  1. Can you please increase the hypo and hyper protection on tek gear? No reason to be in the sulfur fields and still be burning to death in end game gear. Whereas I can go there in desert gear and have the small flame.

  2. Download in full resolution An Update on G enesis Part 2 As we gear-up for the epic conclusion of ARK: Survival Evolved’s storyline with ARK: Genesis Part 2, we’re checking in with the community on its progress. Near the beginning of this year, the studio transitioned to working remotely. While the development of Genesis Part 2 has been ongoing throughout, and significant progress has been made, going from a highly collaborative in-office workflow to remote comes with specific challenges. Upon further evaluation, we now have a better sense of the production timeline for Genesis Part 2. The new locked-in release date is now March 2021 simultaneously on all platforms. We understand that you are eager to get into it, and this news is disappointing; however, we are passionate about delivering something genuinely special, memorable, and suitably epic. This additional time allows us to ensure a better and unique experience and is well worth the investment. We’ll be showing an extensive first-look at Genesis Part 2 later this year, revealing more details about completing your quest for ultimate survival; the forthcoming preview will reveal some of the new creatures, items, locations, features, and more! We do however have other significant updates locked-&-loaded for this year! Just over the horizon, you can look forward to: ‘The Crystal Isles’ Free DLC on console: This includes the map in its entirety as well as three new tamable and breedable Crystal Wyverns. We are planning to release this significant update during the last week of August 2020. Tender Love and Care Pass 3: This patch will overhaul two classic creatures with a new makeover containing updated models, animations, visuals, and new gameplay functionality for them. We'll also be doing further general quality of life, balance, and gameplay changes to the core-game in this update. Our much anticipated TLC 3 pass is planned for a simultaneous release on all platforms in October 2020! More on that a little later On behalf of the broader Wildcard team, we want to thank you for your ongoing support. We are continuously humbled and appreciative of the community’s creativity, passion, dedication! We're looking forward to sharing ARK’s next chapter with you and a very exciting 2020 & 2021! Studio Wildcard Upcoming Balance Pass We’ve spoken a lot about what players can look forward to in the future for ARK, now let’s talk about the present! This Thursday, July 30th, we’ll be releasing a minor version update on PC, Xbox, and PS4 which will contain a number of quality of life and balance changes. Here’s some of what you can expect to get your hands on. We'll share the full set of notes on patch day: Creatures Basilosaurus - Increased deep-sea-depth value at which damage taken by approximately 30% Bloodstalker - Reduced armour penetration by approximately 35% - Reduced durability damage by 50% Carno - Added 30% armour penetration to the Left Click attack - Added a Bleed effect to the right click attack which does up to 5% of targets health over 10 seconds, cannot be stacked but the timer can be reset. Carbonemys - Increased resistance to TEK Turrets by 10% Dunkleosteus - Reduced weight of Obsidian in inventory by approximately 75% - Reduced weight of metal, stone, crystal, and black pearls by approximately 50% - Increased swim speed by approximately 20% Liopleurodon - Increased buff timer from 30 minutes to 6 hours Megachelon - Reduced Shell Resistance by 30% (from 80% to 50%) - Reduced Health Per Level gains by approximately 15% Paracer - Reduced Health Per Level gains by approximately 15% Breeding - Reduced Mosasaur maturation time (now matches Yutyrannus) - Reduced Basilosaurus maturation time (now matches Gacha) - Reduced Tusoteuthis maturation time (now matches Yutyrannus) - Reduced Plesiosaur maturation time (now matches Gacha) - Reduced Compy maturation time (now matches Otter) - Reduced Equus maturation time (now matches Procoptodon) - Reduced Quetzal maturation time to approximately 5 and a half days - Reduced Phiomia maturation time (now matches Ovis) - Reduced Ichthyosaurus maturation time (now matches Roll Rat) - Reduced Dunkleosteus maturation time (now matches Mammoth) - Reduced Jerboa maturation time (now matches Otter) - Increased Rhino maturation time (now matches Doedicurus) General - Flying creatures will prioritise picking up friendly-creatures rather than dismounting friendly riders - Baby Creatures will no longer auto-wander when hatched - Mounting a flying creature will no longer instantly cause it to take off - Cryopods in a player’s inventory will now charge if a player is sleeping in a TEK Pod. - TEK Helm will now provide players with the Gas Mask bonus, protecting them from the Poison Wyvern and Basilisk spit. - TEK Turrets now require double the amount of shards per bullet - Metal Ingot stack size has been increased to 300 - Raw Metal stack size has been increased to 300 - Spoil time on Lesser Antidote has been increased to 3 days - Spoil time on Prime Meat and Prime Fish have doubled - Gasbags will no longer push Dinos around in PVE when landing to prevent griefing and exploits - HLNA and Chibi Creatures no longer disable the protection against Bees buff. - Yell and Whisper can now switch between the following modifier keys on PC: Left Shift, Left Ctrl, and Left Alt - Added an additional 15 seconds to all race missions on Xbox and PS4 - Added Event Emotes to the Hex Store at the cost of 50,000 hexagons - Boss Fight timer on Valguero has increased from 20 minutes to 30 minutes. - We are also adding a configurable GameUserSettings.ini which allows server hosts to limit the amount of gateways that can be placed on platform saddles. This configuration is not retroactive, so applying this change will require some manual administration work to clear up any pre-existing platforms that exceed the limit. MaxGateFrameOnSaddles=2 We’ll be enabling this on our Official PvP Network and setting the limit to 2, on all platforms. Official PvP players will have approximately 30 days to adjust their current existing platforms to remove any that exceed the gateway limit. Official Rates We’ve heard you loud and clear! Since March, our Official Networks across those 3 platforms have been under the effect of an Evolution Event as these increased rates have now become the norm and we are happy with the results, it’s time to make it a permanent change! Going forward, we'll be doubling the fun by doubling the Official Rates across PC, Xbox and PS4 as standard, along with some changes to our specialty servers. From the next major version, Official Server rates will now have increased default rates for Harvesting, Taming, and XP. What was previously ‘2x rates’ prior to today, will now become the new base rate (1x). The increased 2x rates will be implemented directly in the game build itself. This means that Non-Dedicated Servers, Single Player Sessions and of course Unofficial Servers will also feel the increased rates. Therefore, if you’re currently using customized rates, it’s something you will want to keep in mind before this change is in place -- specifically upon the release of the next Major Version on each of your respective platforms, you may wish to reduce your server/game rates by 50% to have the same effective values as before. Official rates will be adjusted accordingly: Standard Official Servers: 1x harvesting, taming, and XP (which is equivalent to 2x when considering our old values) Small Tribes Servers: Smalls will have their taming, harvesting, and XP changed to 2.5x (which is equivalent to 5x when considering our old values) Apocalypse Servers: These will remain at 3x harvesting, taming, and XP (which is equivalent to 6x when considering our old values) P.S -- This is actually the second time we’ve increased the default rates if we look back to the early access days of 2015. So for you old timeys, it’s technically 4x ?. Inb4 comments ‘back in my day, it took us two weeks to build a wooden 4x4’. EVO Event As mentioned above, the Official Network rates will be increasing to 2X following the next major version update. Following the update, we'll have more information on EVO events. Until then, we'll be using the EVO event system to apply the bonuses. 5. please either increase the number of overall combined tames allowed on a server at a time or LOWER the number of tames all players can have active in world at the same time. 500 tames per person / tribe is a little ridiculous. we have cryopods, its about time to make use of them rather than have hundreds of non-breedable vanity dinos clogging up servers. ((talking specifically about the people who have every single fire / lightening / poison / ice wyvern they have ever tamed just sitting around collecting dust for MONTHS! why do they need to be sitting around using up server resources and lagging everyone else?))

  6. @StudioWildcard All pretty nice changes its a shame breeding didn't become x2 the new normal as well, its a pain in the butt as it is. Giga raising is the bane of any official server Nice to see that most of the changes are for the better, but whats the point in cryo recharge when in tek sleeping pod, I mean who sleeps with cryos in their inventory especially if they have ur prized dino in them. U guys kinda missed allow transmitter to summon bosses at least on PVE, we was looking forward to that switch being turned back on its already implemented from the past, turn it back on plz for crying out loud, we are sick and tired of waiting for people to move tames from the obelisk or we remove for them which is our last resort, the last resort is always the only option to remove them tames blocking. Other than that all happy ish

  7. Breeding should be address.. almost 2 days to breed Snow Owls or any other dinos. Thats crazy and takes the fun out of breeding anything. Might as well buy dinos off of other people. Also, should address all the Lag on 90% of the servers. This lag makes the game almost unplayable at times. I've even had a GM comment on how bad the server lag was, and they were only there for 5 mins.

  11. Hey Survivors, We’ve got some exciting news we’d like to share with you! As of today, we will be transitioning the ARK’s harvesting, EXP, and taming rates to 2x permanently. This is a decision we’ve made after experimenting with the game’s rates for quite some time. You may have noticed in the last few weeks the Evolution Events have gotten longer, this has allowed us to get a better feel for how it would play out in a permanent live experience. We have consistently received a lot of feedback from you, and it was very evident that players preferred the increased rates. Thusly, the rates will stay at 2x permanently from now onwards on our Official Servers. Evo Event Weekends will consequently be increased to 3x rates. Furthermore, in the next major version releases, the 2x rates will be implemented directly in the game build itself. We appreciate all the response you guys have provided to us regarding our Evolution Events and are looking forward to running more exploring new features with you in the upcoming future. All the best, Wildcard Jat and the ARK: Survival Evolved Team View full article

  12. Which makes it boring! This won't win me any friends but; they should make Mantas the "Dimorphs" of the sea and make them target riders. I think this could bring some challenging aspects of being in the sea regardless of the mount you have on both PvP and PvE. Imagine a pack of Mantas breaking your scuba tank before you have time to react. ?

  16. Really excited about a lot of these QoL changes!!! Especially baby wander and auto-fly upon mounting... Also some awesome maturation reductions. I haven't paid for Genesis yet... But I know I will eventually. Super duper excited about Crystal Isles on console just after my birthday ? Keep up the work guys. I know it must be hard to do what you do in a remote setting... And i know we give you guys a lot of poop... But you all are obviously trying to make the game better for us. And because I have to mention for all of my friends out there... Lag... Please please please try your hardest to figure out the lag. With the new update... Go through the code. Stop layering code on top of code on top of code. Clean it up so it runs smoothly. This is a game I could play for years and year... And one that many people already have. Please... Try to fix it!! And TEST it before you put it out. Lots of love and support, Brizzyne (Rae)

  17. 2x harvesting and xp wasnt even needed, the time we have to spend raising our dino's is insane who wants to spend 12 days raising a giga for it to die in 10 mins. get ur heads out of ur asses fix the exploits and then do balance changes

  20. Still today, but in separate comment because very exciting: I found a male giga and managed to knock him out! Soon he'll be mine (if antimesh doesn't kill him, because he's in the rocks, so might happen. But I'll try to pod him right away to avoid it). Tamed! And he's alive. Level 142 (wild 95), 17720 health, 125% melee, stamina suck but far as I know, stamina of gigas always sucks unless they have a lot of mutations on it. Brought him home, named him Diablo (might rename to Green Devil, not sure yet), bred him to Elisabeth, hope the baby gets his stats and her colors. ... So, that's how things went with Diablo: when I found him, he wasn't stuck. Not even a tiny bit. Running free as a raging wind. Yet I really wanted to get a mate for Elisabeth, so back to my base I went. Two woodruns with a therizino, two metal runs, three narcoberry ones, and a retrieval of all the spoiled meat from troughs and inventories, I had about 160 tranq darts and was ready for the next step: biotoxin run. Naturally, I used my pelagornis. The hunt wasn't very interesting, almost no risk. By the end of it I had 4 full stacks plus a bit more. Back to the base, and I made the shock darts. 145 of them. Retrieved my trusty 209.4 longneck (this time it was in the industrial cooker. I tend to sometimes leave valuables in whatever container happens to be the closest), unpodded Rose, gave her four Quetz cakes (100 stimberries and 1 element dust, just because) and 30 basic kibble, grabbed the kibble I'll need for taming as well as 12 stacks of narcotics (yes, it's an overkill. Yes, I already know FROM EXPERIENCE that it's an overkill. But I would be very nervous without a ton of narcotics on hand while taming a giga), and back to the giga we (me and Rose) went! First I wasted a few (no more than ten) darts because it sometimes looked like he got stuck, but then he got free. Then Rose needed a stam landing (or a cake, but I didn't want to use it just yet) so I headed to some player's base for that. Then my game froze so badly, that killing it in the task manager and logging in anew was the only choice. Miraculously, me and Rose were fine, within the borders of that exact base, and I didn't doubt a second before expressing my joy in the global chat, in rather crude terms. That was met with concern (and possible hope for a giga heart) from another player, and I made a promise to share the coords if I ran out of darts before the beast falls asleep (but I didn't have to because as you already know, everything went fine). I hopped back onto Rose's back and went lo look for the giga again. He was between the Lake and the Aberration cave, a dangerous place for he could easily drown, so all I could do was watch him wandering, killing everything in his path. But then... He walked into the cave's entrance. And stopped. Yes, indeed, he was well and truly stuck. It took me several attempts to get Rose into the proper position, as I didn't know how close I can go without being dismounted (I haven't checked if I could still stand on the wyvern's back while force-dismounted by the Aberration cave, and between the giga in front of me and the jellyfishes possibly under me it wasn't exactly the great time to check), and often I ended up too far to left or right, or too high to hit the giganotosaurus, but in the end I found just the right position and just the right angle, and all I had to to was dismount, turn towards the giga (and Rose's tail) and shoot. When he fell, I still had 44 darts left, not counting the one still loaded into the rifle. For a giga taming without artificial traps AND without the giga being stuck from the very beginning, it went perfectly fine.

  21. Sorry, I misunderstood I think. I have not seen a titanosaur for awhile and I guess it was just a case of out-of-sight, out-of-mind. I have not disabled them. And I have only fought one... I was on a rex and tried to bite a saber that ran too close to the titanosaur… bit the wrong one by accident and it did not end well. I don't have a giga either. I have not found one spawn above a level 10 yet and have not been enticed to commit the effort for a small one. I have dino-wiped a few times but still get same results. Both of them are on my list of things to do but have not been a priority at this point. Thanks for the clarification and the point made on pego. I am still learning every day.

  25. This weekend, I’ve been on a mission to tame, harvest or craft anything I need to start trying the boss fights. Now I see why silica pearls and obsidian are so important ? I finally tamed an otter for carrying artifacts!!I didn’t realize how small they were in the water so I spent a lot of time hovering way too high above the water to see them. I must’ve flown over lots of them without knowing. When I did finally see one (also my first time seeing one in the game), I just plucked it out of the water with my argy and flew it back to my hidden lake base to tame it there safely. I also set up a crafting station on top of the volcano and got my first theri so I can start making the right kibble for my next tames. oh, I got a baryonyx too! I’m basically approaching my end game time just like how Syntac does in his series about the island. I’m using it like a guide. My goal is to get to SE the “proper” way. Doing all of this on single player is a bit of a challenge, I’m not gonna lie. That and I’m not the worlds greatest gamer, I have the difficulty turned down but I still die all the time. #bunkbeds

  26. Today: took Elisabeth on a murderwander through the redwoods, got her that last melee point, she still has 22 more levels to gain which, as I said before, will be spread between health, stam, and possibly weight. Also, learned that it is possible to be thylacoleo'd off a giga. By getting thylacoleo'd off Elisabeth's back. Fortunately, I had no problem retrieving my stuff using my least favorite wyvern, and Elisabeth dealt with the thyla just fine on her own while I was getting back to her. Won't take her to the redwoods anymore, though. Too much hassle to get to, and too many things (1 whole species, yes, that's too many) that can hurt me despite me riding such a huge and fearsome beast. Froze some dinos I'm not riding/breeding at the moment (2 theries, both quetz females, 1 diplo, 3 moschops, 1 ankylo. That leaves me with 45 dinos non-cryoed, not counting the baby tek rex). The rest of the day will be spent raising one of the 9900 health tek rexes from yesterday.

  27. I didn't get to play as much as I wanted this weekend. But I did hatch and imprint a couple Therizinos. Took one out for levelling in the Island SE corner since I hadn't been down there in awhile and figured it would be loaded with dinos.... And I was right. I found an explorer note to boost XP and ran around like a crazy animal. Found a couple alpha carnos and a couple mid level rexes to go with the slaughter and happily discovered I went up 27 levels when the timer expired. Took the other Therizino into the redwoods and had something new happen. I was running around and saw one of those little dudes that is always trying to steal your stuff (pegomestax, or something like that), anyway, he jumped at me and I took a swing at him. Then the game paused and asked me to name my newly tamed pegomestax. How the heck did that happen? Anyhoo, I am not sure what I will do with him. For now he is just sitting off the back corner of my base. I have always hated those things and not all that sure we can be friends at this point. If he tells his family to give back all my stuff they have taken, then maybe we can work something out. Until then, he can sit in the corner next to the compost bin. I also spent some time doing metal runs and gathering up more resources for saddles. built 3 more ascendant Therizino saddles and 1 mastercraft rex saddle. I now have 17 imprinted and leveled rexes with saddles, and 9 Therizinos (mostly leveled) with saddles. I'm not taking the rexes back to face the dragon though. That was a bad day. They will be used later in the tek cave. I took a few trips through the frozen north to look for a high level Yuti to replace my good friend, Colonel Mustard. He, like the rest of my crew, died on the field of battle in a crushing defeat to the alpha dragon. RIP Colonel. We will have our revenge!!! Our day is coming, my friend.

  28. Today was a long and productive day! I: Rode around on my giga, leveling her up (just need one more point to hit 100% melee, and the rest will go into health, stam, and maybe a bit of weight, poor girl encumbers easily). Even killed a level 20 rock elemental with her, I didn't really believe that it's an easy thing that can be done with just a tamed giga (I was prepared to turn tail and use up all of her stamina to escape if things went wrong), but it really WAS easy and she was barely even hurt despite wearing basic 25 armor saddle, and it was when her melee was only around 80%, so if were to do it now it would be even easier! Hatched 10 tek rex eggs, one egg hatched male triplets with a third health mutation (that's 9900 health!)! I'll raise one and keep others frozen first in case I fail to raise one, and then to maybe trade them for something. Traded! That's the second time I've ever done it, went fine. Filled up the box where I keep electronics (I get them solely from hunting tek dinos and grinding stuff, and I prefer not to throw things out unless they're really common, like hide), gave away the entire contents of it so that I can keep putting electronics in there. Started to expand my base. Not much, just extended the wall, like, 10 foundations (checked. Actually more -16 or seventeen) from the former border. Just so that it no longer feels cramped (by cramped I meas I suddenly realized that it's about 2 gigas wide. It became noticeable due to my giga Elisabeth being there)

  29. Constructive criticisms is fine, but what you have put is not. If you don't find it useful, then don't use it. Yes it may take time to load and i'm sure if/when it can be improved it will be. Regardless it's still extremely useful getting visibility of our map saves.

  30. Looked further into this just now, and the only check the game is doing to determine whether a dino is tamed or not is the following: bool IsDinoTamed(APrimalDinoCharacter *pDino) { return pDino->TargetingTeam >= 50000; }

  31. they did they said rates we have had will now be normal aka 2x breeding is now 1x breeding so normally it would have being 14 days for a giga now it will be 7 days

  32. They are making the 2x standard to the game. Meaning EVERYTHING gets the 2x rates.
