  1. Happy Patch Day, Survivors! It's Tuesday and ARK's latest update is going live just as this announcement is being posted. In celebration of the patch today we're sharing what we have been working on: some brand new previews of our upcoming expansion pack ARK: Extinction. Check out the images below for a sneak peak at what you can expect to see on planet Earth! In Extinction, Earth has become an Element-infested planet filled with fantastical creatures both organic and technological. Element has ravaged the planet and corrupted both the landscape and some of its inhabitants, causing mutations in the creatures and plants that can be found there. We look forward to sharing more in the months ahead as we work towards our Extinction release! Our Extinction Chronicles III event is going on right now, including new Corrupted skin, Explorer Notes, and Tek dinos. You can read all about it in yesterdays Community Crunch announcement:

  3. You never sprint on a Giga thats why its slow walk is still faster than rexs and such. It's bite radius is so huge makes an excellent meat runner. Also use it to kill alphas near ur base and such. Other than that it isnt much use

  4. Yeah, it can't cover large ground, it gets tired very easily, and what most disappointing is the domesticated level doesn't help much, the addition per level is too low.

  5. Finally got my dung beetle. Took a second argent all the way to the desert from Oluf Jungle and tamed a lvl 37. Only managed to die once when an anthropleura came out of nowhere (I looked all around before I set down) leading 3 vultures with it. Glad I placed a bed close by. Finished the tame and began the long flight home with the dung beetle safely in my argents clutches. He's now in his wooden cage next to my blue phiomia. That really should not have taken as long as it has. I'm not sure whether to start the next dino project (Rex breeding) or begin construction on the second phase of my base. Kind of torn between rexes or theras for my boss team.

  6. Didn't do too much yesterday. Well, that's already an overstatement, I barely did anything at all lol. Took the newly raised 180 Lightning Wyvern out for a spin and killed 2 dozen Brontos, 10 Spinos, 20 some odd Rexes and unumerable smaller Dinos that got in the way. Leveled Acnalogia to 220 with 20k HP, 1.5k Stam and 350% melee. Did all that in about 30 minutes then logged off for much needed sleep lol. `

  7. Spent some time hunting for some otters. Went around the spawns with my bary and ichyornis in the hope of finding a high level otter, maybe even a blue event coloured one before the colours change with the new extinction chronicle. Took a while to find the first one, but eventually started finding them. Ended up just jumping between the two spawns I know by green ob. First couple were low level males but I tamed them anyway because they took so long to find. Finally lucked out on a 135 male, it was even an event coloured one, but absolutely ugly, blue belly and greyish on top. Bred the dimorphs again. Got the hp and mellee stat onto one dimorph, now to get stats with the colour I want , black with blue highlights from one of thw other dimorphs I have. Finally managed to hatch a male with the stats and the colours but still need a female. Started crafting up some more taming traps. Looking to install one or two into the snow biomes to start taming yutys and maybe even rhinos. Never tamed a rhino before but apparantly they are good at the boss fights so what the heck, if nothing else itll be fun.

  8. It was a wild weekend for me (official ps4 pve). Birthed event reapers on abberation, hatched a few gigas on island, raised some thylas on ragnarok (in the ice cave to farm the queen). Tamed this 150 equus.... so great!

  9. Already tons of players have quit and this sort of "update" is why. you remove my pillars that are keeping the food source available within range without me having to run a mile on a giga wasting even more of my real life time, we rarely leave our section of the map that my allies and i have saved from being a bluescreen mess due to the fact that when we do we end up dead due to bluescreen drowning or wild dinos whilst trying to load back in. first sign i see of some rectangular wood box lagzone base that own 3 dinos total appear by me or any of my local farming spots i'm quitting and taking any friends i can to a game where the developers actually listen to its players rather then restricting them. You are killing any fun or enjoyment this game had with these fixes, this is a bad idea not a solution that causes far more issues than is remedys. If there are no meat spawns or dinos to tame due to noob builds what reason do loyal players have to stay? the constant time out/bluescreens that you blame on psn even now the fact you have even considered this *update* is laughable and makes us all wonder who exactly comes up with ideas of what to fix, all the issues this game still has and you decide on this, how about you fix the frame rate issues. bluescreens or wild dino kiting that useless players do. i had dinos killed by players with wild wyverns and provided screenshots of them doing it and there names to you and nothing came of it. Wildcard is becoming a joke as much time as i have put into this game, as much as i have enjoyed logging on to raise and build. unfortunately i will have to let it go and move on because this is just more of the same disappointments time after time. Thanks guys

  12. If the pillars go you may need to consider expanding the no build radius between tribes and make more no build zones to ensure there will still be dino spawns. This is main reason most players use the pillar method.

  13. My streak of poor fortune continues. Decided to load up an argent and go to the desert in search of a dung beetle. Halfway there I spot a red beacon with the gold ring. I land, claim my goodies (a C4 detonator blueprint and a mammoth saddle) and die immediately to a 145 smilodon and friends. My mount quickly follows. RIP Cloud Dancer, my first blue and grey argent. At least she had offspring in her colors already.

  14. Instead of increasing auto decay, how about just make it so that the ladder/pillar combo can be demolished after a certain amount of time? If someone wants to keep an area pillared they will have to rebuild the pillars all the time. feedback?

  16. Great so instead of making pillars with ladders that do not affect (and often protect) resource spawns, people will now (have to) build small houses that will block them...
