As a fun creature to use, yet not being completely game changing/ breaking.

To return fear back into the ark.

Help set a good example of how theropods should be.

Is there an over saturation of carnivores? Yeah, there sure is. And most of them suck.

People want a fresh carnivore with fresh abilities, there is a reason why this guy is first.

I understand the sentiment of wanting new herbivores, heck, I want Xeno to win, but being annoying about it isn’t going to convince anyone. Also most ppl who check the comments care abt Megaraptor anyways.

Yes, that’s exactly what is stated at the beginning of the submission. It’s also why Megaraptor’s abilities don’t make Deinonychus obsolete: they both deserve their own niche, without taking the spotlight from one another.

Oh, Hello Troodon, Bats, Spiders, Kapro, Purlovia, Megalania, aurthroplura, DREADMARE, Reaper queen, Seekers, Nameless, and literally every theropod ever, nice to know you're doing your job at making a rated T game scary.

 

Also, mind that you are here to vote for THE CREATURE, not what it can do. We have had plenty of carnivores and theropods win, and they are apparently not to your liking, so what will automatically make this one not bad?

 

We are here to discuss the creature, that includes distain and criticism, don't like it? Don't ask for things we don't need.

You started the submission because you wanted yet another overhyped carnivore to childishly smash against all the others in official PvP and to whine about it when it's not to your exact specifications. U just named a bunch of useless and outdated carnivores….(For the most part since u did mention EVERY theropod)

Don’t know where the second part came from. I said that most suck, not all. Yi-ling, gigantoraptor and fasolosuchus are great creatures, yet they still provide different and unique gameplay. Megaraptor will prob do the same. Also did u not catch that Xeno is my first pick?

Do i have to name every outdated carnivore in this game?  
Onyc does nothing, troodons are high risk low reward tames, spiders are useless, purlovias just exist, megalanias and kapros r cool concepts but as soon as u can get those u already have the option to move on to better tames.

Wouldnt I love them all to get tlcd? Sure I would! Sadly, we don’t have that option right now. When ppl go through this submission, they think of the previous carnivores and for a lot of ppl megaraptor introduces something new.

I play PVE and I do try to catch them all when I play, and lot of carnivores are down right useless. I can’t talk abt PVP bc I don’t play it.

Orc is a tiny bat, it carries diseases and rends armor, and are thus a hazardous pest in the caves, making them scary ... not useless.

 Troodons are pets, they are loyal, fast, and dangerous in numbers, especially at night when its difficult to see... making them scary... not useless.

 

The spiders... Im guessing Arachnophobia just isn't in your dictionary... Also their webbing slows enemies making the already confined caves difficult to navigate... making them scary... not useless.

 

Purlovias are ambush predators, always knocking you off your mount and stunning you. often resulting in you dying before you can even recover. did I mention they often spawn in groups? And that this makes them scary? and not useless?

 

Megalania is a cave dwelling lizard that can crawls on walls and ambush you from above, never mind their venomous bitte and the fact they can carry mega rabies, and fighting them in a confined space on top of spiders, and bats (who can also carry rabies),  and ARMOR MELTING CENEPEDES!?!?! sorry how is that NOT scary? Also not useless.

 

Kapro is a swamp tame, plenty of obnoxious things there to ruin your day, and it so happens to be one of them. Kocking you off your mount and carrying you far away from it? if you DO amage to get away or bting it down good luck finding your mount again by the time you get picked off by another one, and if toy don't OH boy, good luck going searching for it in the SWAMP when you do manage to get there. Yeah these guys are scarry... not useless.

 

Also, i like how you keep calling me a "brat" when you are the one getting offended by an OPINION. An opinion that, I might add, is about the creature this topic is about and not devolving into more crying over someone not liking yet another overhyped Theropod.

Most of the creatures are useless in the sense that once u tame them they do little to nothing, thats why ppl dont bother…

Also, according to you if there are “scary” creatures, more scary creatures shouldn’t be added? (Btw I would love to have a horror inspired herbivore too, that would be awesome)

Um... no? Even in  PvE, heck even in single player, these tames have their uses, albeit niche ones. In addition, these animals do their job at "Making ARK Scary" just fine in the wild alone, not that ARK was ever meant to be a horror game anyway. I mean... It's ARK, not The Isle.

 

Also also, we have scary herbivores already!!! Therizino, Kentro, and Amarga! we could have had more, but too bad the carnivores keep taking up the final brackets just for being carnivores.

 

I need a wakeup call? I'm not the one advocating for a theropod that's just "Bigger Microraptor" with a fire fear. and i'm certainly not the one devolving this into an argument just for having an opinion. Let's be real here, people only want this theropod.... because its a theropod... yet another carnivore to smash into the other carnivores in battle. No offence but um, none of those creatures are useful at all, anything they can do there is a guarantee that another creature or item can do it better. With a good enough mount and a good gun they aren’t scary either.

I want more herbivores too but they’re repetitive, there’s only so many stomps and headbut animations until it gets boring. Carnivores have variety depending on arm, jaw, tails, height and whether or not they are bipedal/quadrupedal or both

Sorry, But wit will always be wrong about that. Especially when completion and collectionists are concerned.

Bleed? there's PLENTY of carnivores that do that

Climb? Rock drakes got that covered, and come with camo, and that's not accounting for anything that can fly

Run? Plenty of fast carnivores already, some of them are good fighters too

Be Scarry? That's literally the point of Yutyrannus

Be wild and uncontrollable? giga's ben doing that since before scorched

Be maneuverable? We are getting Acro  in the VERY near future, and can do that while being a meat shield

Getting a night time buff? We got two tames that can do that, and one of them is so good at it it gets nerfed during the day.

Healing when attacking? Ceratosaurus already does that...

Turning its body parts into weapons? That's not even something that was first adopted by carnivores, (thanks amarga)

 

Megaraptor brings nothing new to the table other than being from a family with no representation from an era with plenty of it. Again, Megaraptor is only as high as it is, because it's a theropod. Not because its ideas are anything new or even original.

Yep, advocating for it cause it’s a cool submission. Some ppl want more teeth, others want new breeding qol dinos, others want cool herbivores and some just want an easy knockout tame. All of these thoughts and submissions are valid. If they weren’t this wouldn’t be a valid (true) vote. Honestly at the end of the day, the fact that we get a new dino for Val is great, and the fact that we are able to submit said dinos is amazing.

But... it isn't cool. It's literally riding the coattails of Death from Puss in Boots The Last Wish, which the design is clearly based on.

 

Again, people are only voting for its, because it's a theropod. It's not doing anything new or different than other carnivores. Sure, it is cool we get to vote on these things, so why waste it on "better version of [Insert Theropod Here]"?

Ur right! (Excluding ambush mode which is sick, and its ability to give u ptsd which sounds like a nightmare...oh wait. Yeah this megaraptor is a cool creature in general)  That's why I offer this from previous megaraptor submissions:

 

Skilled Assassin:

Megaraptor can equip trophies on a tab next to its skin tab from different creatures such as allo brains, sauropod vertebra, sarco skin, extra.. to gain a 25% damage buff against said creatures. It can also track any creature whose trophy it has equipped from a long range. The only down side to this is that it will gain a 10% damage intake from any other creatures.

 

Vengeful beast:

Being a creature that dwells in the dark,  megaraptor is quick to develop resentment. If megaraptor ever witnesses a fellow allied creature die, its resentment bar fills up. The death of a bigger creature makes megaraptor gain more resentment. (Only works if your creatures die to the enemy’s hand) Once its bar is full, megaraptor will go berserk, shredding anything in its way. Megaraptors resentment bar takes a long time to lower. Megaraptor will gain a 25% damage intake from enemy creatures. (You are never supposed to let your creatures die, I am just proposing an aspect of avenging)

Death stare:

Megaraptor triggers death stare which causes any survivor with low fortitude or smaller creature to stay paralyzed in fear. 
Megaraptor will then start circling it victim and will either eat it or jumpscare lunge. *Humans can get paralyzed*

Only works at night.

 

Weaknesses:

Pachyrhino can use its scents to throw off and confuse megaraptor, making it slow and vulnerable. That way we can give pachyrhino a TLC!!

If its raw damage and stomping power, then just get a rex. or even a giga or carch if you are stingy for numbers. that way you have a killer that doesn't get a de-buff from being selective of what it kills AND you don't need a tame with some weird gimmick to do it. AND you don't need to just LET tames die for any buffs! you can just overwhelm with sheer strength and numbers.... Practicality is something you really need to consider with these things. 

 

Tyrannosaurs also already stuns lower-level tames with its own roar, or did you forget about that TLC all the way back in the days of ASE? Oh, and it doesn't matter what time of day it is either.

 

Para's detect should also be allowed to work, because that's how it's whole mechanic is meant to work. It works on the rock drakes camo, it works on burrowed tams, so why should it MAGICALLY not work on a stalking mega raptor?

Megaraptor brings nothing new to the table other than being from a family with no representation from an era with plenty of it. Again, Megaraptor is only as high as it is, because it's a theropod. Not because its ideas are anything new or even original.

I’m not talking about whether they can bite, slash or climb. I’m talking about how even with those features it can still feel new and unique rather than a reskined trike that moves its head to the right instead of the left. Rock drake climbing is very different from dinopithecus climbing and that’s just one example lol

Also, if THAT'S the card you want to play? What exactly does Megaraptor do that other carnivores don't exactly?

 

Bite? Tyrannosaurs can do that fine

Slash? Spinosaurus can do that fine

Bleed? there's PLENTY of carnivores that do that

Climb? Rock drakes got that covered, and come with camo, and that's not accounting for anything that can fly

Run? Plenty of fast carnivores already, some of them are good fighters too

Be Scarry? That's literally the point of Yutyrannus

Be wild and uncontrollable? giga's ben doing that since before scorched

Be maneuverable? We are getting Acro  in the VERY near future, and can do that while being a meat shield

Getting a night time buff? We got two tames that can do that, and one of them is so good at it it gets nerfed during the day.

Healing when attacking? Ceratosaurus already does that...

Turning its body parts into weapons? That's not even something that was first adopted by carnivores, (thanks amarga)

These submissions aren’t reflective of the real vote either, this one depends on the time being posted and people being able to upvote as many creatures as they like. This is just submissions and the other one depends on the placement of the creatures and them needing to be popular enough. 
do you honestly think every single person who upvoted this creature is gonna put it at the top of their list? The jumping spider lost like 3 votes even though it was first in submissions

But ARE they new? As I already mentioned, everything suggested here already has something else that either does it better or is their whole identity. Which is ironic, because people like to complain about "Useless" tames by suggesting ideas that would result in other tames becoming "useless."

YES, I DO! Because it has the unfair advantage of being a theropod! It's riding the coattails of media that's are still relevant and popular to amp up its frankly over-rated hype, I mean for crying out loud just take an image of Death from Last Wish and put it next to The megaraptor here and you try telling me there's no resemblance with a straight face.

Maybe if the herbivores looked interesting, they’d get more votes ?‍♂️ The megaraptor is advertised as “your worst nightmare” so using death as a reference is actually pretty smart and it looks cool, the movie has also been out for quite a while so to say it’s popular in the media is a lie because it has about the same amount of mentions as most movies in that genre. It’s not an unfair advantage either, the creature votes exist so the public have a say on what the future of the game looks like, if they are voting for a theropod, it’s simply because they want a theropod and again this is just the submissions not the real vote, if you like something better then put it first and don’t drag other submissions down because they don’t meet your specific and subjective needs

But the herbivores ARE interesting, just because they aren't a combat oriented submission doesn't mean they aren't. Megaraptor is just, a theropod with long claws... oh yeah SOOOOOOOOO interesting (sarcasm). We have enough carnivores, PERIOD. The fewer submissions we have of them, the better.

Anything can sound boring when you dumb it down like that and by that logic a trike is a lizard with horns or a stego, one with spikes or pachy, big forehead or iguanodon, weird thumbs. Every complaint you make about carnivores can also be made about herbivores so maybe it’s best to play a game with no dinosaurs or even animals at all because clearly ark cannot fulfill your needs
