unless the water was deep enough to let my sarco swim faster, so I tried to attack but fail, I dismounted to let the AI fight for me, no it couldnt, so I mounted sarco again and escaped back to my base, managed to go thru deeper water so my croc can outspeed raptor and I ran back to base, luckily my base has a hidden space to hide behind the wall, so I dissmounted and gpt on my barryonyx lv 175 to kill the lv 140 raptor. Succeeded and then go home. A few moment had passed, I went to fish with barryonyx lv 175, got ambushed by a barryonyx 50 and raptor 90, I got lagged and suddenly dismounted, and I tried to mount but I couldn't coz of the server freeze, so my barry was fighting this 50 barry and 90 raptor, wild barryonyx lv 50 died, then I also died, so spawned back at base, mounted my sarco now already healed to around half hp, so i ran back to save my barryonyx, my barryonyx seemed to have a hard time killing this raptor 90, I saw my barry kept being charged on its back couldnt fight back until it died. Then a kapro appeared out of nowhere attacking me on my sarco and knocked me off mount till I die then I respawned, BUT BLACKSCREEN HAPPENED. I tried a few minutes trying to log back in, after I was in, I rushed back to my sarco on foot, I saw it's circling around fighting something, I ignored it and tried to get my stuffs back, then I saw a message my sarco got killed by kapro lv 25. Those were supposed to be strongest dinoes/carnivores in the swamp, and they're tamed from high level wild, wild barry 150 tamed 159 leveled to 175 and wild sarco 140 tamed 179 leveled to 189. ALL DEAD, barryonyx was killed by supposed to be weak AND SMALL TYPE DINO, A RAPTOR !! and not too high level only lv 90, the other one sarco was killed by a kapro with LOW LEVEL ONLY 25. Why do they love Raptor so damn much and making it too op, before that, the pounding attack was too op even more op than even a rex because it targets the rider, now its kinda nerfed i never been pounded by raptor that often, but the way it attacks its charging way too fast like a bull on steroid, and sarco, the AI is too stupid it's so hard to aim with sarco on manual I almost dead the other day fighting a titanomyrma or whatever its called, the ant type dino, got tired and hard to aim this ants. the ground one I can kill them ez while moving backward, but the flying one is really hard to aim. Sarco AI even had a hard time killing a low lv kapro only lv 25, it kept on circling it unable to attack. Some screenshots this is when my sarco was almost dead vs a 140 raptor Sarco lv 189 got killed by a kapro low level 25, LOL, coz of stupid AI, i saw it keep turning in place probably cannot hit the kapro. This is nightmare screen, when game freezes in black screen after clicking respawn. I tamed them yesterday tho, both at once. Barry 150 got stucked in my ramp. -edit- Sept 2, 2020 Now i know why I got dismounted suddenly, coz baryonyx can stun, damn I killed lots of it and only found out now I wont engage bary so casually now.
