  1. Man it sounds like PVE is being punished for PVP crap AGAIN. Wc I sure hope you will STOP nerfing fun stuff because fools of PVP. You create cool creatures then take away or so limit it to a point one wishes to avoid taming. I love this game and it is sad to say one of the worst parts of the game is the devs. You are hands off till cheating pushes you to respond then you over do it. Can you please make it up to us by some major TLC of all our old beloved dinos. Like ptdon, allo or even megladon

  2. as a PvE player, I'm not too fond of the snow owl changes, though considering how easy they made big creatures to tame, I do think they're fair without making the snow owl pointless. other than that though, it looks pretty good.

  3. Why is everyone so rude and mean? There are nicer ways to say this stuff and criticism should always be positive building up, not tearing down. I don't even like agreeing with comments cause even those people who are right are nasty and rude about it. I sure hope these social media sites are not a representative of humanity and it culture at the moment. It's sickening and saddening really.? And yes I know I'm ironically being negative critical to every negative critical on the social media sites. But PLEASE can't everyone learn how to be kind and helpful and polite? It's such a toxic atmosphere to try and come o on here and help improve a fun game. No one is being forced to play it by law or anything. So if you choose to play this game be nice to the people who made it, an be considerate to the people who come in here to try and make it better. thanks ahead of time to those o of you who believe in kindness and politeness no matter

  4. 1 flyer nerf 2 mana/velo nerf 3 alliance war bug... You are right it wont effect pve... I just hope they will realize that PvP its actually killing the game.

  5. The owl changes negatively affect PVE taming. PLEASE make this a separate change for PVP vs PVE. Leave PVE owls as they are. It's super frustrating that we have to pay for the minority of players, again and again and again. If you separated this change out between servers, it would make BOTH groups of people happy.

  7. Dev confirmed statistic: more people play PVE than PVP, actually. It may have once been a PVP game, but it is now majority PVE, yet we the silent majority suffer often because the vocal minority cries. It would be fine if they would split PVP and PVE balances out. This suggestion post has 164 unique votes in its favor. It is by far the most popular suggestion in the whole suggestions page. If the devs listened and went ahead and separated changes out, this game would be so much better--but that's a lot of work to do. We PVE'ers are just tired of being quiet while PVP takes away all of our fun. What's the point of having unique dinos if PVP cannot adapt to changing metas? Why not, then, just make all new dinos essentially reskinned old ones. New turtle mount? Just strip away all the utility and make it a reskinned mosa with an innate platform saddle. (Bet you that building on it will use up like 30 dino slots, fYI, for "balance". ) New lava lizard? Just make it a re skinned thorny dragon. Would that make things better in the eyes of PVP'ers? Yes, and make things boring as hell. That's how we PVE'ers see things--your PVP outrage is homogenizing the game and making it boring. Manas are basically pointless now for PVE. They don't even really have the stamina to be fantastic distance mounts even at 5k stamina. Hop Hop Hop Hop Hop- jump off and regen. Low level gigas are medium grade rexes. Rhinos gather berries better than brontos. Wyverns and high bred gigas are the most used mounts on PVE. Most people just use boss rexes, with Therinzes as a far less used second. No variety because the dinos have been so nerfed and homogenized. Look, this isn't really an attack at you PVPers. I get it. You're super frustrated. But PVE'ers are too. The best thing we can both do, as a community, is stop fighting each other and start working together to pressure the Dev community into listening to ALL OF US and separate the balances out. Everybody wins--even the devs. Less angry community. More players. More revenue from map packs.

  8. Been a loong time since I played regularly and posted anything as it's been a busy year trying to work on my till software and make a go of starting up my own company however. I decided to donate my PC components to my wife for her to have a living room based media/games PC so that I could justify upgrading my own. Now running Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB fast DDR 4 and an RTX 2060 Super and ARK now finally runs smoothly with every setting on EPIC (only 1080 since my monitors don't support more). I have to say it does look very pretty on max settings - looking forward to see how it handles a big battle or OSD defense or such now. We migrated over to Valguero when it was released officially and have slowly been building up. We modified the server configs (unofficial server) so that we could start farming element from the mini-Broodmother (30 per kill) before we were ready to do the real boss(es). Have to say although I was a little critical of the map to start with (lots of repetition in rock formations and such down south) - this has soon passed with all the beautiful spots the modders have included. I obviously purchased the next "Season Pass" - with 4.5k hours in the game over the various maps it's probably about time I gave a little more appreciation back in the form of my hard earned.. and gaining a couple more maps when released is just a bonus.

  12. imagine if there was a thread asking for feedback on beta changes ... and they completely ignore why everyone is saying they have to live in caves ... keep the titans transferrable and focus on nerfing tapes to fix the reason ppl living in caves .... much facepalms for everyone

  13. I feel that the tek tapajara saddle has been nerfed too much in the past. Its range is almost point blank. I feel it would be better if it had more range but make each shot cost more. Like 2 to 3 shots per ele. And leave the damage as is. As for everything else looks good. Cant wait to play genesis

  16. please fix titans starving on singleplayer and titans losing the alpha/beta/gamma prefix apon logging off and logging back on in singleplayer. also making it to where having a titan tamed makes you not need its trophy to summon the king titan would greatly help it because its mention in the explorer notes about killing or taming the titans to fight him twice AND was mentioned in streams AND having to kill your own titans, summon new ones and kill them for their trophies, then summon them again to use them against the king titan, and then doing all that 3 times over for each level of king titan is extremely tedious, especially since you need to redo it from the start if you lose to any of the kings titans you fight. doing this would make it more lore friendly and less horribly tedious to the nth degree.

  17. Sadly you are expecting balance for PvP in a PvE game. There isn't a single PvP game out there with as many variables as ARK has. The reason for that is simple. You cannot balance it for both PvE and PvP at the same time. Doing so for one hurts the other. The only way is to accept you are PvP-ing in a PvE game or have a simpler version of the game that runs seperate and is more easily balanced. Many Big companies like Blizzard entertainment have tried and failed to balance both at the same time. With SoTF at least the playing field was fair. It is that level of balance you are asking for even if it is not the gameplay you are wanting.

  19. speaking as a developer, that is harder to implement. Instead, you could make structures have a cooldown, that once hit by projectile, they are immune to further projectiles for X seconds, rate limiting the DPS a structure can take.

  20. If it was never intended to be a PvE game why create a story. Most PvP-ers couldn't care less about story in video games. It detracts from the only things they really care about. Balance and PvP. The Devs have worked hard to create an engaging world with a great story and many interesting unique creatures and game play systems that are practically against what PvP-ers crave. Yet they still do nothing but nerf the game they worked so hard to craft to appease the minority at the cost of the majority. I personally love both PvE and PvP and coming from a PvP mindset I would prefer the tighter limits of SoTF than have all the PvE stuff mucking up my PvP... Conversely When I PvE I want deep rich story and fun varied game play. The exact thing we are losing to the PvP whine sadly.

Instead of nerfing the saddle for tek tapejaras significantly by changing projectile damage to a level at which they are the equivalent of a tek rifle or changing the element cost which would lead to certain tribes likely duping element dust in order to keep up with these changes please just add a limit to the amount of tek saddles a tribe can have on server at once. Perhaps having 5-10 tek saddles per tribe on server at once which is essentially limiting the damage.

By slowing down the footage at 0:42 in the trailer you can see that this strange device we've been seeing for the past week and a half is located in some kind of (untextured) open room filled with diagonal pillars and some white light. Given that the device is also shown at the title card at the end of the trailer, it's clear this device is going to play some major role in Genesis. HLN-A herself is, obviously, a fragment of Helena Walker, and if I had to guess, I'd say that the "fragmented" part was her "emotional" one, or rather, the parts that wouldn't exactly be necessary for the tasks of a Homo Deus. The rest of Helena, it seems, is going off to contact other survivors and tell them the same things she told us. As for story, here's what I've pieced together: Helena has brought us to the weird device and given us HLN-A, telling us that we must go through a series of tests. With HLN-A at our side, we visit a variety of different survival simulations. It seems each region will be a different mission, and each mission will involve us surviving until we can defeat a boss or something like that. After that, we are taken to the next region via the device. At the very end of the trailer, you can see some tek structure at the top and bottom of the cave passage, suggesting we may also encounter rare tek structures. Speaking of tek and element, according to https://www.pcgamer.com/ark-genesis-season-pass-everything-we-know/ : "There's also a small shoulder pet nicknamed Tiny. It's adorable until it gets its hands on some Element, one of Ark's resources, which makes it completely hulk out and turn into a vicious, rampaging multi-limbed fangbeast. Seems like just the kind of pet you'd like in your arsenal." Element is the keyword here, as it suggests these Genesis simulation locations have not been purged of element for some reason. We also know it's "bad" element since the thing the Tiny eats not glows purple at 0:54 in the trailer, but the Tiny transforms it into a beast once eaten, similar to what presumably happened with the titans on Extinction. Another interesting thing to think about is that Arat Prime is opposite of Extinction, Extinction is under the 3 ARKs Helena has influenced, and Helena says that the Genesis map/maps is/are "beyond my reach". In other words, the evidence suggests to me that these simulations may be located within Arat Prime, a place that, due to it's location, Helena may not have been able to access and monitor directly, hence a reason she made HLN-A. The simulations being in Arat Prime would explain why the simulations and device exist AT ALL, as they may have been used in the past as prototype ARKs. It could also explain why we saw little bits of tek a the end of the trailer. As for the point of all this testing, it seems that Helena is training us for something, something she refers to in the trailer as "The arrival". I think it's pretty likely that what's "arriving" is Rockwell and the evils of the crashed Aberration ARK, which could be re-intoxicating the planet. If this theory about "The arrival" is true - and it does seem to be - then that would confirm that Genesis is a sequel to Extinction and not a prequel to it as some have suggested. But maybe, as one of the devs on the stream said, Genesis could begin in a way that doesn't pick up right where Extinction left off, but at a point where the influence of the crashed Aberration has begun to negatively effect the planet, weeks/months after Extinction's end. To recap, it seems that Helena is sending us and HLN-A to a series of survival simulations within Arat Prime in order to train us to fight Rockwell and Aberration. Part one could be the training, and part two could be the actual fight against Aberration. We also have yet to meet this "new character" that Helena was talking to in the Communication Records, maybe he/she will play a part in Genesis's story?

  26. I am not one to complain much but seriously. Velonosaurs Nerfed to usless, Managamr Nerfed to pointless. Now you nerf even more right to the ground for what? PvP balance? You must realise by now every single time you nerf something to the ground the PvP-ers will just find a new meta that breaks the game... You are chasing a pointless cause wasting time, effort, and money to achieve only one thing... Ruin the uniqueness and fun that all these creatures used to bring to the largest part of your player base. Try this to balance for PvP... Balance Official PvP servers to be more like SoTF and let the rest enjoy the game you created to begin with. Then let Dedicated server owners choose with ini options PvP(Like official), PvE or PvPvE(PvP in the PvE game)

Im sorry but can you please inform me on how this in any way, shape or form this affects PVE? you guys have had 2-3 years of "FUN" on PVE servers with WCs fast responses meanwhile we have to sit here and suffer, I think its fantastic WC is finally helping us and working with us on PVP servers instead of having to think about you guys on your no fighting servers. Us PVPers have alot more to lose than your glasshouses. Please explain how any of this PUNISHES you on your beloved PVE servers. - Mek shield debuff set to not be given on shield deactivation - Outside of Mek shield debuff reduced to 30 seconds (from 60) - Snow Owl freeze buff set to not dismount riders - Players and Dino’s are immune to the snow owl freeze for 10 seconds after being frozen - Reduced Tek Tapejara Saddle projectile damage by 30% - Reduced Tek Tapejara Saddle projectile damage to structures by 75% - Dropped Plant Species Z Fruit weight to 10

  31. Who jumps to a 75% debuff on something that's been around such a long time? Just remove the saddle. With any changes that seems like a rather large amount to jump to for balancing. Reduced Tek Tapejara Saddle projectile damage to structures by 75%

  35. As I logged in Sunday Saltire was already on around base. I started up the grinder first thing and got to 80 real fast to make our industrial forge. Tried a few test builds at base, trying for a build where we can popcorn the ingots out but every which way i tried got a few stuck in it. That just wont do! Out of frustration demolished the wrong ceiling and... bam. Forge destroyed! Luckily Saltire had an extra in the cloud from a previous server so we bent our rules a bit and grabbed it to replace. No fliers is doing great! Hopped over between loot cave and the metal cave a few times. The game tempts me i swear. Ive been on this cluster for 1.5 years and havent to this day found a nice Argy saddle bp, first drop from the loot cave - a really nice asc argy saddle bp lol. That will go into the coffers at The Center. Finished up the breeding barn I built - i dont know --how-- but somehow the building got off square...weirdest thing! Took some mats over to my real life buddies place and made some blueprints he has aquired here on Val - he lives just behind the loot cave so he hits it a few times a day. Got some pick / hatchets crafted and some ghillie ( @AngrySaltire they are in my thyla) Had to abrutly log off - a few friends all the way from Haida Gwaii were in town!

  36. Finishing touches to my new home next to the Ruined Fort I was living in. Annoying that there are no build zones on the towers as I had planned to rebuild them but had to build off to the side and now use the Fort courtyard as a breeding pen instead. upload pic And here is my almost entirely white ice wyvern I hatched the other day upload pic

  37. The last 2 days were very productive on my end. On saturday, I ran the Swamp Cave and Easy Water Cave easily 6+ times with no luck as for new saddles BPs. However, I did successfully kicked the beta broodmother's rear end with my megatherium crew, despite 2 loses. Also hatched and raised 36 theriz for my upcoming gamma overseer solo fight. On Sunday, spent my whole day in the dev kit, working on my ice themed test map. Most of the static meshes are completed. Also figured out how I'll handle undermeshing. Event-wise, the Blizzard & SuperCold are both finished and tested. Still waiting on a graphist friend for my event icons, but that's a minor detail. As for my Frostbite debuff, it took me longer than expected to figure out how to dynamically change your weight/melee/run speed based on cumultative amount. Used the MaxStatsScaler to achieve my goal. Last part remaining to be done on that debuff is to "freeze" your screen as you stay out in the cold for too long. Screen freezing =>

  38. Unofficial Valguero Logging on today I found an ice wyvern egg in my inventory. Nice surprise seeing as I had the invisible wyvern glitch until today, and had picked up an empty package from a wyvern nest to test it yesterday without expecting much. Only a level 95 but enough to be starting with so I got to hatching it. It's nearly entirely white lol with some grey areas in the right light. Don't look at it in direct sunlight if you value your eyesight haha Whilst it was maturing today I spent time building my new house off to the side of the ruined Fort I had been rebuilding as my starting base, and moving stuff from there to the new house. Now I can use the courtyard of the Fort below me as Dino storage. I'll grab a screenshot of the building and wyvern next time I'm on.

  41. Went Ice Wyvern egg hunting. Found a 150. Flew home. Game stuttered just as I hit the button to equip my desert clothes, hit it again as it hadn't done anything. Then registered both and ate the egg =( Then fly past the 150 wyvern and it's event coloured ???

  42. Yeah do last night the Extinction server in my Kluster went kaplooey! The only thing they could do to get it back was to do a 25 hour rollback. So basically over 50% of my weekend work was rolled back.

Tell me if you enjoy the sounds of this METAS really quick and it'll make you realise how fixes in this game need to be sorted for PVP Flyers that can pick you up and drag you into bases quicker than you can blink. Being able to beer / cake a Tanking dino just so it lasts an extra 30 mins tanking Veg Cakes that healed 1/2 the dinos hp back per bite while tanking Longneck and fabs being 755% damage hitting your flak harder than turrets especially with aimbotters. Ghillie running 100+ turrets and shock darts that make a character not move for a long period of time. Being able to walk a turtle or any dino with no box on the back to a base and c4 off the back of it and manage to get inside in minutes. Now thats just 1 of the old metas. These days it is Snow owl slow the enemy Throw a giga Instantly kill. or Using a mek to debuff / not even needing to because your meks do so much dmg it doesnt matter for debuff not being able to run from a mek because of the debuff or even how much dmg the pistol does end up losing tames that take 2 weeks to raise because of 1 stupid broken robot. OR All this Sh** at once. So you decide if PVP needs to be fixed or not. Most fixes in this game are PVP related because its not ideal to watch someone run 100 turrets on foot or watch 30 tapes fly into a base instead of having to tank it for hours or even watching a dino like manas 1 tapping you off the back of a tame that took you 2 weeks to raise i.e Giga As for the same effects, No. it does not effect you at all, im sorry you have to hold down your owl for an extra second now to freeze and having to wait a 10 SECOND timer to freeze another dino just to knock it out and realise that after 3 years you do have better stats anyway. Any other changes in this testing is nothing for PVE.
