It’s heavily inspired by it, the Nightfeeder is very similar to Megaraptorans so it fits pretty well with the animal’s overall anatomy.
DILONG Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 Bit of a reminder for the voters that Megaraptor is NOT a raptor and is in fact more anatomically close early tyrannosaurs like Yutyrannus, the main differences being the larger hand claws, long skinny head, and slightly hunched back around the hip region. There is some debate about if megaraptorans as a whole are proper pantyrannosaurs or just a sister branch of coelurosaur theropods, whatever the case they’re still incredibly powerful and terrifying carnivores.

DragonRocnik Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 This creature seems more suited for PVP and I'm wondering how it would work for PVE besides being another creature that can kill bosses easier? There is any other uses besides being a boss killer?

There is any other uses besides being a boss killer? It's a good mount for hunting and exploring, given its agility. Sure, it's best used against bosses and other giants (rex, giga, Titanosaurus, carcha, wyverns...). You'll enjoy using Megaraptor in caves, thanks to its medium size and the Darkness Buff. Finally, think about the Megaraptor blades, which allow you to concentrate a series of abilities in the survivor's own hands, enabling you to face certain threats or obstacles by yourself. In PvE, Megaraptor brings nothing revolutionary, but beside its versatility, you could say it relies on the survivor's experience, since your relationship with Megaraptor evolves as you level up: it starts off as a terrifying threat in early game, changing the survival strategy (making you use fire more, among other things), then it becomes a dangerous foe later on, and once tamed, it's a mighty ally.
Chubchub2020 Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 This definitely sounds like a dino that could annoy the player. If they do not approach players holding a torch then it might work. Even still after the 3rd time of this creature pouncing on me when I am in the middle of taming another creature I am looking for a mod to take it out.

Correct, it won't pounce on you if you're holding a torch or Megaraptor blades in your hands. In any case, it's a rare dino. It can't be any more annoying than all the other hostile creatures in the game.
Lise Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 It does seem quite scary, let's hope that a torch at night is as valuable against the Megaraptor as it is at keeping Troodons passive between ~20:24 to ~05:15! I like the taming mechanic too; it'd be nice (for me at 500%+) if melee damage on the player or the held weapon increased the taming effectiveness but that might be too crazy. I wonder how large the packs might become over time, like when alpha Raptors or Therizinosaurus spawns can pile up in an area as other things fight each other.

It's supposed to be rare, so they should spawn very far apart, but let's see how Wildcard designs it ?
Totallynotthekingtitan Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 Is that a mega raptor or a demonic land before time yutyrannus? 💀 with all seriousness this shouldn't be on valgauero but it is a cool creature and I like the concept of horror ark kinda like five nights at carnos lol love it
