  1. I can understand some of your points. I find that our main server (PvE Center60) is very friendly and helpful. Not overly talkative but friendly enough when needing any trades etc For me, the whole ARK experience is seeing other people bases and dinos so it gives me something to aim at and to try and get to know people. I didnt manage to get on last night - had to work late due to some major incidents but I have booked the night off from the wife tomorro night to get a good ARK session in and hopefully picking up my base 500 melee Anky from a friend.

  3. Xbox - Nitrado Unofficial Server - Aberration Tonight I started the effort to collect the artifacts, with tonight aiming foe the Artifact of the Depths in the Old Railway Cave. So I geared up, jumped on the rock drake and travelled to the cave. Put down a storage box and sleeping bags at the cave entrance. While I knew this cave was the easiest of the three on Aberration, it was still much easier than I expected. Pretty sure the last time I did this on my last server I just got shredded by ravagers and never set foot in it again lol. Took the ravager squad and cleared out the first chamber. I left the main squad here and took one ravager and used zipline anchors to get to the artifact, avoiding the creavas with all the nastys. Aggroed what I could over a cliff using a sniper and walked my way to the artifact letting my shotgun doing most of the talking from the back of the ravager. Farmed the artifact for a bit filling up a storage box at the cave entrance, collected 10 artifacts in total. Also tamed a level 80 glowtail, need to work on getting high level ones. Then of course I had to start running back and forth between the cave and my base to move the artifacts. Had a scare when my main drake glitched into the ground at my base and it got stuck there. Thankfully I had another drake I could use to continue the relay and I left the other on follow in the hope it worked its way out, which thankfully it did. Transfered 4 of the artifacts across to Ragnarok for posterity, installing one in the breeding barn. I think I am going to need to prep much more for the other two artifacts. Its probably going to be another case of breeding ravagers inside the Hidden Grotto for the Artifact of the Shadows. For the Artifact of the Stalker I'll first of all need to find the Elemental Vault and hopefully a rock drake should suffice for it. Honestly the game really did test my patiences tonight. I dont think the game bothered with many if any textures at all tonight and the rock drake mechanics seem to muck up as well which is probably a related issue. Cant help thinking is it my xbox or is it the game or both. Honestly looking forward to seeing how the Switch copes with the game considering my xbox apparantly cant cope, should be a good laugh.

  4. PS4 - The Island - Single Player I've been sick for a couple days, so have been working from home instead of going into the office. But amazingly, though I no longer had the wasted time during commute home, I still did not play much ARK. Getting closer to taking a extended break I think. Anywhoo, I played on my new single player character on The Island. It is the same map that I first played the game on 2 years ago, and all of that old character dinos and buildings are there. I'm tempted to admin command to take ownership of that stuff, but I keep fighting the urge, as I want to play it honest and earn my way up. Last couple nights I went out looking for some resource dinos ... meaning a Doed and Anky. I found a decent Doed not far from base and tamed her up then brought her back to base. On the way back, I spotted a Baryonx not far from my base, and so I picked it up with my Argy and dropped it into a group of rocks next to a cliff ..... the rocks kind of trapped the Bary, and I was able to tame him up. Now I have some water transport. Later another Bary spawned in the same area, too close to my base, so I tamed it up too, but this one I couldn't drop in the rocks correctly, so I ended up chasing it all over with my Argy, finally got it to drop. lower level, but he can body guard the first Bary. I then spent most of the evening looking for an Anky .... amazing how whenever you want one, you can't find one. However finally found a few, and the highest level one was also a green event color. I picked it up, and found a safe spot in some rocks to drop it and KO it. While it was taming, I noticed a level 96 argent not far away. I have yet to see anything higher than a level 80 Argent before, so After much trying and failing, I finally got it knocked out. I normally build and use a trap for Argies. but since I was out looking for Anky and not Argy, I didn't have a trap materials with me. As soon as I put food into the ARGY, and level 72 Ptera lands right next to me. (considering my current Ptera was a level 24 pre-tame,) I bola and drop that too. FInally I take the new Argy, Ptera and Anky up to the Blue OB and upload them. I then fly my original Argy all the way back to my base on the South end .... keeping an eye out for other dinos I want along the way. But I fear I have hit that wall again .... it is fun starting from scratch, but now I'm already seeing boring times ahead. So I think I have to stop talking about it, and just it. I need to get back on Ragnarok and raise that Rex army to make boss runs. I'm just going to focus on that (I think) for a while.

  5. Xbox - Nitrado Unofficial Server - Aberration I really need to start taking more holidays, the last week has been a blast, darn this thing called 'work'. Even taking a break from Ark was great haha. Started off by hatching up two of the 175 drake eggs I had nabbed from the trench. To no surprise they both came out the exact same, pity about the health, 4k is a bit low but I'll take it. Also bred up a ravager, needed a female for breeding purposes. Got lucky on the first attempt and got a female. Raised up the drakes and the ravager, and fully imprinted the drakes. Then moved on to the next plan, I really need to make moves to actually progress through Aberration. Took the new female ravager and a male out to the Old Railway Cave. Going to try and use ravagers to help me clear out the cave to get the artifact and also some glowtails. Am still a bit dubious about leaving dinos in caves, never got my head round the various settings on if theyll just despawn but I beleive it should be fine. So I bred the ravagers at the mouth of the cave and led the babys in. Got 6 babys into the cave (4 males and 2 females). Had issues getting females for the mate boost, they all kept popping out males. Started killing babies if they were not females, but I eventually got lucky on 2. Had a similiar problem with my first batch of spinos a while back. They all came out male, I swear theres a male bias on Aberration lol. Just for the giggles, I went back down into the drake trench for some more eggs. Only got one 175 egg this time along with a nice 170, the rest were low levels, but I kept them for kibble/basilisks. The 55 and 25 nests are of course still going strong. Made my escape before my first set of hazard gear broke. Quickly checked to make sure the ravagers in the cave had fully matured before logging.
