Alongside today’s Major Version update and Lumina’s arrival, we also want to share an update on character restoration following the recent Official Network rollback.

Since the rollback, the team has been manually restoring impacted characters, and approximately 20% of reported characters have already been restored through that process.

Alongside that work, we’ve also been improving the restoration pipeline itself so the remaining impacted characters can be handled more quickly and at a much larger scale and fortunately had a breakthrough. We are now successfully able to systematically identify lost characters reported through our form and programmatically restore them in game. This significantly eliminates the amount of time a single restoration would take, and also lays the groundwork for this process to become automated in the future.

With these improvements, we now expect to have 95% of impacted characters restored by the end of the day, with the remaining complex cases which require manual investigation to be restored by the end of the weekend. We know this has been a frustrating situation for players who have been waiting to get back to their characters, and we appreciate everyone’s patience.

If you believe you are still missing a character and have not yet submitted a report, please use the character restoration form here.

Before submitting the form, please check your other servers and the cloud to make sure the character is not already available elsewhere. Once you open the form, follow the steps provided and make sure the information is accurate before submitting.

Please include the following details:

  1. EOS ID
To find this, enter Single Player, open the console, and type whoami. This should display a long string of numbers and letters beginning with 000 (three zeros).
  2. Account name
  3. Implant number, if available
This is helpful, but restoration can still be completed without it.
  4. Official Network cluster
For example: PvE, PvP, Small Tribes, Console Small Tribes, or another Official cluster.

If you are on console, you may need to use a keyboard to enter the whoami command. If you do not have access to a keyboard, this helper mod can be used instead.

After your form has been submitted, there is nothing else you need to do while restoration is processed. Once restored, your character will appear in the cloud, so you can check there periodically.

While waiting for restoration, you may continue playing on other characters, but please avoid the following actions:

  • Do not transfer other characters through the cloud.
  • Do not transfer items through the cloud.
  • Do not upload or download items through the cloud.
  • Do not upload or download tames through the cloud.
  • Do not play Club ARK.

We keep a limited number of character backups, and repeated cloud-related actions can overwrite the save data needed for restoration.

Today’s update also includes a range of fixes across gameplay systems, bugs and stability, with more post-launch improvements already in progress. We’ll continue monitoring the live environment closely, working through your valuable player reports, and releasing follow-up patches as we move through the launch period.

I hope the now called feral creatures changes are temporary cause we really don't need this kind of creatures in the open ocean, it limits the usability of many creatures to go to  island to island, like the megachelon or the shasta and from what im reading in this patch note there is no changes to their max lvl, si yeah slow water creatures would just get shreded by those. So yeah it would be great if you could bring something else instead of the feral creatures. I think regular agressive creatures could do the job in my opinion, especialy because the ferals are really limited in the amount of diferent creatures they spawn, there is like only the megalodon, the dunkleosteus and the paleoctopus(and why would there be a feral ichtiosaurus ? It's not even agressive...).

Did you not readjust the difficulty of the Gamma outposts? Because it's clearly impossible x)

And regarding Tidepup, is it normal for it to be so hard to evolve? I mean, it takes an incredibly long time.

Guys, please, we need you to stop decay timers until chars are back please. You have no idea what people are losing.

Discord may be a writhing mass of screaming and abuse but there are many of us who wait patiently as we know we will get there in the end. Looks very exciting now, thank you for your hard work and well done to whoever discovered how to fast track restoration of lost characters 💪

Of course, the outrage at lack of Genesis servers will continue…  brace yourselves 🤭

much love and respect from a veteran Ark player 🩷

The change of [Untameable wild creatures are now named “Feral” instead of “Wild” on their floating name] is pretty cool if it applies to other maps too, no more guessing if that cave creature on the Island is tameable or not. Like the time I tried to tame dung beetles in the Cavern of Lost Faith and they weren't accepting any food.

Wonder if any of ship related changes mentioned going forwards will also apply to the raft or if the raft is counted separately.

I kind of wish that the ammo box also worked with fertilizer so you could top up all your plants from one spot and benefit both pvp and pve.

awesome. really enjoying the map and dlc so far. one thing id like to see is if there could b something done to help with the ship getting beached . one cool thing maybe is to add a small boat we could put on the side so that we could get to shore without having to swim lol. but all in all i love this map and dlcs

There's just no need for the obnoxiously high levels on the now "Feral" sea creatures.

If someone falls off in ship combat, they're likely enough to die to regular x-megalodons and xipachtinus - especially with their pack bonuses. You don't need the overpowered creatures. We get that you don't want us looking too closely at the ocean floor you didn't bother with, but it just limits you to travelling on boat or raft when this should be THE map for people to experiment with water tames.

This 'How to train yo... I mean, Dragontopia' DLC is an actual slop garbage. The 2 revealed dragons are ugly af, don't fit the game AND are clearly a blatant Toothless and the Light Fury knockoffs. I hope they get sued by DreamWorks and they learn their lesson.

29,99€ my a*s.

Hello! Is there any chance you'd consider turning off decay in transmitters while this is going on? I've got 22 hours left on tek I uploaded to build a base on another server before the gen 1 release and still no character. Thank you!

If the tides of fortune dlc was like 10-15 Dollars it would be more acceptable, or if the sloop or a smaller boat that actually worked well on the ocean was free. Its a massive struggle to cross the ocean on a raft/motorboat or with a tame because of the aggressive creatures and slow speeds. Wish we could of atleast gotten something.

Why does the mining drill only have 1 craft? That makes no sense at all, please remove the crafting limit.

Also, why are the sea creatures over level 300 it’s insane. Cant even tame up a normal sea creature because they get smoked so quickly by a pack of level 350+.

On a postitive note, this map is fun and enjoyable if y’all make some adjustments.

This Lumina dragon looks like the light fury from How to Train your dragon : the hidden world.

Can you add a giant dragon alpha boss for Dragontopia?

How many dragons will be coming to Dragontopia because if there are lots of dragons I will buy.

While I understand the whole "hybrid" and 2 distinct types of dinos/dragons, NOT making Lumina and Umbra traits interchangeable was an absolute FAIL on your part Wildcard.  95% of the time, the male dinos are the ones traited for breeding.  You've literally made these guys almost impossible to breed up and mutate.  Such a huge dissatisfier and IMO a waste of my $30.  I could have just stuck with some modded dragons it won't take me a year and a half to breed up.  Trust, after this latest debacle of a release with Genesis, Dragontopia AND BTT coming out on the same day with the amount of bugs, crashes, rollbacks, etc...  I won't be spending another dime on any of your DLCs until you get your act together.  Literally release a dino you can't use on a map you just released.  What were you guys even thining?  Oh wait...  you weren't thinking about anything but the $$$

Yes, but if you hold x button I believe they had intended health buffer to go up to 250 and covert that damage to healing to make it evolve faster. However it only calculates a 100 health buffer to activate its ability so far then theirs 30seconds of cooldown. Since you can change the health buffer to 250 this leads me to believe it might go up from 100 to 250 maybe soon in the future.

also please get the word out it’s still very slow, but it’s more efficient to put your campfire on the middle of a stair structure then stand on the upper part of the stair and walk repeatedly down on top of the campfire to evolve your tidepup. This can be done while watch a show on a device consider it a life hack for the ark community. I really love everyone’s builds and wanted to share an easier way.

Once tamed it no longer heals Dino til it evolves i don’t know if this was intended or how they want tidepup to work i like it very much so far doh, but looking up fast ways to evolve it only shows how to tame it so I kept getting confused is it supposed to heal Dino’s only during the tamin processs and after it evolves or was it intended to heal Dino’s and the player to evolve or just player. I believe it’s not entirely finished being cooked yet so we’ll see in time. I don’t know if the want player health regeneration to be to broken either. If 200 healing ain’t bad doh with 1000 to 1200 health and player armor. Add modded dinosaurs then even 250 healing is very nice.

So someone modded and added a Godzilla mod fans are excited and happy, but a company avoids using exact titles, names or their exact design their shouldn’t be a problem. how are we expected to get to enjoy the full use of modding/creativity : / complaining about references at that point that takes the fun stuff away their used to be an All Might skin like from hero academia on the hero cosmetic it’s gone. Which was a cool skin, but Fortnite can get away with it not cool.

It was announced it was inspired by how you train your dragon even before its release by the news.

i already seen a mod for a cosmetic to put on lumina and umbra that gives them a different look not sure if it’s published yet, but I seen one. if you think their ugly that’s understandable just change it or dont buy it. Modding freedom has been killed by comments before.

Palworld has
used a references and the name of Terraria and Fortnite has done references too infact all games have. All around player happiness deals with opinions over the whole game rather they overlook references or complain a lot. I’d say Adapt or it’s not a game worth playing cause it isn’t fun if the game isn’t adding new content.
