people are really here bitching about legacy being cancelled and them not providing support, but everyone knew this the moment new cluster was released... your own fault for putting time into legacy really.

i don’t know why we cant transfer from legacy to official most things on official are so mutated and x amount of generations of tames have emerged things have become rather easy. So what does legacy have that we don’t have now.

not sure if you read my post or just read some of it and decided to respond, but i was basically saying in an admittedly poor tone that they should take those communities and just set up their own servers. there is nothing inherantly wrong with unofficials and i still can't see why people are so against them. literally every bad thing people say about unofficial servers, wildcard has done to legacies. They are LITERALLY killing the servers. studio wildcard deserves alot of blame for alot of things, but they have been transparent from the launch of the current official cluster that legacies were on borrowed time. they made no promises regarding legacy servers and even if they did how are you going to enforce it? the official servers were NEVER included as a promise in any of their original advertisement material and the game was never advertised as online only. Trust me i am mad at them for alot of things but it doesn't mean i am going to just rollover and quit because that would mean the communities and friendships i have formed meant nothing in the end. I am not blaming the legacy people for what is happening to them i am blaming them for how alot of them are responding to perceived hardship. Wildcard has not forgot their base demographic, official players of all colors make up the minority of all people who play ark. Nowhere on their steam page did wildcard say that this was a completely online game or that they were even providing the hardware for you to play online with. They sold you a game that can be played completely in single player or you can set up your own servers. They have provided free official servers to the playerbase at cost, and you still have people who literally paid for this game 5 years ago and have sunk thousands of hours into it thinking that their 59.99 or whatever gives them a right to dictate the terms of this free support, forever. If some sort of fee was being paid that you could then revoke in protest then you would have some sort of ability to dictate change to them, but the fact that most people feel so impotent about this just says that you invested a signifigant portion of your time and effort into something that you had no guarantee of keeping. I actually am sorry people are losing their free places to play, but at the end of the day if you have played this game for more than 10 hours you have easily gotten your money's worth when you take into account all the other daily things humans spend money on that give less payback, like eating out. and to those who already purchased genesis and are regretting it, why on earth would you preorder a thing when there is no limited amount of them? there will be the same amount of genesis if you buy it the day of as there will if you bought it when they first mentioned the trailer.

Man, if only Wildcard would let us run/join unofficial servers, that would solve the issue of people not wanting to go to official... /sarcasm

At least you legacy players were acknowledged that you exist, or did. nintendo switch players are flat out ignored.

So how do I get my money back for genesis cause I’ll uninstall the game as soon as legacy is over

Talk to your friends, get your save and pay for an unofficial server and never have problems again.

Maybe its time for a full wipe followed by better official settings.

Honestly, nothing lasts forever. Current official servers will eventually be culled also.

Peope seem surprised that they are removing yet even more Legacy Servers. I mean did you all not see it coming ? Like really ? I mean Legacy has it marked literrally on the tin. There is a reason why a lot of us left official even though some of our servers survived the first initial wipe.

I am mystified why the legacy community is so upset. and no this isn't a hating on legacy thing. what i mean is if i played on legacy and this was just coming down the pipes instead of letting the community i was so fond of go i'd just set up a new server. then again i have the fix my own problems attitude alot of the people here whining claim to have. I don't understand how any of you can say you "take care of your own problems" and then whine in the same post that wildcard isn't going to provide you free servers anymore when you paid for the software once like 5 years ago. do i play on officials? no, i take care of my problems and make sure my own community is happy.

Pretty sure the legacy servers became legacy two - three years ago and you didnt expect one day they will be all gone. Wildcard gave the warning about legacy and you chose to stay stop complaining.

legacy will be getting genesis they just wont be supported ^^ which theres realy no need for support... ive played legacy 5 years without any issues .we handle our own problems as a community.

Admin / Trusted Player Tool - Game Save Visualiser Just a quick post of my own instead of hijacking others and name-dropping a new tool I've been working on. It's essentially my own UI which visualises some of the great work by others who have worked on parsing the save file data and providing "toolkits" for others to use. The work was originally based on a java based utility called ark-tools which used ark-savegame-toolkit to output JSON text files which encouraged me to make something simple to list the information in master/detail grids. Hi LoadedCrysis here, Who remembers the days of early access? When we would get New Dinosaurs on the PC and Console every single month? Well I have thought of a really awesome idea that would defiantly be one step to growing Ark even more and bringing fresh content constantly to the game. So I believe there is already a lot of Dinosaurs in Ark survival evolved, which is great, but i think there are a lot of dinos that are not used that much anymore or are just a bit boring, especially if your someone like me who has played the game for over 3 years. It would be fantastic to see some new Dinos, but If its not possible just to keep adding new dinos on top of the old ones (maybe due to memory issues or something) then why not vault some of the less popular ones and bring in fresh new dinosaurs to take there place, similar to how fortnite vaults old guns and bring in new ones. I just feel like the game needs something new every month or so and something that gets us survivors excited because change can always great. On top of this us survivors can always look forward to other bigger projects you guys work on, such as new maps, DLC's or new fun game modes but enjoy the smaller changes in the meantime. If New Dinos couldn't work, then maybe a TLC until all the Dinosaurs are fully up to date? Let me know what you guys think, Thanks for the chance to let us share our suggestions, LoadedCrysis

I play a lot still. Have since early access. Spent years on PvP, years on PvE, the usual. And yes I see damn near every post on here. My avatar is me trying to maintain my sanity.

haha very true .well im gonna ride the gravy train till the wheels fall off the community my friends on the legacy cluster I will miss if any shall leave the game.which I don't agree should just migrate to few servers and hope that we get spared few servers atleast and if Wildcard does decide to close them all im not saying I wont join official .because I love this game I mean I have yrs invested into it as a whole I don't mind starting fresh either. its some of the COC I just don't agree with and personally wouldn't wait for support if issues emerged lol but cheers to all of legacy we have made it this long in game and have few more moments still yet to enjoy .unless ur on pvp legacy then ur screwed but ya lol join official gets some action:)

Its not WC fault you misunderstood that legacy was borrowed time and would be culled until there was nothing left. The save files will be released if you want to pay for a cluster as a community.

Also I think I can explain why there is a massive crater on the planet. Apparently the element resource fell from the sky a long time ago, and since we are talking about a game filled with animals from prehistory, falling meteors in the wasteland and terms such as extinction, I'd assume that a meteor caused the crater. (Not the crater in extinction, the crater we see on Earth if we go ghost mode during the aberration cutscene) When the meteor struck the Earth, it caused an immense amount of damage to that side of the planet and started to leak element in the nearby area. Humans saw the new resource as a blueprint for incredible buildings such as skyscrapers, apartment complexes, etc. They also saw it as a weapon. Humans used the element to their advantage in wars, and eventually they realized that they were doomed. If this crater is the origin of element making its way to Earth as we know it, this would certainly be some sort of landmark to visit sometime. For good reasons or bad? We dunno, but knowing the role element plays in the future, most likely bad. Very bad, with lots of death. Worse-than-respawn-cooldowns kind of bad.

So, ALL ( PvP and PvE) legacy servers will be closed? After the last 3 events and buying Genesis I'm forced to leave my places where i play since the first week of ARK? Almost 5K hours on legacy ( FIRST OFFICIALS!!!) PvE....

@Cedric I really hoped for an extend of the event because of all the gigantic problems people had during the event. We had tons of server crashes, constant max pings and many other issues (chibis resetting and so on). There was nearly no support because you guys probably took a vacation which is more than fine but some more days with higher rates would be a good compensation for having ALL your imprints over the whole event delayed by 1-4 hours because of lags and crashes. We had way less event time because of the horrible lags and crashes is what I'm trying to say. Happy new year to everyone.

You can seek a refund from the vendor you bought the game from. Microsoft, Sony and Steam.

I dont even play on Legacy anymore i moved to official on day 1 official came out because i saw that coming but i can understand the People that was still playing on Legacy to the fullest bc there is no support its all about the community! If you have a good Community over there and someone blocks off a cave, its no problem then People will Block all his Gates with Brontos and Gigas for example until he didnt block off the community from the cave anymore, that kind of stuff they mean when they say "we fix it ourself" and instead of blaming the Legacy Players, what about Studio Wildcard? They are the Ones that made promises they dont keep! (Once again) Of Course this People are pissed off, and it seems like that Wildcard forgot some of these ppl are or was your Base and helped you to your success! And to tell them "Future content will also come to the Legacy Servers" and then say "hell no we close ALL PVP LEGACY SERVERS NOW and some of the pve its like ok give me your money and you dont get anything back ok? So what do you expect? That they are happy now? Sorry but thats no positive Vibes at all.

Windows XP files still supported in new Windows. It just you cant backtrack. Wildcard can let Legacy players to transfer their character to Official. I would say they are entitled to refund. If you start to play ark a year back and you started on legacy server. There is no notification on client side saying legacy server wont be supported. New players do not know about the crunch or the forum. Wildcard should put notification on the client side about legacy status. If they can put new event notification, it wont be difficult to put legacy notification on client. If you want players to play in unofficial, wildcard should charge player to play on official server not on game copy. BTW if you cancel netflix subscription, you wont getting any netflix show. what do you mean getting all show after cancelling? Wildcard should have made this announces before start selling genesis.

And ofc nothing about Genesis, atleast you should share some information..

I support this decision. Especially from those who are South American, wildcard has clearly shown that it has no respect for this region.

Seriously, 0 support for legacy. People just bought the genesis pack which as delayed. You released x2 breeding and wonderful events. Next thing you do is kill 90% of legacy servers? Allow us on legacy to transfer our tames, and character to official... OR give us savefiles of our servers. At lest show the old legacy players that much respect. Happy new year wildcard....
