This makes as much sense as asking the owner of a restaurant to sell his business because you don't like the food... normal people would simply not return, letting others that does enjoy themselves.

I was told to build a water pen... sooo... I built a pen, with a building on it for my mate to use … small gateway at the back of the pen, large gateway at the front, so any dino can be taken in or out. Unpodded my mates tuso in the main pen so I could see if it would, and no issues there with the walk way across the top. Tried to make the building match his other one far as looks. Built on a Official PvE server.

nono we like the food, but we do not like the waiters and waitress and the boss how they server it to us and sometimes like evererytime we find a hair in our food.

so.... if im reading this right.... because the OP can't resist the temptation of transfering dino's in to genesis... they feel transfers shouldn't be allowed?

Ahahahaha. Gigas will autoenrage on the 3rd or 4th hit from any alpha hunt bar the megaloceros and kill you. They are highly unsuitable for most if not all alpha missions unless carefully managed. Yes they may decimate the gamma/beta fights, but its not like tribes endgame cant the do same anyway.

Greetings Survivors! In this edition of the Community Crunch, we’ll cover the details of opening Genesis Transfers on our Official Networks, the Dupe Protection System, Meshing detection, Third-party software, hardware upgrades for our servers, player dedicated servers for console, Mac, Linux, and we’ll touch on what we’ve been working on recently along with an overview of our focuses over the coming weeks. Before we dive into that, we’ll take a brief pause to acknowledge these unprecedented times for all of us - our team, our players, our families, and yours - things are tough right now and we could all use some support and camaraderie. Now, more than ever, activities like gaming allow us to stay connected and engaged with our community, particularly for those of us practicing social distancing, often in isolation. As a small gesture of appreciation for our extended ARK family, we will be continuing to run 2x rates for the foreseeable future. As we continue navigating our way through these extraordinary and challenging times together, our heartfelt thoughts are with all of you. Stay safe Survivors! Genesis & New Official Servers Transfers We’ll be opening full transfer of items and dinos into Genesis on May 15th, 2020 with two notes. The first note is that Extinction Titans will be restricted from transferring and the second is that Managarmr will be marked as unrideable. In the case of the latter, this decision was made in relation to their close-to-flyer status and their ability to dash through certain missions. We have opted to allow Gigas as they serve as a counter to tanking dinos, and Rockdrakes, as they bring some utility whilst being less mobile than Manas. New Server Transfers These were the latest servers added in tandem with our free weekend. Similarly to Genesis One servers, on May the 15th, they’ll also have their transfers enabled: EU-PVE-Official-TheIsland705 EU-PVE-Official-TheCenter706 EU-PVP-Official-TheIsland707 EU-PVP-Official-TheCenter708 EU-PVE-Official-Ragnarok709 EU-PVP-Official-Ragnarok710 EU-PVP-Official-Valguero711 EU-PVP-Official-TheIsland712 EU-PVE-Official-Valguero713 EU-PVP-Official-TheCenter714 EU-PVP-Official-Ragnarok715 EU-PVP-Official-Valguero716 NA-PVE-Official-TheIsland717 NA-PVE-Official-TheCenter718 NA-PVP-Official-TheIsland719 NA-PVP-Official-TheCenter720 NA-PVE-Official-Ragnarok721 NA-PVP-Official-Ragnarok722 NA-PVP-Official-Valguero723 NA-PVP-Official-TheIsland724 NA-PVE-Official-Valguero725 NA-PVP-Official-TheCenter726 NA-PVP-Official-Ragnarok727 NA-PVP-Official-Valguero728 Server Upgrades We’ve also been recently working on upgrading the last of our servers to new hardware. A lot has already taken place across all platforms, these were our most recent that took place over the last week: PC EU-PVE-Official-Aberration222 NA-PVE-Official-TheIsland339 NA-PVE-Official-Extinction502 EU-PVE-Official-Valguero526 EU-PVE-Official-TheIsland198 EU-PVE-Official-TheIsland43 EU-PVP-Official-Ragnarok189 EU-PVE-Official-Ragnarok397 LEGACY-The-EU-PVE-OfficialServer262 (on Nitrado) EU-PVP-Official-TheIsland333 EU-PVE-Official-TheIsland343 EU-PVE-Official-TheCenter349 LEGACY-The-EU-PVE-OfficialServer272 (on Nitrado) EU-PVE-Official-TheIsland346 EU-PVE-Official-TheIsland347 EU-PVE-Official-TheIsland344 EU-PVE-Official-TheIsland395 EU-PVE-Official-TheCenter396 LEGACY-The-EU-PVE-OfficialServer263 (on Nitrado) EU-PVE-Official-Valguero523 EU-PVE-Official-Valguero525 LEGACY-The-EU-PVE-OfficialServer265 (on Nitrado) LEGACY-EU-PVE-TheCenter633 EU-PVE-Official-Ragnarok389 LEGACY-The-EU-PVE-Isolated-Ragnarok60 EU-PVE-Official-TheIsland78 EU-PVE-Official-GenOne661 EU-PVE-Official-GenOne662 EU-PVE-Official-GenOne663 LEGACY-The-EU-PVE-Ragnarok59 EU-PVE-Official-TheIsland705 EU-PVE-Official-TheCenter706 EU-PVP-Official-TheIsland707 EU-PVP-Official-TheCenter708 EU-PVE-Official-Valguero518 EU-PVE-Official-Valguero519 OC-PVE-Official-Ragnarok208 NA-PVE-Official-Ragnarok383 EU-PVE-Official-Valguero516 PS4 Asia-PVP-PS4Official-TheIsland557 Asia-PVE-PS4Official-Valguero1116 Asia-PVE-PS4Official-Valguero1117 Xbox NA-PVE-CrossPlayOfficial-Valguero1169 Mac & Linux Late last week we were able to push out fixes for both the Mac and Linux versions of the game, which should allow those clients to play on the latest servers, with all the latest content. We appreciate your patience and will be working on improving our pipeline to get these out to you in a quicker and more stable state. Player Dedicated Servers We’re still in the process of iterating on getting Player Dedicated Genesis Servers working on the standard Xbox, PS4 and PS4 Pro. The reason it’s taking longer than expected is due to the fact that Genesis introduced a lot of new underlying systems to ARK, primarily related to the Mission System. This led to an increase in how much memory is required to host a Genesis server. Currently, our engineers are working on optimizing the server so that they’re less intensive on memory usage to see if we can get them under the necessary threshold to allow the other consoles to host them too. It’s on an ongoing process and we’ll keep you updated as we get further along. Live Game Over the past couple of months, we’ve shifted our primary focus for our regular patches between balance/quality of life and bugs/exploits. The past few weeks have been primarily dedicated to bugs and exploits in this regard. We’ve also been working on various crash fixes. We plan to pivot back to further balance and QoL improvements soon, including a pass on breeding to improve player’s experience and further tweaks to mission rewards and crates on Genesis. Anti-Cheat & Exploit Measures The last time we spoke about our efforts to combat cheaters, we unveiled our work on our Anti-Meshing systems which focused on detection and prevention. After rolling out the system entirely, we saw a 90% reduction in overall meshing cases across the board. Since then, we've continued the fight against the various ways that underhanded survivors try to cheat on the ARK, and we'd like to give you an update on that fight. Meshing Our Anti-meshing Detection System is proving effective and we’re continuing to see a vast decline in incidents. Like all exploits/cheats, this is an ongoing battle and here's our latest progress: As you can see the battle against meshers is not over, but cases remain low and will continue to decrease over time. Some of the additional changes we've been working on have included: Improvements to the Anti Meshing detection system. This has involved being able to detect meshing in new areas of the map, as well as eliminating false positives and refining the system where edge cases could slip through. Level Design changes across all maps which focused on filling in holes and ensuring that collision has been set correctly to prevent players from entering unintended playable areas of the map Tackling mesh-methods head on to prevent players from being able to get into the mesh in the first place Initial rollout of the Anti Mesh Biting solution on all platforms, to prevent creatures from attacking through the mesh. Still early days so far, but a lot of the primary methods of mesh biting have been eliminated and we’ll be continuing to monitor for new methods and reports to squash them too! We really appreciate and want to thank the ARK community for the reports and support, as the information provided helped us to improve the system overall. Keep it coming guys! Duping Similarly to meshing, this has been another hot topic that has plagued the game. In one of our most recent updates, we were able to release a system to identify duped items (in some cases retroactively), as well as prevent many instances of duping from occurring in the first place. It's still early days, but so far the results have been outstanding, as we're sure some of you have seen. The system is still being monitored by our team and we'll continue to iterate on improvements where possible whilst having our enforcement team dish out harsher punishments. Exploits & Bugs Fixing bugs and exploits has been the main focus of our most recent patches. We’d intended to push out some patches focusing on balance but they were put on hold whilst we address what we consider to be more pressing issues. Examples exploits we’ve fixed recently include: Fixed an exploit with the Rock Drake Fixed an exploit that allowed mission creatures to be used in unintended ways Fixed an exploit which allowed certain creatures to attack structures through walls Additional server-side protection against exploits Fixed an exploit with turrets and ziplines Fixed an exploit with meshing and the cruise missile Fixed an exploit that allowed you to get under the map. Fixed a mounting exploit with Magamasaur And there’s definitely more if you go through the rest of the patch notes, as well as a whole host of bug fixes! We know that the patch notes regarding exploits aren’t super detailed. We typically just reference the object surrounding the exploit and that is because we prefer to hold these cards close to our chest, especially to prevent these methods from being exploited on unpatched Unofficial servers. Player Reports We recognize that some of the auto-responses on tickets could be worded in a more precise manner so as to mitigate confusion and we’ll be working with our GM’s to update them. Something we’d like to clarify is that an auto-response with the ticket being closed does not denote that the case isn’t being investigated. It means one of the following: Enforcement action has taken place An investigation is ongoing No further information from the reporter is required. Our enforcement team (GM’s) does not disclose the outcome of player reports for player privacy reasons but rest assured that if a reported player or tribe is found in violation of the Code of Conduct, the enforcement team will be taking the necessary action against them. For those wanting to report a player for breaking the Code of Conduct on an Official Server, it can be done so here. Third-Party Software (Aimbot/ESP etc) Over the past few months, we’ve seen a spike in our CCUs across the platforms, which usually leads to a spike in cheaters too. In particular, on PC and Crossplay servers, we’ve witnessed a rise in aimbot reports and the team has been working hard with our partners to combat the use of third party software. For some additional insight into the cycle of fighting against aimbots, this is usually what happens: We notice an increase in the number of aimbot reports, we work with our anti-cheat partners to identify and detect the new software and once that has been done, we’ll issue a ban wave and punish cheaters accordingly. Following this, we’ll see a slight dip in the frequency of aimbot reports on our Official Networks, until either new software is released or older software has been updated, and then we repeat the process again of identification, detection, and punishment. This cycle can be as long as a few weeks, or as short as a few days. It’s a constant cat and mouse and our team is working diligently with BattlEye in order to detect new third party software and keep our officials as safe from cheaters as possible. In addition to that, we have also ramped up our enforcement measures, including, not only player bans but full wipes of tribes associated. In regards to Crossplay specifically, we’ve recently implemented and improved our systems & heuristics to identify those using malicious third party software and it is proving effective. Over the past week, our enforcement team has wiped multiple tribes and banned a large number of players on our Crossplay servers with more to come very soon. We’ll continue to enforce hard against these cheaters. Eggcellent Painting Contest As a reminder, the Eggcellent Painting contest is ongoing. There will be two competitions with a prize for the winner of $100! In-Game Painting Real-life Egg Painting The entries will be judged by our community team. Submissions are limited to three eggs per survivor, so choose your best egg. You'll have the month of April to enter, with April 30th being the final day to enter. Save and Load Mechanic for Single Player Can you please add the ability to save the game when the player wants to in Single Player? The auto save feature always saves at the worst time (ex. when your flying super high on a mount and you spawn in falling to your death, or in the middle of a battle with a Rex) and will often get you killed if you try to load back in after crashing. With the ability to save when you want and load previous saves, people will feel like they have more control of their game, because I for one hate feeling like i have to play supper safe or risk losing important gear or dinos all the time, and I am sure I'm not the only one who feels this way....

Speaking from experience. If you fight the alpha spino without a mate boost or in the water your giga will rage in about 3 seconds flat even with a 350 saddle. That’s a 400melee hatch giga with double imprint and max level. To straighten one thing out as well, alpha hunt Dino’s take 5x reduced dmg. Someone said it’s over 6x. Either they suck at math or are mistaking they’re base dmg output. My tribe has yet to defeat the Alpha giga hunt. Gigas are essentially worthless in that fight. Even 4 ridden 570 melee hatch mate boosted gigas with 350 saddles and a yuti got torn apart. Several op velos And tek skiff with mini guns is our next setup. We’ve killed the giga a few times but he’s with 3 rexs and they are equally insane.

Which is very impressive for a game over 5 years old. It most certainly has its flaws but no other game comes close to the same experience.

Isnt it Snail Games bought Wildcard rather than Snail Games bought Ark ? But yes.

Mini event between big events My wife and I have been playing since legacy. Love all the events throughout the year. Easter, Love Evolved, etc. Sometimes, though, there is a long time between major events. I would like to suggest an event to have between the bigger events. A Renniscance Fair would be amazing. Mini games like archery, jousting, etc. Could win armor skins, horse saddle skins, weapon skins, etc. Dont know if a drinking game could be allowed, but drunken gallivanting racing could be interesting. Have alot of different ideas on details.

Megalodon because it only has one attack right now. Give it an alt attack like a bleed attack or something.

Agreed. WC has done a good job, are they perfect no. But giving us so many choices in how to play is amazing. Single player, unofficial, mods, etc. They have also continued with official servers being free to play (with purchase of Ark), no monthly subscription fee or cash shop, even though these might be good business decisions.

No Tuso love? That's my pick, since its not on the list. It has a few serious issues that need to be addressed: 1. The head is not solid Make the head a solid hitbox, too many small enemies like manta and eels glitch into the head and make you stuck. Good luck surviving if you get pinned by them as I have lost a few tuso to this unfortunate design flaw. (yes i dismounted and tried to whistle follow but it doesn't always work as the tuso swim animation gets glitched as it is taking too much dmg and refuses to move, then it just constantly sprays ink) RIP Tusos 2. Eggs from mating Make the eggs lay outside of the head. It makes no sense to have the eggs lay inside the dino. They should appear beside it or come out of the mouth at least. 3. Life steal Enable life steal when hitting targets with tentacles with the alt attack. I understand why the grab is disabled on PVE but at least enable it to steal life from targets as a way to regenerate HP instead of force feeding 70k HP back from meat. @Dollie @Skittle

I would just like to thank the devs for all they do. I know they get alot of hate and have to make very hard choices. This is a massive game and with a big game comes with wholes. I know alot of other game developers who release a game and not care what anyone has to say. They made a web site to hear out players problems and have used fan created maps and mods. Just like real life your not going to make everyone happy. Hope i do not get to much hate for this. Hope everyone has a great day.

that is what im saying im thinking most of these people havent even tryed alpha missions to know how bad they are. were talking about LVL 3000 brutes alphas. and if you dont like it on PVP go to PVE. and if your on PVE play the game how you want to stop worrying about everyone eles. OR get GUD

I agree @Fukushu PVE is about having fun and enjoying yourself, regardless what others do.

@caleb68that and some people ''worry'' that bob can take their place on the list. So all their hard work has gone down the drain because bob is now a way better player than them in ARK PVE. ^^ They lose their prestige and can't show others anymore that they are leading the lists or have done the bosses while no one else could, this seems to matter a lot for some people to the point that they will lose all the fun if others become able to do the same on the server. Everyone has their own issues and has fun in the game in a different way but if all your enjoyment in the game is linked to being ''the best'' in ARK PVE <- PVE! and you instantly lose that enjoyment just because others have it now easier or never wanted the struggle and you despise those people and Wildcard just because of that you should really reconsider the way you play video games...

While I get where you're coming from - you want the game fixed because you like it and don't have confidence in WC to fix it - what gaming company would ever touch it? What business would touch a messy codebase that they don't know and spend money fixing it? There's no money in fixing the game, sadly, because as much as people complain here, they still play, right? Fixing bugs won't bring in all that many new people - new, shiny content that is of news value does. It's sad but true. For all their faults, WC is most likely the developer that cares the very very most about the game. I can guarantee that no company that takes it on will care as much about it (possibly with the exception of passionat ARK players getting together to take it on, but then: would the skill to do anything about it be there?) and caring about the game is the only driver for fixing bugs.

people who think transferes ruin challenge of the game are just creating a problem that is not there. all they are trying to do is force others to play the game they want to play it. when transferes open up, just don't upgrade dinos. simple as that, stop making others bend to your will. (this is not a post directed to anyone specific in this thread).

as one of those tribes that did work hard to do the alpha content... no. why should i care about this? how does it effect me in any way that now smaller tribes can bring better dinos to do alpha content that i had to work my ass off for? it doesn't. i'd be selfish to say it does.

I basically agree. But...be honest: your next shop is 20 miles away. 1. You have no car, no train , nothing, just your feet. So you'll walk. 2. You have the possbility to take your car or to walk. What do you choose? I think to have the possibilty is the "problem".

Gigas I have been using are on an unofficial genesis with boosted lvl up stats, reaching close to 1,400% melee. You last approximately 3 hits, upon which the giga enrages and kills you, failing the mission, or if you not riding it, will bite the alpha brute 2/3 times more before keeling over. Unless they've severely nerfed the alpha hunt scaling since I last tried, I'd dread to think how little an official giga would fare against the alpha spino.

I would like to see a survivor/game TLC: Inventory: Right now you can only transfer one stack at a time or all the stacks at once, I would like to see an option to transfer X stacks to the remote/local inventory or drop X stacks of the filtered item. Filtering/searching by weapon damage/armor instead of only the name of the item. Engrams: Allow us to unlock engrams on all maps so we don’t have to transfer multiple times to learn engrams again. Especially element engrams are in a weird position, you can get dust on all maps from tek Dino’s but only learn the engram on extinction. Survivor: Allow us to make a “save profile” of our survivors so that a GM can restore that survivor when we lose it. HUD: The following options would be nice to have: -show server save timer(like on transmitter/obelisk) -extinction show when vein grows nearby, currently you can hear it, but deaf people have a disadvantage -show Dino’s left on wave for extinction osd/vein Gacha: Show range for sadness similar to trough/tek gen range. Open all crystals at once. Edit1: Fix bug with tek dedicated storage and artifacts, currently you can keep on withdrawing artifacts from the tek dedicated storage without them apearing in your inv if you already have one(like it should) but it wil remove 1 from the dedicated storage without dropping or anything(this should be fixed). Same bug also happens when dropping multiple of the same artifact and pressing F to pickup all. Increase hide stack to 300 from 200 currently. Procoptodon: Make them carryable by more dinos again. Fix the issues with babies in pouch getting either teleported or destroyed(missing) when unrendered. Quetzal: Make my honkbirds great again! MQGA!! Right now they are almost inferior to the Argentavis. Perhaps give Quetzals similar bonusses as the Argentavis, or some of the following: -Make them fly faster -Weight reduction like in the past(carried dino only 50%) -Allow us to place structures on Quetzals that can't be placed on other platforms such as vaults or tek dedicated storage Platform dinos/structures: Allow us to place some more structures on certain "high end" platforms. From a PvP standpoint I understand this would be too strong, but maybe make it a server option like ?PveAdvancedPlatformStructures=true for PVE servers. For example the following: -Tek generator -Turrets -Vaults -Tek dedicated storage -Tek sleeping pods(even without the tek gen it would be nice to place them on platforms due to their higher health compared to bunkbeds) Tek replicator: Allow us to withdraw resources from nearby dedicated storage boxes

it doesn't take years to get the rexes up on their damage, just a lot of breeding, scrap the bad baby hatchlings, and keep the good ones, always make sure both male and female family lines have room for mutations to improve your chances of getting mutations. You can get 500 melee base rexes up to 30k health and 700-800 melee

We beat Alpha Moeder with ease. 3 mosas and 5 basilos. 3 of the basilos were tamed and all only had 40-50 armor saddles.

The game is mostly fine. They could just form a new company to run the official servers. Subscription and/or cash shop to support them.

The biggest issue I see are those stone walls while your in tek tier. S In all seriousness I still keep all mine pinned even with them being "fixed". I would suggest everyone does the same.

Indeed, most alpha hunt are even worse WITH a giga. Most alpha missions need carefull thinking, and planning. Some people are acting like all 168 mission are completed on 1 day with the -magical one chomp- giga, dont worry ain't gonna happen. Ps: Im wondering if the same anti giga people are completing moeder with the bred 19k hp 400m mosa's on official rn or just use an army of megalodon's, cause u know mosa's are op and all.
  48. 1 point
The problem is that unless you already had eggs placed, you can't do the contest, since you can't place them any longer.
  49. 1 point
Shame that Giga's will be allowed through, worked really hard to run some of these alpha missions and I feel that effort has been undermined by just letting all the OP Giga lines in, but it is what it is I guess.

I haven’t said anything here because I’m not good at this like you guys are but I hope you guys start up doing this soon. I’ve been watching this and the ark theories from their beginning.
