Maeguana.png

Alongside this map, you will encounter a new creature, the Maeguana. Its motherly nature will help nurture your babies, and its skin membrane will guide you to safety.

This striking variant of the Maewing fuses the agility of its counterpart with a robust, reptilian appearance worthy of the gods of the pantheon.

Congrats to all the submissions to the Valguero vote ! Whatever happens in the next few days, you all were full of creativity and optimism. It's so great to see.
If you have a creature in the running, no matter how popular it has been so far, I think you should post a link (maybe with a picture if you have one) in the Community Crunch comments, to encourage people to check it out ! Just once, don't spam.

For instance, mine is the evil Darwinius, a lemur with a taste for chaos, and acts as a cryogun, portable (limited) cryofridge, and whip ! Let me know what yours is...DARWINIUS-Triangle.png

If you haven't voted yet, or only for one or two creatures, please don't hesitate and drop by submissions (whether they appear in the Top10 or not at the moment), and tell submitters how you feel about their ideas. You have unlimited votes, as well as unlimited aptitude for reacting with an emoji and/or commenting ! So celebrate the diversity of the imagination in our community :)

...Also, it's worth reminding everyone that the Top10 is right now, at best, determined by 430 people (for the Megaraptor currently). That's a tiny minority of the players currently enjoying ARK ! If you want the Top10 to look different, it's technically completely possible still. It'll be too late to complain once a creature you don't like ends up winning...

the map is insane and
Natus' work is just great!

a magnificent map, new bosses, new challenge. In short, for the map itself I give 5 stars.

on the other hand I put the total rating at 3 stars because we are being sold a new free creature as being a new creature when it is only a maewing with a skin. literally. I would have found it much more acceptable that the real Maewing was back with Astraeos. the problem now is that when the real maewing arrives with gen2 it will be absolutely useless.

what is little in all this is that we can wonder if wildcard has made the decision that the free creatures that it would introduce into the game will only be creatures already existing with a different 3D model (apart from the creatures voted by the community)

in short I find that investing players' money to create a 3D model of a
new creature that in reality is just an old creature with a reskin is money poorly invested.

To date, players must pay $120 in total to have all the additional official content. I think that for once it would have been legitimate to do us a little favor and create a real new free creature. what's the point of spending so much money in the game otherwise.

cordially, a player who loves the game and the new features that ASA brings, but also worried about the future.

The underwater atmosphere seems lively on Astraeos; black pearl and silica pearls nodes are massive oysters easy to spot, corals give cementing paste, table corals give fungal wood and so on. The island of sheep and horses had 4 horses and 2 normal sheep, so Ragnarok and Lost Island still might win for sheep farming.
Brought some Maeguana and eggs back to the Island; over half my time today has been trying to find just one of them but it was worth it. Now I'm excited to get Maewings back again when Genesis part 2 releases next year, just because many more spawn, they're clumped together in relatively safe or rex-free areas, easy to immediately find and spawn next to Ovis in some cases too.

When the wasted points going into oxygen and the intended nursing effectiveness scaling is implemented then I'll tame some fresh high level ones to breed. While the Armadoggo's ability to teleport and relocate your items instantly between bases is good, gliding 3x faster than a Wyvern, 4x faster than a Rhynio and swim faster than it too is much more fun. Just hope the spawns increase some more since breeders are taming the few that appear right up.

Well that's a great idea. I always stand by my position of making sure there are more than one winner, but in the meantime this is a feasible idea. Be strong guys, if you win well, if you don't win there will be another chance, if you make nice artwork with the hope that it will be enough to get votes you are bad people (I'm joking, I'm getting organized too) and I wish everyone a good competition. In the meantime here are my proposals:

They are a bit strange but you might like them

We are all a little worried about the future, who isn't. Anyway you're right, they need to review some things about investments but for the rest seeing all this amount of content they release just makes me think that they should charge less, given that for the rest I think this map is beautiful.

When you get further along in the map progression I recommend you kill as many creatures as possible, this will help the spawn.

I'm wondering when the entire map will be released. It's at about 75% right now. Maybe June but probably not before Rag releases. It looks like a desert section but it would be awesome if they had a big cavern area with no radiation but with some aberrant critters or a new glowy critter. Im also wondering if they will release a fantastic tame when they open the desert biome. I thought I saw somewhere Astreos was going to get one

35%, and the answer is when it's done.

please at least consider using an approval based voting system instead of ranked. ranked voting can be abused; the plurality can end up getting snubbed, potentially leaving most folks upset with the results.

with approval based voting you can still choose multiple options, but you only pick the ones you like most. that way even if there's no majority, the choice with the largest backing can still win as the plurality, meaning more folks are likely to be happy with the results.

you could even choose two or more winners. in fact i think that would make a LOT more people happy
