  1. ARK Official Launch Trailer! For those of you who missed us this morning on the Twitch at Gamescom livestream, we just premiered the official launch trailer for ARK: Survival Evolved! Watch it below! The past two years have been one heck of a journey for all of us. Millions of ARK players worldwide have built gigantic bases, captured and trained armies of dinosaurs, crafted armories full of weapons and eaten billions of pounds of berries. With your help, we are days away from releasing the full ARK: Survival Evolved game to the world! Come August 29th we'll be entering the next phase of our journey and exit early access. Players who have been with us throughout this early access program and were excited with the launch of each update have even more reason to be excited post-launch! ARK will continue to grow with new content at launch and beyond as we continue to have a behemoth amount of additional gameplay, creatures, and story elements in the works. The adventure has truly only just begun! With every Explorer Note you've discovered on the Island a piece of the story has come along with it. Every artifact, every apex drops, every boss battle, it has all been leading up to this moment. Now it's time to understand the bigger picture and begin to discover why every Survivor wakes up on the beach with a diamond shaped implant in their arm. Are you ready for what's in store? Will you be strong enough to take on the challenges ahead? Do you, your tribe, and your army have what it takes to reach Ascension? Only time will tell... The launch trailer also features the first in-game footage for the two newest critters to the Island, the playful Otter and the fiery Phoenix. This furry little Otter makes a cozy companion that can ride around on your shoulders and can help retrieve silica pearls for you! The flaming Phoenix bursts into fire with the heat of the desert. Operating at impossible temperatures, this legendary flyer can cook resources just by holding them. Perhaps it could even be ridden, if somehow one could acquire gear fireproof enough to withstand the flames blazing across its feathers. Lastly, we get our first look at the Tek Shield and Tek Sword in action! The sword is capable of a dash-charge attack and has armor piercing capability, while the shield can reflect incoming projectiles and bullets, and can completely stop splash damage! ARK Live Original Soundtrack! We are also very excited to announce that the pre-order for the live soundtrack recorded live at Abbey Road is now available! Watch the behind-the-scenes teaser video below. Composed by Gareth Coker, the official soundtrack album will be released August 29th via digital and streaming outlets worldwide through Sumthing Else Music Works. The soundtrack is also included in the Collectors Edition of ARK. You can pre-order the soundtrack right now! https://www.sumthing.com/p/ark/

  3. Look at it from this perspective for a moment, you work for or own studio wilcard a company that has invested millions into a game and you have to protect your investment. Now you've allowed people to play your game for over two years and they have helped you improve your game by exposing exploits, bugs, glitches, flaws and weaknesses in security. You realize people have exposed game breaking things that could potentially negatively affect the official release of the game (remember we all are playing an unofficially released game right now. We'll circle back to that later). I imagine that at this point studio wilcard has realized that the old server which will become legacy servers could potentially negatively affect the official release of the game. All of the exploits, glitches, security weaknesses Duping, DDOS attack etc. could discourage new players from the official release from ever playing the game again. Not to mention all the high-level players on each server that practically control the servers. So what do you do now? Do you continue to run the game as is, just to keep people already playing the game happy but run the risk of the game becoming so buggy, glitchy, exploited, hacked, DDOS attacked that it is unplayable or do you make the decision to improve the game before its official release and learn from your mistakes so people can continue to play it and enjoy it. Cause remember when we started playing the game before the official release this very this was a reality we all knew we could face one day. Now everyone is giving studio wildcard and these developers a hard time instead of thanking them for allowing you to help build a successful game that you enjoyed playing so much. I guarantee these decisions were not made lightly but they were the right decisions to help secure the future of the game. I'm looking forward to going back and starting over and grinding out to become a top player on a server making new alliances and enemies. I still get on and play just for the fun of it even after finding out I won't be able to transfer my stuff while others have given up on the game altogether. I know of too many tribes that were stock piling any thing and everything they could just to go take over a server and they are now pissed cause they cannot. To believe they are not concerned about customer support shows just how ignorant and uneducated you really are. But by all means, go ahead and continue to complain about studio wildcard because you lost all your imaginary stuff. They listened to fans of their games for over two years and made a great game and I cannot wait to see where they take it next. I hope they continue to make better improvements to the game and continue to listen to their fans while taking into consideration the things that could affect the game in a negative way.

  4. LEGACY SERVERS without support? Players treated as trash!!! NEGATIVED IN STEAM! I never buy anything from these studios again.

  5. I'm just curious, everywhere I go I see people complaining about the treatment of us legacy players. It makes sense though, with everything the player base has delt with up till and especially now. Is wildcard going to give anything to it's legacy players, that would be usable on the new clusters? I know it isn't much, but; The skins we have unlocked? New skins? Came back that holds food and water for longer? Idk I'm just throwing stuff out there. I just feel like some type of compensation should be given to the people that have continued to endure. Rather then destroying everything the worked for and giving them nothing.

  6. Well, to be honest i was expecting things won't go as WC promised, but this is just too much. Yeah, the game is in pre-release, you can do pretty much what you want, even wipe every server, and even if a lot of players would have had a problem with that, this is not the issue here. Lying to your customers on the other hand, IS, even if telling the truth would have meant a lot of the players would have stopped investing time in a lost cause and just found something else to play. Yes, the game would have dropped a bit in popularity rankings but you would have earned the respect of the players in the long term, people would know that if you say "from now on we going to do this and that" it would be the real deal, instead you chose the easy way out. So, 1 month prior warning turned into 5 days and COMPLETE SUPPORT turned into "meh, dupe, cheat all you want, we don't really care, no more support for you". Not that support was too great in the first place, as we had people in our tribe lose 105 chars and getting no response in 1-2 months, we showed documented evidence of other people cheating out in the open and nothing was done either and many other issues i am sure most of you came across and got ignored by support. So now, after all of this, we should just trust WC's word for it that the new servers will be dupe/ddos free, the support is gonna be sensational and all will be better than it was before? This incompetence of solving the real issues of the game so far and the total lack of respect for the suckers that bought and supported this game early on is just too much.

  7. LOL they are dropping support because the ones that are on the Legacy servers more then likely have duped crap ...if you didnt dupe it then someone else did ...why would they help the ones that exploited bugs when "they were only doing it to show how broken it was so WC would fix it?" you were not helping you were hurting the game and destroying the community because you couldnt play a game legitly. i know, no one duped it was all a lie LOL if you want support that bad join the new servers and start fresh like the ones that didnt/couldnt play with all the cheating going on in the Legacy servers. if you didnt cheat and you had so much stuff then it shouldnt be that hard to get back to where you were on the old servers. and yes my SE server is on the cut list but they can delete the character as i dont plan on playing on those cancerous servers anymore ill just play on the new servers with the new bugs and exploits

  8. So it means you guys said we would have like a month to move and it's changed into a week, you also said that it would be 10% of the servers it's now 33%. Oh and i have a ticket open since the beginning of august cause i lost my character who was tribe owner, but apparently i wont ever get back my tribe even if my server wont be deleted. Seriously you just keep failing at everything you guys say....

  10. http://Two years of Ark day in and day out , I lost my tribemates, I lost my servers all three of them, I lost the game I and alot of people love. I think I speak for my entire server with our 4 days notice when I say ?????? U Wildcard. Thanks once again you burned the people who have stuck it out with you. Your reputation is already shaky at best but I'm sure this will help you sell more copies of the game ...no no , after this I'm sure alot of people will have great things to say , because let's face it yall always make things right.....pardon the sarcasm....

  11. "we will no longer offer Customer Support to these Legacy servers" Wildcard you are truly a bunch of morons. You could of charged us Legacy players for a Ragnarok DLC and we would of gladly payed it. We would of bought DLC after DLC. Instead you, in your own %^$#&ard way, tell all Legacy players that all the hard work they have done in the past 9 months has become a burden for you and you no longer wish to support them. You have made it clear that you wish us legacy players would just go away and play a different game. The people that will buy your game on full release will be few, compared to those that have already paid for it. You could of made much more money from us, but with this one act you have just lost the majority of your player base.

  12. Wow, I can't believe they will no longer be offering customer support to Legacy servers. We helped BUILD this player base and your game and you are going to shaft us like that? That is pretty messed up to be honest. Shame on you Ark.

  13. This is some of the Dirtiest Stuff wildcard has done (which is saying alot) They wait until 5 days before they delete the servers to present this list. Then they announce that 33% of all servers will be deleted instead of the previously announced 10%. Wildcard is one of the worse gaming companies I have come across.

  14. So legacy won't get the DDoS protection or better transfering only the new cluster? Way to take a huge dump on the players that got you through to launch and tested your game for you. Good to know that the players that took a gamble and bought a game preview and did your testing for you aren't as important as the ones that waited until the dirty work was done to purchase the game.

  15. As we have previously mentioned in July, today marks the beginning of the process of removing our lower population ARK servers on PC, Xbox, and PS4. Here is a quick breakdown on how this process will work. Taking Down Low Pop Servers These lower population servers make up about 33% of the existing online servers, with calculations based on sustained player-count as well as popularity of game mode. These servers will be taken offline and be re-purposed for new, fresh servers that will be put up on launch day. Any existing server that is not considered a low pop server and is not taken down will become a Legacy server. Legacy servers will remain on a separate cluster from the new cluster, which means you will not be able to transfer anything between Legacy servers and the new servers. Servers Up for Deletion Below is a complete list of the servers that will be deleted come August 29th. You have from now until 12:00am EST on the 29th to move your belongings onto a server not present on this list. Please click one of the links below. They are separated by platform (PC, Xbox, and PS4). How To Move Servers If you are unfamiliar with the process, you are able to upload your items, creatures, and player through the Obelisk terminal, supply drops, as well as the Tek Transmitter. Survivors are advised to use Cross-ARK immediately to relocate their belongings onto a server that is not included in our take-down list above. Server-wide Blackout Our Official Server Network will be taken down at 12:00AM ET on August 29th and will remain down for approximately 8 hours, with our official servers coming back online at 8am ET. During this time we will be going through the process of removing all servers outlined in this post and re-purposing them into a new cluster, completely separate from all Legacy servers. The Legacy servers and all the new servers will come back online after that time. Important Customer Support Legacy Information When the current servers become Legacy servers on the 29th, we will no longer offer Customer Support to these Legacy servers. All outstanding tickets to our Customer Support team will be wiped clean on launch day, and no future tickets submitted by those playing on Legacy servers will be accepted. Going forward our Customer Support team will be focused on assisting those present on the new cluster, which will not be plagued by many of the issues that occurred during the Early Access process. Unfortunately it is beyond the scope of our operation to continue to offer support on Legacy servers at this time. Do note that this is for Customer Support only, which is the process of submitting a ticket through our support system. Legacy clusters for PS4 and for Xbox will still be receiving Ragnarok servers. Legacy servers will also receive all of the same fixes and content that the new cluster will. Allocation of New Servers We know you are all very curious about this, but we don’t have this information ready to share quite yet. What I can tell you is that we plan to continue to support all current existing game modes in some capacity, so you won’t lose access to your favourite way to play the game. In the beginning we will be mainly focusing our efforts on strictly PVP and PVE servers on all maps, but will allocate servers to the other game modes based on their popularity. Server Saves of Deleted Servers We will make the save files available as soon as we can, which will likely be sometime before Saturday. We will host these files which anyone can download and then you are welcome to re-host the save file for your own use. We'll include a link to where you can download server saves in this post when they are available. To those affected by the move, we apologize greatly. This moving process will not be easy, but it is a necessary step towards our official launch. We have learned a lot throughout our Early Access adventures. Throughout our ups and downs, you’ve stood by our side and continued to support us during our growing pains and mess ups which is why we wanted our players to have the ability to keep as much progress as they can while still moving forward with a plan that will improve the game overall. We are committed to monitoring the health of this new cluster with our new ddos mitigation and changes to the transfer system (both of which will also be present on the Legacy servers), which will no doubt improve the official online playing environment. We look forward to fostering a fair and fun community with the beginning of our brand new ARK cluster on launch day. We very much appreciate your support of ARK through its Early Access process. Xbox UWP, Rentable Servers, Crossbuy, & Crossplay! While I have you here, I have some Xbox news to share as well! Originally our plan was to go out with Play Anywhere on our launch day but unfortunately that has now been pushed back until mid-September. However I do have some exciting news to share: with the use of Xbox and Windows 10 PC Crossplay (UWP) you can host your own server without needing an extra copy of the game or a second console to do it! (Though it is important to note that you will still be able to host a Player Dedicated server this way.) If you own ARK digitally on Xbox, you get the Windows 10 PC version as well as the Xbox One X version for free and you can play with all your Xbox friends from your PC or either console. In addition, we'll be introducing rentable servers for our Xbox Survivors at that time! We'll be sure to let you all know when these additions are ready to go out to Xbox users. Our release date is rapidly approaching and we're very excited for what is about to come. We hope you are too! All the best, Studio Wildcard View full article

  17. Man ... lot of crying here. Been there since day one. Have to start over.... that's Ark. Saying you hope they get sued ....? Pssssh Alot of the crying is also over not getting to retain thi mgs that were acquired through underdeveloped, exploited, bad means. I know not all, but a lot. I honestly wish every single server on everything would be wiped retail day. Yes in would lose all the awesomeness I've built up for a very long time. Oh well, .... DO IT AGAIN! Just .... stop .... whining ! Be grateful we have this awesome game at all! Also the claim that they do not support players is not only ridiculous, but just silly. That team bust their ass in this! Stop crying
