  1. Xbox - Private Nitrado server - Ragnarok Spent the last few days breeding some ravagers, therizinosaurus, and Bulldogs. Got some cool ravager mutations but not much else. Frustrated since my friend started breeding his mesopithecus and got 4 mutations out the 7 times he bred. He proceeded to tell me that I must not have bred much as he thinks that mutations are as common as he just got them. Grrr. I want a full blue Bulbdog so bad.

  2. Did some finishing touches on my breeding area, went for a few runs to see if I can find anything to tame then was AFK cleaning the house. @AngrySaltire stopped by my place and we bred up our Megas, learnt that a) Mega eggs hatch at room temp and b) they only incubate for 3 minutes lol. Went back to a few baby megas running around. We each got a mega baby, breeding pairs and a few eggs. I mated him a few bulbdogs and gave him one of my extras then he went off on his way. Popped a few eggs and went off for a bit. Got on later and raised a few more eggs, did some base work and turned around to see a 145 pure red spino, trapped and tranqed it. After that was done I took my new bred imprinted mega out for a spin. Killed all the spawns then after I was at my base spotted a 135 Red/White crab. Ive been trying to get an event crab so just my luck Tamed out nice, parked it at base then logged for the night

  3. Hey Survivors! Welcome to the latest edition of the Community Crunch! Extinction Chronicles IV Next Week! On September 18th Extinction Chronicles IV will be released on all platforms. As usual survivors can expect a new tek dino, new Explorer Notes, a new cosmetic, increased level cap, and special colored dinos on all ARKs! Developer Diaries! This weeks diary entry is brought to you by Lead Programmer, Chris Willoughby, as he talks about the process for designing gameplay mechanics for Extinction. Upcoming Server Maintenance! This Wednesday, September 12th at 12pm EST we will be merging the PC ARKpocalypse servers into one cluster. It is important for players on those servers to note that during this process any items or creatures uploaded into the Obelisk will be lost. Therefore it is strongly encouraged that you download anything in your cloud to ensure nothing is lost before Wednesday. You can follow us on Twitter to keep up-to-date with this server process. Mod Community Updates! The ARK Modding contest is now in full swing, and we've been getting some good entries, but I still want to encourage anyone that has ever considered making mods for ARK to dive in and participate. The submission period will be open until Saturday, October 6th so polish up those mods and let's have some fun. After that, we'll move into the voting phase where we'll post all the mods in the contest publicly and let everyone try them out and vote on their favorites. We've also received a couple tutorial bounty claims for chat commands and map optimizations and I have added a bunch of new bounties to the board ready to be claimed. You can find all of them here: We're going to need some new tutorial requests too, and please check the list in the form to see if the request already exists, as I choose new bounties based on demand which can only be counted if everyone submits the form using one of the items from the drop-down. Next week I'll have a new tutorial ready. I've been getting a ton of requests for a tutorial on version control, so I'm going to show everyone how to use Git with the devkit. Happy modding! The Great Migration #4: Inactive Legacy Server Removal Once again it is time to remove some of our lower population legacy ARK servers on Xbox and PS4 from our Official legacy network. Over time the ARK population has migrated from legacy to non-legacy and in its wake left many servers with low populations for 0-1 players in a significant amount of cases. Here is a quick breakdown on how this process works: Taking Down Low Pop Servers With calculations based on sustained player-count as well as the popularity of game mode, we will be removing lower population legacy servers, most of which retain a 0-1 player concurrent population. These servers will be taken offline on September 24th. Any existing server that is not considered a low pop server and is not taken down at this time will still exist on the Legacy network. Legacy servers will continue to remain on a separate cluster from the new cluster, which means you will not be able to transfer anything between Legacy servers and the new servers. Servers Up for Deprecation Below is a complete list of the LEGACY servers that will be deprecated come September 24th. You have from now until then to move your belongings onto a server not present on this list. Please click one of the links below. They are separated by platform. How To Move Servers If you are unfamiliar with the process, you are able to upload your items, creatures, and player through the Obelisk terminal, supply drops, as well as the Tek Transmitter. Survivors are advised to use Cross-ARK immediately to relocate their belongings onto a server that is not included in our take-down list above. Server Saves of Deleted Servers We will make the save files available as soon as we can. We will host the PC files which anyone can download and then you are welcome to re-host the save file for your own use. We'll include a link to where you can download server saves in this post when they are available. Nitrado will also be able to provide the saves for use on Nitrado servers for console, as they have done in the past. You can see a list of our currently available depreciated official servers on this webpage: https://survivetheark.com/index.php?/server-backups/ Community Livestream #8 This Thursday! This Thursday September 13th the community team will be doing another biweekly livestream! During these livestreams Zen Rowe, Chris, and Jen bring you ARK news, celebrate modding, and the community as a whole every other week. We mix it up between playing ARK, showing off mods, and showing off your community creations for all to see. Survivors are invited to join us in the chat (and sometimes even in-game) to play and talk with the community team. 5. Xbox - Nitrado Unofficial Server - Aberration Went on the hunt in the blue zone. No luck with any megas or shinehorns. Went back to base. Decided to transfer across some high level dimorph eggs from Ragnarok. Hatched up the lot, kept 3 aside for breeding more eggs if need be and the other 10 will be my new dimorph attack squad. Want to see if I can use them to help me out in the glowtail cave to get some glowtails and even get to the artifact. Also bred up a few bulbdogs so I had a few disposable ones. Quickly built up a small dino barn to keep the dimorphs in as well as anything else I can fit in there. Went back out to the blue zone. Still scouting out potential metal outposts but I appear to be a bit picky. Found a few likely contenders but still deciding on ot. On the way out of the blue zone I finally find a 135 female shinehorn, so I tamed it up and took it back to base. Back into the blue zone for more hunting. Wiped out all the shinehorns and megas I could find. Just as I gave up hope, again just before leaving the blue zone I stumbled into a 140 male mega. So I quickly got down the pitfall trap I had been carrying on the spino and lured the mega into the trap, knocked it out and waited for it to tame up with kibble. Took it back to base. Got lucky with the health with 8659.3 which is higher than I have with my current breeding pair. Unfortunatly the melee is only 296 but I guess I cant get lucky with all the stats lol. Now all I need to do is breed my new male with the female I have and get the good hp with the good melee into a new breeding pair. But thats for another night.

  6. PS4 - Single Player - The Island After a while, I got back on to ARK, but on a different map. I got on The Island on my single player game. I hadn't been on this character/map for months. Was flying around on a Ptera, when I came upon a building, then I realized it was my Thylacoleo breeding barn. So I stop in, and took a while to re-acquaint myself with my breeders. Then I remembered, that I was trying to get an all hot pink Thyla. I had Pink Spine, and Pink Body, and Pink Belly, but was having trouble getting them all to combine. Finally got that, but along the way, got multiple other color mutations and after hours of playing, so many Thylas, that my game was lagging. Got many colors and combinations, and am not finished. Once I get that project done, I will spilt up the Thylas amongst my varies characters and maps, and kill of the remaining ones. I then switched over to the Ragnarock Nitrado server that I had rage quit earlier in the day. This time, I loaded up a bunch of my Tek Stegos, and a few other event colored dinos, and switched over to my Rag single player game. down-loaded those dinos, and will eventually get them all organized into the barn I built last month. But since it is SP, I can leave them in the main yard for now, and they will be safe. I did find and tame a all Red with grey spikes level 150 female Doed. I will breed that with my level 145 All white with Red Spikes female, and hope to get all red on red. Then I had to attend to other business the rest of the evening Saturday, so logged off for the weekend.

  7. I would just like to say well done Devs. All i see on here is complaining it seems. Nobody is requiring anyone to play ark mobile. Yall have done a wonderf job bringing ark to life on a phone. I think people are losing sight of the fact you brought an entire massive pc game to a phone that can be with us anywhere we want always convenient. Thank you for working so hard on a game that has given me a new entertaining challenge. There is always something to complain about but a game is just that a GAME and yet its treatsd as a core part of our day. Great job devs. The mechanics, graphic, gameplay, and your diligence in the continuation of updates and improvement is not only appreciated but admired. Thank you.

  10. I was looking for the best way to solo tame a quetz... turns out I need a tapajara for this. So I set out to find myself a tapajara and while it looks simple to get, in the place I am right now it looks impossible due to all the troodons, raptors and other not so funny dinos. so this was not such a succes yet... so I have been working on my base again, its massive now. This was last week or so:

  11. Did nothing special this week, got to much work to do. But Friday a lvl 80 Direwolf spawned inside my SE Base. Tranqued him and feeded him Prime Meat whenever i found it. Stood up with Level 109. I will transfer him to The Island. He will be my first Cave Runner. I need to tame a male Carno on Aberration, 3 females now but only 2 eggs in Weeks. I should tame then on the Island too i believe. Prepared all for Crop Plots and Kibble. Fabricated an Industrial Cooker and metal Water Pipes for The Island. At the weekend i was farming fish on Aberration as i saw a 145 Karkinos. Ilas it was Saturday, it was taming day. Grabbed the Boat, shoot the tranq dart to lure the crab into the boat and knocked her out. Bit by bit my Base is getting to small for all the Tames. Tamed another 2 female Dilos on The Island which gone for a walk near my base. Level 10 and 90. First Smoke House is full with fertilized Dilo Eggs. Realy need to make Crop Plots and Smoke Meat. Placed the Crop plots and the Water. Noticed if the Water is 2 Walls higher as the plots, they dont get water. I dont understand that, but placed all Water Pipes 1 wall lower and all is fine now. Uploaded on SE the Sabertooth and 2 DireWolf. Now my Coworker can Explore the Island ( until he run into his first Alpha, they are everywhere on South 2). No time this Week to breed all the Spino Eggs this week again. Was hoping i have time and can crossbreed the Magenta Spinos with the Spino with the Pink Belly. And i have 2 bought Eggs from another tribe with much more Melee.

  12. Spent most of my time building my new expansion, a side yard just out of render if main base to house my main breeding area. Two birds one stone, frees up room in main building and clears up a bit of the lagg. Made it 6x14 and 9 high, with a 4 high upper area for storing all my ravagers. Built a few breeding pens on the side and an Ovis breeding pen to catch the babies. First babies were mutated green! Also tamed a few things, another 140 ravager and a 145 spino. The ravager got higher food and the spino has higher hp and melee than mine Edit: Also tamed a 130 Iguanadon but it died by the 140 ravager I tamed on its first thatch run lol

  15. Did the usual metal farm (gotta love rolling in those ingots!) and spent a good hour rescuing my tribemates from themselves. "uhhhh I just downed this quetzal but I have no narcs on me....heyyyyyy... can you bring me some? In like 5 minutes because I didn't notice until now? Oh, and it's in the murder snow, so i'll need fur gear too, 'cause I'm dying..." But yeah, building mostly.

  16. Xbox - Nitrado Unofficial Server - Aberration Started of by going out on the crab once again to look for some high level ravagers with no luck at all. All really low levels. Did a bit of resource gathering and crafted up some pitfall traps to install on certain places. Decided it was about time to go exploring in the blue zone on my spino and I crafted up a hazard suit just for protection against the shrooms. Was out looking for high level megalosauruses and shinehorn as well as scouting out a potential place to install a metal mining outpost. Unfortunately I forgot the Z seeds but didnt find any high level shinehorns anyway. Killed of a bunch of low level megas and eventually found a 125 males. Its a bit lower than I would like but its a good start to the mega taming, so I put down a trap close by the mega. Kiting the thing all the way to the trap was a little bit scary and really did get the blood pumping as I did it on foot. It got a few good hits on me and I was lucky its didnt try a grab attack as it would have just shredded me and my bulbdog. Got it in the trap and downed it. Tamed it up with kibble, yet it still took ages even with the boosted rates. Towed it back to base and called it a night.

  17. Sure, if you can upload the library-file somewhere, not sure if you can send files via pm here. Just another question, do you use the autosave and autoload-feature (for sharing the library with other players via a cloud-service)? This could decrease the performance further. Only creatures that have a top-stat are marked green. If no male is highlighted green, none of your males have a stat that would be worth for breeding, i.e. you can take any male and breed it with a green female and hope that all or at least many stats are passed on only by the female (because the male only has bad ones). If there is a male among the offspring that inherited one top-stat of the female, it will be hightlighted green as well. Even if you kill all creatures that are not green and are left with no males, that would be no loss regarding top-stats. If you take a low-level male and continue breeding with that, that would not lower the probability or quality of the goal to breed a creature with all the top-stats (because there was no male with a worth top-stat anyway). Regarding the weighting, what exactly do you mean? The posted values seem to be good if you focus on the common wanted stats, but others might want different weightings. You can save and load weighting-presets (right-click on the weighting-control) to have different sets for different species.

  18. Spent last night breeding my Ravagers again. Combined all my stats to 250 birth and then got melee and weight mutations. Set up my ravagers to breed and went to make dinner.. Queue 2 hours later when I remembered I left my xbox on. I came back to my breeding pen stuffed with over 50 ravagers. They were wild breeding and I spent an hour claiming and killing them. Got some mutations out of it and some new high levels, 254 birth and even a 256 but accidently killed it Logged off and watched the first Tomb Raider with the wife (that shower scene..) Got on for a bit later, had a lot of extra ravagers I didnt kill so I set up a tame group of 9 ravagers and took em down for a massacre of blue zone. I spent a few hours killing everything, I was very surprised that the pack unsaddled took down everything and only one loss. There should be a lot of Mega spawns now, killed over 20. When I got back up to fertile I set the pack on wander and aggresive and let them free. My wandering spino has been doing great, keeping spawns fresh. These will do even better! Got back to base and expanded a little, gated off a side yard, set up some plantx and aggressive dimos/bear tether. Moved all my breeder spinos over there and rearranged my base a bit. Its getting too big and ive been getting kicked upon login so this will help with that a lot.

  19. Was on for a bit last night. Went out for my usual 'just got on dino massacre' and half way through it found a 140 femalw ravager. Took her back to tame, along the way saw a 140 bulbdog, grabbed that too. The ravager rolled with higher hp and stam then my line, bulbdog with high charge. Tamed a 130 abb dire bear outside my base then started breeding bulbdogs and ravagers. Our bulbdogs were 241 hatch prior to this, after combining in the new charge cap theyre 244. The ravagers started around 225 and after my breeding marathon got them to 245 hatch. Need to find some better melee for ravagers and keep looking for bulbdog stats.

  20. Nope no PC kill list this round! PC has fewer legacy servers compared to PS4 and Xbox. After analyzing the numbers there were no PC servers that met any of our cutoffs so we opted to keep them all active for this round. That's not to say there won't be any in the future though as it's all about whether people are playing on the maps or not, but they're safe for now -- Oh, I also pinned the topics. Thanks for the reminder, they were meant to be pinned!

  21. Went into the Caverns of Lost Hope with an Aquatic Army at my back, 10 Megalodons all Lvl 300+ 10 Sarcos all Lvl 300+ 10 Baryonyxs all Level 300+ We murdered everything in that cave.....until we swam around a corner and found ourselves facing a Level 140 Alpha Tuso. Needlees to say we got rekt by the Alpha Tuso. But we managed to kill it and retrieve the Artifact of the Cunning. I left the cave with only 7 survivors. 3 Megalodons and 4 Baryonyxs.

  22. I went after a 145 Event colored female Quetz on Saturday. She was beautiful Red, White and Black. First spotted her by the Wyvern scar on Ragnarok, and spent the first 10 minutes trying to keep her from flying towards the murder snow, while I kept tranqing her. But eventually, she made a run for the snow, and would not turn back. I got her stuck in the side of a tiny cliff/hill in the snow. I scoped out the area, and there was nothing but pack of wolves in the area. So I killed them, and then went back to the Quetz (still stuck) to finish KO'ing it. I finally got it knocked out, I scan the area again, and the coast is clear as far as I can see. So I go over to the Griffin to grab some spike walls to put down, when suddenly I hear a Yuty roar ..... I look around and a Yuty comes out of the woods from far away, but chasing a a dino. The stupid galli runs directly at me and the quetz., now I had to make a choice to attack the Yuty, or try to put down the spike walls. I decided I had to divert the Yuty first, so I jump on my Griffin, but just as I do, the Yuty sees me, and roars. Well my Griffin of course freaks out, and it takes me on a wild ride. I gain control again, but I am not sure where I am (still in the murder snow) I circle back to where I thought I had dropped the Quetz, but cannot find either the Q or the Yuty. I then spent the next 25 minutes flying every inch of the snow region, and never found the either. I was so freaking mad, that I rage quit. ??
