  1. Ahoy Survivors, Jeremy and Jesse here! You might have noticed the announcement today of a new MMO game called ATLAS developed by a sister team of Studio Wildcard, named Grapeshot Games. Jesse and Jeremy together are now leading the development of ATLAS at Grapeshot, while continuing to creatively supervise the direction of ARK. Grapeshot itself is comprised of some original ARK team members as well as many new hires and operates as a separate dedicated dev team. The Wildcard team meanwhile has grown developing ARK and Extinction over the past year, led by Lead Programmer Chris Willoughby and Senior Producer Colin Tennery, and have been doing an excellent job bringing fresh ideas and QoL improvements to the game. As we work together with Chris, Colin, and the rest of the team, Wildcard will continue to support and expand ARK over the years to come bringing new features, fixes, and expansions into the game. Grapeshot meanwhile will grow in a direction oriented towards the operation of the persistent MMO service that ATLAS is, while both games will share technology and infrastructure improvements to complement each other. We’d like to thank everybody for their long-standing support, love of ARK, and enthusiasm for survival games, and we look forward to the adventures ahead! Keep on surviving, Jeremy and Jesse Co-Creative Directors of ARK and Co-Founders of Studio Wildcard

  2. "Finish your journey through the worlds of ARK in ‘Extinction’, where the story began and ends: on Earth itself! " ^ Just reflecting back on what was said in Jen's post on Extinction's release. There will be no future expansions for Ark. Extinction is it. This is a soft goodbye if you will. For those saying "but they said there will be more expansions", oh how truthful Wildcard has been with everything else. Future expansions will be added to the stopped developments list. This marks the official dying out of Ark as we all know it. Imagine if all that focus they pour into Atlas was channeled into fixing the broken pieces of Ark how much better it could be. They're just chasing dollars by enticing Ark lovers to buy a game that has the same coding integrated into it. Pockets over players always.

  7. This explains sooo much. Why is Ark still so damn buggy? Atlas. Why does it seem like there little customer service? Atlas. They think that the reason Ark is popular is because of them. Ark is popular despite them. Why don't you finish one game first, then release a new game. I will treat this new game like that other Ark replacement. Play ark and ignore the new game.

  10. they wont and its funny how people easy just belive every word they say. right if thats the case where is 100%rag released, bug fixed, lags, ddos, meshing and other poop fixed? exactly for me and my point is theyre jumping in everything at once then they got poop tons of problems why no keep doing "good work" with ark fix it and acc let people enjoy it instead of running for something else thats just shows how money grabbing this company is..... so probably your answer to community support will be they joined the ned company so they basically raptored of from ark players thats why none can get help or even a stupid answer? the other thing about the mesh yeah instead of fixin it you just wipe everyone who puts turrets under mesh for protection from other meshers FOR PROTECTION but yeah better is wipi g innocent people than fixing or running after the people who cause it...... ark is going down and more dlc dont expect anything from them they already promised a lot. wonder how they can lie so much to us aswell. internet says the Ark where you can acc play a animal role was released to xbox 2 years ago but yeah it never been released, ragnarok really? lets leave 1% so it looks like we are working on it hell yeah good job lol if thats how its gonna be u will get my ticket about giving me my money back for this broke game ;)

  11. I discovered that snow owls can be used to tame Rexes in the same way you can tame managarmers. lead them through one gate, freeze them, and then place another gate behind their legs.

  12. If you are indeed doing a TLC Phase 3, there are 3 creatures that me and probably hundreds of other people think deserve more love than ever...(This is in a PVE Sense.) 1. Megalodon: It looks like it has a baby's face, it is fairly useless once you get a Tusoteuthis or a Mosasaur, and it overall just seems unworthy of it's title. MEGAlodon. Make it bigger if possible. And definitely give it a new look. Also, I say give it an attack where it leaps up out of the water and can grab prey from midair or on the edges of the beach (Specifically Pelagornis or Seagulls.) Or give it a sense of smell like a dire wolf. Where it sees corpses and can see where they are. 2. Brontosaurus: It's face looks warped and weird, It's weak compared to other herbivores in my case, and it only has one VERY big (a o e) attack. It may be an amazing berry gatherer and a good mobile base, but that's it. Try giving it a stomp attack where it rears up like a Titanosaur. Maybe give it a better appearance as well. Or possibly add an passive ability where it can become stronger the smaller the opponent. It can have a limit as well. And maybe give it an ability where it can has a garden on it's saddle. Essentially making it a mobile Garden! 3. Stegosaurus: It has the slowest movement speed out of all the rideable herbivores in my opinion, and it only has one attack, and it's walking/running animation is a bit off. Maybe give it an ability where it can grab things like the Kentrosaur. Or maybe give it a buff where the blood flows into the dorsal plates and gives it extra defense, or a speed boost. Or, you can add a pack bonus like Allosaurus. The leader will get a buff and can encourage it's fellow pack mates to fight on with a roar or something. The buff will be a 30 second speed and defense boost. Or an attack boost. If you read this, thank you. Sincerely: A man named Jaiden.

  14. You speak the sad truth, apparently nobody wants to hear, my friend. I agree with you. I really wish they would actually fix ARK, but that doesn't make them money so they probably never will fix it.

  15. As someone with almost 4k hours logged in ARK since when I first bought it at the end of last year, this really saddens me. No more. If this is how things are going to continue to be, if you keep neglecting this game in the name of profit (and neglecting it you are, piling on new DLCs does not a functional game make), then you will have lost at least one customer in me until you seriously start buckling down on these rampant problems infesting your game. I have no qualms with continuing to dink around on Ragnarok, and if I want shiny new creatures from DLCs, that's what mods are for. Y'all should really be ashamed in how you're running the show, but you're not. As long as there are sheep to keep giving you money, you aren't going to learn anything.

  16. So basically you haven't even fixed your 1st halfassed game to leave and screw up another. Leaving up with the broken step children.

  17. I wonder if any of the staff will actually take time to read the comments, that would be appreciated. Well how about you actually spend some real time on Ark now? There are numerous issues with this game and yet it has been a full release for a long time. If the game is having constant lagspikes despite me using high end gaming hardware and the game is filled with bugs, there is definitely something broken with your game. As a customer of yours, I would very much appreciate it if you actually FIXED your fully priced game, instead of releasing buggy half-done DLC and a completely new game which probably will be a bugfest just like Ark. The way you developers have been handling your game the last few years, how can I possibly trust you? Will you actually take the time to respond to anything I have said?

  18. So instead of picking one direction, fix/expand Ark or create a Ark 2, you decided to do both while making extinction (and possible already during aberration) ...... Despite the fact i should be happy that Ark is getting fixes and content still, and despite knowing Atlas was coming thanks to a certain Youtube video, i cant help but feel like i have just been kicked in the nuts ...

  22. New horses, a new hammerhead shark, a whale, dolphins and many mythological creatures like the hydra. It can be a very great news ! Or a very bad one... I just hope that content like those creatures will be available for ARK too. If not it would be a big waste...

  25. Exactly! This has been obvious for a long time. Happend to other teams and games (TW comes to mind). I guess it is, ultimately, our own fault, as players and customers. Each time we bought an expansion we actually voted YES to this kind of treatment from this company. Well, I guess children and fanboys will be happy because of this announcement, because they don't understand or they don't care.

  26. No. Just no. Please, stop. ARK is a mess of a game, riddled with bugs. All those clamoring for more expacs...... stop. Stieglitz and Co have learned nothing. They will take your money and leave you with a hot mess. Are you people really that stupid? They haven't learned anything. Hell, it wasn't his game to begin with! What's truly sad is they haven't any real business sense whatsoever. If you're wise, you learn. No one's learning anything. You want widespread success and, loyalty from PAYING consumers, you put out a good product, fix it when it breaks, communicate with your player base and, continue accepting and implementing what your PAYING, player base asks for. That's how you run a company. Nothing impressive here. Just another EA/Activision/Bethesda hybrid concerned with nothing more than the bottom line. No more content. Let it end.

  27. Atlas won't affect ARK development? Please, don't mislead your customers. The atrocious quality of Exctinction and almost no new meaningful content for past a few months tell it has already affected ARK. You even admit some people from WC works for Atlas, so how does it not affect ARK? Atlas will have the same problems as ARK. Poor optimisation, feature creep, terrible communication between developers and playerbase and flawed core gameplay design. I guarantee Atles will be bloated with redundant features without polishing and then WC 2.0 will move on to add another shiny toy like they had been doing through ARK life cycle... Apprently, they want to found game development with cosmetic MTX... I wonder how exploititive that will be. Bethesda style? 18$ for a armour skin? In PCGamer article you claimed you don't want to make the same mistake which was ignoring your community. There is no faith in you that you can improve to be blunt. Btw. This time make sure your boss didn't break another deal with previous employer(s) ...

  29. *Wildcard introduces Cryopod and Cryofridge* PvE players: this won’t really help *Wildcard announces kibble rework* PvE players: this change will deem dinos pointless and ruin the progression. Also PvE players: Wildcard need to fix tame capped servers.

  30. Lol renameing yourselves grapeshot hopeing new customers wont see the way your company has handle things in the past instead of just doing the right thing and trying to polish ark before you dip out on it is sadly very on brand for wildcard. If anyone had any doubts about exactly why extinction released such a buggy unfinished mess well there's your proof they took everyone with any real talent to work on atlas and left a skeleton crew to handle ark from now on. If you thought tickets/bug fixs were slow before get ready for ALL servers to be treated like legacy.

  32. Xbox - Nitrado Unofficial Server - Extinction Just a quick one tonight went on the hunt for a high level female snow owl in the snow dome. I hit the jackpot and the second owl I find is a 140 female so I lure it to my taming trap and tamed it up. Got it back to my breeding base in Sunken Forest, mated it with the high level male I had and stockpiled some eggs for attempting to get a good breeding pair. I also transfered accross some giga and rex eggs accross from my Ragnarok base. Partly incubated the giga eggs before logging. Might raise a giga or two just to see what happens but I wont raise and imprint until the cryopod imprint issue is sorted.

  33. Im really confused you dislike the idea of having a select few Dino's for kibble and then you suggest a solution that would result in everyone using a select few Dino's. The exact argument you are using to try and make this change look bad is the exact same outcome your solution will have. If you want to make people see it your way don't contradict yourself.

  34. Take a Doed, and take out the lampposts and benches around the city - this should help you run your enforcer and to save up for more - good luck I logged on last night to continue my search for my Enforcer - the bringer of doom. Ok, so not really a bringer of doom but a fun little mechanised robot that I really really want. I fly around on my argy, and kill a few around the city. I manage to trade 1k dust for a pair of crypods and make plans to go tame a few gachas - hoping for the elusive dust Gacha - spoiler alert - I didnt get one After around my 20th enforcer kill, I get a 140 come along. I take it out with high hopes. As I jump down to collect the bobbling package, I already see its only apprentice - meh and its a 132. As I pick it up I was actually quite impressed with the stats - and how cheap?!! Off the top of my head it was 125% HP, 60 S, 85 E, 85 W, 75 MD. It only cost 1727 dust, 100 poly, 200 metal, 50 oil and came out roughly 2100 HP, 1100 S, 345 E, 1100 W and 202 MD so I was impressed with how cheap it was. I gave it a makeover with flame red, blue and black and went out for a blast in the wasteland killing everything I saw. So even though it was only an apprentice - its on par with my tribemates MC and Asc enforcers so I am a happy ARKadian. I podded up 2 more Gachas - both were metal and the normal production types but I hadnt seen raw salt before so that was new - no element Gacha though. It was a good night

  36. Xbox - Nitrado Unofficial Server - Extinction Went on the hunt again for OSDs with my owl. Watched a Blue drop come down just south of the city so I rushed back to base and assembled the OSD team. Ended up having to wait for a meteor storm to finish before leaving the city, glad I wasnt caught out in the wastelands with that. Got out to the blue drop. Quickly set up the defense. Got the three velonasaurs onto turret mode and aggressive and had the hyaenadon war pack anchored onto one of them. Mounted my theri and had two on follow. The drop went without a hitch appart from the fact the velonasaurs werent doing anything, they seemed to refuse to go on aggressive so had to change that manually mid fight. Cleared all 5 waves and got the loot. Loot was a but meh but it was only a blue drop. Spotted a yellow drop just south of where I was, just west of the desert dome so I hightailed it across with the team and set up like before. I knew it was a big jump in difficulty from blue, but my goodness it was a bit hairy at times. It was too much for 3 of my 7 hyaenadons, they died quiet early on, the rest seemed to cope. The two theris took a real beating and I had to get another theri back out of a crypod to cope, should have started with three like the last drop. Had to deal with two enraged trikes but I somehow managed to successfully defend the drop. Again was a bit disappointed with the loot but thats probably just me hoping for too much. I barely started making my way back to base when I got caught out in a meteor storm. It was too far to make a run for the desert dome or the city so had to sit under a cliff in the hope a meteor didnt wipe out my entire team. The meteor storm passed by and I got back to base safely.

  37. Logged in to tame a few female dilos so we can tame an ank and a doed. Ended up grabbing a level 120 direwolf. Tried knocking it out with tranqs but it died, should have brought the owl. Flew to the north to checkout the oil deposits there. Saw a corrupted rex and Giga. Kited the Rex down the mountain. I think the Giga wandered off. Got some Oil and Obsidian, ran from a Corrupted Wyvern and logged for the night after taming 3 dilos. Funny how you login for a specific task and ADD sets in LOL.

  39. Last night I had already resigned myself for playing just the 1hr as I am far too tired at work just now. I logged on Ext and flew around the city looking the holy grail of an enforcer BP. Found a 135 and it was an MC with 120 Health but only 50% damage - killed about 40 in the hr but nothing of any use - claimed a lot of dust though. I started off on my Ptera but I started to realise quite quickly that the higher lvl enforcers start to cause some proper damage after 2 or three fights so I went back and got my new argy out - also gets the healing buff from eating doesnt it so it made more sense. The hr flew by, so tonight I'll be out again... think I would like at least 110% Health and 75+% damage - not sure how rare this would be - also needs to be a lvl 120+ really.

  40. Yes, all us poops complaining about updates that are useless to us since we literally can't even load the game we paid for since extinction came out are just ignorant. Nevermind that they don't even acknowledge there's a problem let alone address it. Lucky you getting to play with your building blocks, that must mean everything is going a-okay for the rest of us too, even though we can only see them via stream and YouTube.

  41. Last night I logged on to see what tribemate had been doing - making gas and a shed ton of it too. We wont be needing any CP or Gas on our Center map now for ages. He had also got himself a nice Enforcer so I was quite jealous. Even though I play a lot, I rarely get a lot of solid time on ARK so taming for me is usually only done when its 2x or if I get a 4-5hr session. I was just flying around killing enforcers for my own nice BP when a 120 Argy flew past, decided to take it down and tribemate came over and helped. During the melee of it all (Ext has big lag)I got tranqed by my tribemate and was slowly just about to drop. I didnt and we got the bugger down. Now this was meant to be an early night for me, but I decided I would stay up for the whole 2hrs and tame it on prime - came out at 167 which will be better than my current level 35 which is now level 130. I wont need much more - an enforcer and my argy and Ill be set until they allow transfers. Still didnt get a decent enforcer BP but it will come.

  43. Unofficial ragnarok- Been a busy few days between trades , event dinos and some breeding Got a few even dinos ( pink rex , lime green spino, lime terror bird, lime and blue wolf , lime and pink yuty , orange and blue bronto, cyan trike and a random ovi) , traded one of my best rexes for 4 eggs ( 2 velos and 2 owls and he tossed in a few allos) so bred 2 rexes a spino and hatched the 2 allos One rex was olive and no mut, one was red with yellow belly no mut but got moms ridiculous melee stat , the spino was bred with new lime and my old dark green , she turned out navy blue with a cyan sail and belly. And the allos both hatched at over 400 but my 330 has equal melee Tomorrow I'll hatch the velos and owls probably post pics too

  44. Unofficial ragnarok- Our server is randomly doing a colour event it's great, tamed a beautiful raptor , a navy blue and red mammoth and a red megatherium. Decided to go on a taming spree instead of searching for rexes and yutys like I been for the past week or so My aussie homies traded me 2 medium level snow owls for a killer spino egg I made , should turn out all green with navy sail at around 330 with 400%melee ..and they gave me a sick velonasaur so I'll toss em a free rex later lol Mammoths are a sloooow tame but definitely worth it , and my mek is soo much fun to stomp around in its craaaazy

  45. Not buying this like I didn't buy Extinction, Abberation, or Scorched Earth since your company has either been too lazy, too petty, or too ignorant to make the flyer nerf properly optional. Your people were even scummy enough to lie a few times that Ini. settings would eventually get implemented. (You people can scrub mentions of it off here, but you can't scrub it off google.)

  46. I completely disagree. Many players, not just you, have the attitude that a dino tamed for eggs is useless; this is illogical. The use is for eggs which is a use. There are like 100+ dinos in the game and if this change happens in this way then you will only need 6. That make rather large groups of dinos that have similar egg types. You will only need one of them and everyone will figure out which one is the best one to keep and all the other dino's in that group will be ignored. Even if they have other uses unless what they do it vital they will be excluded from gameplay. Six dinos will give you access to all dinos and you still think that passes for progression? This is just dumbing down the gameplay which is insulting to all those who had to do it the hard way for the last few years. As far as dinos sitting around that was really only needed for a time. Once you accumulate a couple stacks of eggs you do not need them anymore. Now with the cryopods you can put them away without the need to tame them again in the future because you can take them out if you run low until you are stocked up again. I am all for improvements and streamlining things but this comes across as a hatchet job. I feel that one way they could do this and retain some of the progression would be to make all the dinos in a given group have a different value to their egg quality. If you use the easiest dino with the lowest quality eggs then it will take more of their eggs to make the same amount of kibble and conversely, if you use the hardest dino in a group with the highest quality eggs then it less of their eggs to make their size of kibble. If they don't do at least something like this then I feel this change will, in the long term, have a bad effect on the gameplay. Only ever using and breeding 6 dinos will get boring very quickly.
